Susceptibility to thrombosis varies in human populations as well as many inbred mouse strains. Only a small portion of this variation has been identified, suggesting that there are unknown modifier genes. The objective of this study was to narrow the quantitative trait locus (QTL) intervals previously identified for hemostasis and thrombosis on mouse distal chromosome 11 (Hmtb6) and on chromosome 5 (Hmtb4 and Hmtb5). In a tail bleeding/rebleeding assay, a reporter assay for hemostasis and thrombosis, subcongenic strain (6A-2) had longer clot stability time than did C57BL/6J (B6) mice but a similar time to the B6-Chr11A/J consomic mice, confirming the Hmtb6 phenotype. Six congenic and subcongenic strains were constructed for chromosome 5, and the congenic strain, 2A-1, containing the shortest A/J interval (16.6 cM, 26.6 Mbp) in the Hmtb4 region, had prolonged clot stability time compared to B6 mice. In the 3A-2 and CSS-5 mice bleeding time was shorter than for B6, mice confirming the Hmtb5 QTL. An increase in bleeding time was identified in another congenic strain (3A-1) with A/J interval (24.8 cM, 32.9 Mbp) in the proximal region of chromosome 5, confirming a QTL for bleeding previously mapped to that region and designated as Hmtb10. The subcongenic strain 4A-2 with the A/J fragment in the proximal region had a long occlusion time of the carotid artery after ferric chloride injury and reduced dilation after injury to the abdominal aorta compared to B6 mice, suggesting an additional locus in the proximal region, which was designated Hmtb11 (5 cM, 21.4 Mbp). CSS-17 mice crossed with congenic strains, 3A-1 and 3A-2, modified tail bleeding. Using congenic and subcongenic analysis, candidate genes previously identified and novel genes were identified as modifiers of hemostasis and thrombosis in each of the loci Hmtb6, Hmtb4, Hmtb10, and Hmtb11.  相似文献

Two overlapping quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for clot stability, Hmtb8 and Hmtb9, were identified on mouse chromosome 17 in an F2 intercross derived from C57BL/6J (B6) and B6-Chr17A/J (B6-Chr17) mouse strains. The intervals were in synteny with a QTL for thrombotic susceptibility on chromosome 18 in a human study, and there were 23 homologs between mouse and human. The objective of this study was to determine whether any of these genes in the syntenic region are likely candidates as modifiers for clot stability. Seven genes, Twsg1, Zfp161, Dlgap1, Ralbp1, Myom1, Rab31, and Emilin2, of the 23 genes with single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the mRNA-UTR had differential expression in B6 and A/J mice. Dlgap1, Ralbp1, Myom1, and Emilin2 also had nonsynonymous SNPs. In addition, two other genes had nonsynonymous SNPs, Lama1 and Ndc80. Of these nine candidate genes, Emilin2 was selected for further analysis since other EMILIN (Elastin Microfibril Interface Located Protein) proteins have known functions in vascular structure and coagulation. Differences were found between B6 and A/J mice in vessel wall architecture and EMILIN2 protein in plasma, carotid vessel wall, and thrombi formed after ferric chloride injury. In B6-Chr17A/J mice both clot stability and Emilin2 mRNA expression were higher compared to those in B6 and A/J mice, suggesting the exposure of epistatic interactions. Although other homologous genes in the QTL region cannot be ruled out as causative genes, further investigation of Emilin2 as a candidate gene for thrombosis susceptibility is warranted.  相似文献

Discovery of genes that confer resistance to diseases such as diet-induced obesity could have tremendous therapeutic impact. We previously demonstrated that the C57BL/6J-ChrA/J/NaJ panel of chromosome substitution strains (CSSs) is a unique model for studying resistance to diet-induced obesity. In the present study, three replicate CSS surveys showed remarkable consistency, with 13 A/J-derived chromosomes reproducibly conferring resistance to high-fat-diet-induced obesity. Twenty CSS intercrosses, one derived from each of the 19 autosomes and chromosome X, were used to determine the number and location of quantitative trait loci (QTLs) on individual chromosomes and localized six QTLs. However, analyses of mean body weight in intercross progeny versus C57BL/6J provided strong evidence that many QTLs discovered in the CSS surveys eluded detection in these CSS intercrosses. Studies of the temporal effects of these QTLs suggest that obesity resistance was dynamic, with QTLs acting at different ages or after different durations of diet exposure. Thus, these studies provide insight into the genetic architecture of complex traits such as resistance to diet-induced obesity in the C57BL/6J-ChrA/J/NaJ CSSs. Because some of the QTLs detected in the CSS intercrosses were not detected using a traditional C57BL/6J × A/J intercross, our results demonstrate that surveys of CSSs and congenic strains derived from them are useful complementary tools for analyzing complex traits.  相似文献

Chromosome substitution strains (CSS or consomic strains) are useful for mapping phenotypes to chromosomes. However, huge efforts are needed to identify the gene(s) responsible for the phenotype in the complex context of the chromosome. Here we report the identification of candidate disease genes from a CSS by using a combination of genetic and genomic approaches and by using knowledge about the germ cell tumor disease etiology. We used the CSS 129.MOLF-Chr19 chromosome substitution strain, in which males develop germ cell tumors of the testes at an extremely high rate. We were able to identify three protein-coding genes and one microRNA on chromosome 19 that have previously not been implicated to be testicular tumor susceptibility genes. Our findings suggest that changes in gene expression levels in the gonadal tissues of multiple genes from Chr 19 likely contribute to the high testicular germ cell tumor (TGCT) incidence of the 129.MOLF-Chr19 strain. Our data advance the use of CSS to identify disease susceptibility genes and demonstrate that the 129.MOLF-Chr19 strain serves as a useful model to elucidate the genetics and biology of germ cell transformation and tumor development. Recent evidence suggests that the human neuromuscular disorders, hyperkalemic periodic paralysis and paramyotonia congenita, are both caused by genetic defects in the -subunit of the adult skeletal muscle sodium channel, which maps near the growth hormone cluster (GH) on Chromosome (Chr) 17q. In view of the extensive homology between this human chromosome and mouse Chr 11, we typed an interspecies backcross to determine whether the murine homolog (Scn4a) of this sodium channel gene mapped within the conserved chromosomal segment. The cytosolic thymidine kinase gene, Tk-1, was also positioned on the genetic map of Chr 11. Both Scn4a and Tk-1 showed clear linkage to mouse Chr 11 loci previously typed in this backcross, yielding the map order: Tr J-(Re, Hox-2, Krt-1)-Scn4a-Tk-1. No mouse mutant that could be considered a model of either hyperkalemic periodic paralysis or paramyotonia congenita has been mapped to the appropriate region of mouse Chr 11. These data incorporate an additional locus into the already considerable degree of homology observed for these human and mouse chromosomes. These data are also consistent with the view that the conserved segment region may extend to the telomere on mouse Chr 11 and on human 17q.  相似文献

We report the construction of 17 recombinant inbred (RI) strains of mice derived from the progenitor strains NZB/BINRe and SM/J and the typing of this RI strain set, designated NXSM, for 58 loci distributed on 16 autosomes and the X chromosome. Two backcrosses involving NZB/BINJ and SM/J were constructed to confirm chromosomal assignments and determine gene orders suggested from NXSM RI strain data. From these results we recommend that chromosomal assignments and gene orders suggested from analyses of RI strain sets be confirmed using data obtained by other means. We also typed NZB/BINJ and SM/J for mammary tumor proviral (Mtv) loci. Both strains share three previously described Mtv loci: Mtv-7, Mtv-14 and Mtv-17. In addition, NZB/BINJ contains the previously described Mtv-3 and Mtv-9 loci and two new Mtv proviral loci: Mtv-27 located on chromosome (Chr) 1 and Mtv-28 located on the X chromosome. SM/J contains the previously described loci Mtv-6 and Mtv-8. Four LTR, mink cell focus-forming murine leukemia viral loci were identified and mapped: Ltrm-1 on Chr 12, Ltrm-2 on Chr 16, Ltrm-3 on Chr 5, and Ltrm-4 on Chr 13. The Tgn locus was positioned proximal to the Ly-6 locus on Chr 15.  相似文献

Objective: Previous studies in mice have detected quantitative trait loci (QTLs) on chromosome 7 that affect body composition. As a step toward identifying the responsible genes, we compared a chromosome 7 substitution strain C57BL/6J‐Chr7129S1/SvImJ/Na (CSS‐7) to its host (C57BL/6J) strain. Methods and Procedures: Fourteen‐week‐old mice were measured for body size (weight, length), organ weight (brain, heart, liver, kidneys, and spleen), body and bone composition (fat and lean weight; bone area, mineral content, and density), and individual adipose depot weights (gonadal, retroperitoneal, mesenteric, inguinal, and subscapular). Differences between the CSS‐7 strain and the host strain were interpreted as evidence for the presence of one or more QTLs on chromosome 7. Results: Using this criterion, we detected QTLs for body weight, bone area, bone mineral content, brain, and heart weight, most adipose depot weights and some indices of fatness. A few strain differences were more pronounced in males (e.g., most adiposity measures) and others were more pronounced in females (e.g., bone area). QTLs for body length, lean weight, bone mineral density, and kidney, spleen, and liver weight were not detected. Discussion: This study found several associations that suggest one or more QTLs specific to the weight of select tissues and organs exist on mouse chromosome 7. Because these loci are detectable on a fixed and uniform genetic background, they are reasonable targets for high‐resolution mapping and gene identification using a congenic approach.  相似文献

Previous research utilizing the AcB/BcA recombinant congenic strains (RCS) of mice mapped provisional quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for the psychostimulant effects of nicotine to multiple regions on chromosomes 7, 11, 12, 14, 16, and 17. The current study was designed to confirm these QTLs in an A/J (A) × C57Bl/6J (B6) F2 cross and a panel of B6.A chromosome substitution strains (CSS). The panel of B6.A CSS consists of 21 strains, each carrying a different A/J chromosome on a B6 background. The A × B6 F2, CSS, A, and B6 mice were tested for sensitivity to the effects of nicotine on locomotor activity using a computerized open-field apparatus. In A × B6 F2 mice two QTLs were identified which confirm those previously observed in the AcB/BcA RCS. Significant differences in the expression of nicotine-induced activity were associated with loci on chromosome 11 (D11Mit62) and chromosome 16 (D16Mit131) in the A × B6 F2. At the chromosome 11 QTL, an A allele was associated with lower nicotine-induced activity scores relative to the B6. In contrast, the A allele was associated with greater relative nicotine activity values for the chromosome 16 QTL. A survey of the CSS panel confirmed the presence of QTLs for nicotine activation on chromosomes 2, 14, 16, and 17 previously identified in the AcB/BcA RCS. In the informative CSS strains, A alleles were consistently associated with greater nicotine-induced activity scores compared to the B6. The results of the present study are the first to validate QTLs for sensitivity to the effects of nicotine across multiple strains of mice. QTLs on chromosomes 2, 11, 14, 16, and 17 were confirmed in CSS and/or F2 mice. Significantly, the identification of a QTL on chromosome 16 has now been replicated in three crosses derived from the A and B6 progenitors.  相似文献

Quantitative trait loci for baseline erythroid traits   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
A substantial genetic contribution underlies variation in baseline peripheral blood counts. We performed quantitative trait locus/loci (QTL) analyses to identify chromosome (Chr) regions harboring genes influencing the baseline erythroid parameters in F2 intercrosses between NZW/LacJ, SM/J, and C57BLKS/J inbred mice. We identified multiple significant QTL for red blood cell (RBC) count, hemoglobin (Hgb) and hematocrit (Hct) levels, mean corpuscular volume (MCV), mean corpuscular hemoglobin (MCH), and mean cell hemoglobin concentration (CHCM). We identified four RBC count QTL: Rbcq1 (Chr 1, peak LOD score at 62 cM,), Rbcq2 (Chr 4, 60 cM), Rbcq3 (Chr 11, 34 cM), and Rbcq4 (Chr 10, 60 cM). Three MCV QTL were identified: Mcvq1 (Chr 7, 30 cM), Mvcq2 (Chr 11, 6 cM), and Mcvq3 (Chr 10, 60 cM). Single significant loci for Hgb (Hgbq1, Chr 16, 32 cM), Hct (Hctq1, Chr 3, 42 cM), and MCH (Mchq1, Chr 10, 60 cM) were identified. The data support the existence of a common RBC/MCH/MCV locus on Chr 10. Two QTL for CHCM (Chcmq1, Chr 2, 48 cM; Chcmq2, Chr 9, 44 cM) and an interaction between Chcmq2 with a locus on Chr 19 were identified. These analyses emphasize the genetic complexity underlying the regulation of erythroid peripheral blood traits in normal populations and suggest that genes not previously recognized as significantly impacting normal erythropoiesis exist.  相似文献

We have mapped the gene encoding the murine RYK growth factor receptor protein tyrosine kinase by genetic linkage analysis with recombinant inbred strains of mouse. Two distinct Ryk loci (Ryk-1 and Ryk-2) were identified. Ryk-1 mapped to Chromosome (Chr) 9, whereas Ryk-2 mapped to Chr 12. A similar arrangement of RYK-related loci was previously determined in the human. Synteny has already been established between murine Chr 9 in the region of Ryk-1, and human chromosome 3q11–12, the location of the human RYK-1 gene. However, the Ryk-2/RYK-2 loci on murine Chr 12 and human chr 17p13.3 define a new region of synteny.  相似文献

Hybrid sterility as a postzygotic reproductive isolation mechanism has been studied for over 80 years, yet the first identifications of hybrid sterility genes in Drosophila and mouse are quite recent. To study the genetic architecture of F1 hybrid sterility between young subspecies of house mouse Mus m. domesticus and M. m. musculus, we conducted QTL analysis of a backcross between inbred strains representing these two subspecies and probed the role of individual chromosomes in hybrid sterility using the intersubspecific chromosome substitution strains. We provide direct evidence that the asymmetry in male infertility between reciprocal crosses is conferred by the middle region of M. m. musculus Chr X, thus excluding other potential candidates such as Y, imprinted genes, and mitochondrial DNA. QTL analysis identified strong hybrid sterility loci on Chr 17 and Chr X and predicted a set of interchangeable autosomal loci, a subset of which is sufficient to activate the Dobzhansky–Muller incompatibility of the strong loci. Overall, our results indicate the oligogenic nature of F1 hybrid sterility, which should be amenable to reconstruction by proper combination of chromosome substitution strains. Such a prefabricated model system should help to uncover the gene networks and molecular mechanisms underlying hybrid sterility.  相似文献

Inheritance of T-associated sex reversal in mice   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
We previously identified a primary sex-determining locus, Tas, on mouse Chr 17 that causes ovarian tissue development in C57BL/6J Thp/+ and TOrl/+ individuals if the AKR/JY chromosome is present. We hypothesized that Tas is located within the region of Chr 17 deleted by Thp and TOrl and that C57BL/6J carries a diagnostic Tas allele, based on the observation that ovarian tissue develops in XY mice when Thp is on a C57BL/6J inbred strain background, whereas normal testicular development occurs when Thp is on a C3H/HeSnJ inbred strain background. To test this hypothesis, we mated (C57BL/6J x C3H/HeSnJ)F1 females to C57BL/6J Thp/+ hermaphrodites. As expected, half of the XY Thp/+ offspring developed ovarian and testicular tissue while half developed exclusively testicular tissue. Unexpectedly, the inheritance of selected Chr 17 molecular loci was independent of gonadal development, as half of the male and hermaphroditic offspring inherited C3H/HeSnJ-derived Chr 17 loci and half inherited C57BL/6J-derived Chr 17 loci. We conclude that for ovarian tissue to develop in an XY Thp/+ or XY TOrl/+ individual (1) Tas must be present in a hemizygous state, which is accomplished by heterozygosity for the Thp or TOrl deletions; (2) the AKR/J-derived Y chromosome must be present; and (3) an additional locus involved in primary sex determination must be present in a homozygous C57BL/6J state. This newly identified gene may be one of the previously defined loci, tda-1 or tda-2.  相似文献

Dystrophic cardiac calcinosis (DCC), also called epicardial and myocardial fibrosis and mineralization, has been detected in mice of a number of laboratory inbred strains, most commonly C3H/HeJ and DBA/2J. In previous mouse breeding studies between these DCC susceptible and the DCC-resistant strain C57BL/6J, 4 genetic loci harboring genes involved in DCC inheritance were identified and subsequently termed Dyscalc loci 1 through 4. Here, we report susceptibility to cardiac fibrosis, a sub-phenotype of DCC, at 12 and 20 months of age and close to natural death in a survey of 28 inbred mouse strains. Eight strains showed cardiac fibrosis with highest frequency and severity in the moribund mice. Using genotype and phenotype information of the 28 investigated strains, we performed genome-wide association studies (GWAS) and identified the most significant associations on chromosome (Chr) 15 at 72 million base pairs (Mb) (P < 10?13) and Chr 4 at 122 Mb (P < 10?11) and 134 Mb (P < 10?7). At the Chr 15 locus, Col22a1 and Kcnk9 were identified. Both have been reported to be morphologically and functionally important in the heart muscle. The strongest Chr 4 associations were located approximately 6 Mb away from the Dyscalc 2 quantitative trait locus peak within the boundaries of the Extl1 gene and in close proximity to the Trim63 and Cap1 genes. In addition, a single-nucleotide polymorphism association was found on chromosome 11. This study provides evidence for more than the previously reported 4 genetic loci determining cardiac fibrosis and DCC. The study also highlights the power of GWAS in the mouse for dissecting complex genetic traits.  相似文献

The LEC rat has been reported to exhibit X-ray hypersensitivity and deficiency in DNA double-strand break (DSB) repair. The present study was performed to map the locus responsible for this phenotype, the xhs (X-ray hypersensitivity), as the first step in identifying the responsible gene. Analysis of the progeny of (BN × LEC)F1× LEC backcrosses indicated that the X-ray hypersensitive phenotype was controlled by multiple genetic loci in contrast to the results reported previously. Quantitative trait loci (QTL) linkage analysis revealed two responsible loci located on Chromosomes (Chr) 4 and 1. QTL on Chr 4 exhibited very strong linkage to the X-ray hypersensitive phenotype, while QTL on Chr 1 showed weak linkage. The Rad52 locus, mutation of which results in hypersensitivity to ionizing radiation and impairment of DNA DSB repair in yeast, was reported to be located on the synteneic regions of mouse Chr 6 and human Chr 12. However, mapping of the rat Rad52 locus indicated that it was located 23 cM distal to the QTL on Chr 4. Furthermore, none of the radio-sensitivity-related loci mapped previously in the rat chromosome were identical to the QTL on Chrs 4 and 1 in the LEC rat. Thus, it seems that X-ray hypersensitivity in the LEC rat is caused by mutation(s) in as-yet-undefined genes. Received: 14 February 2000 / Accepted: 17 May 2000  相似文献

To identify genetic loci influencing lipid levels, we performed quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis between inbred mouse strains MRL/MpJ and SM/J, measuring triglyceride levels at 8 weeks of age in F2 mice fed a chow diet. We identified one significant QTL on chromosome (Chr) 15 and three suggestive QTL on Chrs 2, 7, and 17. We also carried out microarray analysis on the livers of parental strains of 282 F2 mice and used these data to find cis-regulated expression QTL. We then narrowed the list of candidate genes under significant QTL using a "toolbox" of bioinformatic resources, including haplotype analysis; parental strain comparison for gene expression differences and nonsynonymous coding single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP); cis-regulated eQTL in livers of F2 mice; correlation between gene expression and phenotype; and conditioning of expression on the phenotype. We suggest Slc25a7 as a candidate gene for the Chr 7 QTL and, based on expression differences, five genes (Polr3 h, Cyp2d22, Cyp2d26, Tspo, and Ttll12) as candidate genes for Chr 15 QTL. This study shows how bioinformatics can be used effectively to reduce candidate gene lists for QTL related to complex traits.  相似文献

Fluorescent in situ hybridization (FISH) -- using mouse chromosome paints, probes for the mouse major centromeric satellite DNA, and probes for genes on chromosomes (Chr) 16 and 17 -- was employed to locate the breakpoint in a translocation used to produce a mouse model for Down syndrome. The Ts65Dn trisomy is derived from the reciprocal translocation T(16;17)65Dn. The Ts65Dn mouse carries a marker chromosome containing the distal segment of Chr 16, a region that shows linkage conservation with human Chr 21, and the proximal end of Chr 17. This chromosome confers trisomy for most of the genes in the Chr 16 segment and Ts65Dn mice show many of the phenotypic features characteristic of Down syndrome. We used FISH on metaphase chromosomes from translocation T65Dn/+ heterozygotes and Ts65Dn mice to show that the Chr 17 breakpoint is distal to the heterochromatin of Chr 17, that the Ts65Dn marker chromosome contains a small portion of Chr 17 euchromatin, that the Chr 16 breakpoint lies between the Ncam2 and Gabpa/App genes, and that the Ts65Dn chromosome contains >80% of the human Chr 21 homologs. The significance of this finding is discussed in terms of the utility of this mouse model.  相似文献

The IGF‐1 signaling pathway plays an important role in regulating longevity. To identify the genetic loci and genes that regulate plasma IGF‐1 levels, we intercrossed MRL/MpJ and SM/J, inbred mouse strains that differ in IGF‐1 levels. Quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis of IGF‐1 levels of these F2 mice detected four QTL on chromosomes (Chrs) 9 (48 Mb), 10 (86 Mb), 15 (18 Mb), and 17 (85 Mb). Haplotype association mapping of IGF‐1 levels in 28 domesticated inbred strains identified three suggestive loci in females on Chrs 2 (13 Mb), 10 (88 Mb), and 17 (28 Mb) and in four males on Chrs 1 (159 Mb), 3 (52 and 58 Mb), and 16 (74 Mb). Except for the QTL on Chr 9 and 16, all loci co‐localized with IGF‐1 QTL previously identified in other mouse crosses. The most significant locus was the QTL on Chr 10, which contains the Igf1 gene and which had a LOD score of 31.8. Haplotype analysis among 28 domesticated inbred strains revealed a major QTL on Chr 10 overlapping with the QTL identified in the F2 mice. This locus showed three major haplotypes; strains with haplotype 1 had significantly lower plasma IGF‐1 and extended longevity (P < 0.05) than strains with haplotype 2 or 3. Bioinformatic analysis, combined with sequencing and expression studies, showed that Igf1 is the most likely QTL gene, but that other genes may also play a role in this strong QTL.  相似文献

Genetic control of homeostasis of peripheral CD4+ lymphocyte levels is incompletely understood. Recent genome scans have linked mouse peripheral CD4 levels to chromosome 17, with strongest linkage to the Ea region. Nonobese diabetic (NOD) mice demonstrate peripheral T-cell lymphocytosis, and previous studies also suggested that the MHC region might control this phenotype. Here we confirm that loci on Chr 17 control NOD peripheral CD4 lymphocytosis. An elevated NOD CD4:CD8 ratio maps to the same region, and we show it is due to increased numbers of CD4+ cells. However, using NOD MHC congenic mice, we demonstrate that the MHC region is excluded, and that NOD peripheral lymphocytosis is controlled by genetic intervals adjacent to the MHC region on Chr 17.  相似文献

A map of rat Chromosome (Chr) 10 was generated from 21 markers, mostly of conserved structural genes, by linkage analysis and fluorescence in situ hybridization. The study emphasizes the proximal third of the chromosome which, until now, has been relatively devoid of markers. Based on comparative analysis, our data suggest that genes on rat Chr 10 are conserved on mouse Chr 11, 16, 17 and human Chr 16, 5, and 17. C57BL/6 J (B6) and CAST/EiJ (CAST), the inbred strain derived from M. musculus castaneus, differ in nutrient intake behaviors, including dietary fat and carbohydrate consumption in a two-diet-choice paradigm. Significant quantitative trait loci (QTLs) for carbohydrate (Mnic1) and total energy intake (Kcal2) are present between these strains on chromosome (Chr) 17. Here we report the refinement of the Chr 17 QTL in a subcongenic strain of the B6.CAST- D17Mit19-D17Mit91 congenic mice described previously. This new subcongenic strain possesses CAST Chr 17 donor alleles from 4.8 to 45.4 Mb on a B6 background. Similar to CAST, the subcongenic mice exhibit increased carbohydrate and total calorie intake per body weight, while fat intake remains equivalent. Unexpectedly, this CAST genomic segment also confers two new physical activity phenotypes: 22% higher spontaneous physical activity levels and significantly increased voluntary wheel-running activity compared with the parental B6 strain. Overall, these data suggest that gene(s) involved in carbohydrate preference and increased physical activity are contained within the proximal region of Chr 17. Interval-specific microarray analysis in hypothalamus and skeletal muscle revealed differentially expressed genes within the subcongenic region, including neuropeptide W (Npw); glyoxalase I (Glo1); cytochrome P450, family 4, subfamily f, polypeptide 1 (Cyp4f15); phospholipase A2, group VII (Pla2g7); and phosphodiesterase 9a (Pde9a). This subcongenic strain offers a unique model for dissecting the contributions and possible interactions among genes controlling food intake and physical activity, key components of energy balance.  相似文献
