不同类型森林石灰土的团聚体组成及其有机碳分布特征   总被引:5,自引:0,他引:5  
选取中国西南喀斯特石灰土人工林、次生林、原生林3个主要森林类型的6个代表性群落,建立18个20m×20m的样方,按梅花型5点法采集各样方的原状土壤,基于团聚体的干湿筛2种分组方法,研究不同类型森林石灰土机械性、水稳性团聚体组成及全土、各粒级团聚体的有机碳分布特征。结果显示:(1)3类森林石灰土干湿筛团聚体均以>2mm粒径为主,分别为67.93%~81.24%和30.49%~76.81%,1~10mm粒径的干湿筛优势团聚体分别高达78.18%~88.67%和43.41%~84.00%。(2)团聚体的整体稳定性很好,干湿筛平均重量直径(MWD)为4.82~5.77和0.75~2.13,平均几何直径(GMD)为2.87~4.17和1.45~2.85;>0.25mm和>2mm粒径的团聚体破坏率(PAD)分别仅为6.15~20.91和2.04~52.79。(3)石灰土的有机碳含量很高,全土和干、湿筛团聚体的有机碳含量分别为17.28~58.85、19.12~91.47、17.16~78.86g/kg,其中干筛以<2mm粒径团聚体的有机碳含量较高,湿筛反之,但干湿筛均以>2mm粒径团聚体的有机碳贮量最高。研究表明,中国西南喀斯特石灰土林区土壤沿人工林、次生林、原生林土壤扰动递减梯度,石灰土的团聚化作用越来越强,稳定性越来越好,有机碳含量也越来越丰富。  相似文献

喀斯特地区的"岩溶干旱"和频繁的变水环境成为喀斯特地区植被生长和分布的重要选择压力,是该地区植被恢复重建的主要障碍因子。N沉降也会对喀斯特地区的生态系统造成难以预测的影响。为了探究喀斯特地区草本植物对干湿交替和N添加的生长响应,以苍耳(Xanthium sibiricum)和三叶鬼针草(Bidens pilosa)为研究对象,通过盆栽水分受控实验,研究了5种不同水分处理[对照组(CK)、干旱组(D)、1周干湿交替处理组(DW-1)、2周干湿交替处理组(DW-2)和3周干湿交替处理组(DW-3)]与N添加(N+、N-)对两种草本植物生长和生物量的影响。结果表明,干旱胁迫抑制了植物生长和生物量的积累,株高、叶面积、总根长和根体积等生长指标和地上生物量均显著降低,根冠比增大。不同程度的干湿交替对植物的生长和生物量的积累均表现出一定程度的补偿效应,但这种补偿效应的大小随着干旱持续时间的延长而减弱。N添加对植物的生长和生物量积累有显著地促进作用,株高、根表面积、根体积和根生物量较对照组显著增加,但这种促进作用随着干旱历时的增加而减弱,可能与土壤水分状况有关。同时,N添加还影响着植物生物量的分配,在促进两种植物地上和地下生长的同时,还促进了植物根冠比的增加。  相似文献

Two populations of Stachys recta growing in Italy on ultramafic and calcareous soils have been studied for their essential oils. Although the yields were comparable, the composition of the essential oils differed significantly. Plants growing on ultramafic soil produced mainly non-terpene derivatives (55.7%), of which the most abundant ones were 1-octen-3-ol (38.2%) and (E)-3-hexen-1-ol (5.9%); the terpenes α-cadinol (6.1%) and δ-cadinene (5.6%) were also significantly represented. In contrast, the populations living on calcareous soil produced an essential oil dominated by terpenes (93.8%), with germacrene D (18.8%), β-caryophyllene (17.7%), 1,8-cineole (15.9%) and α-pinene (14.2%) among the main components.  相似文献

High soil carbonate limits crop performance especially in semiarid or arid climates. To understand how plants adapt to such soils, we explored natural variation in tolerance to soil carbonate in small local populations (demes) of Arabidopsis thaliana growing on soils differing in carbonate content. Reciprocal field‐based transplants on soils with elevated carbonate (+C) and without carbonate (?C) over several years revealed that demes native to (+C) soils showed higher fitness than those native to (?C) soils when both were grown together on carbonate‐rich soil. This supports the role of soil carbonate as a driving factor for local adaptation. Analyses of contrasting demes revealed key mechanisms associated with these fitness differences. Under controlled conditions, plants from the tolerant deme A1(+C) native to (+C) soil were more resistant to both elevated carbonate and iron deficiency than plants from the sensitive T6(?C) deme native to (?C) soil. Resistance of A1(+C) to elevated carbonate was associated with higher root extrusion of both protons and coumarin‐type phenolics. Tolerant A1(+C) also had better Ca‐exclusion than sensitive T6(?C). We conclude that Arabidopsis demes are locally adapted in their native habitat to soils with moderately elevated carbonate. This adaptation is associated with both enhanced iron acquisition and calcium exclusion.  相似文献

Population genetic patterns of species at their range margin have important implications for species conservation. We performed allozyme electrophoresis of 19 loci to investigate patterns of the genetic structure of 17 populations (538 individuals) of the butterfly Polyommatus coridon, a monophagous habitat specialist with a patchy distribution. The butterfly and its larval food plant Hippocrepis comosa reach their northern distribution margin in the study region (southern Lower Saxony, Germany). Butterfly population size increased with host plant population size. The genetic differentiation between populations was low but significant (FST = 0.013). No isolation-by-distance was found. Hierarchical F-statistics revealed significant differentiation between a western and an eastern subregion, separated by a river valley. The combination of genetic and ecological data sets revealed that the expected heterozygosity (mean: 18.5%) decreased with increasing distance to the nearest P. coridon population. The population size of P. coridon and the size of larval food plant population had no effect on the genetic diversity. The genetic diversity of edge populations of P. coridon was reduced compared to populations from the centre of its distribution. This might be explained by (i). an increasing habitat fragmentation towards the edge of the distribution range and/or (ii). a general reduction of genetic variability towards the northern edge of its distribution.  相似文献

Iron (Fe) chlorosis is common in olive (Olea europaea L.) trees growing on highly calcareous soils in Southern Spain, where generally causes reduction in yield, size and commercial value of the olives. The objective of this research was to study the effectiveness of synthetic vivianite (Fe3(PO4)2H2O) to reduce Fe chlorosis in olive. Experiments were established in three orchards with cultivars `Hojiblanco', `Manzanillo', and `Picual'. The design was a randomised block design with two or three treatments (control with no Fe fertiliser and vivianite at one or two rates). A vivianite suspension (0.05 kg dm–3 water) was injected into the soil at 10–20 points around the tree at the depth of maximum root density (25–35 cm). The rates (and times of application) were 0.5 and 1 kg tree–1 for `Hojiblanco' (March 1997), 1 kg tree–1 for `Manzanillo' (March 1998), and 2 kg tree–1 for `Picual' (March 1998). The leaf chlorophyll content index (CCI) was estimated on the youngest expanded leaves by means of a Minolta apparatus (SPAD units). The colour index of the olives was estimated by visual comparison with a scale ranging from 1 (pale yellow) to 8 (normal green). For the period studied (July 1997–November 1999), the CCI of fertilised trees was, in general, significantly higher than that of control trees, and so was the case with the olive colour index. Olive yield, measured in the experimental fields with `Hojiblanco' (in 1999) and `Manzanillo' (in 1998 and 1999), was higher for the fertilised than for the control trees but differences were only significant in 1999. These results suggest that vivianite is effective to reduce Fe chlorosis for more than two seasons. Such effectiveness is probably due to the poorly crystalline Fe(III) oxides (which are good sources of Fe to plants) that result from the slow oxidation and incongruent dissolution of vivianite.  相似文献

  • 1 This paper aims to demonstrate the use of available vegetation data from the phytosociological literature in preliminary analyses to generate hypotheses regarding vegetation and climate change.
    • 2 Data for over 3000 samples of calcareous grassland, mesotrophic grassland, heath and woodland vegetation were taken from the literature for a region in the west of Atlantic Europe and subjected to ordination by detrended correspondence analysis in order to identify the main gradients present.
      • 3 Climate data were obtained at a resolution of 0.5° from an existing database. The relationship between vegetation composition and climate was investigated by the correlation of the mean scores for the first two ordination axes for each 0.5° cell with the climate and location variables.
        • 4 The ordinations resulted in clear geographical gradients for calcareous grasslands, heaths and woodlands but not for mesotrophic grasslands. Significant correlations were shown between some of the vegetation gradients and the climate variables, with the strongest relationships occurring between the calcareous grassland gradients and July temperature, latitude and oceanicity. Some of the vegetation gradients were also inferred to reflect edaphic factors, management and vegetation history.
          • 5 Those gradients that were related to temperature were hypothesized to reflect the influence of a progressively warmer climate on species composition, providing a baseline for further studies on the influence of climate change on species composition.
          • 6 The validity of the literature data was assessed by the collection of an original set of field data for calcareous grasslands and the subsequent ordination of a dataset containing samples from both the literature and the field. The considerable overlap between the samples from the literature and the field suggest that literature data can be used, despite certain limitations. Such preliminary analyses, using readily available data, can thus achieve useful results, thereby saving lengthy and costly field visits.

We investigated the distribution of genetic variation and the relationship between population size and genetic variation in the rare plant Gentianella germanica using RAPD (random amplified polymorphic DNA) profiles. Plants for the analysis were grown from seeds sampled from 72 parent plants in 11 G. germanica populations of different size (40-5000 fruiting individuals). In large populations, seeds were sampled from parents in two spatially distinct subpopulations comparable in area to the total area covered by small populations. Analysis of molecular variance revealed significant genetic variation among populations (P <0.001), while genetic variation among subpopulations was marginally significant (P <0.06). Average molecular variance within subpopulations in large populations did not differ significantly from whole-population values. There was a positive correlation between genetic variation and population size (P <0.01). Genetic variation was also positively correlated with the number of seeds per plant in the field (P <0.02) and the number of flowers per planted seed in a common garden experiment (P <0.051). We conclude that gene flow among natural populations is very limited and that reduced plant fitness in small populations of G. germanica most likely has genetic causes. Management should aim to increase the size of small populations to minimize further loss of genetic variation. Because a large proportion of genetic variation is among populations, even small populations are worth preserving.  相似文献

Abstract 1. Habitat fragmentation is considered one of the major threats to invertebrate diversity in semi‐natural grassland. However, the effects of habitat fragmentation through mowing on the rich insect fauna of these grasslands have not been sufficiently investigated and experiments are especially rare. 2. We studied the impact of small‐scale grassland fragmentation on orthopterans over 7 years in an experiment which allowed us to additionally investigate the effect of frequent mowing on Orthoptera communities. 3. Overall, Orthoptera density and species richness increased over time. This was likely a result of increased small‐scale habitat heterogeneity and the provision of a short‐turf habitat suitable for xerophilous species. The fragmentation affected orthopteran density and species composition but not species richness whose response lagged behind the changes in abundance. 4. Responses differed between suborders. Ensifera density was higher in fragment than in control plots. Caelifera density did not differ between fragment and control plots. The mown matrix was an unsuitable habitat for most of the species, particularly within the Ensifera. 5. Our experiment shows that even small‐scale fragmentation can affect Orthopteran communities and that the effects became more pronounced over time. As the mown matrix was unsuitable for many Ensifera species, they may go locally extinct when large areas are mown simultaneously.  相似文献

Assessments of restoration are usually made through vegetation community surveys, leaving much of the ecosystem underexamined. Invertebrates, and ants in particular, are good candidates for restoration evaluation because they are sensitive to environmental change and are particularly important in ecosystem functioning. The considerable resources currently employed in restoring calcareous grassland on ex‐arable land mean that it is important to gather as much information as possible on how ecosystems change through restoration. We compared ant communities from 40 ex‐arable sites where some form of restoration work had been implemented between 2 and 60 years previously, with 40 paired reference sites of good quality calcareous grassland with no history of improvement or cultivation. A total of 11 ant species were found, but only two of these were found to be significantly different in abundance between restoration and reference sites: Myrmica sabuleti was more likely to be present in reference sites, whereas Lasius niger was more likely to be found in restoration sites. Myrmica sabuleti abundance was significantly positively correlated with age of restoration sites. The potential number of ant species found in temperate grasslands is small, limiting the information their assemblages can provide about ecosystem change. However, M. sabuleti is a good indicator species for calcareous grassland restoration success and, alongside information from the plant community, could increase the confidence with which restoration success is judged. We found the survey to be quick and simple to carry out and recommend its use.  相似文献
