This paper presents a mathematical model for the learning of accurate human arm movements. Its main features are that the
movement is the superposition of smooth submovements, the intrinsic deviation of arm movements is considered, visual and kinesthetic
feedback are integrated in the motion control, and the movement duration and accuracy are optimized with practice. This model
is consistent with the jerky arm movements of infants, and may explain how the adult motion behavior emerges from the infant
behavior. Comparison with measurements of adult movements shows that the kinematics of accurate movements are well predicted
by the model.

Humans skillfully manipulate objects and tools despite the inherent instability. In order to succeed at these tasks, the sensorimotor control system must build an internal representation of both the force and mechanical impedance. As it is not practical to either learn or store motor commands for every possible future action, the sensorimotor control system generalizes a control strategy for a range of movements based on learning performed over a set of movements. Here, we introduce a computational model for this learning and generalization, which specifies how to learn feedforward muscle activity in a function of the state space. Specifically, by incorporating co-activation as a function of error into the feedback command, we are able to derive an algorithm from a gradient descent minimization of motion error and effort, subject to maintaining a stability margin. This algorithm can be used to learn to coordinate any of a variety of motor primitives such as force fields, muscle synergies, physical models or artificial neural networks. This model for human learning and generalization is able to adapt to both stable and unstable dynamics, and provides a controller for generating efficient adaptive motor behavior in robots. Simulation results exhibit predictions consistent with all experiments on learning of novel dynamics requiring adaptation of force and impedance, and enable us to re-examine some of the previous interpretations of experiments on generalization. 相似文献

Background
High density genotyping data are indispensable for genomic analyses of complex traits in animal and crop species. Maize is one of the most important crop plants worldwide, however a high density SNP genotyping array for analysis of its large and highly dynamic genome was not available so far.Results
We developed a high density maize SNP array composed of 616,201 variants (SNPs and small indels). Initially, 57 M variants were discovered by sequencing 30 representative temperate maize lines and then stringently filtered for sequence quality scores and predicted conversion performance on the array resulting in the selection of 1.2 M polymorphic variants assayed on two screening arrays. To identify high-confidence variants, 285 DNA samples from a broad genetic diversity panel of worldwide maize lines including the samples used for sequencing, important founder lines for European maize breeding, hybrids, and proprietary samples with European, US, semi-tropical, and tropical origin were used for experimental validation. We selected 616 k variants according to their performance during validation, support of genotype calls through sequencing data, and physical distribution for further analysis and for the design of the commercially available Affymetrix® Axiom® Maize Genotyping Array. This array is composed of 609,442 SNPs and 6,759 indels. Among these are 116,224 variants in coding regions and 45,655 SNPs of the Illumina® MaizeSNP50 BeadChip for study comparison. In a subset of 45,974 variants, apart from the target SNP additional off-target variants are detected, which show only a minor bias towards intermediate allele frequencies. We performed principal coordinate and admixture analyses to determine the ability of the array to detect and resolve population structure and investigated the extent of LD within a worldwide validation panel.Conclusions
The high density Affymetrix® Axiom® Maize Genotyping Array is optimized for European and American temperate maize and was developed based on a diverse sample panel by applying stringent quality filter criteria to ensure its suitability for a broad range of applications. With 600 k variants it is the largest currently publically available genotyping array in crop species.Electronic supplementary material

In control, stability captures the reproducibility of motions and the robustness to environmental and internal perturbations.
This paper examines how stability can be evaluated in human movements, and possible mechanisms by which humans ensure stability.
First, a measure of stability is introduced, which is simple to apply to human movements and corresponds to Lyapunov exponents.
Its application to real data shows that it is able to distinguish effectively between stable and unstable dynamics. A computational
model is then used to investigate stability in human arm movements, which takes into account motor output variability and
computes the force to perform a task according to an inverse dynamics model. Simulation results suggest that even a large
time delay does not affect movement stability as long as the reflex feedback is small relative to muscle elasticity. Simulations
are also used to demonstrate that existing learning schemes, using a monotonic antisymmetric update law, cannot compensate
for unstable dynamics. An impedance compensation algorithm is introduced to learn unstable dynamics, which produces similar

The pituitary-adrenal secretory response to acute and chronic stress, suppressibility of adrenocortical secretions by exogenous glucocorticoids, and hypothalamic content and in vitro release of the two major peptidergic activators of the hypothalamo-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis, corticotropinreleasing hormone (CRH) and arginine-vasopressin (AVP), were examined in rats receiving daily melatonin (MEL) injections coincident with the circadian increment of endogenous pineal and adrenocortical secretory activity. After 7 days of MEL administration, the rats displayed a significant attenuation of the adrenocortical secretory response to acute and chronic stress. Chronic MEL treatment also prevented the decline in adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) release resulting from chronic stress exposure. Hypothalamic CRH content was significantly lower in rats receiving MEL treatment, while AVP remained largely unaltered; however, MEL administration counteracted the chronic stress-induced decrease in hypothalamic AVP content and in vitro release. When exposed to dexamethasone in vitro, hypothalamic explants from MEL-treated rats responded with a stronger suppression of CRH and AVP release than those originating from vehicle-injected animals. These observations indicate that MEL attenuates the adrenocortical response to stress and influences the biosynthesis, release and glucocorticoid responsiveness of hypothalamic ACTH secretagogues. 相似文献

Prenatal stress (PS) has been linked to abnormal cognitive, behavioral and psychosocial outcomes in both animals and humans. Since PS has been shown to induce a cerebellar cytoarchitectural disarrangement and cerebellar abnormalities that have been linked to an impairment of behavioral functions, the aim of the present work was to investigate whether the exposure to PS in a period in which the cerebellum is still immature can induce behavioral deficits in the adult and whether this alterations are correlated with changes in nitric oxide (NO) and cellular oxidative mechanisms in offspring’s cerebellum. Our results show impairments in spatial memory and territory discrimination in PS adult rats. PS offspring also displayed alterations in cerebellar nitric oxide synthase (NOS) expression and activity. Moreover, a correlation between spatial memory deficits and the increase in NOS activity was found. The results found here may point to a role of cerebellar NO in the behavioral alterations induced by stress during early development stages. 相似文献
