In energized rat liver mitochondria the simultaneous H+, K+ and C1- transport was studied by corresponding ion selective electrodes. It was shown that the C1- transport induced by valinomycin, by valinomycin plus carbonyclyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone was governed by the membrane potential. It is suggested that observed in energized mitochondria the C1- electrophoresis may servt as an indicator of membrane potential changes. 相似文献

The fine structure of the centriolar system was studied on serial sections of 90 endothelial cells of human aorta (50 to 60 years) in regions without atherosclerotic platelets and with fibrous and atheromatous platelets and of 30 endothelial cells of human embryonic aorta (22-24 weeks). The vast majority (95%) of endothelial cells of the atheromatous platelets were shown to have a primary cilium over 1 micron long which gives on the basal surface in all the cells. In the regions without platelets and with fibrous platelets a cilium was observed in about 20% of cells and it gives in the vessel lumen. Endothelial cells with a cilium fully embedded in the cytoplasm and with abnormal cilium structure were found in the embryonic aorta. A suggestion is put forward that cilia of the endothelial cells of embryonic aorta and those of adult aorta differ by the mechanism of their formation and can have different functions. 相似文献

It is shown that acute alcoholic intoxication causes essential changes of aldosterone content and balance of electrolytes in blood plasma of Wistar rat males. The SPL test revealed the inadequate reaction in the mineral-corticoid function of the adrenal glands in the rats with acute alcoholic intoxication. Using Fura-2AM microfluorimetry, it was shown for the first time that phospholipase A2 inhibitors 4-bromophenacyl bromide and glucocorticosteroids prednisolone and dexamethasone attenuate Ca2+ responses induced by neuroleptic trifluoperazine in macrophages. Glutamate receptors play the key role in excitatory synaptic transmission in the central nervous system (CNS). N-methyl-D-aspartate-activated glutamate receptors (NMDARs) are ion channels permeable to sodium, potassium, and calcium ions that localize to the pre- and postsynaptic membranes, as well as extrasynaptic neuronal membrane. Calcium entry into dendritic spines is essential for long-term potentiation (LTP) and long-term depression (LTD) of synaptic transmission. Both LTP and LTD represent morphological and functional changes occurring in the process of memory formation. NMDAR dysfunction is associated with epilepsy, schizophrenia, migraine, dementia, and neurodegenerative diseases. Prolonged activation of extrasynaptic NMDARs causes calcium overload and apoptosis of neurons. Here, we review recent findings on the molecular mechanisms of calcium-dependent NMDAR desensitization that ensures fast modulation of NMDAR conductance in the CNS and limits calcium entry into the cells under pathological conditions. We present the data on molecular determinants related to calcium-dependent NMDAR desensitization and functional interaction of NMDARs with other ion channels and transporters. A brief history of comparative studies of nucleic acids for systematic purposes is given. These studies were initiated by a group of Moscow State University scientists headed by A. N. Belozersky. A comparative study of the conformation dynamics of a series of heptapeptides: the human alpha-fetoprotein fragment LDSYQCT and its seven analogues has been conducted. The effect of the dielectric constant of medium on the dynamics of heptapeptide conformation is considered. It is shown that electrostatic interactions have a marked effect on several accessible conformations and the dynamics of the behavior of amino acid residues. 相似文献
