Oxidation of reduced sulphur compounds by Thiobacillus acidophilus was studied with cell suspensions from heterotrophic and mixotrophic chemostat cultures. Maximum substrate-dependent oxygen uptake rates and affinities observed with cell suspensions from mixotrophic cultures were higher than with heterotrophically grown cells. ph Optima for oxidation of sulphur compounds fell within the pH range for growth (pH 2–5), except for sulphite oxidation (optimum at pH 5.5). During oxidation of sulphide by cell suspensions, intermediary sulphur was formed. Tetrathionate was formed as an intermediate during aerobic incubation with thiosulphate and trithionate. Whether or not sulphite is an inter-mediate during sulphur compound oxidation by T. acidophilus remains unclear. Experiments with anaerobic cell suspensions of T. acidophilus revealed that trithionate metabolism was initiated by a hydrolytic cleavage yielding thiosulphate and sulphate. A hydrolytic cleavage was also implicated in the metabolism of tetrathionate. After anaerobic incubation of T. acidophilus with tetrathionate, the substrate was completely converted to equimolar amounts of thiosulphate, sulphur and sulphate. Sulphide- and sulphite oxidation were partly inhibited by the protonophore uncouplers 2,4-dinitrophenol (DNP) and carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone (CCCP) and by the sulfhydryl-binding agent N-ethylmaleimide (NEM). Oxidation of elemental sulphur was completely inhibited by these compounds. Oxidation of thiosulphate, tetrathionate and trithionate was only slightly affected. The possible localization of the different enzyme systems involved in sulphur compound oxidation by T. acidophilus is discussed.  相似文献

The effects of temperature, initial pH, and the concentrations of ammonium, phosphate, and heavy metals on the oxidation of thiosalts by an authentic strain of Thiobacillus thiooxidans (ATCC 8085) and by a mixed culture isolated from a base metal-processing mill effluent pond were studied. The optimum temperature was 30°C and the optimum initial pH was 3.75 for both cultures using thiosulfate and for the mixed culture using tetrathionate. T. thiooxidans ATCC 8085 did not oxidize tetrathionate. For a thiosalt concentration of 2,000 ppm (2,000 mg/liter), maximal rates of destruction occurred at concentrations of ammonium ion above 2 mg/liter and in the presence of 1 mg of phosphate per liter. Under optimal conditions, the rate of thiosulfate oxidation by the pure culture was 55 ± 3 mg/liter per h; the mixed culture oxidized thiosulfate at the rate of 40 ± 1 mg/liter per h and tetrathionate at the rate of 50 ± 2 mg/liter per h. Metal ions caused normal inhibition kinetics in the oxidation of thiosulfate by T. thiooxidans ATCC 8085. Ki values were calculated for cadmium (16 mg/liter), copper (0.46 mg/liter), lead (2 mg/liter), silver (3.1 mg/liter), and zinc (33 mg/liter). Only a slight additive effect was apparent in the presence of all of these metal ions. The mixed culture of thiosalt-oxidizing bacteria was less sensitive to heavy metal inhibition; the order of inhibition of thiosulfate oxidation was Cd < Zn < Pb < Ag < Cu, and that of tetrathionate oxidation was Zn < Cd < Pb < Ag < Cu.  相似文献

The evidence for the reductive cleavage of trithionate to thiosulfate and sulfite in the presence of some reduced agents is presented with washed cells of T. thiooxidans.

The optimal pH upon the reaction was about 7.0.

α-Glycerophosphate was effective as an electron donor for the reduction, and it was suggested that reduced glutathione might be required as a co-factor for the reduction.  相似文献

A new pathway of dimethylsulfide (DMS) metabolism was identified in a novel species of Gammaproteobacteria, Methylophaga thiooxidans sp. nov., in which tetrathionate (S4O62?) was the end‐product of DMS oxidation. Inhibitor evidence indicated that DMS degradation was initiated by demethylation, catalysed by a corrinoid demethylase. Thiosulfate was an intermediate, which was oxidized to tetrathionate by a cytochrome‐linked thiosulfate dehydrogenase. Thiosulfate oxidation was coupled to ATP synthesis, and M. thiooxidans could also use exogenous thiosulfate as an energy source during chemolithoheterotrophic growth on DMS or methanol. Cultures grown on a variety of substrates oxidized thiosulfate, indicating that thiosulfate oxidation was constitutive. The observations have relevance to interactions among sulfur‐metabolizing bacteria in the marine environment. The production of tetrathionate from an organosulfur precursor is previously undocumented and represents a potential step in the biogeochemical sulfur cycle, providing a ‘shunt’ across the cycle.  相似文献

The SoxXAYZB(CD)2‐mediated pathway of bacterial sulfur‐chemolithotrophy explains the oxidation of thiosulfate, sulfide, sulfur and sulfite but not tetrathionate. Advenella kashmirensis, which oxidizes tetrathionate to sulfate, besides forming it as an intermediate during thiosulfate oxidation, possesses a soxCDYZAXOB operon. Knock‐out mutations proved that only SoxBCD is involved in A. kashmirensis tetrathionate oxidation, whereas thiosulfate‐to‐tetrathionate conversion is Sox independent. Expression of two glutathione metabolism‐related proteins increased under chemolithotrophic conditions, as compared to the chemoorganotrophic one. Substrate‐dependent oxygen consumption pattern of whole cells, and sulfur‐oxidizing enzyme activities of cell‐free extracts, measured in the presence/absence of thiol inhibitors/glutathione, corroborated glutathione involvement in tetrathionate oxidation. Furthermore, proteome analyses detected a sulfite:acceptor oxidoreductase (SorAB) exclusively under chemolithotrophic conditions, while expression of a methanol dehydrogenase (XoxF) homolog, subsequently named thiol dehydrotransferase (ThdT), was found to increase 3‐ and 10‐fold during thiosulfate‐to‐tetrathionate conversion and tetrathionate oxidation respectively. A thdT knock‐out mutant did not oxidize tetrathionate but converted half of the supplied 40 mM S‐thiosulfate to tetrathionate. Knock‐out of another thiosulfate dehydrogenase (tsdA) gene proved that both ThdT and TsdA individually converted ~ 20 mM S‐thiosulfate to tetrathionate. The overexpressed and isolated ThdT protein exhibited PQQ‐dependent thiosulfate dehydrogenation, whereas its PQQ‐independent thiol transfer activity involving tetrathionate and glutathione potentially produced a glutathione:sulfodisulfane adduct and sulfite. SoxBCD and SorAB were hypothesized to oxidize the aforesaid adduct and sulfite respectively.  相似文献

By immersing a few small cellophane bags containing BaCO3 powderin STARKEY's medium, the duration of lag phase in the growthof Thiobacillus thiooxidans is minimized and the yield of cellsis increased ten times that of the previous method. The activitiesof oxidation for sulfur and sulfite change with growth. Sulfiteis oxidized at a comparable rate to that of sulfur oxidationat pH values between 6.0 and 6.5. In the presence of cysteineor glutathione, thiosulfate can be oxidized at a pH above 5.0.At pH values below 4.5, apparent oxidation of thiosulfate andtetrathionate to sulfate is observed. This result is accountedfor by the facts that thiosulfate is decomposed to sulfur andsulfite under the acidic condition at pH values below 4.5, andthat tetrathionate is reduced to thiosulfate enzymatically.In the oxidation of tetrathionate, oxygen uptake begins aftera lag phase, the duration of which depends on the concentrationsof cells and of tetrathionate. All of fourteen sulfate-reducing bacteria tested were able to carry out aerobic respiration with at least one of the following electron donors: H2, lactate, pyruvate, formate, acetate, butyrate, ethanol, sulfide, thiosulfate, sulfite. Generally, we did not obtain growth with O2 as electron acceptor. The bacteria were microaerophilic, since the respiration rates increased with decreasing O2 concentrations or ceased after repeated O2 additions. The amounts of O2 consumed indicated that the organic substrates were oxidized incompletely to acetate; only Desulfobacter postgatei oxidized acetate with O2 completely to CO2. Many of the strains oxidized sulfite (completely to sulfate) or sulfide (incompletely, except Desulfobulbus propionicus); thiosulfate was oxidized only by strains of Desulfovibrio desulfuricans; trithionate and tetrathionate were not oxidized by any of the strains. With Desulfovibrio desulfuricans CSN and Desulfobulbus propionicus the oxidation of inorganic sulfur compounds was characterized in detail. D. desulfuricans formed sulfate during oxidation of sulfite, thiosulfate or elemental sulfur prepared from polysulfide. D. propionicus oxidized sulfite and sulfide to sulfate, and elemental sulfur mainly to thiosulfate. A novel pathway that couples the sulfur and nitrogen cycles was detected: D. desulfuricans and (only with nitrite) D. propionicus were able to completely oxidize sulfide coupled to the reduction of nitrate or nitrite to ammonia. Cell-free extracts of both strains did not oxidize sulfide or thiosulfate, but formed ATP during oxidation of sulfite (37 nmol per 100 nmol sulfite). This, and the effects of AMP, pyrophosphate and molybdate on sulfite oxidation, suggested that sulfate is formed via the (reversed) sulfate activation pathway (involving APS reductase and ATP sulfurylase). The formation of thionates (thiosulfate, trithionate and tetrahionate) during the reduction of sulfate or sulfite was studied with four marine and four freshwater strains of sulfate-reducing bacteria. Growing cultures of two strains of the freshwater species Desulfovibrio desulfuricans formed up to 400 M thiosulfate and 100 M trithionate under conditions of electron donor limitation. Tetrathionate was observed in lower concentrations of up to 30 M. Uncoupler-treated washed cells of the four freshwater strains formed thiosulfate and trithionate at low electron donor concentrations with sulfite in excess. In contrast, only one of four marine strains formed thionates. The freshwater strain Desulfobulbus propionicus transformed sulfite almost completely to thiosulfate and trithionate. The amounts produced increased with time, concentration of added sulfite and cell density. Tetrathionate was detected only occasionally and in low concentrations, and was probably formed by chemical oxidation of thiosulfate. The results confirm the diversity of the sulfite reduction pathways in sulfate-reducing bacteria, and suggest that thiosulfate and trithionate are normal by-products of sulfate reduction.Abbreviations CCCP carbonyl cyanide m-chlorophenylhydrazone  相似文献

Summary Aspects of the biochemistry of the oxidation of inorganic sulfur compounds are discussed in thiobacilli but chiefly inThiobacillus denitrificans. Almost all of the thiobacilli (e.g. T. denitrificans, T. neapolitanus, T. novellus, andThiobacillus A 2) were capable of producing approximately 7.5 moles of sulfuric acid aerobically from 3.75 moles of thiosulfate per gram of cellular protein per hr. By far the most prolific producer of sulfuric acid (or sulfates) from the anaerobic thiosulfate oxidation with nitrates wasT. denitrificans which was capable of producing 15 moles of sulfates from 7.5 moles of thiosulfate with concomitant reduction of 12 moles of nitrate resulting in the evolution of 6 moles of nitrogen gas/g protein/hr. The oxidation of sulfide was mediated by the flavo-protein system and cytochromes ofb, c, o, anda-type. This process was sensitive to flavoprotein inhibitors, antimycin A, and cyanide. The aerobic thiosulfate oxidation on the other hand involved cytochromec : O2 oxidoreductase region of the electron transport chain and was sensitive to cyanide only. The anaerobic oxidation of thiosulfate byT. denitrificans, however, was severely inhibited by the flavoprotein inhibitors because of the splitting of the thiosulfate molecule into the sulfide and sulfite moieties produced by the thiosulfate-reductase. Accumulation of tetrathionate and to a small extent trithionate and pentathionate occurred during anaerobic growth ofT. denitrificans. These polythionates were subsequently oxidized to sulfate with the concomitant reduction of nitrate to N2. Intact cell suspensions catalyzed the complete oxidation of sulfide, thiosulfate, tetrathionate, and sulfite to sulfate with the stoichiometric reduction of nitrate, nitrite, nitric oxide, and nitrous oxide to nitrogen gas thus indicating that NO2 , NO, and N2O are the possible intermediates in the denitrification of nitrate. This process was mediated by the cytochrome electron transport chain and was sensitive to the electron transfer inhibitors. The oxidation of sulfite involved cytochrome-linked sulfite oxidase as well as the APS-reductase pathways. The latter was absent inT. novellus andThiobacillus A 2. In all of the thiobacilli the inner as well as the outer sulfur atoms of thiosulfate were oxidized at approximately the same rate by intact cells. The sulfide oxidation occurred in two stages: (a) a cellular-membrane-associated initial and rapid oxidation reaction which was dependent upon sulfide concentration, and (b) a slower oxidation reaction stage catalyzed by the cellfree extracts, probably involving polysulfides. InT. novellus andT. neapolitanus the oxidation of inorganic sulfur compounds is coupled to energy generation through oxidative phosphorylation, however, the reduction of pyridine nucleotides by sulfur compounds involved an energy-linked reversal of electron transfer. Thiosulfate oxidation and mixotrophic growth with succinate or methanol plus thiosulfate was examined in nutrient-limited mixotrophic condition for Methylobacterium oryzae CBMB20, which was recently characterized and reported as a novel species isolated from rice. Methylobacterium oryzae was able to utilize thiosulfate in the presence of sulfate. Thiosulfate oxidation increased the protein yield by 25% in mixotrophic medium containing 18.5 mmol.L-1 of sodium succinate and 20 mmol.L-1 of sodium thiosulfate on day 5. The respirometric study revealed that thiosulfate was the most preferable reduced inorganic sulfur source, followed by sulfur and sulfite. Thiosulfate was predominantly oxidized to sulfate and intermediate products of thiosulfate oxidation, such as tetrathionate, trithionate, polythionate, and sulfur, were not detected in spent medium. It indicated that bacterium use the non-S4 intermediate sulfur oxidation pathway for thiosulfate oxidation. Thiosulfate oxidation enzymes, such as rhodanese and sulfite oxidase activities appeared to be constitutively expressed, but activity increased during growth on thiosulfate. No thiosulfate oxidase (tetrathionate synthase) activity was detected.  相似文献

Thiosulfate was oxidized stoichiometrically to tetrathionate during growth on glucose byKlebsiella aerogenes, Bacillus globigii, B. megaterium, Pseudomonas putida, two strains each ofP. fluorescens andP. aeruginosa, and anAeromonas sp. A gram-negative, rod-shaped soil isolate, Pseudomonad Hw, converted thiosulfate to tetrathionate during growth on acetate. None of the organisms could use thiosulfate as sole energy source. The quantitative recovery of all the thiosulfate supplied to heterotrophic cultures either as tetrathionate alone or as tetrathionate and unused thiosulfate demonstrated that no oxidation to sulfate occurred with any of the strains tested. Two strains ofEscherichia coli did not oxidize thiosulfate. Thiosulfate oxidation in batch culture occurred at different stages of the growth cycle for different organisms:P. putida oxidized thiosulfate during lag and early exponential phase,K. aerogenes oxidized thiosulfate at all stages of growth, andB. megaterium andAeromonas oxidized thiosulfate during late exponential phase. The relative rates of oxidation byP. putida andK. aerogenes were apparently determined by different concentrations of thiosulfate oxidizing enzyme. Thiosulfate oxidation byP. aeruginosa grown in chemostat culture was inducible, since organisms pregrown on thiosulfate-containing media oxidized thiosulfate, but those pregrown on glucose only could not oxidize thiosulfate. Steady state growth yield ofP. aeruginosa in glucose-limited chemostat culture increased about 23% in the presence of 5–22 mM thiosulfate, with complete or partial concomitant oxidation to tetrathionate. The reasons for this stimulation are unclear. The results suggest that heterotrophic oxidation of thiosulfate to tetrathionate is widespread across several genera and may even stimulate bacterial growth in some organisms.  相似文献

Capacity for lithotrophic growth coupled to oxidation of reduced sulfur compounds was revealed in an Azospirillum strain, A. thiophilum BV-S T . Oxygen concentration in the medium was the major factor determining the type of energy metabolism (organotrophic or lithotrophic) in the presence of thiosulfate. Under aerobic conditions, metabolism of A. thiophilum BV-ST was organoheterotrophic, with thiosulfate oxidation to tetrathionate resulting from the interaction with reactive oxygen species, mostly H2O2, which was formed in the electron transport chain in the course of oxidation of organic electron donors. Under microaerobic conditions (2 mg/L O2 in liquid medium), A. thiophilum BV-ST carried out lithoheterotrophic (mixotrophic) metabolism; enzymes of the dissimilatory type of sulfur metabolism were responsible for thiosulfate oxidation to tetrathionate and sulfate. Two enzyme systems were found in the cells: thiosulfate dehydrogenase, which catalyzes incomplete oxidation of thiosulfate to tetrathionate and the thiosulfate-oxidizing Sox enzyme complex, which is involved in complete oxidation of thiosulfate to sulfate. The genetic determinant of a Sox complex component in A. thiophilum BV-ST was revealed. The soxB gene was found, and its expression under microaerobic conditions was observed to increase 32-fold compared to aerobic cultivation.  相似文献

Thiosulfate-oxidizing enzyme has been demonstrated in cell-free extracts of the marine, thiosulfate-oxidizing pseudomonad strain 16B. The enzyme, partially purified by ion-exchange chromatography and calcium phosphate gel treatment, catalyzed the oxidation of thiosulfate to tetrathionate with the concomitant reduction of ferricyanide. Native but not mammalian cytochrome c was also reduced by the enzyme in the presence of thiosulfate. The enzyme was located exclusively in the supernatant of ultracentrifuged cell extracts. The most purified enzyme preparation, like intact cells, exhibited a temperature optimum of 30 to 31°C. However, it exhibited no definite pH optimum. At pH 6.1 to 6.3 and 30°C, the Km for thiosulfate was 1.57 mM. At lower temperatures, the apparent Km for thiosulfate increased, but the apparent maximum velocity remained virtually unchanged. Thiosulfate oxidation in intact cells exhibited an increase in the pH optimum at lower temperatures. The thiosulfate-oxidizing enzyme of marine heterotroph 16B is compared with thiosulfate-oxidizing enzymes from other bacteria, and the effect of temperature on the relationship between pH and thiosulfate oxidation is discussed with reference to the natural habitat of the bacterium.  相似文献

Abstract Cell-free extracts of Thiobacillus acidophilus catalysed the stoichiometric conversion of tetrathionate to thiosulphate, sulphur and two protons. The pH optimum of the enzyme activity was 3.0 and its temperature optimum 40°C. The enzyme was unstable at 30 and 40°C, at which its activity decreased to zero within 100 and 20 h, respectively. Enzyme activity was not affected by incubation for 1 week on ice or by freezing and thawing of the extract. The K m for tetrathionate was 0.3 mM. Enzyme activity was stimulated by ammonium sulphate up to a concentration of 1M. The results indicate that trithionate hydrolase cannot account for the observed conversion of tetrathionate.  相似文献

Ferrous ion oxidation byThiobacillus ferrooxidans was completely inhibited by 10 mM each of thiosulfate, sulfite, metabisulfite, bisulfite, and tetrathionate. The inhibition was enhanced in a low pH medium (pH 1.5 versus pH 2.5). Oxygen uptake measurements with Fe2+ as the electron donor confirmed the toxicity of thiosulfate, but also indicated its dependency on the concentration of Fe2+. Cytochrome spectra of intact cells ofT. ferrooxidans showed that metabisulfite, and thiosulfate to a lesser extent, directly reduced electron transport components, in contrast to no direct reduction of cytochromes by tetrathionate and sulfite.  相似文献

The intermediary production of elemental sulfur during the microbial oxidation of reduced sulfur compounds has frequently been reported. Thiobacillus ferrooxidans, an acidophilic chemolithoautotroph, was found to produce an insoluble sulfur compound, primarily elemental sulfur, during the oxidation of thiosulfate, trithionate, tetrathionate and sulfide. This was confirmed by light and electron microscopy. Sulfur was produced from sulfide by an oxidative step, while the production from tetrathionate was initiated by a hydrolytic step, probably followed by a series of chemical reactions. The oxidation of intermediary sulfur was severely inhibited by sulfhydryl-binding reagents such as N-ethylmaleimide, by the addition of uncouplers or after freezing and thawing of the cells, which probably damaged the cell membrane. The mechanisms behind these inhibitions have not yet been clarified. Finally, it was observed that elemental sulfur oxidation by whole cells depended on the medium composition. A tetrathionate-decomposing enzyme that catalyzes the decomposition of tetrathionate into thiosulfate and sulfate was purified to homogeneity from tetrathionate-grown Thiobacillus thiooxidans. The enzyme had an apparent molecular weight of 104,000, and was composed of two identical subunits (MW = 58,000) as estimated by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The enzyme had an isoelectric point at 9.6 and was most active at pH 3.0–3.5 and 40°C. Enzyme activity was increased approximately 100-fold in the presence of 400 mm sulfate ion. The Michaelis constant of this enzyme for tetrathionate in the presence of 20, 50, and 200 mm of sulfate ion was 2.4 mm. Mercuric and ferric ions completely inhibited the enzyme activity at 1 mm. Though cupric ion up to 0.01 mm markedly stimulated the activity in the presence of 20 mm sulfate ion, a higher concentration (1 mm) rather strongly inhibited the activity. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) strongly inhibited the activity, but this inhibiton was completely restored by cupric ion.  相似文献

Thiobacillus tepidarius, isolated from the hot springs at Bath, Avon, UK, grew optimally at 43–45°C and pH 6.0–7.5 on thiosulphate or tetrathionate. In batch culture, thiosulphate was oxidized stoichiometrically to tetrathionate, with a rise in pH. The tetrathionate was then oxidized to sulphate, supporting growth and producing a fall in pH to a minimum of ph 4.8. The organism contained high levels of thiosulphate-oxidizing enzyme, rhodanese and ribulose bisphosphate carboxylase. It was obligately chemolithotrophic and autotrophic. In chemostat culture, T. tepidarius grew autotrophically with the following sole energy-substrates: sulphide, thiosulphate, trithionate, tetrathionate, hexathionate or heptathionate. Thiocyanate, dithionate and sulphite were not used as sole substrates, although sulphite enhanced growth yields in the presence of thiosulphate. Maximum specific growth rate on tetrathionate was 0.44 h-1. True growth yields (Y max) and maintenance coefficients (m) were calculated for sulphide, thiosulphate, trithionate and tetrathionate and observed yields at a single fixed dilution rate compared with those on hexathionate and heptathionate. Mean values for Y max, determined from measurements of absorbance, dry wt, total organic carbon and cell protein, were similar for sulphide, thiosulphate and trithionate (10.9 g dry wt/mol substrate) as expected from their equivalent oxygen consumption for oxidation. Y max for tetrathionate (20.5) and the relative Y o values (as g dry wt/g atom oxygen consumed) for thiosulphate and all four polythionates indicated that substrate level phosphorylation did not contribute significantly to energy conservation. These Y max values were 40–70% higher than any of those previously reported for obligately aerobic thiobacilli. The growth of Thiobacillus (T.) intermedius strain K12 and Thiobacillus versutus strain DSM 582 on thiosulfate and tetrathionate was studied combining on-line measurements of metabolic activity and sulfur compound analysis. Most results indicate that T. intermedius oxidized thiosulfate via tetrathionate to sulfate. Concomittantly, sulfur compound intermediates like triand pentathionate were detectable. The formation is probably the result of highly reactive sulfane monosulfonic acids. The formation of tetrathionate allows the cells to buffer temporarily the proton excretion from sulfuric acid production. With T. versutus intermediate sulfur compounds were not detectable, however, sulfur was detectable. The possibility of a thiosulfate oxidation via dithionate, S2O inf6 sup2- , is discussed. The on-line measurement of metabolic activity by microcalorimetry enabled us to detect that cells of T. intermedius adhere to surfaces and produce a biofilm by a metabolic process whereas those of T. versutus fail to do so. Cell-free extracts of Thiobacillus acidophilus catalysed the quantitative conversion of trithionate (S3O6(2-) to thiosulphate and sulphate. A continuous assay for quantification of experimental results was based on the difference in absorbance between trithionate and thiosulphate at 220 nm. Trithionate hydrolase was purified to near homogeneity from cell-free extracts of T. acidophilus. The molecular masses of the native enzyme and the subunit were 99 kDa (gel filtration) and 34 kDa (SDS/PAGE). The purified enzyme has a pH optimum of 3.5-4.5 and a temperature optimum of 70 degrees C. Enzyme activity was stimulated by sulphate. The stimulation of the enzyme activity by sulphate was half maximal at a concentration of 0.23 M. The Km for trithionate is 70 microM at 30 degrees C and 270 microM at 70 degrees C. Enzyme activity was lost after 36 days at 0 degrees C, 27 days at 70 degrees C; but after 97 days at 30 degrees C, 40% of the initial activity was still present: The enzyme activity was inhibited by mercury chloride, N-ethylmaleimide, thiosulphate and tetrathionate. Tetrathionate S4O6(2-) was not hydrolysed by trithionate hydrolase.  相似文献
