The hypothesis that the Ajime-loach, Niwaella delicata, is guided to groundwater seepages by a positive thermotaxis in autumn, was tested by a field investigation and aquarium-based
experiments. A total of 763 individuals of N. delicata were captured from October to November in a groundwater trap in the Yasu River, Shiga Prefecture. Niwaella delicata began to be captured as the temperature of the surface water fell to 15.8° ± 1.1°C (mean ± SD) and that of the groundwater
to 15.5° ± 0.9°C. Groundwater was often warmer than surface water at night or occasionally all day, and the difference in
temperature reached a maximum of 1.3°C at the night on 5 November. For the diel pattern of captures, nocturnal capture was
higher than diurnal capture when the groundwater was warmer at night and colder during the daytime, whereas both diurnal and
nocturnal captures were high when the groundwater was always warmer than the surface water. The aquarium-based experiments
showed that N. delicata choose warmer water, ranging from 18.4° to 22.2°C, just before the capture period in the Yasu River, and are sensitive to
differences in water temperature of 1.3° ± 0.1°C. Although the present results broadly support the hypothesis, a part of the
results indicates that water temperature gradients may not be the only factor involved in the groundwater selection of N. delicata. 相似文献

Carbon carry capacity and carbon sequestration potential in China based on an integrated analysis of mature forest biomass 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Forests play an important role in acting as a carbon sink of terrestrial ecosystem.Although global forests have huge carbon carrying capacity(CCC)and carbon sequestration potential(CSP),there were few quantification reports on Chinese forests.We collected and compiled a forest biomass dataset of China,a total of 5841 sites,based on forest inventory and literature search results.From the dataset we extracted 338 sites with forests aged over 80 years,a threshold for defining mature forest,to establish the mature forest biomass dataset.After analyzing the spatial pattern of the carbon density of Chinese mature forests and its controlling factors,we used carbon density of mature forests as the reference level,and conservatively estimated the CCC of the forests in China by interpolation methods of Regression Kriging,Inverse Distance Weighted and Partial Thin Plate Smoothing Spline.Combining with the sixth National Forest Resources Inventory,we also estimated the forest CSP.The results revealed positive relationships between carbon density of mature forests and temperature,precipitation and stand age,and the horizontal and elevational patterns of carbon density of mature forests can be well predicted by temperature and precipitation.The total CCC and CSP of the existing forests are 19.87 and 13.86 Pg C,respectively.Subtropical forests would have more CCC and CSP than other biomes.Consequently,relying on forests to uptake carbon by decreasing disturbance on forests would be an alternative approach for mitigating greenhouse gas concentration effects besides afforestation and reforestation. 相似文献

探究国家重点生态功能区生态-经济-社会系统耦合协调的演化特征,对实现可持续发展目标、建设美丽中国有重要意义。运用耦合协调模型、剪刀差方法、耦合度模型以及VAR模型对2007—2019年阿勒泰地区EES系统耦合协调度的动态演化进行分析。结果表明:(1)2007—2019年阿勒泰地区整体耦合协调度呈现不断上升趋势,由2007年的中度失调(0.271)向2019年的轻度失调(0.371)演进,生态系统与经济系统、社会系统的发展水平呈现“X”型变动趋势,经济系统与社会系统持续上升,而生态系统略微下降。(2)经济系统与社会系统、生态系统与社会系统演化速率的剪刀差在2014年以后出现较大幅度的波动,而生态系统与经济系统演化速率的剪刀差趋于稳定态势,生态系统与经济系统、经济系统与社会系统的耦合度呈现出由无序到有序的初始过渡。(3)由脉冲响应函数及方差分解可得,阿勒泰地区EES系统耦合协调水平的提升是三系统共同作用的结果,前期主要由社会系统、经济系统驱动,后期主要依赖生态系统的改善。研究表明:国家重点生态功能区应着重减轻经济系统对社会系统和生态系统的胁迫强度,进而实现三者的协同发展。 相似文献

Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) are common contaminants in landfill leachate-contaminated aquifer. It is necessary to identify the microorganisms truly responsible for PAH degradation if bioremediation can be applied as an effective technology. DNA-based stable isotope probing (SIP) in combination with terminal restriction fragment length polymorphism (TRFLP) was used to identify the active anthracene degraders in the contaminated aquifer sediment. One kind of degrader was classified as Variovorax species within class ??-proteobacteria, but another belonged to unclassified bacteria. These findings also suggest novel microorganisms involved in PAH-degrading processes. 相似文献

The effects of temperature, water level and moon phase on the movements of pikeperch (Sander lucioperca) were studied during pre-spawning and spawning season from April to June. Trends in catches and temperature were removed
with linear regression. Cross-correlation analysis showed that temperature change one and two days earlier had the strongest
effect on catches. Close to the new moon, pikeperch catches increased, whereas changes in water level had no effects on movements.
