In this study, the effects of sludge retention time (SRT) on NH(4)-N oxidation and NO(x)-N accumulation in the nitritation reactors were studied. The gradually decrease of SRT also caused long reaction time to achieve 99% NH(4)-N removal. Although the target NH(4)-N removal was achieved in a short reaction time at 40 days of SRT, decreasing of SRT from 40 to 30, 25, 20 days, increase the reaction time from 168 to 240 and 265 h, respectively. The inlet NH(4)-N was almost oxidized and the concentration of NO(2)-N accumulated to a high level of 177 mg/l, while NO(2)-N/(NO(3)-N+NO(2)-N) ratio was about 0.9 at SRT of 40 days. However, the concentration of NO(3)-N increased slightly and NO(2)-N/(NO(x)-N) ratio dropped to 0.8 when the SRT was lower than 40 days. During the operation in a cycle, free ammonia concentration in the SBR was decreased from 2.8 to 0.7 mg/l which is below the lowest concentration causing inhibition of nitrite oxidizing bacteria (NOB). It was assumed that combined dissolved oxygen limitation and NH(3)-N inhibition on NOB caused NO(2)-N accumulation under the experimental conditions.  相似文献

Remazol brilliant blue R (RBBR) is an anthraquinone dye derived from anthracene that is decolorized by a white rot fungus, Phlebia brevispora. Interestingly, P. brevispora produces two phenomena of yellowish and pinkish colors during the degradation of RBBR. Here, we characterized the decolorization of RBBR by P. brevispora. The fungus was significantly different between the two colors via UV spectrophotometry, and the morphology of the hyphae observed in the respective color culture was also entirely different. Moreover, both of the two ligninolytic enzymes, laccase and manganese‐dependent peroxidase (MnP), were remarkably stimulated in the yellowish culture at the beginning of the decolorization. It is possible that the RBBR decolorizing mechanism might be primarily related to the amount of laccase and MnP produced in the yellowish culture. Thus, the decolorized color may be rapidly estimated at initial period of incubation. In addition, GeneFishing technology revealed that two genes were differentially expressed in yellowish culture.  相似文献

In the present study, resorption/abortion was induced between days 25 and 45 of gestation with aglepristone (group IRA, n=10). The aim was to observe the change in the distribution of progesterone (PR) and estrogen receptors (ER), in comparison to a group of spontaneous resorptions/abortions (group SRA, n=5), and a further group of normal healthy pregnant animals, ovariohysterectomized between days 25 and 45 of gestation (controls, n=7). The receptors were assessed by means of immunohistochemistry (IHC) and RT-PCR, at the placental and interplacental sites of the uterine horn as well as in the corpus uteri. Significant differences were observed between the controls on one side and the groups of resorption/abortion on the other side. The total scores of the progesterone receptors (TPR) in the placental and interplacental part of the uterine horn, was significantly lower in the endometrial stromal cells (ESC) of the control group than in those of the SRA- and IRA-group, respectively (placenta: 5.8 vs. 6.5 and 6.7, p<0.01; interplacental sites: 5.6 vs. 6.6 and 6.6, p<0.05). In contrary, the total scores of the estrogen receptors (TER) at interplacental sites and the corpus uteri, respectively, was significantly higher in the myometrial smooth muscle cells (MSMC) and the ESC (p<0.05) of the controls. We therefore conclude, that the here observed differences between groups point to an up-regulation of TPR- and a down-regulation of TER-scores in endometrial stromal cells at different uterine sites during resorption/abortion, which indicates a special role of these cells.  相似文献
