Primary reconstruction of 36 major human bite wounds of the face without clinical infection has been carried out successfully as late as the fourth day after the initial injury. Primary healing was achieved in all patients. The postoperative period was free from major infection in all patients except one, including the latecomers. Extensive bacteriologic studies reveal that the infection in human bite wounds occurs secondarily as invasion to devitalized tissue. We therefore consider that debridement of wound edges to eliminate the crushed devitalized tissue is the key to success. 相似文献

Response surface methodology was employed to study the effect of temperature and initial pH on the production of β-1,3-glucanase and carboxymethylcellulase from Trichoderma harzianum in both surface culture and submerged culture experiments. The efficiency of the enzymes in generating protoplasts from Trichoderma reesei mycelium was also studied. Regression analysis was performed on the data obtained. A temperature of 30°C and an initial pH of 4.7 were found to be optimal for β-1,3-glucanase production from T. harzianum in both surface culture and submerged culture processes. 相似文献

Lemna minor L. roots were treated with different concentrations of NaCl. Lipid peroxidation was investigated histochemically and biochemically.
At higher NaCl concentrations an increase in staining was observed in the root apices as compared to control for lipid peroxidation
and loss of membrane integrity as well as an increase in contents of thiobarbituric acid reactive substance and peroxide.
Both the non-enzymic antioxidants, ascorbate and glutathione increased with the NaCl concentration in the roots. Whereas an
increase in superoxide dismutase, guaiacol peroxidase, and glutathione reductase activities were marked, catalase activity
decreased in the roots under NaCl stress.

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has continued evolving for survival and adaptation by mutating itself into different variants of concern, including omicron. Several studies and clinical trials found fluvoxamine, an Food and Drug Administration-approved antidepressant drug, to be effective at preventing mild coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) from progressing to severe diseases. However, the mechanism of fluvoxamine's direct antiviral action against COVID-19 is still unknown. Fluvoxamine was docked with 11 SARS-CoV-2 targets and subjected to stability, conformational changes, and binding free energy analyses to explore its mode of action. Of the targets, nonstructural protein 14 (NSP14), main protease (Mpro), and papain-like protease (PLpro) had the best docking scores with fluvoxamine. Consistent with the docking results, it was confirmed by molecular dynamics simulations that the NSP14 N7-MTase ((N7-guanine)-methyltransferase)–fluvoxamine, Mpro–fluvoxamine, and PLpro–fluvoxamine complexes are stable, with the lowest binding free energies of −105.1, −82.7, and − 38.5 kJ/mol, respectively. A number of hotspot residues involved in the interaction were also identified. These include Glu166, Asp187, His41, and Cys145 in Mpro, Gly163 and Arg166 in PLpro, and Glu302, Gly333, and Phe426 in NSP14, which could aid in the development of better antivirals against SARS-CoV-2. 相似文献

The combined effect of sorbitol and yeast extract of the medium on tartaric acid production by Gluconobacter suboxydans, NCIM 2049, was studied in batch fermentation while keeping the temperature (30?°C) and pH (6.2) constant. Response surface methodology was used to obtain quadratic models for the production of tartaric acid. The multiple coefficients of regression between 0.8945 and 0.9820 was obtained during the process. The optimum medium composition comprising 20?kg/m3 sorbitol and 2?kg/m3 yeast extract was verified experimentally by observing the variation of cell mass and tartaric acid production with time. 相似文献
