The erythro-2,3-dihydroxyoctadecanoic acid studied is a synthetic homologue of a natural occurring constituent of sphingolipids. The potassium salt of the acid crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2, with the unit cell dimension: . The crystal structure was solved by direct methods and was refined to R = 0.062. The absolute configuration of the compound was determined by means of anomalous scattering effects, showing that the natural fatty acid has d-erythro configuration. The compound packs tail to tail in an unusual bilayer arrangement. The hydrocarbon chains have an extreme tilt of 60° and opposite inclination in the two halves of the bilayer. Laterally the hydrocarbon chains are arranged according to the monoclinic M∥ packing mode. The carbon chain makes a perpendicular bent at carbon atom 2. This places the 2-hydroxyl group in a preferred co-planar conformation towards the carboxylate group and at hydrogen bond distance to one of the carboxylate oxygens. The carboxylate group and the two hydroxyl groups are co-ordinated to K+ ions and together account for a large molecular cross-ection of 38 Å2. Monolayer studies show that the acid forms a phase with this spacious molecular area also in contact with water. On compression above 10 mN m?1 transition to a more condensed state () takes place accompanied by marked changes of the surface potential. 相似文献

13C NMR spectroscopy has demonstrated that the major components (~80%) of 24 - ethyl - 5α -cholest - 7 - en - 3β - ol and 24 - ethyl - 5α - cholesta - 7,trans - 22 - dien - 3β - ol isolated from the roots of Trichosanthes japonica are the 24α-epimers, 22-dihydrospinasterol and spinasterol, accompanied by minor amounts (~20%) of their 24β-epimers, 22-dihydrochondrillasterol and chondrillasterol, respectively. The possible biosynthetic pathway leading to these sterols is discussed. This seems to be the first instance of the detection of 22-dihydrochondrillasterol in a higher plant. 相似文献

Given the increasing environmental impacts associated with global agri‐food systems, operating and developing these systems within the so‐called absolute environmental boundaries has become crucial, and hence the absolute environmental sustainability concept is particularly relevant. This study introduces an approach called absolute sustainability‐based life cycle assessment (ASLCA) that informs the climate impacts of an agri‐food system (on any economic level) in absolute terms. First, a global carbon budget was calculated that is sufficient to limit global warming to below 2°C. Next, a share of the carbon budget available to the global agri‐food sector was estimated, and then it was shared between agri‐food systems on multiple economic levels using four alternative methods. Third, the climate impacts of those systems were calculated using life cycle assessment methodology and were benchmarked against those carbon budget shares. This approach was used to assess a number of New Zealand agri‐food systems (agri‐food sector, horticulture industries and products) to investigate how these systems operated relative to their carbon budget shares. The results showed that, in 2013, the New Zealand agri‐food systems were within their carbon budget shares for one of the four methods, and illustrated the scale of change required for agri‐food systems to perform within their carbon budget shares. This method can potentially be extended to consider other environmental impacts with global boundaries; however, further development of the ASLCA is necessary to account for other environmental impacts whose boundaries are only meaningful when defined at a regional or local level. 相似文献
