Identification of a RecA-like protein in Lactococcus lactis   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We have identified in Lactococcus lactis, an analogue of Escherichia coli RecA protein. Physiological responses such as ultraviolet (UV) and chemical mutagenesis and induction of prophage have been characterized and suggest the existence of RecA-like functions in this commercially important species. The putative RecA protein was detected at the position of an apparent molecular weight of 39 kDa by Western blot analysis by using antiserum against E coli RecA protein. In addition, the protein level is significantly increased after UV irradiation in a wild-type strain compared to the recombination deficient mutant strain.  相似文献

Chronic hepatitis C patients display many genotype-specific clinical features of HCV infection. The core proteins encoded by different genotypes dysregulate numerous sets of distinct host genes. In this study we tested the hypothesis that HCV core proteins 1b and 3a would actually act on a limited number of independent cellular players, as well as on several functionally linked gene products. Structural and functional tests identified a core set of host genes dysregulated by HCV core genotypes 1b and 3a. The core proteins of HCV genotypes 1b and 3a target specifically limited sets of functionally related gene products, which may be responsible for the variations in the clinical spectra associated with HCV infection.  相似文献

With the use of tissue-specific cDNA probes, several genes, which do not correspond to the class I (B-F), class II (B-L), or class IV (B-G) genes, were detected within the cosmid clusters containing the chicken major histocompatibility genes. We isolated cDNA clones with a probe corresponding to one of them, the 17.5 gene, located between two class I genes. The 17.5.3 cDNA, isolated from a chicken spleen cDNA library, encodes a 257-residue-long protein. This sequence shows significant similarity with several members of the C-type animal lectin superfamily and is probably a type II transmembrane protein. Analysis of several cDNA clones, together with Southern blot experiments, strongly suggest that this gene belongs to a multigene family, with at least some of its members being polymorphic. Several arguments lend support to the possibility that, together with the linked Mhc genes, the 17.5 gene is part of the recently described Rfp-Y system.The nucleotide sequence data reported in this paper have been submitted to the GenBank nucleotide sequence database and have been assigned the accession number M88072.  相似文献

TREX1 constitutes the major 3'-->5' DNA exonuclease activity measured in mammalian cells. Recently, biallelic mutations in TREX1 have been shown to cause Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome at the AGS1 locus. Interestingly, Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome shows overlap with systemic lupus erythematosus at both clinical and pathological levels. Here, we report a heterozygous TREX1 mutation causing familial chilblain lupus. Additionally, we describe a de novo heterozygous mutation, affecting a critical catalytic residue in TREX1, that results in typical Aicardi-Goutieres syndrome.  相似文献

The alkaline shock response in Enterococcus faecalis was studied in this work. Cells adapted to an optimum pH of 10.5 were tolerate to pH 11.9 conditions but acquired sensitivity to acid damage. An analysis of stress proteins revealed that 37 polypeptides were amplified. Two of these are DnaK and GroEL. The combined results show that bile salts and alkaline stress responses are closely related.  相似文献
