通过分析珍稀濒危植物峨眉含笑(Michelia wilsonii)种子与果实的表型性状特征,研究其变异规律和空间自相关性,为峨眉含笑天然种群的保护利用工作提供依据。以雅安周公山的峨眉含笑为研究对象,测定12项种实表型性状指标,采用变异系数和半方差函数,探究峨眉含笑种实的空间变异特征。结果显示:(1)峨眉含笑种实表型性状的平均变异系数为27.59%,种实的形态变异程度最小,种子性状的变异程度比果实性状更为丰富。(2)聚合果下部的种子败育率与蓇葖败育率最高,分别为18.32%和38.22%;中部的败育率最低,分别为15.05%和23.45%。(3)半方差函数模型以指数和球状模型为主,呈聚集分布。除果实长、种子纵径和种子败育率外,其余9项指标具有中高等强度的空间自相关性。(4)9项指标的各向异性比接近于1,空间异质性表现为各向同性。因此,峨眉含笑种实表型性状在中等尺度的空间范围内具有丰富的变异性。 相似文献

Structural changes of tissues in unpollinated ovaries of Pisum sativum L. cv. Alaska after treatment with different plant growth substances (gibberellic acid, 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid, and 6-benzyladenine) or decapitation of the plant were studied. All the treatments resulted in the prevention of cellular disorganization associated with ovary senescence. They effected the enlargement of mesocarp cells and the differentiation of endocarp cells in very similar patterns, suggesting a similar induction of the structural processes involved in fruit development. Ultrastructural changes in mesocarp cells after treatment with gibberellic acid showed that rapid enlargement of mesocarp cells was sustained mainly by a reorganization of the membrane systems directed to the sysnthesis of primary cell wall. A basic question in insect–plant interactions is whether the insects respond to, or regulate plant traits, or a complex mixture of the two. The relative importance of the directions of the influence in insect–plant interactions has therefore been articulated through both the plant vigor hypothesis (PVH) and the resource regulation hypothesis (RRH). This study tested the applicability of these hypotheses in explaining the interactions between Parthenium hysterophorus L. (Asteraceae) and its stem‐galling moth, Epiblema strenuana Walker (Lepidoptera: Tortricidae). Parthenium plants exposed to galling were sampled at three sites in north Queensland, Australia, over a 2‐year period, and the relationship between gall abundance and plant vigor (plant height, biomass, flowers per plant, and branches per plant) was studied. To test the predictions of PVH and RRH, the vigor of parthenium plants protected from galling using insecticides was compared to galled plants and plants that escaped from galling. The vigor of ungalled plants was less than the vigor of galled plants. The higher plant vigor in galled plants was not due to galling, as was evident from insecticide exclusion trials. The insect seemed to preferentially gall the more vigorous plants. These findings support the predictions of the PVH and are contrary to those of RRH. Since gall abundance is linked to plant vigor, galling may have only a limited impact on the vigor of parthenium. This has implications for weed biological control. If the objective of biological control is to regulate the population of a plant by a galling insect, a preference for more vigorous plants by the insect is likely to limit its ability to regulate plant populations. This may explain the paucity of successes against biocontrol of annual weeds using gall insects. 相似文献

Complete mRNA sequence of transferrin from Galleria mellonella was obtained, and compared with those of other species. Until now, two types of insect transferrin were reported. Transferrins in cockroach and termite have two iron binding sites while those in most other insect groups, studied for the protein, have only one. It was suggested that the presence of two types of transferrin was related with transferrin evolution, because vertebrate transferrins have two iron binding sites, called N and C terminal lobe. It was shown that G. mellonella transferrin also has only one iron binding site (N terminal lobe), and the deduced amino acid sequence was most similar to those of Manduca sexta and Bombyx mori. 相似文献

Fruit color, fruit size and phenology of bird-disseminated plants were examined in different climatic zones of Japan and the relationships between the plants and frugivorous birds were disscussed.Black fruit was the most common in warm-temperate areas and red was the most common in cool-temperate and subarctic zones. Red was more dominant in the lower layer of the forests in all climatic zones. Bicolor fruits were frequent in trees and were not found in herbs. Both in warm- and cool-temperate zones conspicuous fruits which are red and bicolored display were more frequent in summer than in winter.The diameter of most fruits were 4–11 mm. Fruits in warm-temperate were somewhat bigger than those in cooltemperate zone. In forest strata the fruits of shrubs were smaller than those of trees and herbs in width. However I found no relationships between fruit size and fruit color.The frugivorous birds could have influenced not only the evolution of seasonal differences in the proportion of fruit color between warm-temperate and cool-temperate region, but also affect the fruit size. 相似文献

Seven glycosidases. β-glucosidase (EC 3.2.1.21) α-galactosidase (EC 3.2.1.22). β-galactosidase (EC 3.2.1.23). α-arabinosidase (EC 3.2.1.55), α-mannosidase (EC 3.2.1,24). β-xylosidase (EC 3.2.1.37) and β-N-acetylglucosamidase (EC 3.2.1.30). as well as Cx-cellulase (EC 3.2.1.4) and endo-polygalacturonase (EC 3.2.1.15). were identified in the cell wall preparation, at four stages of ripeness (mature green. changing colour, black and black-ripe). Activities of all these cell wall-associated enzymes fionicallv and covalently linked) were determined either by cell wall incubation with artificial substrate or after extraction from the cell wall with buffers of high salt concentration (Cx-cellulase). and were compared to those of forms solubilized from acetone powders with 500 nM citrate buffer (cytoplasmic and/or apoplastic plus ionically hound to cell wall) In general, the activities of low ionic strength buffer-soluble enzymes were found to be much higher than those of the bound enzymes. The bound enzymes are present in the fruit at the green colour stage, whereas the activities of the soluble enzymes only increased from the changing colour stage onwards. The tenacity of binding of enzymes to the wall was investigated by treating the walls with high salt and measuring residual activity. The nature of the ionic and covalent binding and the changes during ripening were also established for wall-hound glycosidase During ripening there was a marked change in the percentages of covalently- and tonically linked activities of β-glucosidase and β-galaclosidase: al the changing colour stages about 75–80% of the bound active in was present in high ionic strength buffer while al the black-ripe stage it was only 15–20. I considered the possibility that changes in fruit photosynthesis obscure the occurrence of the climacteric rise in respiration in tomato fruits attached to the plant. Internal CO2 and ethylene concentrations in tomatoes ( Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. cv. OH 7814) were analyzed after direct sampling through polyethylene tubes implanted in the external pericarp. Fruits which were shaded with aluminium foil contained up to 60 ml 1−1 CO2 , until the internal ethylene concentration exceeded 1 μl l−1 , when CO2 concentration declined to below 40 ml l−1 ; the CO2 concentration in fruits exposed to light only occasionally exceeded 40 ml 1−1 . The internal CO2 concentration of detached fruits first declined and then increased along with ethylene concentration, as expected for the climacteric. Detached green fruits under continuous low photosynthetic photon flux density (100 μmol m−2 s−1 ) contained almost no internal CO2 and produced no CO2 . Changes in photosynthesis and an associated CO2 -generating system in green fruits are thought to obscure the climacteric rise in tomato fruits developing on the plant. 相似文献

Eggplants (Solanum melongena L. cv. Bonica) were grown in a glasshouse during summer under natural light with one unbranched shoot or one shoot with 3
to 4 branches and with or without fruit in quartz sand buffered and not buffered with 0.5% CaCO3 (w : v), respectively. Nutrient solutions supplied contained nitrate or ammonium as the sole nitrogen source.
Compared with nutrient solutions containing nitrate (10 mM), solutions containing ammonium (10 mM) caused a decrease in net photosynthesis of eggplants during early stages of vegetative growth when grown in quartz sand
not buffered with CaCO3. The decrease was not observed before leaves showed interveinal chlorosis. In contrast, net photosynthesis after bloom at
first increased more rapidly in eggplants supplied with ammonium than with nitrate nitrogen. However, even in this case, net
photosynthesis decreased four weeks later when ammonium nutrition was continued. The decrease was accompanied by epinasty
and interveinal chlorosis on the lower leaves and later by severe wilting, leaf drop, stem lesions, and hampered growth of
stems, roots, and fruits. These symptoms appeared later on plants not bearing fruits than on plants bearing fruits. If nutrient
solutions containing increasing concentrations of ammonium (0.5–30 mM) were supplied after the time of first fruit ripening, shoot growth and set of later flowers and fruits were promoted. In
contrast, vegetative growth and reproduction was only slightly affected by increasing the concentration of nitrate in the
nutrient solutions.
In quartz sand buffered with CaCO3 ammonium nutrition caused deleterious effects only under low light conditions (shade) and on young plants during rapid fruit
growth. If eggplants were supplied with ammonium nitrogen before bloom, vegetative growth was promoted, and set of flowers
and fruit occurred earlier than on plants supplied with nitrate. Furthermore, the number of flowers and fruit yield increased.
These effects of ammonium nutrition were more pronounced when plants were grown with branched shoots than with unbranched
shoots.
The results indicate that vegetative and reproductive growth of eggplants may be manipulated without causing injury to the
plants by supplying ammonium nitrogen as long as the age of the plants, carbohydrate reserves of the roots, quantity of ammonium
nitrogen supplied, and pH of the growth medium are favourable. T W Rufty Section editor 相似文献
