Among the six species of fossil bryozoans described by Xia et al. [Xia, F.S., Zhang, S.G., Wang, Z.Z., 2007. The oldest bryozoans: new evidence from the late Tremadocian (Early Ordovician) of East Yangtze Gorges. Journal of Paleontology 81 (6), 1308–1326] from the Fenghsiang Formation of the Chenjiahe section of Yichang and the Guanzhuangping section, Liujiachang Town of Songzi, the Yangtze Gorges, Nekhorosheviella nodulifera occurs in the pristinus Conodont Subzone (lower Subzone of deltifer Conodont Zone) and the five other species are associated with the conodont Paltodus deltifer deltifer and the graptolites Acanthograptus sinensis and A. erectoramus. Based on the conodonts and graptolites, this bryofauna stratigraphically corresponds to the A. sinensis Graptolite Zone or P. deltifer Conodont Zone. The bryofauna is of Tremadocian Age (Early Ordovician) and represents the oldest bryozoans so far as known.  相似文献

F/F牙形刺灭绝事件以后,牙形刺很快进入复苏期(王成源、Ziegler,2004)。有关法门期牙形刺的辐射,在国内外的文献中还没有详细的论述或论证。本文基于以前对广西桂林垌村和龙门剖面的牙形刺集群灭绝与复苏的研究,2003年又在垌村剖面加密采样,重点是研究F/F事件后,牙形刺由复苏到辐射阶段的特征,探索牙形刺何时和如何由复苏期进化到辐射期。本文的材料主要是依据华南的资料,特别是本文作者研究多年的垌村剖面的资料。牙形刺的灭绝与复苏是以法门期最主要的属Palmatolepis为主线,在种一级的水平上确定的。法门期牙形刺的辐射同样是以Palmatolepis属内种一级的水平上讨论的。同时也涉及到其它属。本文首次明确提出:牙形刺在晚triangularis带就进入辐射期,因为正是从晚triangularis带,Palmatolepis的minuta,werneri,sandbergi,perlobata,cf.regularis,subperlobata,tenupunctata7个重要种群开始出现,并在法门期中期达到辐射期的高峰。  相似文献

The Katian (Upper Ordovician) facies succession of the Siljan district, central Sweden, records some of the most prominent environmental changes in the Ordovician of Baltoscandia. These changes include two separate phases of major sea-level drawdown that were of basinwide and presumably global importance. The first regression and lowstand terminated an entire generation of carbonate mud mounds (the Kullsberg Limestone) and resulted in the formation of polymict carbonate conglomerates (Skålberg Limestone) belonging to the Amorphognathus superbus Zone. New stable isotope data from the Amtjärn quarry shows that this is immediately after the peak of the Guttenberg Carbon Isotope Excursion (GICE), which reaches a δ13C peak value at 3.3‰ in the uppermost Amorphognathus tvaerensis Conodont Zone. A second major regression and sea-level lowstand is manifested by palaeokarst morphologies in the Slandrom Limestone, which formed close in time to the comparably minor Waynesville positive carbon excursion in the basal Amorphognathus ordovicicus Conodont Zone. The widespread exposure associated with this latter lowstand terminated carbonate production in much of the basin, and, during the subsequent flooding, organic-rich, graptolitic shale formed across most of Baltoscandia. The two corresponding sequence boundaries are amalgamated at the top of truncated carbonate mud mounds in the Siljan district, resulting in a pronounced Middle Katian hiatus in the immediate mound areas.  相似文献

湖北宜昌地区晚奥陶世三叶虫动物群及分带序列   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
从湖北宜昌黄花场和普溪河桥宝塔组剖面获得的新材料,极大地丰富了华南晚奥陶世三叶虫动物群内容,包括22属、1亚属、31种之多。新材料保存完美,很大程度上完整了有关三叶虫的形态特征。RemopleuridesamphitryonoidesLu,1975一种由于新发现了活动颊、唇瓣、胸部及尾部,证明它确实是Remopleurides的成员,排除了对该种归属的怀疑。文中建立了1新属和2新种:Pentacopygepuxiheensisgen.etsp.nov.,Lamproscutellum?limbatumsp.nov.。同时,以桨肋虫类为基础在宝塔组Nankinolithus带之下进一步划分出4个三叶虫带,从下到上依次为Pentacopygepuxiheensis间隔带,Hexacopygeyichangensis间隔带,Remopleuridesamphitryonoides延限带(普溪河段,卡拉道克中期),和Dislobosaspisguizhouensis延限带(临湘段下部,卡拉道克晚期)。  相似文献

Conodont biostratigraphy of the Famennian and Tournaisian of Sardinia is provided on the basis of all data available in the literature. More than 130 conodont taxa documented from this time-interval allow recognition of nineteen conodont biozones. The zonation scheme adopted here is broadly similar to the standard zonation schemes used in the Upper Devonian and Lower Carboniferous, though a few variations are needed to better accommodate the species occurrences in Sardinia: the velifer Zone and the styriacus Zone have been reintroduced, even though with slightly different meanings than previously used; the Lower praesulcata Zone is expanded to include the Middle praesulcata interval. The Upper praesulcata Zone and the sulcata Zone are missing. All zones are described and discussed and a complete list of bioevents is provided.  相似文献

A rock sample obtained from the Caliza Masiva of the San Emiliano Formation (Bashkirian–early Moscovian) in the Mina Profunda area (NE Villamanín) of the Bodón Nappe (Cantabrian Zone, NW Spain) has yielded numerous brachiopods and fish remains not frequently represented in the fossil record. The brachiopod assemblage comprises 13 taxa and is characterized by phosphatic (Langella, Orbiculoidea) as well as exceptionally preserved silicified calcitic elements (a small chonetid, Composita, Crurithyris, Lambdarina, and two minute terebratulids) as the main faunal components. Of special importance is the record of the microbrachiopod Lambdarina winklerprinsi nov. sp., which reduces the large Viséan–Upper Permian gap in the stratigraphic record of this genus. Conodont elements recovered from the same insoluble residue are indicative of the upper Bashkirian Idiognathoides sulcatus parvus Zone. The accompanying fish remains consist of chondrichthyan teeth and scales, an acanthodian scale and osteichthyan tooth-bearing bones, isolated teeth and isolated scales, representing the first Pennsylvanian ichthyoliths analyzed from the Cantabrian Zone. The limestone beds with selective silicification in the San Emiliano Formation provide an exceptional opportunity to improve our knowledge on the patterns of life diversity over geological time.  相似文献

Abstract:  Conodont collections from late Viséan–early Bashkirian deposits include numerous elements related to the cosmopolitan species Gnathodus bilineatus (Roundy) in the Cantabrian Mountains. Arnsbergian beds yield the taxa Gnathodus bilineatus leonicus subsp. nov., G. millarensis sp. nov., G. truyolsi sp. nov. and Gnathodus sp. nov. A. Almost all are also found in limestones of similar age in the Pyrenees, and the G. truyolsi conodont Zone is defined for the upper Serpukhovian of the northern Iberian Peninsula. In addition, numerous references to the proposed taxa come from Austria, Eastern Europe, Northern Africa and Asian localities. The increase in gnathodid diversity and abundance in northern Spain is related to a local Arnsbergian drowning episode of the carbonate platform. G. truyolsi is possibly derived from G. b. bilineatus , and there is morphological convergence with Gnathodus kiensis Pazukhin.  相似文献

Silene bitlisensis O.Tugay & Ertugrul from the Green Line Afforestation Zone (B9: Bitlis Province) is a new species described and illustrated here. The ammonoid family Sirenitidae from the Upper Carnian yakutensis Zone of northern Middle Siberia and Northeastern Asia is revised. A new genus Orientosirenites gen. nov. with the type species O. bytschkovi sp. nov. is established based on the study of the main morphological characters of the shell. The new genus and the species O. bytschkovi are described and the species O. yakutensis (Kiparisova) is redescribed. The new data allow the taxonomic composition and the distribution of the Carnian ammonoids of the Boreal Realm to be updated.  相似文献

作者通过对豫淮盆地太原组顶部灰岩中牙形刺的研究,发现Sweetognathus动物群较为丰富,计4属10种,含一个新种:Sweetognathuspraeiranicussp.nov.。其中以Sweetognathus最为繁盛,并对其种的分类进行了修正,将原定的Sweetognathusinornatus的大部分标本归入Sweetognathusmerrilli。根据新的分类,建立了两个组合带,即Sweetognathusmerrilli带和Sweetognathuswhitei-Xuzhougnathusmonoridgosus带。通过与国内外相当牙形刺组合带(带)的对比,初步认为该动物群属中、晚萨克马尔到早亚丁斯克期。  相似文献

The Paroniceratinae constitute a group widely recorded in the Tethys realm. However, they represent alone a small part, less than 1%, of the ammonoidea obtained in Toarcian sediments from the regions located at the east of the Iberian Plateau (Iberian Range). The values are yet smaller in the northern regions (Cantabrian Range) and in the west (Portugal), and show a sporadic presence in the Betics Ranges. In this study, the biostratigraphical distribution and the biochronostratigraphical position of the recorded species in the more representative expanded sections of Spain are checked and compared with those of other areas of the NW Europe bioprovinces and of the Tethys. The obtained specimens from Frechiella: F. subcarinata (Young and Bird), F. helenae Renz, F. venantii (Catullo), F. kammerkarensis (Stolley) and F. cf. octaviae Renz are described and figured, all of them proceeding from sediments of the Bifrons Zone in the Iberian Range, as well as those of Paroniceras: P.sternale (d’Orbigny) and P.helveticum Renz, and Oxyparoniceras: O. (O.) cf. telemachi (Renz), O. (O.) buckmani (Bonarelli), O. (N.) cf. undulosum (Monestier), O. (N.) cf. morbiense (Renz) and O. (N.) cf. brocardi Rulleau, Bécaud and Neige, proceeding from sediments of the interval between the Bifrons Zone (Semipolitum Subzone) and the Insigne Zone (Insigne Subzone), in the Iberian and Cantabrian Ranges. The Frechiella and Oxyparoniceras species are developed and recorded in the Iberian Plateau margins during the Bifrons Zone and the Insigne Zone, respectively, during the same intervals than the transgressive maxima of the LJ3 and LJ4 second order cycles recognized in all the studied area, while Paroniceras species make it during the Variabilis Zone, that concur with the final regressive stage of the LJ3 cycle.  相似文献

Glass sponges (Hexactinellida) collected under the framework of the MAR-ECO project on the G.O. Sars cruise to the northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge, between the Azores and the Reykjanes Ridge, and on the 49th cruise of Akademik Mstislav Keldysh to the Charlie-Gibbs Fracture Zone are described. Fourteen species were identified in the material. This relatively rich fauna includes several novel findings, indicating that the hexactinellid fauna of the northern Mid-Atlantic Ridge is poorly investigated. One genus, Dictyaulus, has never before been reported from the Atlantic Ocean. Two species belonging to the genera Heterotella and Amphidiscella are new to science. Two other species, Rossella nodastrella Topsent, 1915 and Doconestes sessilis Topsent, 1928, have been collected just one other time. Finally, a probable new genus of Euplectellidae, which unfortunately cannot be adequately described because of how small the specimens are, is represented among these collections. A large portion of dead, rigid skeletons of Euretidae and spicule mats of Rossellidae are also reported but not described in detail. Representation of some genera in the Charlie-Gibbs Fracture Zone, coupled with recent observations from elsewhere along the Mid-Atlantic mountain chain, suggests that this fauna is as similar to those of the Indian Ocean and Indo-West Pacific as it is to West or East Atlantic faunas.  相似文献

Major morphological features of the shell are studied, and new trachyceratid genera, Boreotrachyceras gen. nov. with the type species B. omkutchanicum (Bytschkov) and Okhototrachyceras gen. nov. with the type species O. seimkanense (Bytschkov), are established based on material from the Lower Carnian of the Omolon Massif and Northern Okhotsk Region. The first record of the genus Trachyceras in the Boreal Realm allows the correlation of the omkutchanicum Zone of Northeastern Asia with the standard aon Zone.  相似文献

本首次描述了滇西保山卧牛寺组及永德丁家寨组的Rabeignathus牙形刺动物群,其中2个新种:Rabeignathus yunnanensis sp.nov.,R.ritterianus sp.nov.,并划分出3个牙形刺带,进一步确定了古生物地层工作争论已久的卧牛寺组的时代为Artinskian晚期-Kungurian早期;丁家寨组上段为Sakmarian晚期-Artinskian早期。该牙形刺动物群为暖温型动物群,结合保山地块当时的古地磁资料,丁家寨组、卧牛寺组沉积之时,应处于边缘冈瓦纳区。卧牛寺组玄武岩喷发时间的确定,预示了保山地块从边缘冈瓦纳区分离出来的时间为Artinskian晚期。  相似文献

Middle Devonian conodonts from the Si Phai section in NE Vietnam are described. The section ranges from the Middle Devonian ensensis to timorensis conodont zones to the Late Devonian rhomboidea conodont Zone. A rich overall assemblage is described, including 27 taxa of species or subspecies rank and 11 taxa described in an open nomenclature. Among the dominant Polygnathus forms, four new taxa are described: Polygnathus linguiformis saharicus subsp. nov., Polygnathus linguiformis vietnamicus subsp. nov., Polygnathus rhenanus siphai subsp. nov., and Polygnathus xylus bacbo subsp. nov. Conodont assemblages are attributed to polygnathid, polygnathid-klapperinid, and klapperinid conodont biofacies representing hemipelagic to pelagic environments. The klapperinid biofacies, unreported in the previous literature, are here attributed to offshore areas of the external shelf. The taxonomic compositions of the studied conodont assemblages, as well as their CAI characteristics (CAI 4–5), suggest a palaeogeographic affinity of the studied strata to the Chinese Devonian Guangxi Basin, and the South China Terrane in general. Furthermore, the conodont biofacies and the palaeogeographic distribution of the fauna are discussed.  相似文献

Abstract:  Most species of the Lower Jurassic ammonite genus Badouxia are restricted to the eastern Pacific where they are of fundamental importance to the Hettangian/Sinemurian ammonite zonation of North America. The fauna from the type area for the genus has been restudied and four species and two transitional forms are now recognized. Badouxia forticostata and Badouxia castlensis are new. Badouxia occidentalis (Frebold) and Badouxia oregonensis Taylor are placed in synonymy with Badouxia canadensis (Frebold). These major taxonomic changes and subsequent modification to the range of B . canadensis require revisions to the current zonation for the Western Cordillera of North America. The Oregonensis Zone is re-named the Mineralense Zone. The Canadensis Zone is abandoned and its previously defined Rursicostatum and Columbiae subzones are elevated to the level of full zones. Large samples indicate that most species of Badouxia display a remarkable range of continuously variable morphology. In addition, the genus shows some of the best-documented evidence of sexual dimorphism in Early Jurassic ammonites. Badouxia spans the Hettangian/Sinemurian boundary and based on the range of different species, five stratigraphic intervals are recognized. Intervals 1–3 correlate with the north-west European Angulata Zone. The majority of interval 4 and the whole of interval 5 correlate with the north-west European Bucklandi Zone. The age of the base of interval 4 is uncertain.  相似文献

The Couderousse Member of the Blacourt Formation in the Banc-Noir quarry, Ferques inlier, Boulonnais (Pas-de-Calais, France) has yielded a tooth plate whose morphology is similar to that of Synthetodus, which is considered a holocephalan. Its histology is made of an outer enameloid-like tissue, and an inner trabecular dentine. Its occlusal surface shows a bean-shaped bulge. This tooth plate was prepared from a limestone that is dated from the Middle–Upper varcus Conodont Zone, that is lower upper Givetian. This limestone has also yielded a Pokorninella bricae–Rothpletzella–Tentaculites assemblage, which is indicative of an environment of the inner to middle marine platform boundary. This specimen appears to be the oldest confirmed holocephalan (‘bradyodont’) tooth plate for which the name Melanodus loonesi nov. gen. et sp. is erected.  相似文献

Conodont biostratigraphical work was done at four sections recently found with occurrence of the rhynchonellide brachiopod genus, Dzieduszyckia Siemiradzki, in southern Guangxi and in the border area between Dushan County of Guizhou and Nandan County of Guangxi, South China. These sections represent two different types of facies, i.e., carbonate platform and intraplatform basin. The conodont analysis reveals that this genus occurs in the Upper triangularis Zone and the Middle crepida Zone at the Dazhai Section, through the Lower to Upper crepida zones at Dalong, and is restricted within the Upper rhomboidea Zone at the two intraplatform basin sections (Changtang and Duli). This result demonstrates that the occurrence of these peculiar rhynchonellide brachiopods in South China, regardless of the depositional environments, is within the Lower Famennian instead of the previously suggested Upper Famennian. Furthermore, this brachiopod genus in South China began to inhabit on the carbonate platform almost since the beginning of the Famennian and did not extend to the intraplatform basin facies until the late Early Famennian.Available biostratigraphic data indicate that during the Early and Middle Famennian, Dzieduszyckia is widely distributed not only in South China, but also throughout the world, such as Morocco and southern Ural.Observation on the new collections from the four studied sections reveals that the peculiar rhynchonellide brachiopods have a great morphological variation within each section. Significant differences existed among the collections from different sedimentary settings and localities, probably reflecting the environmental and geographic constraint on the morphology of Dzieduszyckia. Samples from different layers in the same section have nearly identical morphological variation, suggesting the temporal inheritance in morphology of the rhynchonellide brachiopod.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of a 7-day Zone diet compared with a normal diet on maximal oxygen uptake (V(O)2 max), running time to exhaustion during endurance performance, and body composition. Eight men, with the following physical characteristics (mean +/- SE), participated in this study: age, 26.1 +/- 1.9 years; height, 178 +/- 1.7 cm; mass, 70.7 +/- 2.1 kg; and V(O)2 max, 54.6 +/- 3.1 ml x kg(-1) x min(-1). All subjects undertook pretesting for V(O)2 max, time to exhaustion (80% V(O)2 max), and body composition (Biostat 1500) before following either the normal diet or the Zone diet for 7 days. These performance trials were performed before and after the dietary period. There was a significant (p < 0.05) decrease in total energy consumption from a mean of 2,314 +/- 334 kcal on a pretest diet to 1,994 +/- 438 kcal on the Zone diet. Subjects showed a significant reduction (p < 0.02) in body mass from 70.7 +/- 2.1 kg to 69.8 +/- 2.1 kg. In the 80% V(O)2 max time to exhaustion trial, there was a significant reduction (p < 0.05) in time to exhaustion from 37.68 +/- 8.6 minutes for the pretest diet to 34.11 +/- 7.01 minutes for the Zone diet. In conclusion, the claim of the authors of the Zone diet that performance time and V(O)2 max can be improved was not shown in this 1-week research trial. We would suggest that this is not a nutritional strategy that athletes should use until further work has been conducted.  相似文献

The trees and shrubs in Olearia sect. Divaricaster, sect. nov., are found in North, South, and Stewart Islands of New Zealand. They are distinguished by their small, opposite leaves borne on brachyblasts (short shoots), long shoots which abort apically, solitary or fascicled capitula, flowers with purple style arms, and a very distinctive insect fauna. The ten species and three subspecies, including the new O. fimbriata, O. gardneri and O. virgata subsp. centralis are revised and a key and distribution maps provided. The section includes four threatened species: O. hectorii, O. polita and the two new species. Species density is mapped in grid cells 1° latitude by 1° longitude. Areas west of the geological Median Tectonic Zone (Nelson, Westland and Fiordland) show relatively low diversity. The highest diversity, six species in one grid cell, is recorded in north-west Otago, around Mt Aspiring and the Humboldt Mountains. This region is also geologically significant as several allochthonous terranes are juxtaposed there. In the central South Island O. laxiflora, O. fimbriata and O. odorata have concentric distributions around what were Tertiary basins and inland seas. Members of the section favour fertile, lowland sites on alluvium and have suffered reduction in population size over the last century due to agricultural development. Several species, such as O. hectorii, the 'swamp gum', occur in sites which are periodically flooded. Olearia solandri is a coastal species, often growing as a mangrove associate, but occasionally found inland. The anomalous inland populations are discussed and their location attributed to geological uplift.  相似文献
