A pentachlorophenol(PCP)-degrading Pseudomonas sp. strain UG30 was encapsulated in κ-carrageenan for use in PCP degradation. Free and encapsulated cells were compared for their ability to dechlorinate and mineralize 100–800 μg/ml sodium pentachlorophenate in broth. Dechlorination was measured with a chloride ion electrode, and mineralization was measured by 14CO2 evolution from radiolabelled [U-14C]PCP. Free and encapsulated Pseudomonas sp. UG30 cells mineralized up to 200 μg/ml and 600 μg/ml PCP, respectively, after 21 days. Encapsulation of UG30 cells provided a protective effect, allowing dechlorination and mineralization of high levels of PCP to occur. The physiological characteristics of growth and pentachlorophenol degradation of the bacteria Sphingomonas chlorophenolica RA2 and Mycobacterium chlorophenolicum PCP-1 were studied quantitatively in liquid culture under various conditions of pH, temperature, pO2, pCO2 and PCP concentration. Concerning their metabolic properties, RA2 and PCP-1 can be regarded as r-strategist and K-strategist, respectively. RA2 showed a higher activity concerning growth and PCP degradation than PCP-1 under optimum conditions. However, PCP-1 performed better under extreme conditions. Maximum growth rates or RA2 and PCP-1 on glucose were 0.21 h−1 and 0.024 h−1 and maximum PCP degradation rates 315 and 40 μmol (g of dry cells)−1 h−1, respectively. Optimized cultivation for RA2 on a technical scale led to the production of 40 g L−1 of cell dry mass within 55 h. The cultivation strategy including pH-controlled ammonium feeding can be used to effectively produce sufficient biomass of both strains for both research and application as inoculants in soil clean-up. An ecotype of brake fern (Pteris vittata) was assessed for arsenic tolerance and accumulation in its biomass under in vivo and in vitro condition; using soil, and agar-gelled Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium supplemented with different concentrations of arsenic. The plants were raised in soil amended with 100–1000 mg arsenic kg−1 soil, and MS medium was supplemented with 10–300 mg arsenic 1−1 medium using Na2HAsO4 · 7H2O. The spores and haploid gametophytic-prothalli were raised in vitro on MS medium supplemented with arsenic. The field plants showed normal growth and biomass formation in arsenic amended soil, and accumulated 1908–4700 mg arsenic kg−1 dry aerial biomass after 10 weeks of growth. Arsenic toxicity was observed above >200 mg arsenic kg−1 soil. The concentrations of arsenic accumulated in the plant biomass were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Normal plants were developed from spores and gametophyte prothalli on the MS media supplemented with 50–200 mg arsenic 1−1 medium. The in vitro raised plants were tolerant to 300 mg arsenic kg−1 of soil and accumulated up to 3232 mg arsenic kg−1 dry aerial biomass that showed better growth performance, biomass generation and arsenic accumulation in comparison to the field plants. Gross rates of N mineralization and nitrification, and soil–atmosphere fluxes of N2O, NO and NO2 were measured at differently grazed and ungrazed steppe grassland sites in the Xilin river catchment, Inner Mongolia, P. R. China, during the 2004 and 2005 growing season. The experimental sites were a plot ungrazed since 1979 (UG79), a plot ungrazed since 1999 (UG99), a plot moderately grazed in winter (WG), and an overgrazed plot (OG), all in close vicinity to each other. Gross rates of N mineralization and nitrification determined at in situ soil moisture and soil temperature conditions were in a range of 0.5–4.1 mg N kg−1 soil dry weight day−1. In 2005, gross N turnover rates were significantly higher at the UG79 plot than at the UG99 plot, which in turn had significantly higher gross N turnover rates than the WG and OG plots. The WG and the OG plot were not significantly different in gross ammonification and in gross nitrification rates. Site differences in SOC content, bulk density and texture could explain only less than 15% of the observed site differences in gross N turnover rates. N2O and NO x flux rates were very low during both growing seasons. No significant differences in N trace gas fluxes were found between plots. Mean values of N2O fluxes varied between 0.39 and 1.60 μg N2O-N m−2 h−1, equivalent to 0.03–0.14 kg N2O-N ha−1 y−1, and were considerably lower than previously reported for the same region. NO x flux rates ranged between 0.16 and 0.48 μg NO x -N m−2 h−1, equivalent to 0.01–0.04 kg NO x -N ha−1 y−1, respectively. N2O fluxes were significantly correlated with soil temperature and soil moisture. The correlations, however, explained only less than 20% of the flux variance.  相似文献

Sandy clay loam soil was contaminated with 5000 mg kg−1 diesel, and amended with nitrogen (15.98 atom% 15N) at 0, 250, 500, and 1000 mg kg−1 to determine gross rates of nitrogen transformations during diesel biodegradation at varying soil water potentials. The observed water potential values were −0.20, −0.47, −0.85, and −1.50 MPa in the 0, 250, 500, and 1000 mg kg−1 nitrogen treatments respectively. Highest microbial respiration occurred in the lowest nitrogen treatment suggesting an inhibitory osmotic effect from higher rates of nitrogen application. Microbial respiration rates of 185, 169, 131, and 116 mg O2 kg−1 soil day−1 were observed in the 250, 500, control and 1000 mg kg−1 nitrogen treatments, respectively. Gross nitrification was inversely related to water potential with rates of 0.2, 0.04, and 0.004 mg N kg−1 soil day−1 in the 250, 500, and 1000 mg kg−1 nitrogen treatments, respectively. Reduction in water potential did not inhibit gross nitrogen immobilization or mineralization, with respective immobilization rates of 2.2, 1.8, and 1.8 mg N kg−1 soil day−1, and mineralization rates of 0.5, 0.3, and 0.3 mg N kg−1 soil day−1 in the 1000, 500, and 250 mg kg−1 nitrogen treatments, respectively. Based on nitrogen transformation rates, the duration of fertilizer contribution to the inorganic nitrogen pool was estimated at 0.9, 1.9, and 3.2 years in the 250, 500, and 1000 mg kg−1 nitrogen treatments, respectively. The estimation was conservative as ammonium fixation, gross nitrogen immobilization, and nitrification were considered losses of fertilizer with only gross mineralization of organic nitrogen contributing to the most active portion of the nitrogen pool.  相似文献

We investigated if the plant growth promoting fungus Trichoderma harzianum Rifai 1295-22 (also known as “T22”) could be used to enhance the establishment and growth of crack willow (Salix fragilis) in a soil containing no organic or metal pollutants and in a metal-contaminated soil by comparing this fungus with noninoculated controls and an ectomycorrhizal formulation commercially used to enhance the establishment of tree saplings. Crack willow saplings were grown in a temperature-controlled growth room over a period of 5 weeks’ in a garden center topsoil and over 12 weeks in a soil which had been used for disposal of building materials and sewage sludge containing elevated levels of heavy metals including cadmium (30 mg kg−1), lead (350 mg kg−1), manganese (210 mg kg−1), nickel (210 mg kg−1), and zinc (1,100 mg kg−1). After 5 weeks’ growth in clean soil, saplings grown with T. harzianum T22 produced shoots and roots that were 40% longer than those of the controls and shoots that were 20% longer than those of saplings grown with ectomycorrhiza (ECM). T. harzianum T22 saplings produced more than double the dry biomass of controls and more than 50% extra biomass than the ECM-treated saplings. After 12 weeks’ growth, saplings grown with T. harzianum T22 in the metal-contaminated soil produced 39% more dry weight biomass and were 16% taller than the noninoculated controls. This is the first report of tree growth stimulation by application of Trichoderma to roots, and is especially important as willow is a major source of wood fuel in the quest for renewable energy. These results also suggest willow trees inoculated with T. harzianum T22 could be used to increase the rate of revegetation and phytostabilization of metal-contaminated sites, a property of the fungus never previously demonstrated.  相似文献

Reversibility of phosphorus sorption by ferruginous nodules   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Ferruginous nodules sorb significant amounts of available soil and fertiliser phosphate. The effect of this sorption on phosphorus availability of an agricultural soil was tested by sequential extraction and by exhaustive cropping with millet (Pennisetum typhoides) in a greenhouse trial following fertilisation of the original soil containing 70% nodules and of prepared samples containing various mixes of separated soil fines and nodules. Phosphorus sorption maxima by the soil fines and nodules were 190 mg kg−1 and 380 mg kg−1 respectively. Samples of fines and nodules which had sorbed 110 and 194 mg kg−1 were submitted to 8 successive extractions with 0.01 M KCl, after which P desorption amounted to 117 mg kg−1 and 103 mg kg−1 respectively. Hysteresis between sorption and desorption was negligible for the soil fines and increased with increasing nodule content of the samples. In the greenhouse experiment, P uptake at the first cropping was highest in the soil fines at all levels of phosphorus applied. Subsequent croppings, however, showed higher P uptake in the concretionary soils. These results indicate a higher initial P release from the soil fines with cropping followed by an earlier exhaustion of phosphorus. At the end of the greenhouse experiment, yields were low in spite of the large quantities of P still remaining in the soils. Phosphorus fractionation showed that, of the P left in the soil after cropping 20% was in labile, 29% in Fe or Al-associated, and 51% in low-availability forms.  相似文献

A fluidized-bed reactor (FBR) was used to enrich an aerobic chlorophenol-degrading microbial culture. Long-term continuous-flow operation with low effluent concentrations selected oligotrophic microorganisms producing good-quality effluent for pentachlorophenol(PCP)-contaminated water. PCP biodegradation kinetics was studied using this FBR enrichment culture. The results from FBR batch experiments were modeled using a modified Haldane equation, which resulted in the following kinetic constants: q max = 0.41 mg PCP mg protein−1 day−1, K S = 16 μg l−1, K i = 5.3 mg l−1, and n = 3.5. These results show that the culture has a high affinity for PCP but is also inhibited by relatively low PCP concentrations (above 1.1 mg PCP l−1). This enrichment culture was maintained over 1 year of continuous-flow operation with PCP as the sole source of carbon and energy. During continuous-flow operation, effluent concentrations below 2 μg l−1 were achieved at 268 min hydraulic retention time (t HR) and 2.5 mg PCP l−1 feed concentration. An increase in loading rate by decreasing t HR did not significantly deteriorate the effluent quality until a t HR decrease from 30 min to 21 min resulted in process failure. Recovery from process failure was slow. Decreasing the feed PCP concentration and increasing t HR resulted in an improved process recovery. This paper gives the results from four-year field experiments on compost application, added at the maximum rate allowed by Italian legislation (30 t/ha/y). The purpose of the experiment was to evaluate any eventual heavy metal accumulation in soil and corn plants. Cadmium in corn plants increased particularly in the roots from 0.22 mg kg−1 to 1.31 mg kg−1, concentration of Zn and Cu increased in grains, from 26.8 to 35.8 and from 2.4 to 4.2 mg kg−1 respectively. Relevant increase in the roots was detected for Zn from 34.6 to 146.8 mg kg−1. Only in the 4th year Ni concentration increases in the root portion while the content of Pb and Cr in corn was generally unaffected by the compost application. Heavy metals in the soil determined by a sequential chemical extraction, indicated that extractability changed with time. A certain increase was found from the beginning to the end of the experiment particularly for Zn, from 23.3 mg kg−1 to 45.1 mg kg−1 in extractable forms. Nevertheless the extractable amounts are rather small in respect to the total heavy metal content of compost.  相似文献

Adventitious roots of Echinacea purpurea were cultured in airlift bioreactors (20 l, 500 l balloon-type, bubble bioreactors and 1,000 l drum-type bubble bioreactor) using Murashige and Skoog (MS) medium with 2 mg indole butyric acid l−1 and 50 g sucrose l−1 for the production of chichoric acid, chlorogenic acid and caftaric acid. In the 20 l bioreactor (containing 14 l MS medium) a maximum yield of 11 g dry biomass l−1 was achieved after 60 days. However, the amount of total phenolics (57 mg g−1 DW), flavonoids (34 mg g−1 DW) and caffeic acid derivatives (38 mg g−1 DW) were highest after 50 days. Based on these studies, pilot-scale cultures were established and 3.6 kg and 5.1 kg dry biomass were achieved in the 500 l and 1,000 l bioreactors, respectively. The accumulation of 5 mg chlorogenic acid g−1 DW, 22 mg chichoric acid g−1 DW and 4 mg caftaric acids g−1 DW were achieved with adventitious roots grown in 1,000 l bioreactors.  相似文献

The survival of a Sphingomonas species that was introduced into pentachlorophenol (PCP)-contaminated soil was monitored with two complementary methods, a respiration-based assay and a most probable number (MPN) technique. Sphingomonas chlorophenolicastrain RA2 is a PCP-mineralizing bacterium that was introduced into soil contaminated with a range of PCP concentrations (0–300 μg PCP g−1 soil). The population of introduced microorganisms was followed for 170 days using a substrate-induced growth-response method and a MPN assay that specifically targets PCP-mineralizing bacteria. Varying the initial PCP concentration resulted in the emergence of three distinct patterns of survival. In soil contaminated with 300 μg PCP g−1 the population of S. chlorophenolica strain RA2 immediately declined following introduction, increased by 200-fold and leveled off by the end of the 170-day incubation. In contrast, populations of S. chlorophenolica strain RA2 declined to levels below detection limits in uncontaminated soil by the end of the experiment. Intermediate PCP concentrations (10–100 μg PCP g−1 soil) resulted in the establishment of S. chlorophenolica strain RA2 that slowly declined in numbers. These results indicate that Sphingomonas chlorophenolica strain RA2 is an effective colonizer of PCP-contaminated soil but will not persist in the absence of PCP. Glasshouse experiments were conducted to evaluate the influence of L-methionine (L-MET) and L-ethionine (L-ETH) added to soil on the growth of corn (Zea mays L.) and tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum), respectively. The application of L-MET and L-ETH stimulated C2H4 production in soil by 299- and 313-fold, respectively, over an unamended control. An L-MET treatment of 1.85 mg kg−1 soil was the most effective in increasing shoot height, shoot fresh weight, internodal distance, and stem diameter in two corn cultivars, Kandy Korn and Miracle, while shoot and root dry weights, leaf width, uppermost leaf collar base distance and resistance to stem breaking were increased in the case of Kandy Korn only. A significant epinastic response was observed in the second and third leaves of tomato plants when soil was treated with L-ETH. An L-ETH treatment of 0.2 mg kg−1 soil resulted in the maximum fresh fruit yield, while 0.02 and 2.0 mg kg−1 gave the most fruit and greater average weight of fresh fruit, respectively. Concentrations ranging from 0.002 to 2.0 mg L-ETH kg−1 soil initiated early fruit formation. Early fruit ripening was observed with an application rate of 20 mg L-ETH kg−1 soil. The mechanism of action of these chemicals could either be attributed to i) substrate-dependent C2H4 production in soil by the indigenous microflora, ii) uptake directly by plant roots followed by metabolism within the tissues, and/or iii) a change in the balance of rhizosphere microflora affecting plant growth.  相似文献

A crown rot disease in wheat caused by the fungusFusarium graminearum Schw. Group 1 is a widespread problem in chronically Zn-deficient Australian soils. A link between crown rot and Zn deficiency was established by Sparrow and Graham (1988). This paper reports a test of a further hypothesis, that wheat genotypes more efficient at extracting zinc from low-zinc soils are more resistant to infection by this pathogen. Three wheat cultivars (Excalibur, Songlen and Durati) of differential Zn efficiency were tested at three zinc levels (0.05, 0.5 and 2.0 mg Zn kg−1 of soil) and three levels ofF. graminearum S. Group 1 inoculum (0.1 g and 0.3 g kg−1 live chaff-inoculum and control having 0.1 g kg−1 dead chaff inoculum). Six weeks after sowing dry matter production of shoots and roots was decreased byFusarium inoculation at 0.05 mg and 0.5 mg kg−1 applied Zn.Fusarium inoculum at 0.1 g was as effective as 0.3 g kg−1 for infection and decreasing dry matter. The infection at the basal part of culm decreased significantly by increasing the rate of Zn application. Excalibur, a Zn-efficient cultivar (tolerant to Zn deficiency) produced significantly more shoot and root dry matter, and showed less disease infection compared with Zn-inefficient cultivars (Durati and Songlen) at low (0.05 mg Zn kg−1 soil) and medium (0.5 mg Zn kg−1 soil) Zn fertilization rates. Higher rate of Zn fertilization (2.0 mg Zn kg−1 soil) reduced the disease level in Durati to the level of Excalibur but the disease level of Songlen was still high, indicating its high Zn requirement and or sensitivity to crown rot. The data on Zn uptake show that Excalibur, being Zn-efficient, was able to scavenge enough Zn from Zn-deficient soil, we suggest that besides sustaining growth Excalibur was able to build and maintain resistance to the pathogen; inefficient cultivars needed extra Zn fertilization to achieve performance comparable to that of Excalibur. The present study indicates that growing Zn-efficient cultivars of wheat along with judicious use of Zn fertilizer in Zn-deficient areas where crown rot is a problem may sustain wheat production by reducing the severity of the disease as well as by increasing the plant vigour through improved Zn nutrition. ei]Section editor: R Rodriques-Kalana  相似文献

Twenty eight-day old plants of two spring wheat cultivars differing in salinity tolerance were subjected to varying levels of nitrogen (56, 112, and 224 mg N·kg−1 soil) for 42 days. Both cultivars performed differently under varying soil N levels in terms of growth, and grain yield and yield components. Nitrogen levels, 112 and 224 mg·kg−1 soil, caused maximal growth in Sarsabz and Barani-83, respectively. Cv Sarsabz maintained higher leaf water and turgor potentials, but lower leaf osmotic potential than those of Barani-83 at all external N regimes. Sarsabz had higher Chl a, Chl b and carotenoids contents in leaves than those in Barani-83 at 56 and 112 mg N·kg−1 soil. Sarsabz had higher contents of leaf soluble proteins, soluble sugars, and free amino acids than those in Barani-83 at all external N levels. In Barani-83 net CO2 assimilation rate remained almost unchanged, whereas in Sarsabz it decreased consistently with increase in external N level. The better growth performance of Sarsabaz as compared to Barani-83 under varying soil N levels except 224 mg N·kg−1 soil was associated with maintenance of high leaf turgor potential but not with net CO2 assimilation rate.  相似文献

To evaluate the effect of ectomycorrhizal colonization on growth and physiological activity of Larix kaempferi seedlings grown under soil acidification, we grew L. kaempferi seedlings with three types of ectomycorrhizae for 180 days in acidified brown forest soil derived from granite. The soil had been treated with an acid solution (0 (control), 10, 30, 60, and 90 mmol H+ kg−1). The water-soluble concentrations of Ca, Mg, K, Al, and Mn increased with increasing amounts of H+ added to the soil. Ectomycorrhizal development significantly increased in soil treated with 10 and 30 mmol H+ kg−1 but was significantly reduced in soil treated with 60 and 90 mmol H+ kg−1. The concentrations of Al and Mn in needles or roots increased with increasing H+ added to the soil. The total N in seedlings significantly increased with increasing H+ in soil and colonization with ectomycorrhiza. The maximum net photosynthetic rate at light and CO2 saturation (P max) was greater in soil treated with 10 mmol H+ kg−1 than in controls, and was less is soils treated with greater than with 30 mmol H+ kg−1, especially with 60 and 90 mmol H+ kg−1. However, colonization with ectomycorrhiza significantly reduced the concentration of Al and Mn in needles or roots and increased the values of P max and total dry mass (TDM). The relative TDM of L. kaempferi seedlings was approximately 40% at a (BC, base cation)/Al ratio of 1.0. However, ectomycorrhizal seedlings had a 100–120% greater TDM at a BC/Al ratio of 1.0 than non-ectomycorrhizal seedlings, even though the acid treatment reduced their overall growth.  相似文献

La Paz Bay and La Paz Lagoon are water bodies of the Gulf of California that are influenced by waste water discharges from the City of La Paz and from activities of the phosphorite mining company “Rofomex”. Because seaweeds concentrate elements from the water and are used as effective indicators of contamination by metals, we investigated their usefulness in this region. Concentrations of certain major elements (Ca, Fe, K and Na) and trace elements (As, Ba, Co, Cr, Cs, Hf, Rb, Sb, Sc, Se, Sr, Ta, Th, U, Zn and Zr) were determined in 12 species of seaweeds from La Paz Bay and La Paz Lagoon using instrumental neutron activation analysis. The contents of trace elements of environmental importance (As, Co, Cr, Fe, Sb, Se and Zn) in all studied samples are within the range of typical levels for a pristine environment not subjected to anthropogenic impact. Somewhat higher concentrations of Cr (81mg kg−1), Hf (4mg kg−1), Rb (48mg kg−1), Sc (6.3mg kg−1), Ta (0.95mg kg−1), Th (6.8mg kg−1), U (33mg kg−1) and Zn (90mg kg−1) were found in the green seaweed species Ulva (formerly Enteromorpha) intestinalis, whereas such elements as As (77mg kg−1), Sb (1.4mg kg−1) and Se (1.8mg kg−1) were mainly concentrated in the species Sargassum sinicola, Codium cuneatum and Padina mexicana respectively. Because of their higher abundance and heterogeneity in elemental composition the seaweeds species Ulva intestinalis and Caulerpa sertularioides seem to be more suitable for further biomonitoring of heavy metal pollution of the coastal waters in this zone.  相似文献

Summary Four strains of bacteria, 9 strains of fungi and 20 strains of actinomycetes capable of utilizing metsulfuron-methyl as sole carbon and energy source were isolated from a metsulfuron-methyl-treated soil by the enrichment culture method. A fungus named DS11F was selected as the most highly effective one according to the maximum tolerance concentration of 1,200 mg l−1 and metsulfuron-methyl-degrading rate of 0.0716 g g−1 cells h−1, and was identified as an unknown strain of Penicillium sp. on the basis of colony growth, morphology and biochemical characteristics.␣Through liquid pure culture, the optimal metsulfuron-methyl-degrading conditions of DS11F were determined to be metsulfuron-methyl concentration 22.6 mg l−1, inoculum concentration 12.25 mg l−1, pH 7.0 and temperature 30°C. As additional C sources, supernatant of soaked compost could increase metsulfuron-methyl degradation by 8%, but glucose was ineffective. DS11F inoculation was found to significantly enhance the degradation of metsulfuron-methyl in soil, with the reduction of the concentration reaching 50% in 6 days. Admixture of compost could promote metsulfuron-methyl degradation to some extent. The growth of the inocula in the soils remained dominant and degradation resumed immediately when metsulfuron-methyl was applied again. The results show that addition of the isolated Penicillium sp. enhances the degradation of metsulfuron-methyl in water and soil.  相似文献

Banana plantlets (Musa acuminata cv Grande Naine) cultivated in hydroponics take up silicon proportionally to the concentration of Si in the nutrient solution (0–1.66 mM Si). Here we study the Si status of banana plantlets grown under controlled greenhouse conditions on five soils developed from andesitic volcanic ash, but differing in weathering stage. The mineralogical composition of soils was inferred from X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis and selective chemical/mineralogical extractions. With increasing weathering, the content of weatherable primary minerals decreased. Conversely, clay content increased and stable secondary minerals were increasingly dominant: gibbsite, Fe oxides, allophane, halloysite and kaolinite. The contents of biogenic Si in plant and soil were governed by the reserve of weatherable primary minerals. The largest concentrations of biogenic Si in plant (6.9–7 g kg−1) and soil (50–58 g kg−1) occurred in the least weathered soils, where total Si content was above 225 g kg−1. The lowest contents of biogenic Si in plant (2.8–4.3 g kg−1) and soil (8–31 g kg−1) occurred in the most weathered desilicated soils enriched with secondary oxides and clay minerals. Our data imply that soil weathering stage directly impacted the soil-to-plant transfer of silicon, and thereby the stock of biogenic Si in a soil–plant system involving a Si-accumulating plant. They further imply that soil type can influence the silicon soil–plant cycle and its hydrological output.  相似文献

This study provides a first attempt investigation of a serie of studies on the ability of Anthracophyllum discolor, a recently isolated white-rot fungus from forest of southern Chile, for the treatment of soil contaminated with pentachlorophenol (PCP) to future research on potential applications in bioremediation process. Bioremediation of soil contaminated with PCP (250 and 350 mg kg−1 soil) was investigated with A. discolor and compared with the reference strain Phanerochaete chrysosporium. Both strains were incorporated as free and immobilized in wheat grains, a lignocellulosic material previously selected among wheat straw, wheat grains and wood chips through the growth and colonization of A. discolor. Wheat grains showed a higher growth and colonization of A. discolor, increasing the production of manganese peroxidase (MnP) activity. Moreover, the application of white-rot fungi immobilized in wheat grains to the contaminated soil favored the fungus spread. In turn, with both fungal strains and at the two PCP concentrations a high PCP removal (70–85%) occurred as respect to that measured with the fungus as free mycelium (30–45%). Additionally, the use of wheat grains in soil allowed the proliferation of microorganisms PCP decomposers, showing a synergistic effect with A. discolor and P. chrysosporium and increasing the PCP removal in the soil.  相似文献

Buckwheat (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench. cv Jianxi) is highly resistant to Al stress and is known to be an Al-accumulator. Pot experiments were carried out in a greenhouse to investigate the accumulation of Al in leaves and seeds of buckwheat. Plants were grown for 12 weeks in a strong acid soil amended with or without CaCO3 at a rate of 1 g kg−1 soil. Old leaves accumulated as much as 10 g kg−1 Al of dry weight when the plants were grown in the acid soil, while the Al concentrations in leaves immediately adjacent to seeds, seed coats, and embryos were, on average, 4516, 41.2 and 7.7 mg kg−1, respectively. The Al concentration significantly decreased in leaves when the plants were grown in the limed soil, and the Al concentrations in leaves immediately adjacent to seeds, seed coats, and embryos were, on average, 1586, 21.3 and 3.1 mg kg−1, respectively. These results show that seeds accumulate much less Al than buckwheat leaves. The underlying mechanisms are discussed. Section Editor: H. Lambers  相似文献
