Abstract A new species of nematode, Heth baudini sp. n. from a diplopod (Spirostreptida: Iulomorphidae Verhoeff, 1924) collected in Queensland, Australia, is described and illustrated. The cephalic and cervical cuticular ornamentation of females of H. baudini sp. n. is similar to those of South-East Asian and Australasian Heth species. Heth baudini sp. n. females are particularly close to Heth taynguyeni from Vietnam but can be distinguished by the shape of the lateral lappets, which in H. taynguyeni limit the trapezium-shaped region of smooth cuticle unlike the elliptical region in H. baudini sp. n., and by the presence of lateral spines only half the size. The cuticle of the H. baudini sp. n. is finely annulated along the entire body, whereas H. taynguyeni has broader rings behind the first pair of lateral spines, each consisting of five or six narrower rings separated from each other by deeper furrows. Males of H. baudini sp. n. are characterised by the presence of a bursa-like fold on the tail and can be distinguished from other species of the genus by the presence of somatic papillae embedded into the bursal fold. 相似文献

Geometrical and electronic structures of neutral paramagnetic binuclear nitrosyl iron complexes with azaheterocyclic thyolyls [Fe2(μ-SR)2)(NO)4] with bridging ligands: aminomercaptotriazolyl, RC2N3H(NH2) (1), mercaptoimidazolyl, RC3N2H3 (2), methylmercaptoimidazolyl, RC3N2H2CH3 (3), and dihydromercaptoimidazolyl, RC3N2H5 (4) have been calculated by the methods of density functional, B3LYP and PBE. Coordination of bridging ligands corresponds to ‘S-C-N type’, more energetically preferable than μ-S type coordination. This results in big Fe?Fe distances, with the value of intramolecular exchange interaction being inconsiderable; therefore the complexes are paramagnetic at ambient temperature, with effective magnetic moment about 2.5 Bohr magneton. The interaction of the Fe atoms spins and intermolecular exchange are antiferromagnetic, and this should be taken into account while describing the temperature dependence of magnetic susceptibility. The electronic configuration of the Fe(NO)2 unit with one unpaired electron (similar to that in binuclear diamagnetic complexes) forms due to binding of spin 3/2 of Fe+d7 center with oppositely oriented spins 1/2 of two NO groups. Ecosystems of rice paddies are good sources of new strains of heterocyst-forming cyanobacteria that can be used in biotechnological systems for production of photohydrogen. The morphological and physiological properties of two novel epiphytic strains of cyanobacteria, Anabaena sp. 182 and Anabaena sp. 281, were studied. DNA typing of these strains based on PCR amplification of hydrogenase-encoding genes and DNA analysis using RAPD and Rep primers was carried out. The properties of the genome of strain Anabaena sp. 281 differed considerably from those of two reference strains (Anabaena variabilis ATCC 29413 and Nostoc sp. PCC 7120) with sequenced genomes, whereas strain Anabaena sp. 182 was found to be a close relative of A. variabilis ATCC 29413. Due to a number of physiological and biochemical advantages, Anabaena sp. 182 may be considered a new promising model for molecular and genetic engineering studies aimed at the development of H2 producers. 相似文献

The vibratory signals of four species of Asopinae (Pentatomidae) from European Russia are described for the first time. The signals emitted by adult bugs are classified into three types: male rivalry signals, male calling signals, and solitary low-amplitude signals with still unknown function. This paper presents a systematic study of the influence of electron‐transport materials on the operation stability of the inverted perovskite solar cells under both laboratory indoor and the natural outdoor conditions in the Negev desert. It is shown that all devices incorporating a Phenyl C61 Butyric Acid Methyl ester ([60]PCBM) layer undergo rapid degradation under illumination without exposure to oxygen and moisture. Time‐of‐flight secondary ion mass spectrometry depth profiling reveals that volatile products from the decomposition of methylammonium lead iodide (MAPbI3) films diffuse through the [60]PCBM layer, go all the way toward the top metal electrode, and induce its severe corrosion with the formation of an interfacial AgI layer. On the contrary, alternative electron‐transport material based on the perylendiimide derivative provides good isolation for the MAPbI3 films preventing their decomposition and resulting in significantly improved device operation stability. The obtained results strongly suggest that the current approach to design inverted perovskite solar cells should evolve with respect to the replacement of the commonly used fullerene‐based electron‐transport layers with other types of materials (e.g., functionalized perylene diimides). It is believed that these findings pave a way toward substantial improvements in the stability of the perovskite solar cells, which are essential for successful commercialization of this photovoltaic technology. 相似文献

Background
The chemical property and biological function of a protein is a direct consequence of its primary structure. Several algorithms have been developed which determine alignment and similarity of primary protein sequences. However, character based similarity cannot provide insight into the structural aspects of a protein. We present a method based on spectral similarity to compare subsequences of amino acids that behave similarly but are not aligned well by considering amino acids as mere characters. Summary Ethylenediamine (EDA) is toxic to the cyanobacterium Anabaena variabilis and inhibits nitrogenase activity. The inhibition of nitrogenase was prevented by pretreatment of cells with l-methionine-d,l-sulphoximine (MSX). Mutant strains of Anabaena variabilis (ED81, ED92), resistant to EDA, had low levels of glutamine synthetase (GS) biosynthetic activity compared with the wild type strain. ED92 had a low level of GS protein whereas ED81 had a similar level to that of the parent strain as estimated using antibodies against GS. Both strains fixed N2 and liberated NH4
+ into the media. Following immobilization of the mutant strains, sustained photoproduction of NH4

Inorganic pyrophosphatase must bind two phosphate molecules in order to catalyze pyrophosphate synthesis. In this report it is shown that Pi causes marked effect on the absorption spectrum of baker's yeast inorganic pyrophosphatase and this effect can be used to analyze Pi binding to this enzyme. A series of absorbance versus Pi concentration curves in the presence of 0.5-20 mM free Mg2+ were obtained at pH 7.2 and computer-fitted to 19 models. The dissociation constant of magnesium phosphate (8.5 +/- 0.4 mM) used in this analysis was measured with a Mg2+-sensitive electrode. The best model implies successive binding of two magnesium phosphate molecules or random-order binding of magnesium phosphate and free phosphate molecules. The first route predominates at physiological concentrations of Mg2+. The Pi-inhibition pattern of pyrophosphate hydrolysis confirmed that Pi adds to the active site and provided further evidence for the existence of an activating Pi-binding site. The possibility is raised that the pathways of pyrophosphate synthesis and hydrolysis by inorganic pyrophosphatase may differ in the sense that the binding of the fourth metal ion/subunit may facilitate the synthesis and inhibit the hydrolysis. 相似文献

Reactions of azobenzene have been studied with heteronuclear iron-lithium compounds formed in the reaction of FeCl3 with LiPh, one of the dinitrogen reducing systems of the Vol'pin type: Ph4FeLi4(OEt2)4 (1) and (H2)FePh4Li4(OEt2)4 (2). The structures of the azobenzene complexes formed, (N2Ph2)3FeLi3(OEt2)3 (3) and (N2Ph2)3FeLi2(THF)2 (4), as well as an ether-containing analog of the latter, (N2Ph2)3FeLi2(OEt2)2 (5), were determined by X-ray analysis of single crystals. Coordination of azobenzene at FeLi3 and FeLi2 clusters was shown to result in a sigificant elongation of the NN bond; partial cleavage of this bond on protolysis of the complexes resulted in the formation of hydrazobenzene and aniline. Magnetic susceptibility measurements and theoretic analysis of a similar model complex leads to the conclusion that the iron oxidation state in 3 may be considered between iron (I) and iron(III) (close to iron(I)), whereas in 4 and 5 it is close to iron(II). 相似文献

Summary Several mutants of the unicellular blue-green alga Synechocystis aquatilis Sanv. were isolated. They differed from the wild type by the levels of sensitivity to ultraviolet (UV) irradiation. The most sensitive mutant is unable to carry out photoreactivation and shows increased resistance to mitomycin C, N-methyl-N-nitro-N-nitrosoguanidine and methyl methanesulfonate. This strain shows an enhanced rate of spontaneous and UV-induced mutagenesis. Another UV-sensitive mutant with normal level of X-ray sensitivity is characterized by a decreased mutability. The three other UV-sensitive mutants show simultaneous decrease of resistance to X-ray and alkylating agents. The existence of these cross-sensitive mutants indicates that a repair mechanism may operate in blue-green algae similar to dark repair systems of bacteria and yeast. 相似文献
