 青冈(Quercus glauca)林乔木层主要树种叶片的净光合速率日进程在春夏季晴天均有明显午休。常绿树种的光合速率在秋季最高,大量换叶期最低,冬季仍有一定的净光合量。落叶树种的光合速率和光合产量低于常绿树种,随着群落的发育其地位将降低。青冈和石栎(Lithocarpus glaber)的光合速率接近,但青冈能够利用较弱的光,因而其高叶量的树冠具有较高的光合总量,以保持其在群落中的优势种地位;石栎主要利用较强的光,其较低叶量的树冠可以维持较高的光合总量,以保证其次优势种地位。灌木、草本层种类光合日进程均为单峰型。灌木种类对光的需求较高。蕨类植物耐荫强,因而在林中能占有稳定的伴生地位。  相似文献

The effect of nitrogen stress on needle δ13C, water-use efficiency (WUE) and biomass production in irrigated and dry land white spruce (Picea glauca (Moench) Voss) seedlings was investigated. Sixteen hundred seedlings, representing 10 controlled crosses, were planted in the field in individual buried sand-filled cylinders. Two nitrogen treatments were imposed, nitrogen stressed and fertilized. The ranking of δ13C of the crosses was maintained across all combinations of water and nitrogen treatments and there was not a significant genetic versus environmental interaction. The positive relationships between needle δ13C, WUE and dry matter production demonstrate that it should be possible to use δ13C as a surrogate for WUE, and to select for increased WUE without compromising yield, even in nitrogen deficient environments. Nitrogen stressed seedlings had the lowest needle δ13C in both irrigated and dry land conditions. There was a positive correlation between needle nitrogen content and δ13C that was likely associated with increased photosynthetic capacity. There was some indication that decreased nitrogen supply led to increased stomatal conductance and hence lower WUE. There was a negative correlation between intrinsic water use efficiency and photosynthetic nitrogen use efficiency (NUE). This suggests that white spruce seedlings have the ability to maximize NUE when water becomes limited. There was significant genetic variation in NUE that was maintained across treatments. Our results suggest that in white spruce, there is no detectable effect of anaplerotic carbon fixation and that it is more appropriate to use a value of 29‰ (‘Rubisco only’) for the net discrimination against 13C during CO2 fixation. This leads to excellent correspondence between values of Ci/Ca derived from gas exchange measurements or from δ13C.  相似文献

通过样地调查,比较了苏门答腊金合欢、新银合欢的林分结实量、种子散布格局、种子密度及幼苗、幼树数量,并对影响天然更新的因素以及树种的适应性进行了分析;同时,使用灰色关联度法对两树种天然更新状况进行了综合评价.结果表明,相同年龄新银合欢树种的单株结实量为1 199粒/株,苏门答腊金合欢为566粒/株,同一树种单株平均结实量为混交林高于纯林;天然更新的新银合欢林单株结实量介于新银合欢和苏门答腊金合欢之间.随着距母树距离的增加,林地苏门答腊金合欢种子密度减少的幅度较新银合欢小,新银合欢种子的传播距离为90 m、苏门答腊金合欢为110 m.苏门答腊金合欢人工林、新银合欢人工林及天然更新的新银合欢林关联系数分别为0.7269、0.6000和0.6000,苏门答腊金合欢天然更新效果稍好.  相似文献

It was shown previously that the convexity (curvature or rate of bending) of the photosynthetic light response curve was strongly correlated with chlorophyll content in shade acclimated conifer needles (Leverenz 1987, Physiol. Plant. 71: 20–29), in agreement with an hypothesis that gradients of light within leaves affect the convexity. In the present study it is shown that the convexity at any given chlorophyll content can be altered when leaves of Pinus sylvestris L. Picea glauca (Muench), Picea mariana (M.II.) BS.P. and Picea abies (L.) Karst pre-treated with less shade. This probably induced a differential acclimation of cells on the top and bottom sides of the leaves to their local light environment. Leaves were illuminated on i) their top surface, ii) their bottom surface, or iii) uniformly in a light integrating sphere during measurements of photosynthesis. After shoots had been transferred from their growth environment to a new measuring environment, the convexity increased from the first to the second day towards a maximum of 0.97. The rate of increase towards this maximum was 55 to 62% per day and probably is the result of re-acclimation of cells within the leaves. The data shown that the act of measuring photosynthesis induces a significant alteration in the experimental material when measurements are made for more than one day.
The convexity of the light response curve of photosynthesis, was independent of whether the steady state measurements were made beginning in the dark and sequentially increasing photon flux density or beginning at high light and sequentially lowering photon flux density. Neither variation of CO2 concentration from 35 to 200 Pa, nor of temperature from 5° to 32°C affected the convexity.  相似文献

Aim The objectives of this study were to: (1) identify episodes of establishment and mortality of young and mature trees at several sites at the alpine tree line in the western Northwest Territories and the latitudinal tree line in northern Manitoba; (2) infer changes in the structure and location of the tree line from patterns of establishment; (3) evaluate any relationship between these changes and climate; and (4) investigate sources of variability between sampling sites and study areas. Location Taiga Cordillera of the western Mackenzie Mountains in the Northwest Territories, and the western Hudson Bay Lowlands in northern Manitoba, Canada. Methods Recent tree line dynamics were examined at six climatically similar sites: three in the western Mackenzie Mountains and three around Churchill, Manitoba. Dendroecological techniques were employed to construct static age distributions of species present at each site. Static age structures, residuals from modelled age distributions, and reconstructions of dynamic stand density were used to identify patterns of establishment and mortality and to compare these to changes in climate. Results Tree line locations advanced and stand density increased during the early‐to‐mid‐20th century around Churchill, although responses were not uniform across sites or species. Results were less conclusive in the Mackenzie Mountains, although the tree line probably advanced during the late 18th century, and stand infilling occurred during the mid‐20th century. Correlation analyses with temperature suggest that conditions during establishment and particularly during recruitment are crucial for controlling tree line dynamics. Main conclusions Tree line advance and stand infilling have continued to the present at Churchill, while the tree line has stagnated in the western Mackenzie Mountains. The results of this study indicate that site‐ and species‐specific responses play a large role in determining the tree line response at multiple scales, illustrating the complexity of tree line dynamics in the context of a changing climate.  相似文献

Abstract

By using the protoplast fusion technique, we have obtained 44 regenerated plants, phenotypically different and distinct from their parents, among which we have identified a fertile symmetric somatic hybrid, designated as TG-32, between N. tabacum var. Gexin No.1 and N. glauca. The morphology, fertility, chromosome number and nuclear constitution of the somatic hybrid have been studied in detail. Unlike other asymmetric interspecific somatic hybrids, the chromosome number of the symmetric somatic hybrid is 72, equal to the sum of chromosomes of both parents. The TG-32 plant has flowers similar to those of N. tabacum, but with petals similar to those of N. glauca. Interestingly the offspring of TG-32 vary in seed production ability with temperature, and produce more seeds under a relatively low temperature. Two SCAR markers were used to evaluate genetic variability and structure. The hybrid amplified the expected fragment, but the parents showed only one of two markers. This experimental result supports the hypothesis of the co-existence of two parental genomes in the somatic hybrid.  相似文献

利用样方法进行野外调查,每个样地大小20 m×20 m。采用生态位宽度、生态位相似比例和生态位重叠值公式统计分析了古田山自然保护区青冈林优势种群生态位特征。结果表明,古田山青冈林中青冈、马银花、木荷、甜槠、麂角杜鹃等具有较大的生态位宽度,其Bi、Ba分别为0.7974、0.6435、0.6272、0.5908、0.5783和0.7770、0.4012、0.4745、0.4171、0.4303;而光叶石楠和栲树的生态位宽度较小,Bi、Ba仅为0.3966、0.2716和0.1441、0.0825。生态位宽度大的种群间生态位相似比例较高,如青冈与马银花、麂角杜鹃的生态位相似比分别为0.6134、0.6056;反之则低,如光叶石楠和栲树生态位相似比为0.1039。生态位重叠与生态位宽度有一定的联系,高生态位宽度种群间的生态位重叠通常较大,反之则低。  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Burial is a recurrent stress imposed upon plants of coastal dunes. Woody plants are buried on open coastal dunes and in forested areas behind active blowouts; however, little is known about the burial responses and adaptive traits of these species. The objectives of this study were: (a) to determine the growth and morphological responses to burial in sand of seven woody plant species native to central Canadian coastal dunes; and (b) to identify traits that determine burial tolerance in these species. METHODS: Field experiments were conducted to determine the responses of each species to burial. Saplings were exposed to burial treatments of 0, 10, 25, 50 and 75 % of their height. Burial responses were evaluated based on regressions of total biomass, height, adventitious root production and percentage allocation to shoot, root and adventitious root biomass on percentage burial. KEY RESULTS: Pinus strobus and Picea glauca lacked burial tolerance. In response to the burial gradient, these species showed a strong linear decline in total biomass, minimal adventitious root production that peaked at moderate levels (25-50 % burial) and no change in allocation to shoots vs. roots. The tolerant species Juniperus virginiana, Thuja occidentalis and Picea mariana showed a quadratic response to burial, with little change in biomass up to 50 % burial, but a large decline at 75 %. These species produced abundant adventitious roots up to 50 % burial, but did not alter allocation patterns over the range of burial levels. Populus balsamifera and Salix cordata were stimulated by burial. These species showed linear increases in biomass with increasing burial, produced copious adventitious roots across the gradient and showed a clear shift in allocation to vertical shoot growth and adventitious root production at the expense of the original roots under high burial conditions. CONCLUSIONS: Adventitious root production and plastic resource allocation to biomass are adaptive traits of coastal dune woody plants in central Canada, and provide a basis for assessing burial tolerance in woody plants on coastal dunes throughout the world.  相似文献
