This study was undertaken to examine the consequences of prolonged removal of the pituitary from hypothalamic control and of estrogen-induced pituitary tumors on the susceptibility of GH and TSH release to regulatory influences of dopamine (DA). Adult male Fischer 344 rats were treated with transplants of female anterior pituitaries under the renal capsule or with Silastic capsules containing diethylstilbestrol (DES). Capsules with DES remained in place until the animals were killed (DES-IN) or were removed 7 weeks prior to sacrificing the rats (DES-OUT). Both pituitary grafts and DES caused the expected elevation in plasma prolactin and suppression of plasma GH and TSH levels. Basal GH release in vitro was not affected by exposure to DES in vivo but was reduced by transplantation of the pituitary to an ectopic site. Treatment with DA in vitro suppressed GH release from the in situ pituitaries of control, DES treated and grafted rats but increased GH release from the ectopic pituitaries. Basal release of TSH in vitro was reduced in the pituitaries of DES-IN and DES-OUT animals but was not affected by the presence of pituitary transplants. No detectable TSH was released from the ectopic pituitaries in the absence of DA. DA decreased TSH release from the pituitaries of control, DES-OUT and DES-IN rats but not from the in situ pituitaries of grafted rats. In contrast, DA produced an increase in TSH release from ectopic pituitaries. These results demonstrate that somatotrophs and thyrotrophs removed from the hypothalamic influences on subjected to direct and indirect effects of DES exhibit abnormal responses to DA. We suspect that prolonged absence of normal pituitary control leads to the development of regulatory mechanism of pituitary hormone release which are different from those operating under physiological conditions.  相似文献

The process of angiogenesis has been found to be essential for the development of estrogen-induced pituitary prolactinoma in Fischer 344 rats. Thalidomide [(alpha-(N-phthalimido)-glutarimide] is known to be a potent immunomodulatory drug with antiangiogenic properties, but its effect on lactotroph cell secretory function and pituitary prolactinoma formation has not been described yet. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of thalidomide on secretion of prolactin (PRL) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), cell proliferation, apoptosis and angiogenesis within the anterior pituitary gland in long-term diethylstilboestrol (DES)-treated male F344 rats in vivo and in vitro. It was found that DES sharply increased serum PRL and VEGF levels. On the other hand, simultaneous treatment of F344 rats with thalidomide for the last 15 days of the experiment attenuated the stimulatory effect of DES on PRL and VEGF secretion. It also diminished prolactin cell proliferation evaluated as the number of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA)-positive stained cell nuclei and increased the number of apoptotic bodies determined by the terminal deoxynucleotidyl-mediated dUTP nick-end labeling (TUNEL) method in sections of the DES-induced pituitary prolactinoma. The density of pituitary microvessels evaluated by microscopic counting of CD-31-positive blood vessels was also diminished by the tested drug. In addition, thalidomide (10(-4) to 10(-6) M) inhibited cell proliferation, prolactin and VEGF secretion from rat pituitary prolactinoma cells cultured in vitro. In conclusion, our results provide strong evidence for the antiprolactin and antitumor activity of thalidomide in experimentally DES-induced pituitary adenoma.  相似文献

An Nb2 lymphoma cell bioassay (Nb2BA) and a radioimmunoassay (RIA) were used to compare plasma and pituitary levels of prolactin in ovariectomized Fischer 344 (F344) and Holtzman rats treated with either diethylstilbestrol (DES) or estradiol for up to 8 weeks. The objectives were to determine whether there were temporal differences in prolactin responses in strains with different genetic predispositions to estrogen-induced pituitary tumor formation and to determine whether the results of the two assay methods were equivalent. All rats were ovariectomized for 7 days and all except controls received subcutaneous Silastic implants of DES or 17 beta-estradiol and were sacrificed at intervals from 2 days to 8 weeks later. Pituitary content and plasma levels of prolactin were determined by Nb2BA and RIA and the ratio of these measurements was calculated. DES induced a significant increase in pituitary prolactin in F344 rats by 2 days of treatment, as measured by RIA. Pituitary content increased to a peak by Day 4, after which a gradual decline occurred until the end of the experiment. Nb2BA measurements were similar to those obtained by RIA, except at 8 weeks, when the content determined by Nb2BA was significantly higher than the content determined by RIA. When estradiol was given to F344 rats a pattern of increase and subsequent decrease in pituitary content similar to that seen with DES was observed and levels measured by Nb2BA and RIA were essentially equivalent. Plasma levels of prolactin in DES-treated F344 rats increased exponentially through the 8 weeks, and the Nb2BA measurements were significantly greater than levels determined by RIA throughout the treatment period. Estradiol treatment produced a pattern of change in plasma levels of prolactin similar to that observed with DES, except that RIA and Nb2BA measurements were not different. Comparable results were obtained in Holtzman rats, except plasma levels were not increased to the same degree as seen in F344 rats. From these results, we conclude that DES, but not estradiol, can selectively increase the secretion of prolactin that is more bioactive than immunoreactive and that this effect of DES is observed in F344 and Holtzman rats, although F344 rats released more prolactin in response to estrogens than did Holtzman females.  相似文献

OBJECTIVE: We investigated the effect of chronic estrogen treatment on the inhibitory action of nitric oxide (NO) on prolactin release. METHODS: The effect of NO on prolactin release was studied in anterior pituitaries of female Wistar rats, intact at random stages, ovariectomized (OVX), and OVX treated for 15 days with 17beta-estradiol (OVX-E(2)). RESULTS: Sodium nitroprusside (NP, 0.5 mM), a NO donor, inhibited prolactin release from anterior pituitaries and was able to stimulate cGMP synthesis in intact and OVX rats. Only a high, supraphysiological concentration of NP (2 mM) inhibited prolactin release from anterior pituitaries of OVX-E(2) rats and increased cGMP synthesis in OVX-E(2) rats. 8-Br-cGMP, a cGMP analogue, decreased prolactin release from anterior pituitaries of OVX rats but did not affect it in OVX-E(2) rats. CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that estrogen may modify the sensitivity of the anterior pituitary to the inhibitory effect of NO on prolactin release by affecting guanylyl cyclase activity and the cGMP pathway.  相似文献

Prolactin immunocytochemistry was conducted 1) in serial sections of whole fixed pituitaries, for cell distribution analysis; and 2) on preparations of enzymatically dispersed anterior pituitary cells maintained for 1-4 days in vitro, for quantitation of the relative population of prolactin (PRL) cells. Both types of analysis were conducted on glands from young adult rats of both sexes in Long-Evans, Sprague-Dawley, and Fischer 344 strains. Cell quantitation results were compared with serum levels, intracellular content, and in vitro release of prolactin, for individual cell preparations. The results show that both PRL cell distribution and relative population numbers are similar between sexes in all three rat strains. Average percentages ranged from 25.9% to 32.1% in all young males and diestrous females. Prolactin-positive numbers of cells correlated positively with intracellular hormone content but not with serum or medium PRL levels. The prolactin cell population was significantly larger in aged Fischer 344 males but was not correlated with intracellular PRL levels. The prolactin cell population was heterogeneous in staining intensity and distribution in both sexes of all three strains.  相似文献

Diethylstilbestrol (DES) has been implicated in mammalian abnormalities. We examined the effects of DES on follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH), and prolactin (PRL) cells in the pituitaries of male mice treated with various doses of DES for 20 days. DES reduced the density of FSH and LH cells in a dose-dependent manner, but increased that of PRL cells. When the expression of estrogen receptor (ER) α and β was assessed, an induction of ERβ by DES was found predominantly in PRL cells. However, since these effects were abolished in ERα knockout mice, DES appears to act primarily through ERα. When the expression of Ki-67 and Pit-1 in PRL cells was examined at various time-points after DES treatment, some PRL cells became Ki-67 positive at 10–15 days, and Pit-1-positive cells were increased at 5–15 days. Furthermore, some FSH and LH cells became Pit-1 positive, and co-localized with PRL at 5–10 days. Our results indicate that DES increases PRL cells by inducing proliferation of PRL cells and transdifferentiation of FSH/LH cells to PRL cells.  相似文献

The effect of in vivo diethylstilbestrol (DES) treatment on the MtT/W15 transplantable pituitary tumor was examined in dissociated pituitary cells by measuring the rate of incorporation of [3H]thymidine into DNA and the synthesis of prolactin (PRL) and growth hormone (GH) as assessed by the rate of incorporation of [3H]leucine. MtT/W15 transplantable pituitary tumors from rats treated for 3 weeks with DES showed significant reduction in the extent of [3H]thymidine incorporation compared with tumor cells from untreated rats (2231 +/- 182 vs 172 +/- 17 dpm/10(5) cells; n = 3). In addition, tumor cells from DES-treated rats showed a significant increase in GH synthesis compared with tumor cells from untreated rats. In contrast to these findings, dissociated pituitary cells from non-tumor-bearing rats given 10 mg DES in Silastic tubing for 3 weeks showed a three-fold increase in PRL synthesis compared to cells from untreated control rats (29.3 +/- 1.5 vs 10.0 +/- 0.9% of total radioactivity in gel; n = 3. There was also a four-fold increase in the rate of [3H]thymidine incorporation after DES-treatment in non-tumor-bearing rats (695 +/- 114 vs 178 +/- 13.9 dpm/10(5) cells; n = 3). These results indicate that DES inhibits MtT/W15 pituitary tumor cell proliferation, while stimulating synthesis of GH.  相似文献

Estrogens stimulate proliferation and enhance survival of the prolactin (PRL)-producing lactotroph of the anterior pituitary gland and induce development of PRL-producing pituitary tumors in certain inbred rat strains but not others. The goal of this study was to elucidate the genetic bases of estrogen-induced pituitary tumorigenesis in reciprocal intercrosses between the genetically related ACI and Copenhagen (COP) rat strains. Following 12 weeks of treatment with the synthetic estrogen diethylstilbestrol (DES), pituitary mass, an accurate surrogate marker of absolute lactotroph number, was increased 10.6-fold in ACI rats and 4.5-fold in COP rats. Composite interval mapping analyses of the phenotypically defined F(2) progeny from the reciprocal crosses identified six quantitative trait loci (QTL) that determine the pituitary growth response to DES. These loci reside on chromosome 6 [Estrogen-induced pituitary tumor (Ept)1], chromosome 3 (Ept2 and Ept6), chromosome 10 (Ept9), and chromosome 1 (Ept10 and Ept13). Together, these six Ept loci and one additional suggestive locus on chromosome 4 account for an estimated 40% of the phenotypic variance exhibited by the combined F(2) population, while 34% of the phenotypic variance was estimated to result from environmental factors. These data indicate that DES-induced pituitary mass behaves as a quantitative trait and provide information that will facilitate identification of genes that determine the tumorigenic response of the pituitary gland to estrogens.  相似文献

We have investigated dopamine (DA) receptors in estradiol-induced PRL-secreting pituitary tumors and intact pituitary tissue. Female rats were injected at 3-week intervals with 2 mg estradiol valerate (EV) or with diluent. After 21 weeks, adenomatous changes in the pituitary gland of EV-treated rats were seen and plasma PRL concentrations reached 2 micrograms/ml. Bromocriptine (2.5 mg/kg) was then administered for 1 month to half of the control rats and half of the rats bearing tumors. Anterior pituitary weight was increased in EV-treated rats compared to controls while the affinity and the density of DA receptors as assessed by [3H]spiperone binding remained unchanged. Bromocriptine (CB-154) induced a 70% decrease in the density of DA receptors without any change in affinity both in normal pituitaries and in tumors. Concurrently, the elevated plasma concentrations of PRL in the tumor bearing rats were decreased to control values following the CB-154 treatment. Our data suggest that rats with primary estrogen-induced PRL secreting tumors have normal pituitary DA receptors.  相似文献

Previous reports have shown that pituitary prolactin is rapidly transformed to a less soluble, but much more releasable, form prior to release from the lactotroph. One manifestation of this transformation is that pituitary prolactin depletion is significantly greater than concurrent release both in vivo and in vitro. The objective of this study was to compare the magnitude and temporal dynamics of depletion and release from pituitaries of ovariectomized estrogen-treated rats of three different strains in vitro to assess the effect of strain on the transformation process. Mature ovariectomized Wistar-Furth (WF), Sprague-Dawley (SD) and Long-Evans (LE) rats (7-10/group) were killed by decapitation 7 days after a single s.c. injection of 100 micrograms of polyestradiol phosphate. The anterior pituitaries were quickly removed and cut into quarters which were incubated for up to 4 hrs in the absence of dopamine or other prolactin secretagogues. Representative fragments from each strain were not incubated but were snap frozen to measure pre-incubation content. Fragments from each strain were removed from incubation at 30, 60, 120, 180 and 240 min for prolactin content measurement. Medium was collected at 30 min intervals and replaced with fresh medium. The experiments were repeated twice. Prolactin in medium and pituitary homogenates was measured by radioimmunoassays using NIAMDD-RP-1 as standard. In all three stains release of prolactin was approximately 30-50% of the prolactin depleted from the pituitary in 4 hrs. Strains varied in the magnitude of this difference and the time course over which it occurred. WF and SD rats showed significantly greater depletion and release of prolactin than did LE rats when the data were expressed as micrograms prolactin/mg pituitary. When the data were expressed as a percentage of prolactin available for release, the differences in depletion between strains disappeared and the LE rats released a significantly greater percentage of the prolactin available for release than did the other two strains. We conclude that pituitary prolactin undergoes a process of transformation prior to release which causes it to disappear from the pituitary but not appear in culture medium. We further conclude that the magnitude and temporal dynamics of this process are not equivalent across all strains of rats.  相似文献

The effects of thyroid hormones on prolactin (PRL) and growth hormone (GH) synthesis by the rat anterior pituitary gland were assessed in vitro. A marked reduction (84-87%) in the rate of H3-leucine incorporation into GH was evident 2-4 weeks after thyroidectomy, while incorporation into PRL was 52-71% less than that measured in glands from intact rats. A single injection of T4 (200 mug/kg) administered to thyroidectomized (THX) rats 48 hr before sacrifice significantly increased incorporation into both pituitary hormones, although the stimulation of GH synthesis was much more dramatic. Perphenazine, alpha-methyltyrosine and estrogen enhanced the rate of PRL synthesis in intact rats. Thyroid ablation did not affect the response to perphenazine, but significantly increased the response to alpha-methyltyrosine and estrogen. On the other hand, administration of T4 to THX rats receiving perphenazine, alpha-methyltyrosine or estrogen diminished the stimulatory influence of these treatments on PRL synthesis. Perphenazine, alpha-methyltyrosine and estrogen had no effect on the rate of GH synthesis in THX rats, nor did they alter the ability of T4 to restore GH synthesis in these animals. These results indicate that GH synthesis in the rat is dependent upon thyroid hormones and support the concept that these hormones exert their stimulatory effect directly on pituitary somatotrophs. Pituitary lactotrophs, however, appear to retain much of their capacity to synthesize PRL under conditions of thyroid deficiency. The changes in pituitary PRL levels and synthesis rate induced by thyroid ablation might reflect differences in the number rather than the activity of these cells.  相似文献

Pituitary cells from hamsters bearing diethylstilbestrol induced renal adenocarcinomas were cultured in vitro. Dispersed cells in plastic dishes were viable for up to two weeks in Dulbecco's modified Eagle's medium supplemented with 17.5% of 6:1 horse serum to fetal calf serum. The secretion of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone and prolactin into the medium were measured by radioimmunoassay. The concentrations of both were elevated by day 3 in the medium from the hyperplastic pituitaries obtained from the estrogen treated, tumor bearing hamsters. Neither DES (10(-8)M) nor tamoxifen (10(-7)M) influenced the secretion of either hormone and neither altered either cell number or DNA synthetic activity as measured by thymidine incorporation. The secretion of hormones and the growth of the pituitary cells were, however, decreased by charcoal treatment of the serum. The results suggest that the elevation of serum alpha-MSH and prolactin observed in DES implanted hamsters is due to pituitary secretion of the hormones but that DES probably does not act directly on the pituitary to control the secretion.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to determine if heme oxygenase (HO), which catalyzes the degradation of heme and the formation of carbon monoxide (CO), is localized in the rat anterior pituitary and, if so, to determine if hemin (a substrate for HO) or chromium mesoporphyrin (CrMP) (an inhibitor of HO), alter pituitary gonadotropin and prolactin secretion. For localization of HO, sections of anterior pituitaries obtained from mature Holtzman Sprague-Dawley rats in different stages of the estrous cycle were immunostained for two of the HO isoforms, HO-1 and HO-2. The immunostaining for the inducible HO isoform (HO-1) was limited to discrete populations of pituitary cells, whereas the constitutive isoform (HO-2) had a more widespread distribution. The afternoon surge of leutinizing hormone (LH) in the plasma of ovariectomized, estradiol-treated rats was advanced by 2 hr after 7 days of treatment with CrMP (4 micro M/kg), and this effect was reversed when hemin (30 micro M/kg) was co-administered with CrMP. The afternoon follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) surge was not affected by either treatment. In contrast, the afternoon prolactin (PRL) surge was completely blocked or delayed by CrMP treatment, and this effect was not reversed by hemin. In vitro perifusion of pituitary explants with CrMP also significantly reduced PRL release compared with secretion from untreated explants. In vitro gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH)-stimulated FSH secretion was significantly increased from pituitary explants of ovariectomized, estradiol-treated rats treated in vivo with hemin but was unaffected by CrMP treatment, whereas GnRH-stimulated LH release was not affected by hemin but was increased by CrMP treatment. In conclusion, this study demonstrates that HO exists in the rat anterior pituitary gland, and that a substrate and an inhibitor of this enzyme alter the secretion of gonadotropins and PRL.  相似文献

We have determined binding sites for estrogen, progestin, androgen and glucocorticoid in anterior pituitaries from Sprague-Dawley rats, a strain with low estrogen sensitivity, and in diethylstilbestrol-induced pituitary tumors in Fischer 344 rats, a strain with high estrogen sensitivity. Binding sites differ in their quantity and subcellular distribution. Cytosolic sites for [3H]estradiol in normal pituitaries from untreated rats were high prevailing over sites for other hormones, but they were depleted in the tumors due to their retention in nuclei under the influence of estrogen. Unoccupied nuclear sites for estrogen in normal glands also prevailed over sites for other steroids, and were similar to those in tumors. Second, the progestin site labeled with [3H]R 5020 was concentrated 5.7-fold in cytosol and 8.5-fold in nuclei of the tumors over the values found in glands from normal males estrogenized for 3 days. Third, glucocorticoid receptors labeled with [3H]dexamethasone were predominantly cytosolic in normal glands, but very low in cytosol and more evident in nuclear extracts from the tumors, the reverse of the profile found in normal pituitaries. Last, limited and comparable amounts of androgen receptors were measured in the subcellular fractions of both tissues. It is suggested that the subcellular distribution of some steroid receptors may be controlled in part by the cell population of the tissue and its degree of genetic activity.  相似文献

The MtTW15 prolactin (PRL) secreting adenoma elevated serum PRL concentrations over controls within 5 weeks after tissue implantation. This treatment resulted in a significant reduction of peripheral β-adrenergic responsiveness as assessed by three different parameters. Isoproterenol-induced thrist was significantly attenuated in the MtTW15 rats. The decrease in the thirst response was proportional to the increase in serum PRL. Unanesthetized heart rates of both groups were not significantly different before isoproterenol was administered. However, following administration of the β-adrenergic agonist the heart rate response in rats with elevated PRL was significantly attenuated when compared to the controls. Elevation of serum PRL virtually abolished the elevation of tail skin temperature response associated with administration of isoproterenol. Collectively, these results suggest hyperprolactinemia reduces peripheral β-adrenergic responsiveness; however the mechanism for this reduced response remains to be elucidated.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine whether inhibition of tuberoinfundibular dopaminergic (TIDA) neuron function which occurs during chronic estrogen administration persists after removal of the estrogen. Ovariectomized (OVX) Fischer 344 (F344) rats were implanted for 4 weeks with a Silastic capsule containing estradiol-17 beta (E2) and controls with an empty capsule for 4 weeks. Other rats which received E2 for 4 weeks had the capsule removed and experiments performed 4 weeks later. At the end of 4 weeks of E2 treatment, anterior pituitary (AP) weight was increased sixfold, serum prolactin (PRL) 65-fold, and AP DNA content fivefold over OVX control rats. Four weeks after removal of E2, AP weight, serum PRL, and AP DNA content declined, but remained significantly above OVX control values. At the end of 4 weeks of E2 treatment and after E2 withdrawal, release of [3H]dopamine (DA) from median eminence (ME) tissue superfused in vitro was lower than from ME of OVX control rats although [3H]DA accumulation was not significantly different among the treatment groups. Administration of apomorphine (APO), a dopamine agonist, significantly reduced plasma prolactin levels in OVX control rats, in rats at the end of 4 weeks E2 treatment, and in rats after 4 weeks of E2 withdrawal. Injection of haloperidol (HALO) produced similar increases in plasma PRL/estimated PRL-cell DNA in OVX controls, at the end of E2 treatment or after E2 withdrawal. However, injection of morphine (MOR), a drug which increases the release of PRL by inhibiting hypothalamic dopaminergic activity, resulted in a rise in plasma PRL/estimated PRL-cell DNA in OVX control rats that was significantly greater compared to rats at the end of E2 treatment or after E2 withdrawal. Since rats treated with E2 released less [3H]DA from ME tissue in vitro, and were less responsive to MOR, it can be that animals treated for 4 weeks with E2 show a decreased ability to release DA from TIDA neurons which persists even after termination of E2 treatment. These results suggest that chronic high circulating E2 levels result in a depression of TIDA neuronal activity which is sustained after E2 is removed.  相似文献

The relationship between prolactin (PRL) secretion and the neurointermediate lobe (NIL) of the pituitary gland was investigated. Plasma PRL concentrations in rats bearing anterior pituitaries autografted with or without the NIL to the renal capsule were elevated to equal extents at 1 through 6 weeks after surgery (p > 0.10). PRL levels in ovariectomized rats in which the NIL had been removed surgically (NIL-X) or only visualized (NIL-C) were 3–7 ng/ml 4, 7, and 28 days after surgery (p > 0.10); however, they were slightly higher in NIL-X vs. NIL-C rats 14 days after surgery (p < 0.05). Plasma luteinizing hormone (LH) concentrations in NIL-C rats increased by 36% from 2 to 4 weeks after surgery (p < 0.05); this increase was not detected in NIL-X rats. PRL and LH surges were induced by estradiol implants in ovariectomized NIL-X and NIL-C rats; the profiles of the PRL surges were superimposable, although the magnitude of the LH surge was only 50% that in NIL-C rats (p < 0.05). These results cast doubt on the importance of the NIL in the regulation of PRL secretion either via secreting hypophysiotropic hormones or via conducting anterior pituitary hormones directly to the median eminence. However, the NIL may have a physiologically important role in the regulation of LH secretion.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to determine: 1) if lactotropes from old rats, compared to those from young rats, secrete a greater amount of prolactin (PRL) per cell, 2) if the percentage of pituitary cells secreting PRL changes with age; and 3) how estradiol (E2), dopamine (DA), or thyrotropin-releasing hormone (TRH), or the combination of these factors influences both of these parameters in old rats. To meet these objectives we used the reverse hemolytic plaque assay (RHPA), because this method allows us to determine both the percentage of pituitary cells secreting prolactin during the experimental period and the amount of hormone released by each secreting pituitary cell. These parameters were measured in young (2-3 mo old) or old (17-19 mo old) female Sprague-Dawley rats. Animals were ovariectomized (OVX) for 10 days or OVX for 1 wk and then treated with E2 for 3 days. Rats were killed, anterior pituitaries were removed, and cells were enzymatically dispersed and prepared for use in the RHPA. Pituitary cells were treated in vitro with vehicle, DA, or PRL, old OVX and E2-treated rats exhibited a greater percentage of secretory cells than young at both 1 and 2 h of incubation. Administration of E2 increased the percentage of cells secreting PRL in both young and old rats. In order to study the possible role on prolactin secretion of the catecholamines present in ectopic pituitaries, female rats bearing an anterior pituitary graft under the kidney capsule since day 30 of life and their sham-operated controls, were sacrificed at 1, 2, 4, 7, 15, 30, 45 and 60 days after the operation. Data obtained showed a significant increase in plasma prolactin levels in grafted rats versus controls from the 4th day on after the grafting (p less than 0.01) until the 60th day (p less than 0.001). Dopamine content in the ectopic pituitary of grafted rats was higher than in their own in situ pituitaries or on those of sham-operated rats until day 45 being similar to them afterwards. Norepinephrine was also present in the pituitary graft but was not detected in the in situ pituitaries. The grafting of an anterior pituitary gland in an ectopic location was able to induce changes in the local catecholaminergic control of the prolactin secretion.  相似文献
