Abstract  This paper records seven species of wasps in the genus Psyllaephagus (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae) from New Zealand. All of these species are primary parasitoids of psylloids (Hemiptera: Psylloidea). Two are species previously described from New Zealand: P. acaciae Noyes and P. pilosus Noyes. Two are described Australian species which have established recently: P. bliteus Riek and P. gemitus Riek. Three new species are described here, from New Zealand: P. breviramus sp. nov., P. cornwallensis sp. nov. and P. richardhenryi sp. nov. All species are probably Australian in origin. A key to all seven Psyllaephagus species known from New Zealand is provided. An earlier first record of the Australian psyllid hyperparasitoid Coccidoctonus psyllae Riek (Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae), previously first recorded from New Zealand in 2006, is noted.  相似文献

A new species, Ericydnus novosibiricus sp. n., is described. The main characters differentiating the new species from the similar E. longicornis Dalman are as follows: female??fore wing noticeably shortened, with almost normally developed veins and rounded apex, marginal vein longer than postmarginal vein, 6th flagellar segment slightly longer than wide, club truncate; male??fore wing noticeably shortened, with almost normally developed veins and pointed apex, flagellar segments subsequently becoming wider toward antennal apex.  相似文献

Glaesus gibsoni gen. et sp. nov. and Eocencnemus gedanicus sp. nov. are described from materials stored in the amber collection of the University of Gdańsk. Eocencyrtus zerovae Simutnik, 2001 is for the first time recorded in the Baltic amber. The encyrtids recorded in Eocene ambers are reviewed, and a key to the known genera is given. The fossil Encyrtidae cannot be placed with confidence in any of the established subfamilies. Their comparative morphology is analyzed. One of the diagnostic characters of the subfamily Encyrtinae, the presence of the filum spinosum, is recorded for the first time for fossil encyrtids (in G. gibsoni).  相似文献

A key to the Chinese species of this genus is provided.  相似文献

An undescribed microsporidium was found infecting Tachinaephagus zealandicus, a gregarious parasitoid that attacks third instar larvae of muscoid flies. Spores were present in all body regions and in all stages of development. Infected adults contained an average of 3.75 x 10(5) spores, and the pathogen was vertically transmitted to progeny. Infected female adults were fed either rifampicin or albendazole mixed with honey to determine the effectiveness of these drugs in preventing vertical transmission. After eight days of feeding on rifampicin the parasitoids produced progeny of which only 37% were infected. In contrast, albendazole-treated and untreated females produced progeny that were 97% and 100% infected, respectively. Healthy and infected colonies were established and studies were conducted to determine the mechanisms of transmission. It was observed that the efficiency of vertical (maternal) transmission was 96.3%. Uninfected parasitoid immatures also became infected when they shared superparasitized hosts with infected immatures. The method of transmission within superparasitized hosts is not known.  相似文献

The genus Batozonellus(Pompilidae: Pompilinae) from China is reviewed. A new species, B. flavithoracicus Li Li, sp. nov. from Yunnan, China, is described and illustrated. A key to the Chinese species of Batozonellus, modified from Tsuneki(1989), is provided.  相似文献
