The present study explores the role of the meteorological variability in the pollen production and the timing of the airborne pollen season by analysis of the correlation between precipitation, insolation and temperature and the main standardised airborne pollen parameters of 22 taxa collected at 6 localities in Catalonia (NE Spain). The pollen parameters included in the study were: Annual Pollen Integral and the Start, End and Length of the Main Pollen Season. Considering that the Main Pollen Season of most of the taxa in Catalonia lasts from spring to summer or autumn, correlations between the pollen parameters and winter (from December to March) values of meteorological variables were calculated. Correlations between Monthly Pollen Integral and monthly values of the meteorological variables were also calculated. The results obtained report the synchronism registered in the variations of pollen concentration with precipitation (negative), insolation (positive) and temperature (positive). Temperature was the meteorological variable that showed a greater influence in the pollen production and the timing of the pollen season, being insolation the least one. The Start of the Main Pollen Season was the pollen parameter more correlated with the meteorological variables, especially with winter temperatures. 相似文献

Anorexia nervosa is an eating disorder often associated with intestinal disorders. To explore the underlying mechanisms of these disorders, the colonic proteome was evaluated during activity‐based anorexia. Female C57Bl/6 mice were randomized into three groups: Control, Limited Food Access (LFA) and Activity‐Based Anorexia (ABA). LFA and ABA mice had a progressive limited access to food but only ABA mice had access to an activity wheel. On colonic mucosal protein extracts, a 2D PAGE‐based comparative proteomic analysis was then performed and differentially expressed proteins were identified by LC‐ESI‐MS/MS. Twenty‐seven nonredundant proteins that were differentially expressed between Control, LFA, and ABA groups were identified. ABA mice exhibited alteration of several mitochondrial proteins involved in energy metabolism such as dihydrolipoyl dehydrogenase and 3‐mercaptopyruvate sulfurtransferase. In addition, a downregulation of mammalian target of rapamycin (mTOR) pathway was observed leading, on the one hand, to the inhibition of protein synthesis, evaluated by puromycin incorporation and mediated by the increased phosphorylation of eukaryotic elongation factor 2, and on the other hand, to the activation of autophagy, assessed by the increase of the marker of autophagy, form LC3‐phosphatidylethanolamine conjugate/Cytosolic form of Microtubule‐associated protein 1A/1B light chain 3 (LC3II/LC3I) ratio. Colonic mucosal proteome is altered during ABA suggesting a downregulation of energy metabolism. Murine dermis contains functionally and spatially distinct fibroblast lineages that cease to proliferate in early postnatal life. Here, we propose a model in which a negative feedback loop between extracellular matrix (ECM) deposition and fibroblast proliferation determines dermal architecture. Virtual‐tissue simulations of our model faithfully recapitulate dermal maturation, predicting a loss of spatial segregation of fibroblast lineages and dictating that fibroblast migration is only required for wound healing. To test this, we performed in vivo live imaging of dermal fibroblasts, which revealed that homeostatic tissue architecture is achieved without active cell migration. In contrast, both fibroblast proliferation and migration are key determinants of tissue repair following wounding. The results show that tissue‐scale coordination is driven by the interdependence of cell proliferation and ECM deposition, paving the way for identifying new therapeutic strategies to enhance skin regeneration. 相似文献

The present investigation was conducted to determine the pollen types and their quantities in the atmosphere of Obregón City (a semiarid region) and establish the relationship with meteorological parameters in 2008 and 2011. A bimodal pattern with peaks in dry warm (spring) and late rainy (autumn) seasons was observed. The highest monthly pollen indexes were observed in October 2008 and September 2011. Precipitation in 2008 was 2.6 times higher than in 2011, beginning in June in both years, and ending in November (2008) and September (2011). Main pollen types were Poaceae, Chenopodiaceae/Amaranthaceae, Asteraceae and Parkinsonia (the latter was dominant in the dry warm season). Statistical correlations (Spearman’s rank-order correlation p < 0.05) with meteorological parameters were performed. In both sampling years, relative humidity caused adverse effects on the atmospheric pollen content, while temperature, solar radiation and wind speed in the dry season were associated with increased pollen indexes. Compared to other studies of semiarid areas, the pollen index at Obregón is low, which is attributed to a relatively high humidity and to the large area of grain crops surrounding the city. 相似文献

Morphogenesis in animal tissues is largely driven by actomyosin networks, through tensions generated by an active contractile process. Although the network components and their properties are known, and networks can be reconstituted in vitro, the requirements for contractility are still poorly understood. Here, we describe a theory that predicts whether an isotropic network will contract, expand, or conserve its dimensions. This analytical theory correctly predicts the behavior of simulated networks, consisting of filaments with varying combinations of connectors, and reveals conditions under which networks of rigid filaments are either contractile or expansile. Our results suggest that pulsatility is an intrinsic behavior of contractile networks if the filaments are not stable but turn over. The theory offers a unifying framework to think about mechanisms of contractions or expansion. It provides the foundation for studying a broad range of processes involving cytoskeletal networks and a basis for designing synthetic networks. 相似文献

Rapid improvement in photoconversion efficiency (PCE) of solution processable organometallic hybrid halide based perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have taken the photovoltaic (PV) community with a surprise and has extended their application in other electronic devices such as light emitting diodes, photo detectors and batteries. Together with efforts to push the PCE of PSCs to record values >22% – now at par with that of crystalline silicon solar cells – origin of their PV action and underlying physical processes are also deeply investigated worldwide in diverse device configurations. A typical PSC consists of a perovskite film sandwiched between an electron and a hole selective contact thereby creating ESC/perovskite and perovskite/HSC interfaces, respectively. The selective contacts and their interfaces determine properties of perovskite layer and also control the performance, origin of PV action, open circuit voltage, device stability, and hysteresis in PSCs. Herein, we define ideal charge selective contacts, and provide an overview on how the choice of interfacing materials impacts charge accumulation, transport, transfer/recombination, band‐alignment, and electrical stability in PSCs. We then discuss device related considerations such as morphology of the selective contacts (planar or mesoporous), energetics and electrical properties (insulating and conducting), and its chemical properties (organic vs inorganic). Finally, the outlook highlights key challenges and future directions for a commercially viable perovskite based PV technology. 相似文献
