The contamination of apples Gloster variety withPenicillium expansum was investigated in the case study. The apples serve as a raw material in thefood industry for processing of baby foodstuffs
and other apple products. The core of 3 – 5 % apple samples has been contaminated with spores and mycelium of untested microfungi.
The surface tissue of stored apples has not been damaged.
Penicillium expansum was isolated in all tested apple samples. Patulin has been found at levels tens to hundreds of üg/kg in tested apple samples.
Patulin was primarily associated with core and areas of decomposing tissue and can penetrate up to approx. 1 cm of the surrounding
healthy tissue. The production of patulin after the experimental contamination of apples was tested after 14 days of storage
(21 °C, dark). The maximum value of patulin was found 110 mg/kg of rotten part of apple sample. 相似文献

Brain energy disorders can be present in aged men and animals. To this respect, the mitochondrial and free radical theory of aging postulates that age‐associated brain energy disorders are caused by an imbalance between pro‐ and anti‐oxidants that can result in oxidative stress. Our study was designed to investigate brain energy metabolism and the activity of endogenous antioxidants during their lifespan in male Wistar rats. In vivo brain bioenergetics were measured using 31P nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and in vitro by polarographic analysis of mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation. When compared to the young controls, a significant decrease of age‐dependent mitochondrial respiration and adenosine‐3‐phosphate (ATP) production measured in vitro correlated with significant reduction of forward creatine kinase reaction (kfor) and with an increase in phosphocreatine (PCr)/ATP, PCr/Pi and PME/ATP ratio measured in vivo. The levels of enzymatic antioxidants catalase, GPx and GST significantly decreased in the brain tissue as well as in the peripheral blood of aged rats. We suppose that mitochondrial dysfunction and oxidative inactivation of endogenous enzymes may participate in age‐related disorders of brain energy metabolism. 相似文献

The connection of two active molecules across an easily released bridge as a new type of potentially active molecule has been studied. Migration of neurons during cortical development is often assumed to rely on purely post-proliferative reelin signaling. However, Notch signaling, long known to regulate neural precursor formation and maintenance, is required for the effects of reelin on neuronal migration. Here, we show that reelin gain-of-function causes a higher expression of Notch target genes in radial glia and accelerates the production of both neurons and intermediate progenitor cells. Converse alterations correlate with reelin loss-of-function, consistent with reelin controlling Notch signaling during neurogenesis. Ectopic expression of reelin in isolated clones of progenitors causes a severe reduction in neuronal differentiation. In mosaic cell cultures, reelin-primed progenitor cells respond to wild-type cells by further decreasing neuronal differentiation, consistent with an increased sensitivity to lateral inhibition. These results indicate that reelin and Notch signaling cooperate to set the pace of neocortical neurogenesis, a prerequisite for proper neuronal migration and cortical layering. 相似文献

A series of photosynthetic electron transport (PET) inhibitors from the group of salicylanilide alkylcarbamates was investigated. The compounds were analyzed using RP-HPLC to determine lipophilicity, and their PET inhibition was determined in spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) chloroplasts. The site of action of the studied compounds is situated at the donor site of photosystem 2 (PS 2). Compounds substituted by chlorine in C′-3 and C′-4 of the aniline ring and the optimal length of the alkyl chain pentyl-heptyl in the carbamate moiety provided the most active PET inhibitors (IC50 inhibition <10 μmol/L). Disubstitution in C′-3,4 by chlorine caused significant PET inhibiting activity decrease. Nevertheless, for all three series of C′-3, C′-4, C′-3,4 compounds, the dependence of PET activity on lipophilicity showed to be quasi-parabolic. 相似文献

We present here a general system for the coordination attachment of therapeutic proteins to a drug delivery system and its application in combined therapy. Proof of concept is demonstrated by the synthesis and testing of the targeted drug delivery system for cytostatics, which is based on a combination of the drug carrier Zn-porphyrin-cyclodextrin conjugates and their supramolecular coordination complexes with immunoglobulins. This system can be as readily used for a variety of therapeutic and targeting proteins including PAs, MAs, lectins, and HSA. Moreover, it allows combined photodynamic therapy, cell targeted chemotherapy and immunotherapy. When tested in a mouse model with human C32 carcinoma, the therapeutic superiority of the coordination assembly nanosystem was shown in comparison with the efficacy of building blocks used for the construction of the system. 相似文献
