Concentrations of UVB (ultraviolet B) absorbing pigments and anthocyanins were measured in three moss species, over a summer growing season in Antarctica. Pigment concentrations were compared with a range of climatic variables to determine if there was evidence that pigments were induced by UVB radiation, or other environmental parameters, and secondly if there were differences between species in their pigment responses. Significant seasonal differences in the potential UVB screening pigments were found, with the two cosmopolitan species Bryum pseudotriquetrum and Ceratodon purpureus appearing better protected from the potentially damaging effects of ozone depletion than the Antarctic endemic Schistidium antarctici. B. pseudotriquetrum accumulated the highest concentration of UVB screening pigments and showed positive associations between UVB radiation and both UVB absorbing and anthocyanin pigments. The negative associations between water availability measures and UVB absorbing and anthocyanin pigments also suggest that B. pseudotriquetrum is well protected in the desiccated state. This could offer B. pseudotriquetrum an advantage over the other species when high UVB radiation coincides with low temperatures and low water availability, thus limiting physiological activity and consequently, active photoprotective and repair mechanisms. As these pigments could act as either direct UVB screens or antioxidants, the results suggest that B. pseudotriquetrum is best equipped to deal with the negative effects of increased exposure to UVB radiation due to ozone depletion. The most exposed species, C. purpureus, has intermediate and stable concentrations of UVB absorbing pigments suggesting it may rely on constitutive UVB screens. Anthocyanin pigments were more responsive in this species and could offer increased antioxidant protection during periods of high UVB radiation. S. antarctici appears poorly protected and showed no evidence of any UV photoprotective response, providing additional evidence that this endemic is more vulnerable to climate change. 相似文献

The palisade cell sizes in leaves of Eucalyptus pauciflora were estimated in paradermal sections of cryo-fixed leaves imaged in the cryo-scanning electron microscope, as a quantity called the cell area fraction (CAF). Cell sizes were measured in detached leaves as a function of leaf water content, in intact leaves in the field during a day"s transpiration as a function of balance pressure of adjacent leaves, and on leaf disks equilibrated with air of relative humidities from 100 to 58%. Values of CAF ranged from 0.82 at saturation to approx. 0.3 in leaves dried to a relative water content (RWC) of 0.5, and in the field to approx. 0.58 at 15 bar (1.5 MPa) balance pressure. At a CAF of 0.58, the moisture content of the cell walls is in equilibrium with air at 90% relative humidity, which is the estimated relative humidity in the intercellular spaces. It is shown that at this moisture content, the cell walls could be exerting a pressure of approx. 50 bar on the cell contents. 相似文献

Summary. Mediterranean ecosystems are characterized by seasonal and annual fluctuations in humidity and temperature which are considered
limiting factors for plant growth and might have played a key role in the selection of species that compose the present vegetation.
After anther release, pollen is generally exposed to various changes of temperature and humidity conditions, therefore its
viability and consequently successful fruit set are strongly affected by these environmental parameters. The aim of this research
was to study the effect of different combinations of humidity and temperature on pollen membrane integrity of Rosmarinus officinalis L. in order to investigate possible relations between pollen features and climatic conditions during flowering. This species
is an evergreen perennial shrub, occurring among the sclerophyllous vegetation of Mediterranean maquis. In many areas of Southern
Italy, it shows a flowering period starting from the beginning of winter and spreading throughout spring months. The analysis
of data showed that duration of pollen viability of R. officinalis is enhanced by the co-occurrence of low temperature and high humidity. Moreover, these conditions are able to newly raise
the viability of pollen kept at higher temperatures and lower humidity. These observations indicate that reactivation of the
pollen membrane depends on low temperature apart from high humidity. Therefore “vernalization” of rosemary pollen enhances
its viability, supporting that pollen behavior is adapted to winter condition and allows flowering in winter and early spring.

槐庶尺蛾性信息素腺体EAG活性成分绝对构型的鉴定(英文) 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
槐庶尺蛾Semiothisa cinerearia Bremer et Grey (鳞翅目: 尺蛾科)是我国北方国槐Sophora japonica L.上的重要食叶害虫。本研究的主要目的是阐明槐庶尺蛾性信息素成分化学结构的绝对构型, 为在城市地区环境友好地防控槐庶尺蛾的为害提供一种新方法。经与标准品比较气相色谱保留时间和质谱特征离子, 从槐庶尺蛾处女雌蛾(2-3日龄)性信息素腺体溶剂提取物中检测到顺6, 顺9-顺-3, 4-环氧-十七碳二烯烃和顺3, 顺6, 顺9-3, 6, 9-十七碳三烯烃2种成分, 在腺体中以100∶4.8±1.3 (N=12)的比例存在。槐庶尺蛾性信息素腺体提取物进一步经手性毛细管色谱柱(CycloSil-B, 30 m×0.25 mm×0.25 μm 液膜厚)分离, 在优化的程序升温条件下发现腺体成分顺6, 顺9-顺-3, 4-环氧-十七碳二烯烃具有3R, 4S的绝对构型。两种合成的对映异构体混合物顺6, 顺9-3R, 4S-环氧-十七碳二烯烃和顺6, 顺9-3S, 4R-环氧-十七碳二烯烃以1.28∶1的比例加到腺体提取物中, 比例变为1.55∶1。根据这一分析, 腺体成分顺6, 顺9-顺-3, 4-环氧-十七碳二烯烃进一步确认具有3R, 4S的绝对构型。该研究结论将为生产上研发高效的槐庶尺蛾性信息素诱芯奠定坚实的基础。 相似文献

Genetically modified plants, in the following referred to as genetically modified organisms or GMOs, have been commercially grown for almost two decades. In 2010 approximately 10% of the total global crop acreage was planted with GMOs (James, 2011). More than 30 countries have been growing commercial GMOs, and many more have performed field trials. Although the majority of commercial GMOs both in terms of acreage and specific events belong to the four species: soybean, maize, cotton and rapeseed, there are another 20 + species where GMOs are commercialized or in the pipeline for commercialization. The number of GMOs cultivated in field trials or for commercial production has constantly increased during this time period. So have the number of species, the number of countries involved, the diversity of novel (added) genetic elements and the global trade. All of these factors contribute to the increasing complexity of detecting and correctly identifying GMO derived material. Many jurisdictions, including the European Union (EU), legally distinguish between authorized (and therefore legal) and un-authorized (and therefore illegal) GMOs. Information about the developments, field trials, authorizations, cultivation, trade and observations made in the official GMO control laboratories in different countries around the world is often limited, despite several attempts such as the OECD BioTrack for voluntary dissemination of data. This lack of information inevitably makes it challenging to detect and identify GMOs, especially the un-authorized GMOs. The present paper reviews the state of the art technologies and approaches in light of coverage, practicability, sensitivity and limitations. Emphasis is put on exemplifying practical detection of un-authorized GMOs. Although this paper has a European (EU) bias when examples are given, the contents have global relevance. 相似文献

The proteomic response to bacterial infection in a teleost fish (Paralichthys olivaceus) infected with Streptococcus parauberis was analyzed using label-free protein quantitation coupled with LC-MS(E) tandem mass spectrometry. A total of 82 proteins from whole kidney, a major lymphoid organ in this fish, were found to be differentially expressed between healthy and diseased fish analyzed 6, 24, 72 and 120 h post-infection. Among the differentially expressed proteins, those involved in mediating immune responses (e.g., heat shock proteins, cathepsins, goose-type lysozyme and complement components) were most significantly up-regulated by infection. In addition, cell division cycle 48 (CDC48) and calreticulin, which are associated with cellular recovery and glycoprotein synthesis, were up-regulated in the universal protein group, whereas the other proteins in that group were down-regulated. There was continuous activation of expression of immune-associated proteins during infection, but there was also loss of expression of proteins not involved in immune function. We expect that our findings regarding immune response at the protein level would offer new insight into the systemic response to bacterial infection of a major immune organ in teleost fish. 相似文献

为了研究亚高温下不同空气湿度对番茄植株光合作用及物质积累的影响,本试验利用人工气候室,在11:00—15:00平均温度为33℃的亚高温条件下,设置3个空气相对湿度处理,分别为70%~80%(高湿)、50%~60%(中湿)和不加湿的30%~40%(低湿)。结果表明:在处理25d时,高湿处理番茄叶片叶绿素含量、净光合速率显著高于低湿处理,而低湿处理果实空洞率比高湿处理高18.4%(P<0.05);在33℃亚高温条件下,70%~80%的相对湿度有利于光合作用的增强和果实品质的提高。 相似文献

目的:探讨彩色多普勒超声评价无水酒精治疗肝细胞癌早期疗效的临床应用价值。方法:利用彩色多普勒血流显像(CDFI)、彩色多普勒能量图(CDE)检查技术,经皮无水酒精瘤内注射(PEI)治疗52例肝细胞癌(肿块直径1.65.0cm),疗程结束后一周,以CDFI及CDE血流显示的有无作为评价PEI早期疗效的观察指标,并行组织学活检病理检查。结果:52个肿块经PEI治疗后,CDFI及CDE示大部分肿块血流信号消失,小部分肿块能检出血流信号,但较治疗前明显减少。以病理检查结果为金标准,CDFI及CDE评价PEI治疗后肿瘤的灭活情况,其敏感性为:50.0%、77.8%,准确性为78.8%、90.4%,Kappa值为:0.486、0.779。结论:CDFI、CDE动态监控PEI治疗过程对指导治疗意义重大,CDFI、CDE评价PEI结果客观、可靠,CDE可以敏感而直观地显示PEI治疗后肿瘤周边及内部残存的血流信号,对指导PEI治疗、时机及靶目标的选择以提高疗效具有重要的临床应用价值。 相似文献
