Using 77 K chlorophyll a (Chl a) fluorescence spectra in vivo, the development was studied of Photosystems II (PS II) and I (PS I) during greening of barley under intermittent light followed by continuous light at low (LI, 50 μmol m−2 s−1) and high (HI, 1000 μmol m−2 s−1) irradiances. The greening at HI intermittent light was accompanied with significantly reduced fluorescence intensity from Chl b excitation for both PS II (F685) and PS I (F743), in comparison with LI plants, indicating that assembly of light-harvesting complexes (LHC) of both photosystems was affected to a similar degree. During greening at continuous HI, a slower increase of emission from Chl b excitation in PS II as compared with PS I was observed, indicating a preferred reduction in the accumulation of LHC II. The following characteristics of 77 K Chl a fluorescence spectra documented the photoprotective function of an elevated content of carotenoids in HI leaves: (1) a pronounced suppression of Soret region of excitation spectra (410–450 nm) in comparison with the red region (670–690 nm) during the early stage of greening indicated a strongly reduced excitation energy transfer from carotenoids to the Chl a fluorescing forms within PS I and PS II; (2) changes in the shape of the excitation band of Chl b and carotenoids (460–490 nm) during greening under continuous light confirmed that the energy transfer from carotenoids to Chl a within PS II remained lower as compared with the LI plants. The adaptation of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Akcent) plants to low (LI, 50 µmol m–2 s–1) and high (HI, 1000 µmol m–2 s–1) growth irradiances was studied using the simultaneous measurements of the photosynthetic oxygen evolution and chlorophyll a (Chl a) fluorescence at room temperature. If measured under ambient CO2 concentration, neither increase of the oxygen evolution rate (P) nor enhancement of non-radiative dissipation of the absorbed excitation energy within photosystem 2 (PS2) (determined as non-photochemical quenching of Chl a fluorescence, NPQ) were observed for HI plants compared with LI plants. Nevertheless, the HI plants exhibited a significantly higher proportion of QA in oxidised state (estimated from photochemical quenching of Chl a fluorescence, qP), by 49–102 % at irradiances above 200 µmol m–2 s–1 and an about 1.5 fold increase of irradiance-saturated PS2 electron transport rate (ETR) as compared to LI plants. At high CO2 concentration the degree of P stimulation was approximately three times higher for HI than for LI plants, and the irradiance-saturated P values at irradiances of 2 440 and 2 900 µmol m–2 s–1 were by 130 and 150 % higher for HI plants than for LI plants. We suggest that non-assimilatory electron transport dominates in the adaptation of the photosynthetic apparatus of barley grown at high irradiances under ambient CO2 rather than an increased NPQ or an enhancement of irradiance-saturated photosynthesis.  相似文献

Photosynthetic parameters, growth, and pigment contents were determined during expansion of the fourth leaf of in vitro photoautotrophically cultured Nicotiana tabacum L. plants at three irradiances [photosynthetically active radiation (400–700 nm): low, LI 60 μmol m−2 s−1; middle, MI 180 μmol m−2 s−1; and high, HI 270 μmol m−2 s−1]. During leaf expansion, several symptoms usually accompanying leaf senescence appeared very early in HI and then in MI plants. Symptoms of senescence in developing leaves were: decreasing chlorophyll (Chl) a+b content and Chl a/b ratio, decreasing both maximum (FV/FM) and actual (ΦPS2) photochemical efficiency of photosystem 2, and increasing non-photochemical quenching. Nevertheless, net photosynthetic oxygen evolution rate (P N) did not decrease consistently with decrease in Chl content, but exhibited a typical ontogenetic course with gradual increase. P N reached its maximum before full leaf expansion and then tended to decline. Thus excess irradiance during in vitro cultivation did not cause early start of leaf senescence, but impaired photosynthetic performance and Chl content in leaves and changed their typical ontogenetic course.  相似文献

Two rice chlorophyll (Chl) b-less mutants (VG28-1, VG30-5) and the respective wild type (WT) plant (cv. Zhonghua No. 11) were analyzed for the changes in Chl fluorescence parameters, xanthophyll cycle pool, and its de-epoxidation state under exposure to strong irradiance, SI (1 700 μmol m−2 s−1). We also examined alterations in the chloroplast ultrastructure of the mutants induced by methyl viologen (MV) photooxidation. During HI (0–3.5 h), the photoinactivation of photosystem 2 (PS2) appeared earlier and more severely in Chl b-less mutants than in the WT. The decreases in maximal photochemical efficiency of PS2 in the dark (Fv/Fm), quantum efficiency of PS2 electron transport (ΦPS2), photochemical quenching (qP), as well as rate of photochemistry (Prate), and the increases in de-epoxidation state (DES) and rate of thermal dissipation of excitation energy (Drate) were significantly greater in Chl b-mutants compared with the WT plant. A relatively larger xanthophyll pool and 78–83 % conversion of violaxanthin into antheraxanthin and zeaxanthin in the mutants after 3.5 h of HI was accompanied with a high ratio of inactive/total PS2 (0.55–0.73) and high 1–qP (0.57–0.68) which showed that the activities of the xanthophyll cycle were probably insufficient to protect the photosynthetic apparatus against photoinhibition. No apparent difference of chloroplast ultrastructure was found between Chl b-less mutants and WT plants grown under low, LI (180 μmol m−2 s−1) and high, HI (700 μmol m−2 s−1) irradiance. However, swollen chloroplasts and slight dilation of thylakoids occurred in both mutants and the WT grown under LI followed by MV treatment. These typical symptoms of photooxidative damage were aggravated as plants were exposed to HI. Distorted and loose scattered thylakoids were observed in particular in the Chl b-less mutants. A greater extent of photoinhibition and photooxidation in these mutants indicated that the susceptibility to HI and oxidative stresses was enhanced in the photosynthetic apparatus without Chl b most likely as a consequence of a smaller antenna size.  相似文献

The effects of different spectral region of excitation and detection of chlorophyll (Chl) a fluorescence at room temperature on the estimation of excitation energy utilization within photosystem (PS) 2 were studied in wild-type barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Bonus) and its Chl b-less mutant chlorina f2 grown under low and high irradiances [100 and 1 000 μmol(photon) m−2 s−1]. Three measuring spectral regimes were applied using a PAM 101 fluorometer: (1) excitation in the red region (maximum at the wavelength of 649 nm) and detection in the far-red region beyond 710 nm, (2) excitation in the blue region (maximum at the wavelength of 461 nm) and detection beyond 710 nm, and (3) excitation in the blue region and detection in the red region (660– 710 nm). Non-photochemical quenching of maximal (NPQ) and minimal fluorescence (SV0), determined by detecting Chl a fluorescence beyond 710 nm, were significantly higher for blue excitation as compared to red excitation. We suggest that this results from higher non-radiative dissipation of absorbed excitation energy within light-harvesting complexes of PS2 (LHC2) due to preferential excitation of LHC2 by blue radiation and from the lower contribution of PS1 emission to the detected fluorescence in the case of blue excitation. Detection of Chl a fluorescence originating preferentially from PS2 (i.e. in the range of 660–710 nm) led to pronounced increase of NPQ, SV0, and the PS2 photochemical efficiencies (FV/FM and FV′/FM′), indicating considerable underestimation of these parameters using the standard set-up of PAM 101. Hence PS1 contribution to the minimal fluorescence level in the irradiance-adapted state may reach up to about 80 %.  相似文献

Six months old in vitro-grown Anoectochilus formosanus plantlets were transferred to ex-vitro acclimation under low irradiance, LI [60 μmol(photon) m−2 s−1], intermediate irradiance, II [180 μmol(photon) m−2 s−1], and high irradiance, HI [300 μmol(photon) m−2 s−1] for 30 d. Imposition of II led to a significant increase of chlorophyll (Chl) b content, rates of net photosynthesis (P N) and transpiration (E), stomatal conductance (g s), electron transfer rate (ETR), quantum yield of electron transport from water through photosystem 2 (ΦPS2), and activity of ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/ oxygenase (RuBPCO, EC 4.1.1.39). This indicates that Anoectochilus was better acclimated at II compared to LI treatment. On the other hand, HI acclimation led to a significant reduction of Chl a and b, P N, E, g s, photochemical quenching, dark-adapted quantum efficiency of open PS2 centres (Fv/Fm), probability of an absorbed photon reaching an open PS2 reaction centre (Fv′/Fm′), ETR, ΦPS2, and energy efficiency of CO2 fixation (ΦCO2PS2). This indicates that HI treatment considerably exceeded the photo-protective capacity and Anoectochilus suffered HI induced damage to the photosynthetic apparatus. Imposition of HI significantly increased the contents of antheraxanthin and zeaxanthin (ZEA), non-photochemical quenching, and conversion of violaxanthin to ZEA. Thus Anoectochilus modifies its system to dissipate excess excitation energy and to protect the photosynthetic machinery.  相似文献

Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) plants were cultured in vitro photoautotrophically at three levels of irradiance (PAR 400–700 nm): low (LI, 60 μmol m−2 s−1), middle (MI, 180 μmol m−2 s−1) and high (HI, 270 μmol m−2 s−1). Anatomy of the fourth leaf from bottom was followed during leaf development. In HI and MI plants, leaf area expansion started earlier as compared to LI plants, and both HI and MI plants developed some adaptations of sun species: leaves were thicker with higher proportion of palisade parenchyma to spongy parenchyma tissue. Furthermore, in HI and MI plants palisade and spongy parenchyma cells were larger and relative abundance of chloroplasts in parenchyma cells measured as chloroplasts cross-sectional area in the cell was lower than in LI plants. During leaf growth, chloroplasts crosssectional area in both palisade and spongy parenchyma cells in all treatments considerably decreased and finally it occupied only about 5 to 8 % of the cell cross-sectional area. Thus, leaf anatomy of photoautotrophically in vitro cultured plants showed a similar response to growth irradiance as in vivo grown plants, however, the formation of chloroplasts and therefore of photosynthetic apparatus was strongly impaired.  相似文献

The ability of spring barley (Hordeum vulgare cv. Akcent) to adjust the composition and function of the photosynthetic apparatus to growth irradiances of 25–1200 μmol m−2 s−1 was studied by gas exchange and chlorophyll a fluorescence measurements and high-performance liquid chromatography. The increased growth irradiance stimulated light- and CO2-saturated rates of CO2 assimilation expressed on a leaf area basis up to 730 μmol m−2 s−1 (HL730), whereas at an irradiance of 1200 μmol m−2 s−1 (EHL1200) both rates decreased significantly. Further, the acclimation to EHL1200 was associated with an extremely high chlorophyll a/b ratio (3.97), a more than doubled xanthophyll cycle pool (VAZ) and a six-fold higher de-epoxidation state of the xanthophyll cycle pigments as compared to barley grown under 25 μmol m−2 s−1 (LL25). EHL1200 plants also exhibited a long-term inhibition of Photosystem II (PS II) photochemical efficiency (F v/F m). Photosynthetic capacity, chlorophyll a/b and VAZ revealed a linear trend of dependence on PS II excitation pressure in a certain range of growth irradiances (100–730 μmol m−2 s−1). The deviation from linearity of these relationships for EHL1200 barley is discussed. In addition, the role of increased VAZ and/or accumulation of zeaxanthin and antheraxanthin in acclimation of barley to high irradiance is studied with respect to regulation of non-radiative dissipation and/or photochemical efficiency within PS II. The effect of short-term exposure to elevated CO2 concentration and high irradiance on the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD), ascorbate peroxidase (APX), guaiacol peroxidases (GPX) and catalase (CAT), and on the extent of the lipid peroxidation was studied in bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) plants. Plants were exposed for 4 d (8 h a day) to irradiance of 100 (LI) or 1000 (HI) μmol m−2 s−1 at ambient (CA, 350 μmol mol−1) or elevated (CE, 1300 μmol mol−1) CO2 concentration. Four-day exposure to CE increased the leaf dry mass in HI plants and RuBPC activity and chlorophyll content in LI plants. Total soluble protein content, leaf dry matter and RuBPC activity were higher in HI than in LI plants, although the HI and CE increased the contents of malonyldialdehyde and H2O2. Under CA, exposure to HI increased the activity of APX and decreased the total SOD activity. Under CE, HI treatment also activated APX and led to reduction of both, SOD and GPX, enzymes activities. CE considerably reduced the CAT activity at both irradiances, possibly due to suppressed rate of photorespiration under CE conditions.  相似文献

Citrus volkameriana (L.) plants were grown for 43 d in nutrient solutions containing 0, 2, 14, 98, or 686 μM Mn (Mn0, Mn2, Mn14, Mn98, and Mn686, respectively). To adequately investigate the combined effects of Mn nutrition and irradiance on photosystem 2 (PS2) activity, irradiance response curves for electron transport rate (ETR), nonphotochemical quenching (qN), photochemical quenching (qP), and real photochemical efficiency of PS2 (ΦPS2) were recorded under 10 different irradiances (66, 96, 136, 226, 336, 536, 811, 1 211, 1 911, and 3 111 μmol m−2 s−1, I66 to I3111, respectively) generated with the PAM-2000 fluorometer. Leaf chlorophyll content was significantly lower under Mn excess (Mn686) compared to Mn0; its highest values were recorded in the treatments Mn2-Mn98. However, ETR and ΦPS2 values were significantly lower under Mn0 compared to the other Mn treatments, when plants were exposed to irradiances ≥96 μmol m−2 s−1. Furthermore, Mn0 plants had significantly higher values of qN and lower values of qP at irradiances ≤226 and ≥336 μmol m−2 s−1, respectively, than those grown under Mn2-Mn686. Irrespective of Mn treatment, the values of ΦPS2 and qN decreased, while those of qP increased progressively by increasing irradiance from I136 to I3111. Finally, Mn2-Mn98 plants were less sensitive to photoinhibition of photosynthesis (≥811 μmol m−2 s−1) than the Mn686 (≥536 μmol m−2 s−1) and Mn0 (≥336 μmol m−2 s−1) ones.  相似文献

Hydrated thalli of the lichen Lobaria pulmonaria were either preconditioned to dim irradiance (DI, 5 μmol m−2 s−1) or medium irradiance (MI, 200 μmol m−2 s−1) for 6 h. After this 6 h period, the thalli were allowed to desiccate under the two respective irradiances. Thereafter, these dry lichens were exposed to high irradiance (HI, 1 000 μmol m−2 s−1) for 60 h. After this HI treatment, the maximal photochemical quantum yield (FV/FM) and the de-epoxidation state of xanthophyll cycle pigments (DEPS) were highest in thalli preconditioned to MI. Hence irradiance in the last hydrated period before sampling is significant for the physiological state of lichens. A standardized irradiance pre-treatment before start of experiments is recommended.  相似文献

Pisum sativum (L.) plants were grown under “white” luminescent lamps, W [45 μ mol(quantum) m−2 s−1] or under the same irradiation supplemented with narrow spectrum red light-emitting diodes (LEDs), RE [λmax = 660 nm, Δλ = 20 nm, 40 μmol(quantum) m−2 s−1]. Significant differences in the chlorophyll (Chl) a fluorescence parameters, degree of State 1–State 2 transition, and the pigment-protein contents were found in plants grown under differing spectral composition. Addition of red LEDs to the “white light” resulted in higher effective quantum yield of photosystem 2 (PS2), i.e. F′v/F′m, linear electron transport (ϕPS2), photochemical quenching (qP), and lower non-photochemical quenching (qN as well as NPQ). The RE plants were characterised by higher degree State 1–State 2 transition, i.e. they were more effective in radiant energy utilisation. Judging from the data of “green” electrophoresis of Chl containing pigment-protein complexes of plants grown under various irradiation qualities, the percentage of Chl in photosystem 2 (PS2) reaction centre complexes in RE plants was higher and there was no difference in the total Chl bound with Chl-proteins of light-harvesting complexes (LHC2). Because the ratio between oligomeric and monomeric LHC2 forms was higher in RE plants, we suggest higher LHC2 stability in these ones.  相似文献

The response of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. cv. Akcent) to various photosynthetic photon flux densities (PPFDs) and elevated [CO2] [700 μmol (CO2) mol−1; EC] was studied by gas exchange, chlorophyll (Chl) a fluorescence, and pigment analysis. In comparison with barley grown under ambient [CO2] [350 μmol (CO2) mol−1; AC] the EC acclimation resulted in a decrease in photosynthetic capacity, reduced stomatal conductance, and decreased total Chl content. The extent of acclimation depression of photosynthesis, the most pronounced for the plants grown at 730 μmol m−2 s−1 (PPFD730), may be related to the degree of sink-limitation. The increased non-radiative dissipation of absorbed photon energy for all EC plants corresponded to the higher de-epoxidation state of xanthophylls only for PPFD730 barley. Further, a pronounced decrease in photosystem 2 (PS2) photochemical efficiency (given as FV/FM) for EC plants grown at 730 and 1 200 μmol m−2 s−1 in comparison with AC barley was related to the reduced epoxidation of antheraxanthin and zeaxanthin back to violaxanthin in darkness. Thus the EC conditions sensitise the photosynthetic apparatus of high-irradiance acclimated barley plants (particularly PPFD730) to the photoinactivation of PS2. Photosynthetic rates of green leaves (GL) and green flower petals (GFP) of the CAM plant Dendrobium cv. Burana Jade and their sensitivities to different growth irradiances were studied in shade-grown plants over a period of 4 weeks. Maximal photosynthetic O2 evolution rates and CAM acidities [dawn/dusk fluctuations in titratable acidity] were higher in leaves exposed to intermediate sunlight [a maximal photosynthetic photon flux density (PPFD) of 500–600 μmol m−2 s−1] than in leaves grown under full sunlight (a maximal PPFD of 1 000–1 200 μmol m−2 s−1) and shade (a maximal PPFD of 200–250 μmol m−2 s−1). However, these two parameters of GFP were highest in plants grown under the shade and lowest in full sun-grown plants. Both GL and GFP of plants exposed to full sunlight had lower predawn Fv/Fm [dark adapted ratio of variable to maximal fluorescence (the maximal photosystem 2 yield without actinic irradiation)] than those of shade-grown plants. When exposed to intermediate sunlight, however, there were no significant changes in predawn Fv/Fm in GL whereas a significant decrease in predawn Fv/Fm was found in GFP of the same plant. GFP exposed to full sunlight exhibited a greater decrease in predawn Fv/Fm compared to those exposed to intermediate sunlight. The patterns of changes in total chlorophyll (Chl) content of GL and GFP were similar to those of Fv/Fm. Although midday Fv/Fm fluctuated with prevailing irradiance, changes of midday Fv/Fm after exposure to different growth irradiances were similar to those of predawn Fv/Fm in both GL and GFP. The decreases in predawn and midday Fv/Fm were much more pronounced in GFP than in GL under full sunlight, indicating greater sensitivity in GFP to high irradiance (HI). In the laboratory, electron transport rate and photochemical and non-photochemical quenching of Chl fluorescence were also determined under different irradiances. All results indicated that GFP are more susceptible to HI than GL. Although the GFP of Dendrobium cv. Burana Jade require a lower amount of radiant energy for photosynthesis and this plant is usually grown in the shade, is not necessarily a shade plant.  相似文献

Ginger (Zingiber officinale Rosc.) plantlets were propagated in vitro and acclimated under different photosynthetic photon flux densities (60 and 250 μmol m−2 s−1 = LI and HI, respectively). Increases in chlorophyll (Chl) content and Chl a/b ratio were found under both irradiances. In vitro plantlets (day 0) exhibited a low photosynthesis, but chloroplasts from in vitro leaves contained well developed grana and osmiophillic globules. Photoinhibition in leaves formed in vitro was characterized by decrease of photochemical efficiency and quantum efficiency of photosystem 2 photochemistry in HI treatment during acclimation. The new leaves formed during acclimation in both treatments showed a higher photosynthetic capacity than the leaves formed in vitro. Also activities of antioxidant enzymes of micropropagated ginger plantlets changed during acclimation.  相似文献

Photosynthetic acclimation to reduced growth irradiances (650 and 200 µmol m–2 s–1) in Eleusine coracana (L.) Garten, a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide-malic enzyme (NAD-ME) C4 species and Gomphrena globosa L., a nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate-malic enzyme (NADP-ME) C4 species were investigated. E. coracana plants acclimated in 4 and 8 d to 650 and 200 µmol m–2 s–1, respectively, whereas G. globosa plants took 8 and 10 d, respectively, to acclimate to the same irradiances. The acclimation to reduced irradiance was achieved in both species by greater partitioning of chlorophyll towards the light-harvesting antennae at the expense of functional components. However, magnitude of increase in the light-harvesting antenna was higher in E. coracana as compared to G. globosa. Superior photosynthetic acclimation to reduced irradiance in G. globosa was due to the smaller change in functions of the cytochrome b 6/f complex, photosystem (PS) 1 and PS2 leading to the higher carbon fixation rates compared to E. coracana.  相似文献

Summary Caustis blakei is an attractive cut foliage plant harvested from the wild in Australia and marketed under the name of koala fern. Previous attempts to propagate large numbers of this plant have been unsuccessful. The effect of four light irradiances on organogenesis from compact and friable callus of C. blakei was studied for 21 wk. Both callus types produced numerous primordial shoots but many failed to develop into green plantlets. However, significantly more primordial shoots and green plantlets developed on the friable callus than on the compact callus, and significantly more green plantlets were regenerated under the higher photon irradiances of 200 and 300 μmol m−2s−1 than under the lower irradiances of 100 and 150 μmol m−2s−1. The compact callus produced its maximum number of green plantlets early in the experiment (after 9 wk), while the friable callus continued to produce primordial shoots and green plantelets throughout the period of the experiment, and reached its maximum production of green plantlets at 21 wk under the irradiance of 300 μmol m−2s−1. Organogenesis from friable callus under high irradiance (300 μmol m−2s−1) offers an efficient propagation method for C. blakei.  相似文献

The branching zooxanthellate soft coral Sinularia flexibillis releases antimicrobial and toxic compounds with potential pharmaceutical importance. As photosynthesis by the symbiotic algae is vital to the host, the light-dependency of the coral, including its specific growth rate (μ day−1) and the physiological response to a range of light intensities (10–1,000 μmol quanta m−2 s−1) was studied for 12 weeks. Although a range of irradiances from 100 to 400 μmol quanta m−2 s−1 was favorable for S. flexibilis, based on chlorophyll content, a light intensity around 100 μmol quanta m−2 s−1 was found to be optimal. The contents of both zooxanthellae and chlorophyll a were highest at 100 μmol quanta m−2 s−1. The specific budding rate showed almost the same pattern as the specific growth rate. The concentration of the terpene flexibilide, produced by this species, increased at high light intensities (200–600 μmol quanta m−2 s−1).  相似文献

Light-stress-related changes in the properties of photosystem I   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Light-stress-related changes in photosystem I (PS I) were analyzed in photoautotrophic cultured cells of Marchantia polymorpha L. High light treatment (30␣h; 1300 μmol photons · m−2 · s−1) reduced the PS I-mediated electron-transport rate by more than 50% and the photochemical efficiency of photosystem II (PS II) by about 35%. In photoinhibited cells, 76% of the PS II centers remained closed in low light, which is in agreement with a preferential impairment of PS I. Our data indicate that excessive linear electron transport is a cause of the loss in PS I activity. Two PS I forms could be isolated by sucrose-gradient ultracentrifugation of mildly solubilized thylakoid membranes. After high-light treatment one of these forms, which showed a larger light-harvesting complex (LHC) I antenna and a specific association of LHC IIb, was enriched. The effect could be suppressed by blockage of linear electron transport. It is suggested that PS I inactivation and state transitions caused the change in PS I organisation. The effect of high irradiance (HI) during desiccation and subsequent rehydration of the homoiochlorophyllous desiccation-tolerant shade plant Haberlea rhodopensis was investigated. Plants were irradiated with a high quantum fluence rate (HI; 350 μmol m−2 s−1 compared to ca. 30 μmol m−2 s−1 at the natural rock habitat below trees) and subjected either to fast desiccation (tufts dehydrated with naturally occurring thin soil layers) or slow desiccation (tufts planted in pots in peat-soil dehydrated by withholding irrigation). Leaf water content was 5 % of the control after 4 d of fast and 19 d of slow desiccation. Haberlea was very sensitive to HI under all conditions. After 19 d at HI, even in well-watered plants there was a strong reduction of rates of net photosynthesis and transpiration, contents of chlorophyll (Chl) and carotenoids, as well as photosystem 2 activity (detected by the Chl fluorescence ratio RFd). Simultaneously, the blue/red and green/red fluorescence ratios increased considerably suggesting increased synthesis of polyphenolic compounds. Desiccation of plants in HI induced irreversible changes in the photosynthetic apparatus and leaves did not recover after rehydration regardless of fast or slow desiccation. Only young leaves survived desiccation.  相似文献
