Several alkaloids were isolated from Crinum augustum grown in Assiut, Egypt. Two were identified as lycorine and buphanisine. In addition two new non-hydroxylated alkaloids of identical molecular formula C17H19NO4 were investigated by spectroscopic methods. The gross structure of the first, termed augustine, belongs to the 1,2-epoxy-5, 10-b-ethanophenanthridine-type. In contrast the second could not be related to any of the known alkaloid types of the Amaryllidaceae. 相似文献

Variation in isozyme patterns from ten populations of the Korean endemic Lycoris species was used to test the hypothesis that L. flavescens originated from natural hybridization between diploid L. chinensis and L. sanguinea var. koreana. Lycoris sanguinea var. koreana shows fixed heterozygosity at four of nine loci assayed, suggesting that this species is an allotetraploid instead of a diploid.
Electrophoretic data suggest that Lycoris flavescens is an allotriploid species derived from the hybridization between diploid L. chinensis and tetraploid L. sanguinea var. koreana. The patterns of allelic distribution in populations of L. flavescens suggest multiple origins of the allotriploid. Within the L. flavescens complex, our isozyme data support the recognition of two taxa, L. flavescens and a recently recognized species, L. uydoensis.

The novel compounds N-demethylbelladine, 6alpha-methoxybuphanidrine and filifoline, in addition to five known alkaloids, and phenol have been isolated from fresh bulbs of Nerine filifolia (Amaryllidaceae). The structure and stereochemistry of the compounds were determined by physical and spectroscopic methods, including 1D and 2D NMR and mass spectroscopic techniques. An unusual circular dichroism response from filifoline has required a semi-synthetic derivatisation strategy towards key C-11endo analogues of the beta-crinane representative ambelline in which the nature of substituents was observed to have a profound effect on molecular ellipticity. Filifoline was not cytotoxic to myoblast (L6) cells and exhibited no anti-protozoal activity in an in vitro screen against four different parasitic protozoa. 相似文献

In order to study the functional differentiation in flowers of 15 sphingophilous Brazilian Angiosperms, anthesis, flower morphology, flower odours and the behaviour of visiting animals were investigated. All 15 species were found to have nocturnal anthesis, but only 13 proved to be predominantly visited by hawk-moths. Of the 3Lafoensia populations studied, one was pollinated only by hawk-moths, one was chiropterophilous and one had a mixed bat-moth pollination; there are corresponding differences in flower dimensions.

Phytochemical studies on Galanthus nivalis of Bulgarian origin resulted in the isolation of five compounds: 11-O-(3'-hydroxybutanoyl)hamayne, 3,11-O-(3',3'-dihydroxybutanoyl)hamayne, 3-O-(2'-butenoyl)-11-O-(3'-hydroxybutanoyl)hamayne, 3,11,3'-O-(3',3',3'-trihydroxybutanoyl)hamayne, and 2-O-(3'-acetoxybutanoyl)lycorine, together with five known alkaloids: ungeremine, lycorine, tazettine, hamayne, and ismine. Galanthamine, an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor used for the treatment of Alzheimer's disease, and galanthamine-type alkaloids are synthesised in different plants of the family Amaryllidaceae. A capillary gas chromatographic-mass spectroscopic (CGC-MS) method for the separation of 7 galanthamine type alkaloids, including galanthamine and epigalanthamine, is described in the present paper. A simple method for the routine quantification of galanthamine in plants was developed using pre-packed columns with diatomaceous earth (Isolute HM-N), allowing simultaneous preparation of a large number of samples. Galanthamine showed excellent linearity in the range from 50 to 1000 microg/mL and the limit of quantification was 5 microg/mL in total ion current mode and 1.6 ng/mL in selected ion monitoring mode. The recovery of galanthamine was more than 90%. Interday reproducibility (RSD) of the extraction was 2.74%. A method to find and to microextract Amaryllidaceae alkaloids in low-mass plant samples is also described. 相似文献

The roots of Haemanthus kalbreyeri contain a new phenanthridone alkaloid, kalbretorine, and a new glucosyloxy alkaloid, kalbreclasine. Additionally, six known alkaloids, viz. haemanthamine, haemanthidine, hippadine, lycorine, narciclasine and pratorimine, previously reported from other Amaryllidaceous plants have now been isolated also from this species. Kalbretorine produced marked inhibition of growth and viability of S-180 tumour cells. Kalbreclasine caused significant mitogenic activation of splenic lymphocytes characteristic of immuno stimulants. 相似文献

Choline esterase inhibitory properties of alkaloids from two Nigerian Crinum species 总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
The bulbs of Crinum jagus and Crinum glaucum are used in traditional medicine in southern Nigeria for memory loss and other mental symptoms associated with ageing. Alkaloidal extracts of bulbs from each species showed inhibition of acetylcholinesterase, an activity exploited therapeutically to raise the depressed levels of acetylcholine in the brain associated with Alzheimer's disease. Using the in situ bioautographic test method for enzyme inhibition, a number of alkaloids were isolated and their activity quantified using the Ellman spectrophotometric test. The most active alkaloids isolated were hamayne (IC50 250 microM) and lycorine (IC50 450 microM) whilst other alkaloids were comparatively inactive with haemanthamane giving 3% inhibition and crinamine giving 4.4% inhibition at 50 mg ml(-1) (174 microM). These contrast with the positive control physostigmine which gave IC50 of 0.25 microM. Cholinesterase activity appears to be associated with the presence of two free hydroxy groups in this structural type of Amaryllidaceae alkaloid. 相似文献
