作者研究山西阳泉丽斑麻蜥(Eremias argus)成体的选择体温、热耐受性及食物同化和疾跑速的热依赖性。选择体温、临界低温和临界高温无显著的两性差异,分别为36·0℃、1·0℃和44·9℃。在实验温度范围内,体温显著影响食物通过时间、日摄食量、日粪尿排量、表观消化系数和同化效率。食物通过时间在26 -34℃范围内随体温升高而缩短,在更高的体温下则延长。蜥蜴在30、32、34和36℃体温下明显摄入较多的食物、排出明显较多的粪尿。34℃和36℃下的表观消化系数和同化效率大于其它更低或更高温度下的对应数值,但这两个变量未因体温变化而呈现清晰的规律性变化。疾跑速在18 -36℃范围内随体温升高而加快,在38℃体温下则减缓。36℃或附近体温最适合疾跑速。疾跑速最适体温接近蜥蜴的选择体温,表明蜥蜴疾跑速的最适温度可能与其选择体温密切相关[动物学报52 (2) : 256 -262 , 2006]。  相似文献

应用中国西北半干旱区定西试验站2005年观测资料,估算了典型的稀疏农作物区空气动力学粗糙度,结合空气动力学模型分析了稀疏植被区空气动力学粗糙度的时间变化及其与风速、植株密度的关系,并得出空气动力学粗糙度的参数化方案;结合卫星遥感得到的植被叶面积指数资料,模拟了区域空气动力学粗糙度,得出:(1)空气动力学粗糙度的时间变化与风速变化规律有相反的特点;在稀疏植被区,粗糙单元分布密度对流场有一定影响,随粗糙单元密度的增加,空气动力学粗糙度将逐渐增大。(2)植株高度超过0.2m时,植被高度和植株密度、叶面积指数对空气动力学粗糙度的影响较大,当植株高度低于0.2m时,风速的影响较大。(3)结合遥感反演的叶面积指数,采用空气动力学粗糙度和叶面积指数及风速的关系,反演了空气动力学粗糙度,反演结果空间分布和误差都反映了实际空气动力学粗糙度的特征,证明空气动力学粗糙度遥感参数化比较成功。  相似文献

通过大田试验,研究了秸秆还田、施用有机肥和氮肥对水稻土微生物和土壤有机质含量的影响。试验结果表明:(1)在秸秆还田的情况下,增施氮肥(0-330kg/hm2范围内)可促进秸秆的的腐解;(2)秸秆还田、施用有机肥和氮肥中的单一措施均能不同程度地增加水稻土壤细菌、真菌、放线菌的数量;(3)综合运用秸秆还田、施用有机肥和氮肥措施能协同增加土壤微生物数量,提高土壤生物量态氮和有机质含量,以秸秆还田量为6000kg/hm2、施用有机肥量为4500kg/hm2、施用氮肥量为240kg/hm2效果较佳。  相似文献

Animals must allocate some proportion of their time to detecting predators. In birds and mammals, such anti‐predator vigilance has been well studied, and we know that it may be influenced by a variety of intrinsic and extrinsic factors. Despite hundreds of studies focusing on vigilance and suggestions that there are individual differences in vigilance, there have been no prior studies examining its heritability in the field. Here, we present one of the first reports of (additive) genetic variation in vigilance. Using a restricted maximum likelihood procedure, we found that, in yellow‐bellied marmots (Marmota flaviventris), the heritability of locomotor ability (h2 = 0.21), and especially vigilance (h2 = 0.08), is low. These modest heritability estimates suggest great environmental variation or a history of directional selection eliminating genetic variation in these traits. We also found a significant phenotypic (rP = ?0.09 ± 0.04, P = 0.024) and a substantial, but not significant, genetic correlation (rA = ?0.57 ± 0.28, P = 0.082) between the two traits (slower animals are less vigilant while foraging). We found no evidence of differential survival or longevity associated with particular phenotypes of either trait. The genetic correlation may persist because of environmental heterogeneity and genotype‐by‐environment interactions maintaining the correlation, or because there are two ways to solve the problem of foraging in exposed areas: be very vigilant and rely on early detection coupled with speed to escape, or reduce vigilance to minimize time spent in an exposed location. Both strategies seem to be equally successful, and this ‘locomotor ability‐wariness’ syndrome may therefore allow slow animals to compensate behaviourally for their impaired locomotor ability.  相似文献

The speed and the minimum carrying capacity needed for a successful population expansion into new territory are addressed using a reaction-diffusion model. The model is able to encapsulate a rich collection of ecological behaviours, including the Allee effect, resource depletion due to consumption, dispersal adaptation due to population pressure, biological control agents, and a range of breeding suppression mechanisms such as embryonic diapause, delayed development and sperm storage. It is shown how many of these phenomena can be characterised as density-dependence in a few fundamental ecological parameters. With the help of a powerful mathematical technique recently developed by Balasuriya and Gottwald (J. Math. Biol. 61, pp. 377-399, 2010), explicit formulae for the effect on the speed and minimum carrying capacity are obtained.  相似文献

Alates of the Eastern subterranean termite, Reticulitermes flavipes (Kollar) were collected over two flight seasons (2002 and 2004) and flown on flight mills. Data were collected to test if alate mass, colony origin, or gender influenced flight speed. Flight speed ranged from 3.14 to 69.12 cm s−1 and the maximum distance flown by an alate was 458.3 m. Alate mass (P = 0.9406), gender (P = 0.3976), colony origin (P = 0.1244), and the interaction of gender and colony (P = 0.7093) did not significantly influence flight speed. Additionally, an electronic counting device was used to provide instantaneous flight speeds and allowed flight speed to be modeled during acceleration, cruising, and deceleration periods of flight. Mean (±SEM) flight speeds in 2004 were 20.64 (±2.21) cm s−1 (n = 13) for males and 17.76 cm s−1 (n = 1) for the single female flown, falling within the range of the 2002 values.  相似文献

Decreased critical swimming speed and increased oxygen consumption (     ) was found for externally tagged Atlantic cod Gadus morhua swimming at a high speed of 0·9 body length (total length, L T) s−1. A first order analytical approximation of steady-state heat conduction in a hollow cylinder exchanging heat at its external surface by convection with a cold and windy environment is presented. The model depicts the thermal behavior of certain body elements, e.g., head/face, when exposed to such environments. The results are presented by dimensionless parameters and facilitate the estimation of wind chill equivalent temperatures (WCETs). The effects of several variables on determining WCETs were studied using specific examples, leading to the following generalizations: (1) the conditions assumed for "calm" wind speed appear to be a dominant factor in determining WCET; (2) the effects, on both (skin) surface temperature and on WCET, of a 1°C change in environmental temperature appear to be more pronounced than those of a 1 m/s change in wind speed; (3) similarly, predicted WCETs are more sensitive to the geometrical dimensions assumed for the modeled entity than they are to wind speeds; and (4) tissue thermal conductivity, the angle at which the convective heat transfer coefficient is measured relative to wind direction, and the factor used to establish "effective" wind speeds in the domain occupied by humans relative to reported values, all seem to have relatively small effects on the determination of WCET. These conclusions strongly suggest, among other things, that for any given combination of environmental conditions, wind chill indices may best be presented as ranges rather than as single values. This seems to apply even when worst-case scenarios are considered. Also emphasized is the need for careful and realistic selection of all the parameter values used in the determination of WCETs.  相似文献

Abstract Behaviour of nocturnal insects is routinely observed under red light, but it is unclear how the behaviour under red light compares to behaviour in complete darkness, or under a source of white light. Here, we measure movement behaviour of the nocturnal carabid beetle Pterostichus melanarius Illiger (Coleoptera: Carabidae) using camera recording under a near‐infrared (nir), red or white radiation source. Red light significantly reduced movement speed in females similar to the effect of white light and different from nir. Also movement activity and pause length were affected by radiation source, with a significant difference between nir and white light, and with intermediate values in red light. The results presented here indicate that P. melanarius has different movement behaviour under the three radiation sources and suggest that nir rather than red radiation is most appropriate for measuring behaviour in total darkness. However, in the field total darkness is rare both because of natural light sources such as the moon and stars but increasingly also because of ecological light pollution, and therefore red light may still be of use for observing ecologically and practically relevant natural night‐time behaviour.  相似文献
