Review of the genus Eusterinx Förster, 1869 (Hymenoptera: Ichneumonidae: Orthocentrinae) with descriptions of five new species from South Korea

South Korean species of the genus Eusterinx Förster are reviewed here. Nine species of the genus Eusterinx are found to occur in South Korea, and five species, Eusterinx (E.) elongata sp. nov. , E. (Holomeristus) hirtis sp. nov. , E. (Ischyracis) fulvipes sp. nov. , E. (I.) petiolata sp. nov. and E. (I.) rufithorax sp. nov. , are described. Four more species of Eusterinx from subgenera Divinatrix, Eusterinx and Holomeristus are recorded from South Korea for the first time. Hitherto, unknown male of the Eastern Palaearctic species E. (Divinatrix) kurilensis Humala is described. A key to all known species of the genus Eusterinx occurring in South Korea is provided.     

Three species of Phymatodes Mulsant (Coleoptera: Cerambycidae) new to South Korea that hosted on Vitis vinifera Linnaeus (Vitaceae)

Two unrecorded Phymatodes species, P. (Phymatodellus) jiangi Wang and Zheng, P. (P.) zemlinae Plavilstshikov and Anufrieva, and a known species from North Korea, P. (P.) murzini Danilevsky, are newly recognized in South Korea, as insect pests of Vitis vinifera Linnaeus (Vitaceae). In the present paper, male genitalia of P. (P.) jiangi Wang and Zheng is presented for the first time. We also provide the diagnoses and illustrations of habitus of three Phymatodes species with a revised key to Korean species.     

Taxonomic review of the genus Copelatus Erichson (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae) in Korea

A taxonomic review of the genus Copelatus Erichson (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae) in Korea is presented. In the present study, five species of Copelatus are recognized from Korea, including one unrecorded species, C. kammuriensis. We provide a key to the Korean species of Copelatus, diagnosis of one unrecorded species, habitus photographs, scanning electron micrographs of the elytron, and illustrations of the aedeagus.     

Taxonomic revision of the tribe Zoraidini (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha: Derbidae) from Korea

The Korean planthopper tribe Zoraidini is revised taxonomically. Five genera are recognized in the Korean fauna: Diostrombus Uhler, 1896, Losbanosia Muir, 1917, Pamendanga Distant, 1906, Shirakiana Metcalf, 1945, Zoraida Kirkaldy, 1900. Among them, the genus Shirakiana is recorded for the first time in Korea. Nine species, four of which are recognized new to Korea: S. infumata (Matsumura), Z. koannania Matsumura, Z. hubeiensis Chou et Huang, and Z. kuwayamae (Matsumura). Previous record of one species, Z. pterophoroides (Westwood, 1851), is removed from the list of Korean fauna because it was erroneously reported, based on a misidentification. All species are described and illustrated, and identification keys to genera and species are provided.     

Weight–length relationships of some fish species of the Iberian Peninsula

This study reports weight–length relationships (WLR) for Salmo trutta (Linnaeus, 1758), Phoxinus phoxinus (Linnaeus, 1758), Chondrostoma Chondrostoma miegii (Steindachner, 1866), Barbus graellsii (Steindachner, 1866), Barbatula barbatula (Linnaeus, 1758) and Gobio gobio (Linnaeus, 1758). Specimens were collected by electrofishing during summer between 1996 and 1998. The b values in the WLR W = aL^b varied between 2.97 and 3.42. To the best knowledge of the authors, this study presents the first reference on WLRs for four of the species in Spanish waters.     

Two new species of the Empis (Leptempis) rustica group of the Mediterranean basin (Diptera: Empididae: Empidinae)

Two new species of the Empis (Leptempis) rustica group are described: E. (L.) tenuis n. sp. and E. (L.) lauriauti n. sp. Both were mainly collected in mountainous areas of the Mediterranean basin; the first species was collected in Morocco and Southern Spain; the latter was found in late summer in the Southern Alps in France. The key to species of the Empis (L.) rustica group is updated to include these two new species as well as a recently described Caucasian species.     

Taxonomic revision of family Tropiduchidae (Hemiptera: Fulgoromorpha) from Korea

The family Tropiduchidae is revised taxonomically comprising five genera and five species from Korea. Catullia vittata Matsumura is redescribed here on the basis of a series of males recently collected in Korea. Cixiopsis punctatus Matsumura and Catullia vittata Matsumura were transferred from Achilidae to Tropiduchidae and are redescribed here with male genitalia for the first time from Korea. Ommatissus binatatus Fieber previously reported was an incorrect identification of Ommatissus lofouensis Muir. Another species, Trypetimorpha koreana Kwon and Lee, is the macropterous form of Trypetimorpha japonica Ishihara. All Korean species of the Tropiduchidae are redescribed and illustrated, and an identification key to the genera of Tropiduchidae is provided.     

Taxonomy of the genus Scathophaga Meigen (Diptera: Scathophagidae) in Korea

Three species of the genus Scathophaga–S. mellipes (Coquillet), S. scybalaria (Linnaeus) and S. stercoraria (Linnaeus) – are treated in this study. Of these, S. scybalaria (Linnaeus) is reported for the first time from Korea. A key to the Korean species, their domestic localities and some illustrations are given.     

Taxonomic revision of the subfamily Kermesiinae (Hemiptera: Meenoplidae) from Korea

The planthopper subfamily Kermesiinae is revised taxonomically from Korea. Two genera and three species have been recorded in the Korean fauna, among which one species is new to science: Nisia nervosa (Motschulsky 1863), Eponisiella guttulinervis (Matsumura 1914), and Eponisiella andonga sp. nov. These three species are described and illustrated. Key to genus and species are provided.
