The Schiff base ligands, N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyacetophenone)-1,2-diaminoethane (acphenH2) and N,N′-bis(2-hydroxyacetophenone)-1,3-diaminopropane (acphpnH2), prepared in situ were used to synthesise two new Mn(III) complexes which were characterised by crystallography and variable temperature magnetic measurements. [Mn(acphen)NCS]2 is a phenoxo-bridged dimeric compound with the thiocyanate coordinating in the usual bent mode (Mn-N-C angle, 152°) and is weakly antiferromagnetic. Since there are no significant inter-dimer contacts in the crystal, the low temperature magnetic behaviour is influenced by single ion zero-field splitting. Exact diagonalisation of the spin Hamiltonian was performed to derive the following parameters: J = −0.7 cm−1, D = −0.6 cm−1. Mn(acphpn)(H2O)NCS is monomeric with an unusual linearly coordinated thiocyanate (Mn-N-C angle, 178°). Two lattice water molecules link the Mn(III) complex molecules through hydrogen bonds to form one-dimensional chains in the crystal. Magnetic exchange along the chain makes this compound also weakly antiferromagnetic with J ∼ -2 cm−1. 相似文献

In a series of studies on brain functions of histamine, probes to manipulate activities of histaminergic neuronal systems were applied to assess histaminergic function in non-obese normal, and lean and obese Zucker rats. Food intake was suppressed by both activation of H1-receptors and inhibition of H3-receptors in the ventromedial hypothalamic nucleus (VMH) and the paraventricular nucleus, each of which is a satiety center. Feeding circadian rhythm was decreased in its amplitude through histaminergic modulation in the hypothalamus. Histamine neurons in the mesencephalic trigeminal nucleus (Me5) were involved in regulation of masticatory functions, particularly eating speed, while histamine-containing neurons in the VMH controlled intake volume of meals. Energy deficiency in the brain enhanced satiation through histaminergic activation of VMH neurons, which in turn produced glycogenolysis in the hypothalamus to maintain homeostatic control of glucose supply. A very-low-calorie conventional Japanese diet, which is a fiber rich and low energy food source, enhanced satiation by increased mastication and because of the low energy supply of the diet. Hypothalamic histamine neurons were activated by high ambient temperature and also by interleukin-1β, an endogenous pyrogen, to maintain homeostatic thermoregulation. Behavioral and metabolic abnormalities of Zucker obese rats were mediated by a deficit in hypothalamic neuronal histamine, and the Zucker rat was evaluated as an animal model of histamine deficiency. Transplantation of the lean fetal hypothalamus into the third cerebroventricle of host obese Zuckers attenuated the abnormalities. 相似文献

Three-dimensional electron tomographic studies of thick specimens such as cellular organelles or supramolecular structures require accurate interpretations of transmission electron micrograph intensities. In addition to microscope lens aberrations, thick specimen imaging is complicated by additional distortions resulting from multiple elastic and inelastic scattering. Extensive analysis of the mechanism of image formation using electron energy-loss spectroscopy and imaging as well as exit wavefront reconstruction demonstrated that multiple scattering does not contribute to the coherent component of the exit wave (Hanet al.,1996, 1995). Although exit wavefront restored images showed enhanced contrast and resolution, that technique, which requires the collection of more than 30 images at different focus levels, is not practical for routine data collection in 3D electron tomography, where usually over 100 projection views are required for each reconstruction. Using a 0.7-μm-thick specimen imaged at 200 keV, the accuracy of reconstructions using small numbers of defocused images and a simple linear filter (Schiske, 1968) was assessed by comparison to the complete exit wave restoration. We demonstrate that only four optimal focus levels are required to effectively restore the coherent component (deviation 5.1%). By contrast, the optimal single image (zero defocus) shows a 25.5% deviation to the exit wave restoration. Two pairs of under- and over-defocus images should be taken: one pair at quite high defocus (>10 μm) to differentiate the coherent (single elastic scattering) from the incoherent (multiple elastic and inelastic scattering) components, and the second pair to optimize information content at the highest desired resolution (e.g., 5 μm for (2.5 nm)−1resolution). We also propose a new interpretation of the restored amplitude and phase components where the specimen mass-density is proportional to the logarithm of the amplitude component and linearly related to the phase component. This approach should greatly facilitate the collection of high resolution tomographic data from thick samples. 相似文献

Changes in chlorophyll a fluorescence during the day and diurnal-changes of net CO2-exchange and organic acid contents were determined in two species of the genus Clusia during the dry season in Venezuela. The investigations included plants of the C3/CAM intermediate species Clusia minor and the C3 species C. multiflora growing at exposed and shaded sites. Both species showed a C3 pattern of net CO2-exchange at the exposed site. In the shade under extreme drought stress C. minor showed a weak expression of CAM without CO2-uptake during the afternoon (phase IV of CAM). C. multiflora growing in the shade exhibited a C3-pattern of net CO2-exchange and a small but significant nocturnal accumulation of citrate. Shaded plants of C. minor were able to double their light utilisation for electron transport and to reduce non-photochemical quenching during phase
III compared to phase II of CAM. Furthermore, increase of electron transport rate through photosystem II in phase III of CAM
is correlated to decarboxylation of malate. At the exposed site C. multiflora was less negatively affected by high PPFD than C. minor. This was shown by a lower reduction of potential electron quantum yield (Fv/Fm) and higher light utilisation of electron transport of C. multiflora compared to C. minor. At the exposed site C. minor did not make use of the CAM option to increase light utilisation of electron transport and to reduce non-photochemical quenching
as did the plants growing in the shade.

In this paper is presented an investigation of the influence of the internal structure of pores in membranes on a) the time dependent macroscopic relaxation current after a voltage jump, b) the macroscopic frequency dependent admittance and c) the microscopic current fluctuations around stationary (nonequilibrium) states. All these quantities are determined by the time dependent transport equations, which are calculated with the use of the eigenvectors and eigenvalues of the matrix of coefficients, occurring in the transport equations. Numerical calculations for channels with up to 31 barriers are presented. The treatment of the fluctuations is done with the use of a general approach to nonequilibrium transport noise recently developed by one of the authors. It is shown that the influence of the internal barrier structure as, e.g., the height of central or decentral barriers in the pores is of great complexity. Nevertheless we hope that the calculations lead to a better understanding especially of the microscopic nonequilibrium transport fluctuations in complex systems.This work has been supported by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft 相似文献

比较腹腔镜辅助阴式子宫全切术(LAVH)与经腹部子宫全切术(TAH)的临床效果。方法:收集我院2004年6月至2006年1月接受以上两种途径子宫切除术的病例共150例的临床资料。其中LAVH100例(LAVH组),TAH50例(TAH组),比较两组手术时间、术中出血量、术后病率及住院时间等。结果:LAVH组术中出血量、术后病率及住院时间均明显小于TAH组,差异有统计学意义(P<0.01),但LAVH组手术时间与TAH组比较,差异无统计学意义(P>0.5)。结论:LAVH创伤小、病人痛苦少,术后恢复快。 相似文献

Determining climate change feedbacks from tropical rainforests requires an understanding of how carbon gain through photosynthesis and loss through respiration will be altered. One of the key changes that tropical rainforests may experience under future climate change scenarios is reduced soil moisture availability. In this study we examine if and how both leaf photosynthesis and leaf dark respiration acclimate following more than 12 years of experimental soil moisture deficit, via a through‐fall exclusion experiment (TFE) in an eastern Amazonian rainforest. We find that experimentally drought‐stressed trees and taxa maintain the same maximum leaf photosynthetic capacity as trees in corresponding control forest, independent of their susceptibility to drought‐induced mortality. We hypothesize that photosynthetic capacity is maintained across all treatments and taxa to take advantage of short‐lived periods of high moisture availability, when stomatal conductance (gs) and photosynthesis can increase rapidly, potentially compensating for reduced assimilate supply at other times. Average leaf dark respiration (Rd) was elevated in the TFE‐treated forest trees relative to the control by 28.2 ± 2.8% (mean ± one standard error). This mean Rd value was dominated by a 48.5 ± 3.6% increase in the Rd of drought‐sensitive taxa, and likely reflects the need for additional metabolic support required for stress‐related repair, and hydraulic or osmotic maintenance processes. Following soil moisture deficit that is maintained for several years, our data suggest that changes in respiration drive greater shifts in the canopy carbon balance, than changes in photosynthetic capacity. 相似文献

The tuatara (Sphenodon punctatus) is the only living representative of Rhynchocephalia, a group of small vertebrates that originated about 250 million years ago. The tuatara has been referred to as a living fossil; however, the group to which it belongs included a much greater diversity of forms in the Mesozoic. We explore the morphological diversity of Rhynchocephalia and stem lepidosaur relatives (Sphenodon plus 13 fossil relatives) by employing a combination of geometric morphometrics and comparative methods. Geometric morphometrics is used to explore cranium size and shape at interspecific scale, while comparative methods are employed to test association between skull shape and size and tooth number after taking phylogeny into account. Two phylogenetic topologies have been considered to generate a phylomorphospace and quantify the phylogenetic signal in skull shape data, the ancestral state reconstruction as well as morphological disparity using disparity through time plots (DTT). Rhynchocephalia exhibit a significant phylogenetic signal in skull shape that compares well with that computed for other extinct vertebrate groups. A consistent form of allometry has little impact on skull shape evolution while the number of teeth significantly correlates with skull shape also after taking phylogeny into account. The ancestral state reconstruction demonstrates a dramatic shape difference between the skull of Sphenodon and its much larger Cretaceous relative Priosphenodon. Additionally, DTT demonstrates that skull shape disparity is higher between rather than within clades while the opposite applies to skull size and number of teeth. These results were not altered by the use of competing phylogenic hypotheses. Rhynchocephalia evolved as a morphologically diverse group with a dramatic radiation in the Late Triassic and Early Jurassic about 200 million years ago. Differences in size are not marked between species whereas changes in number of teeth are associated with co‐ordinated shape changes in the skull to accommodate larger masticatory muscles. These results show that the tuatara is not the product of evolutionary stasis but that it represents the only survivor of a diverse Mesozoic radiation whose subsequent decline remains to be explained. 相似文献

Nano-black lipid membranes (nano-BLMs) were obtained by functionalization of highly ordered porous alumina substrates with an average pore diameter of 60 nm based on a self-assembled alkanethiol submonolayer followed by spreading of 1,2-diphytanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine dissolved in n-decane on the hydrophobic substrate. By means of impedance spectroscopy, we analyzed the influence of the self-assembled alkanethiol submonolayer on the electrical properties of the nano-BLMs as well as their long-term stability. We were able to stably integrate nano-BLMs into a flow through system, which allowed us to readily exchange buffer solutions several times and accounts for mass transport phenomena. The ionophore valinomycin was successfully inserted into nano-BLMs and its transport activity monitored as a function of different potassium and sodium ion concentrations reflecting the specificity of valinomycin for potassium ions. 相似文献
