灌丛“肥岛”是全球干旱生态系统中的普遍现象,其发生和发展对干旱灌木、草原生态系统的结构和功能都具有重要影响,但其物种效应容易得到忽视。对准噶尔盆地南缘柽柳(Tamarix spp.)和梭梭(Haloxylon ammodendron)这两种不同地表形态灌木的冠下、冠缘和灌丛间地3种生境的土壤进行了采样、分析,结果表明:(1)柽柳和梭梭都存在“肥岛”现象,主要表现在土壤表层,其土壤性状与“岛”外土壤的差异随土壤深度增加而减弱;(2)生物性限制土壤养分由“岛”内向外梯度递减,而非生物性限制土壤要素可能高于、也可能低于“岛”外土壤,或者两者无显著差异;(3)从“肥岛”的空间尺度来看,柽柳“肥岛”的水平范围可能超出了本身冠幅覆盖区,而梭梭“肥岛”要小于本身冠幅覆盖区,其深度亦小于柽柳“肥岛”;(4)相对于不同土壤要素而言,即使是同一物种,其“肥岛”也具有不同的空间范围。总的来看,研究区灌丛“肥岛”的发育具有明显的物种效应,相对梭梭而言,柽柳“肥岛”发育更广、更深,养分聚集更明显,其原因主要是柽柳的半球型树冠更利于保护和捕获凋落物,而较多的凋落物输入与土壤结构和土壤养分间的正反馈机制使柽柳冠下加速的生物地球化学循环能达到更广、更深的范围。灌丛“肥岛”的发育是干旱景观中生物过程与物理过程交互作用的产物,全面揭示其形成机理,探讨其对干旱生态系统结构、功能与动态的影响,需要更系统的研究。  相似文献

为了探讨“盐岛”和“肥岛”效应影响下盐碱土的养分特征,对黄河三角洲盐碱地柽柳植株周围不同土层的pH值、电导率和碳氮磷含量及其生态化学计量学特征进行了研究.结果表明: 土壤pH和电导率均随土层的加深而升高,0~20 cm土层土壤电导率随离植株距离的增加而降低,全磷含量则升高.20~40 cm土层土壤有机碳、全氮、N/P和C/P随离柽柳植株距离的增加而降低,C/N则升高.随着土层的加深,有机碳和全氮均呈降低趋势,而全磷则先降低后升高.土壤pH与电导率呈显著正相关,且二者与土壤碳氮磷及其生态化学计量比之间均呈显著负相关.  相似文献

气候变化背景下, 干旱区生态系统植被恢复面临着巨大挑战, 具有重要的研究价值, 是生态学的重要研究方向。使用CiteSpace 软件对干旱区生态系统植被恢复的研究进展情况进行了数据挖掘和计量分析, 对该主题下发文数量变化趋势、主要研究力量以及研究主题发展路径进行了展示。研究发现: (1)发文数量整体呈现出显著增加的趋势, 大致经历了慢速、平稳、快速3个增长阶段, 不同阶段的研究热点不同。当前的研究主要集中于“土壤水分”、“弃耕地”、“生物土壤结皮”、“分层土壤”等聚类主题, 与工程学、水文学、地学等相关学科的交叉研究日益增加; (2)中国、美国和西班牙是发文量最多的国家, 中国科学院是发文数量最多的机构, 李新荣等人构成了该研究主题下的核心作者群; (3)气候变化背景下恢复植被抗旱策略、恢复生态系统结构和功能的变化规律可能是近期干旱区生态系统植被恢复的研究热点。  相似文献

在干旱、半干旱荒漠生态系统中,灌丛作为一种重要的植被类型,其独特的形态和生理适应特性能够有效促进退化生态系统结构与功能的恢复。土壤动物是荒漠生态系统中不可或缺的重要组成部分,对促进灌丛"肥岛"演变具有重要的生态作用,有利于灌丛生态功能的发挥及退化生态系统的恢复。近年来,国内外学者对荒漠灌丛微生境土壤动物的研究逐步深入,取得大量的研究成果。在此基础上,首先综述荒漠灌丛微生境土壤动物群落分布和生态功能,总结灌丛与土壤动物分布间作用关系的数学模型,针对荒漠灌丛土壤动物研究中存在的问题提出了未来可能的研究方向和建议。  相似文献

在干旱、半干旱区草场上,由于饮水的需求导致牲畜经常性地集中在水源点周围,从而使草地生态系统以水源点为中心呈梯度退化,形成水源圈.按照放牧影响程度的大小,以水源点为中心由内向外可将水源圈划分为“牺牲带”、过渡带和自然带3部分,水源圈内的植被、土壤等对放牧的响应也呈梯度变化.由于水源圈内存在着“天然的放牧梯度”,使其成为研究放牧对植被、土壤的影响和自然资源保护及其可持续利用的绝佳场所.本文对水源圈的概念、研究的发展历程和研究方法等进行了综述,并对国内研究现状进行了评述,以促进干旱、半干旱区草场的科学管理和可持续利用.  相似文献

灌木"肥岛"的形成和维持是物理和生物过程共同作用的结果。植物是影响灌木"肥岛"形成的关键因素;动物活动亦能影响土壤的理化性质,促进"肥岛"的形成。本文以中亚干旱区的代表性物种"柽柳"和"大沙鼠"为研究对象,研究了大沙鼠活动对柽柳沙包"肥岛"效应的影响。结果表明:无大沙鼠定居的柽柳沙包具有"肥岛"效应,但土壤养分含量并无显著提高;大沙鼠定居后,柽柳沙包出现明显的"肥岛"效应,土壤养分含量显著高于丘间对照地;大沙鼠活动促进了15~50cm深层土壤养分的富集,速效氮含量甚至是相同深度无洞柽柳沙包的2倍以上。表明大沙鼠活动促进了柽柳沙包"肥岛"的形成。  相似文献

灌木作为干旱半干旱地区植被的主要组成部分,对于维持生态系统稳定性和发挥生态服务功能具有重要作用。灌丛保育效应可以减轻限制性因子对目标植物生长和繁殖的不利影响,促进退化生境植物物种自然更新和植被恢复。本文综述了近20年有关灌丛保育效应研究和应用的主要成果,从微生境改善、肥岛形成、防御和抵抗作用发挥、有益微生物引入和协助繁殖体传播或保存以及种间竞争网络格局改变等方面阐述灌丛保育效应的促进机制,并从非生物环境、生物干扰、生活史阶段和生长繁殖策略等方面分析影响灌丛保育效应发挥的关键因素。从完善灌丛保育效应的理论机制和开展多因素共同作用下多植物物种相互作用关系模型构建角度,对灌丛保育效应的研究进行了展望。  相似文献

树干径流对梭梭"肥岛"和"盐岛"效应的作用机制   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
为探明荒漠灌木个体周围土壤养分和盐分的空间分布及其成因,以荒漠灌木梭梭(Haloxylon ammodendron Bge.)为研究对象,对其周围土壤pH值,电导率,有机碳,全氮和有效磷的空间异质性以及树干径流的化学性质进行了研究。结果表明:树干周围出现显著的"肥岛"效应,且土壤有机碳,全氮和有效磷的"肥岛"作用范围发生在距主根大约20—40 cm以内。土壤pH值和电导率在主根周围25 cm以内的值却显著低于外围,而在离主根25 cm处出现了"盐岛",即在梭梭主根中心形成了一种高养分、低盐和低pH值的环境。树干径流和自然降雨化学性质的对比研究表明:除pH值和CO23-外,树干径流中其他化学离子的含量均显著高于自然降雨中的含量,说明这种高养分、低盐分的环境是由树干径流引起的,也就是树干径流带给土壤养分的同时将盐分带走。  相似文献

Empirical work in arid shrubland systems has documented a distinct spatial pattern of soil nutrient distribution, with higher concentrations of nutrients under shrub canopies compared to bare ground interspaces between shrubs. This “fertile island” pattern is considered characteristic of arid ecosystems. However, recent work at a desertified shrubland site reported no island of fertility pattern for nitrogen inside a long-term grazing exclosure despite a strong fertile island pattern outside the exclosure, leading to a hypothesis that the pattern may be associated with grazing. In this paper we examine this hypothesis in two ways. First, we collected soil nitrogen data inside and outside two long-term livestock exclosures. Second, we examined published work on the fertile island pattern for nitrogen, phosphorus and carbon, and its association with livestock grazing. At the field sites, there was a strong fertile island pattern for soil nitrogen in the grazed area outside each exclosure but no fertile island pattern in the ungrazed area inside the fence. From the literature, we identified 49 studies, which represent 99 cases that examine differences in soil nutrients under and between shrubs (that is, tests of the fertile island pattern). In 92 cases, fertile islands were present for at least one of the nutrients. All cases where livestock grazing was present exhibited fertile island patterns for nitrogen and most did so for carbon and phosphorus. In contrast, fertile islands were less consistent where livestock grazing was absent; all nine cases that had been ungrazed for more than 30 years did not exhibit fertile islands for nitrogen. Our empirical data and literature review suggest that the fertile island pattern may be an artifact of grazing rather than an inherent property of arid shrublands. Further, we suggest that the grazing history of a site needs to be explicitly considered when documenting spatial patterns of soil nutrients in arid systems. This has significant implications for our understanding of soil nutrient dynamics in arid systems, the management of rangelands, and the potential for reversal of desertification.  相似文献

以天山北坡绿洲 荒漠过渡带为研究区,选择3种类型的灌丛并采集不同位置和深度的灌丛土壤样品进行分析,研究灌丛土壤资源的聚集效应.结果表明,干旱区绿洲 荒漠过渡带不同类型灌丛对土壤粒度分布的影响不显著,土壤以砂和粉砂为主,红柳+裸地灌丛土壤粒度分布的聚集效应明显;灌丛土壤有机质、全氮和速效钾含量在冠幅下最高,其次为灌丛间低矮植物下,灌丛间裸地最低,呈现出明显的“肥岛”现象;不同灌丛类型和采样位置对土壤盐分离子和总盐含量的变化影响显著,且不同灌丛土壤资源的聚集效应各异;导致不同类型灌丛土壤资源富集率不同的原因有气候因素、灌木分布的土壤环境、灌丛高度和冠幅、灌丛间有无低矮植物等.  相似文献

全球变暖导致的区域干旱使得干旱区水资源日益匮乏,而迅速增长的人口和社会经济发展进一步加剧水资源危机,使得有限的水资源成为全球沙漠化防治瓶颈,严重制约了沙化土地治理进程,影响了联合国"土地退化总面积零增长"目标的实现,也影响了中国社会经济的可持续和协调发展。传统的沙化土地治理生物措施重视植被盖度增加,忽视生态系统其他要素,如土壤水分、养分等与植被的相互关系,导致一些治理措施相对简单,生态系统不能协调发展。而沙化土地治理的物理措施和化学措施由于忽视了沙区社会和经济效益,其可持续性也受到科学家质疑。近期获批的国家重点研发计划项目"中国北方半干旱荒漠区沙漠化防治关键技术与示范"(2016YFC0500900)拟针对此问题开展研究,以沙化土地稳定恢复为首要目标,在认识半干旱荒漠区沙化土地正/逆过程演变机制和荒漠生态系统稳定性的基础上,研究沙化土地稳定恢复的生态阈值;以毛乌素沙地、库布齐沙漠东部、科尔沁沙地西部和呼伦贝尔沙地为典型区,针对不同沙化土地特点,研发防沙治沙关键技术,开展模式优化和试验示范;在防沙治沙模式与工程效益评估基础上,集成产业化技术体系,为国家防沙治沙工程建设提供理论基础与技术支撑。  相似文献

植被作为生态系统的重要组成部分,联结着大气、水分和土壤等自然过程,其变化将直接影响该区域气候水文和土壤等状况,是区域生态系统质量变化的重要指示器。植被状况的好坏,主要通过生物量和植被覆盖度因子来表示。内蒙古自治区是我国北方生态环境问题十分严重的省份,弄清当前区域生态系统质量状况与变化及其近10年来变化的驱动因素,对分析与制定区域生态环境保护决策具有十分重要的意义。基于2000—2010年生物量和植被覆盖度,并结合地区植被区划数据,对内蒙古植被生态系统质量状况进行分析,并评估其与气候(降水、温度),人类活动(交通密度、农业发展、生态恢复工程)的相关关系,在此基础上探讨了气候和人类活动对近年来内蒙古生态系统质量变化的影响。结果表明:(1)内蒙古生态系统质量状况整体偏低,其中森林生态系统平均质量最高,灌丛、草原生态系统次之。空间分布呈明显的经度地带性,由东向西,质量逐渐降低。2000—2010年内蒙古生态系统质量总体上呈现缓慢增长趋势,但局部地区生态系统质量仍存在恶化,其中在107°E以东的草原和森林区域,生态系统质量变化十分剧烈。(2)近10年来内蒙古生态系统质量的变化与气候和人类活动的关系非常密切,其与降水、GDP1、化肥施用量、天保工程和退耕还草工程呈现明显的正相关。而与温度、道路密度和京津风沙治理工程呈现明显的负相关。其中,生态保护工程实施区域内和区域外的相关性存在显著的差异性。随着内蒙古社会经济的快速发展,人类活动对生态系统质量的影响逐渐加强,但降水仍是该地区生态系统质量的主要影响因子。(3)在内蒙古生态系统质量变化典型区域内,质量的增长主要是由于降水的增加、温度的降低、农业的发展、退耕还草工程的作用和交通发展的放缓。质量的降低则是因为降水的减少、温度的增加、农业发展缓慢和交通发展的加快所致。  相似文献

Wind is known to affect the spatial heterogeneity of soil resources in arid and semiarid systems, but multi-year, quantified observations are largely absent. We studied the effects of wind erosion on the spatial distribution of soil organic carbon (SOC) and other soil nutrients at the Jornada Experimental Range, in southern New Mexico. Enhanced wind erosion was encouraged by grass cover reduction in a Sporobolus-mesquite dominated site (SM) and a Bouteloua-mesquite dominated site (BM). The scale and magnitude of spatial dependence for the soil analytes were quantified using geostatistical analyses. Results of this study show that soil organic matter related analytes such as SOC, TN, Navail, and SO4 2- are among the first to be eroded and redistributed; cations such as Ca2+ and Mg2+ may not be removed and redistributed significantly; and other ions such as K+, Na+ and Cl showed no discernible pattern of change. Geostatistics show that wind appeared to increase the scale of spatial autocorrelation, but decrease the scale of spatial dependence of most soil analytes over 2–3 windy seasons. In the wind enhanced plot of the SM site, up to 99% of the spatial dependence of SOC was autocorrelated at the distance of 1.45 m before the initiation of wind erosion, but the spatial dependence dropped significantly to only 60% at a larger autocorrelation distance of 2.76 m after three windy seasons. Similar but less significant changes were observed for SOC in the BM site. Despite the differential effects of wind on the soil analytes, we conclude that the overall results of wind on the grass cover reduction plots are the disappearance of small, strong fertile islands, which may be related to grasses; and the reinforcement of large fertile islands, which are likely related to mesquite shrubs. In addition, the change of the spatial patterns of SOC and other soil nutrients induced by enhanced wind erosion may persist and reinforce soil islands associated with shrubs, thus allowing a positive feedback for further desertification in this arid grassland.  相似文献

Many studies have focused on soil nutrient heterogeneity and islands of fertility in arid ecosystems. However, few have been conducted on an oasis-desert transitional zone where there is a vegetation pattern changing from shrubs to annual herbs. The goal of the present study was to understand vegetation and soil nutrient heterogenity along an oasis-desert transitional zone in northwestern China. Three replicated sampling belts were selected at 200 m intervals along the transitional zone. Twenty-one quadrats (10 x 10m) at 50m intervals were located along each sampling belt. The vegetation cover was estimated through the quadrats, where both the soil under the canopy and the open soil were sampled simultaneously. The dominated shrub was Haloxylon ammodendron in the areas close to the oasis and Nitraria tangutorum dominated the areas close to the desert. In general, along the transitional zone the vegetation cover decreased within 660 m, increased above 660 m and decreased again above 1 020 m (close to the desert). The soil nutrients (organic matter, total N, NO3^- and NH4^+) showed significant differences along the zone. The soil nutrients except the soil NH4^+ under the canopy were higher than those in open soil, confirming "islands of fertility" or nutrient enrichment. Only a slight downward trend of the level of "islands of fertility" for soil organic matter appeared in the area within 900 m. Soil organic matter both under canopy and in interspace showed a positive correlation with the total vegetation cover, however, there was no significant correlation between the other soil nutrients and the total vegetation cover. We also analyzed the relationship between the shrubs and annuals and the soil nutrients along the zone. Similarly, there was no significant correlation between them, except soil organic matter with the annuals. The results implied that annual plants played an important role in soil nutrient enrichment in arid ecosystem.  相似文献

Remotely-sensed vegetation indices, which indicate the density and photosynthetic capacity of vegetation, have been widely used to monitor vegetation dynamics over broad areas. In this paper, we reviewed satellite-based studies on vegetation cover changes, biomass and productivity variations, phenological dynamics, desertification, and grassland degradation in China that occurred over the past 2–3 decades. Our review shows that the satellite-derived index (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index, NDVI) during growing season and the vegetation net primary productivity in major terrestrial ecosystems (for example forests, grasslands, shrubs, and croplands) have significantly increased, while the number of fresh lakes and vegetation coverage in urban regions have experienced a substantial decline. The start of the growing season continually advanced in China's temperate regions until the 1990s, with a large spatial heterogeneity. We also found that the coverage of sparsely-vegetated areas declined, and the NDVI per unit in vegetated areas increased in arid and semi-arid regions because of increased vegetation activity in grassland and oasis areas. However, these results depend strongly not only on the periods chosen for investigation, but also on factors such as data sources, changes in detection methods, and geospatial heterogeneity. Therefore, we should be cautious when applying remote sensing techniques to monitor vegetation structures, functions, and changes.  相似文献

Abstract. It is remarkable that after many thousands of years of pastoralism in arid and semi‐arid savannas, there is still no clear answer to the basic question: Does livestock grazing have more than a marginal effect on the dynamics of arid and semi‐arid land vegetation? A small study of semi‐arid savanna vegetation along a spatial gradient in grazing pressure, repeated three times over 19 years is used as a basis for discussing the behaviour of dry land vegetation under heavy grazing. Three basic theories are compared: (1) the theory that heavy grazing causes desertification; (2) the theory that heavy grazing causes no directed change in the vegetation of arid and semi‐arid rangelands; and (3) the theory that heavy grazing leads to a switch between alternative states of vegetation. On the basis of the current data the first two theories are rejected, but the conclusion is that there is much evidence for a more complex behaviour of dry rangelands under grazing than what is accommodated in any of the three theories. Probably, site‐specific properties including interactive and indirect effects of herbivory in the system are important for vegetation development under grazing in arid and semi‐arid rangelands.  相似文献
