The results of the study of typical specimens of the trematode G. amoena from blood vessels of the crocodile Crocodylus johnstoni in Australia are provided. The data obtained on the morphology of this parasite did not confirm the statement of Platt et al. (1991) that this species belongs to the family Schistosomatidae. Morphological data on G. amoena enable attributing it to the genus Vasotrema of the family Spirorchidae as a new species. In this connection, the monotypical genus Griphobilharzia (justified by Platt et al., 1991) becomes a synonym of the genus Vasotrema, while the subfamily Griphobilharziinae becomes a synonym of the subfamily Hapalotrematinae.  相似文献

The shell and anatomy of a new genus and species of Lymnaeidae,Kutikina hispida, are described from the Franklin River, S.W.Tasmania and the implications of this discovery, along withthe origins and relationships of the Australasian Lymnaeidae, are discussed. The new species lives attached to submerged limestonerock, has a very expanded shell aperture and, uniquely, theperiostracum bears short hairs. In addition there are apomorphicradular and anatomical characters separating this genus fromother lymnaeids. The new genus is compared with the other nativeAustralian Lymnaeidae. It is suggested that the taxonomy ofthe only other native Tasmanian species of Lymnaeidae, Austropepleatomentosa, a species widely distributed in temperate Australiaand in New Zealand, requires reexamination. Alternative hypothesesrelating to the zoogeography of the southern members of thefamily are discussed in relation to this taxon and the Recentgenus-group taxa of lymnaeids are listed in an Appendix andtheir differences from the new genus noted. Grunts (family Haemulidae) in the genus Anisotremus comprise 10 described species which occur predominantly on coral reefs and subtropical rocky reefs in the Neotropics of the Tropical Eastern Pacific the Caribbean and adjacent waters. In this study, the phylogenetic relationships for all described species were examined based on one mitochondrial gene (cytochrome b) and one nuclear marker (the first intron of the ribosomal protein S7). Closely related species of the genus Haemulon and the single representative of the genus Genyatremus, G. luteus were also included in the analysis, following the suggestion, based on morphological data, that they may be closely related to, or possibly placed within, Anisotremus. Two sweetlips, genus Plectorhinchus, which belong to the recognized sister subfamily Plectorhynchinae, were used as outgroups. Two species pairs in the ingroup genus Anisotremus are geminate species, which presumably diverged after the rise of the Isthmus of Panama, thus providing an internal molecular clock calibration. This allowed for a comprehensive evolutionary scenario for the genus. Our data were consistent with two independent allopatric speciation events (geminate species), and one likely sympatric speciation event. Our data were also consistent with the placement of Genyatremus and Haemulon within the genus Anisotremus, thus breaking its monophyletic status. As proposed for other coral reef species, Anisotremus seems to have colonized coral reefs from non-coral reef habitats. In addition, ancestral species seem to have been widespread, since species that are currently found in Brazilian and Pacific waters are basal on the phylogenetic tree. Finally, this study adds to the hypothesis of a secondary evolutionary center in the New World.  相似文献

In this paper, the analysis of the current distribution of species, or species-groups, of the Western–Palaearctic genus Amphimallon Berthold, 1827, based on a phylogenetic hypothesis recently provided and relevant paleogeographical events that occurred in the Mediterranean Basin from Late Paleogene (35 Myr BP) to the present, supports a biogeographical scenario to explain species diversity within this genus. The center of origin of this genus is hypothesized to be in the Iberian Peninsula. Microplate fragments drifting from the Iberian Peninsula, successive landmass suture events between the Eastern and Western Mediterranean Basins, separation of Tethys and Paratethys Oceans, re-establishment of marine connections, uplift of the Alps, and drying out of the Mediterranean are hypothesized as the principal events allowing dispersal of populations throughout Mediterranean Basin and biogeographical vicariances within the genus Amphimallon.  相似文献

In the traditional sense, several families of Chlorococcales sensu lato , such as Golenkiniaceae, Micractiniaceae, and Scenedesmaceae contained taxa with bristle formation, whereas the Chlorellaceae contained only genera without bristles. However, phylogenetic analyses of the small subunit (SSU) and internal transcribed spacer (ITS) rDNA sequences have shown that the genera Micractinium, Diacanthos (formerly Micractiniaceae) and Didymogenes (formerly Scenedesmaceae) are closely related to the genus Chlorella . The bristle formation within the Chlorella -clade is originated independently in four lineages: Micractinium pusillum, Diacanthos belenophorus, Didymogenes anomala , and Micractinium parvulum (also known as Golenkinia minutissima ). The latter species is to exclude from the genus Micractinium . Consequently, we proposed the new genus Hegewaldia and transferred M. parvulum to this genus. In contrast, Diacanthos belenophorus is closely related to Micractinium pusillum . As a result, the new combination ( Micractinium belenophorum comb. nov.) is proposed. Comparisons of the secondary structure of ITS-1 and ITS-2 rDNA sequences among the strains of Didymogenes and Hegewaldia are provided to support the species concept in these genera.  相似文献

Summary

In this publication, a subdivision of the genus Annenica O. Boettger, 1877 sensu Auct. is proposed. One result of our study is the recognition of the genus Sprattia O. Boettger, 1883 for most of the South Anatolian species of the former genus Armenica. The genus Astrogena Szekeres, 1970, which was synonymised by H. NORDSIECK (1975: 98) with Armenica is redefined and used as a subgenus of Armenica for some species. Extensive recent collections contain new species and subspecies of this genus, which are described here.  相似文献

The new genus, Acryptolechia (Lepidoptera, Cryptolechiidae), with the type species Cryptolechia malacobyrsa Meyrick, 1921 is described. The differences between this species and the type species of the genus Cryptolechia, Zeller 1852 (C. straminella Zeller, 1852) are shown. The genus Meleonoma Meyrick, 1914 is the closest to the new one. In addition to the type species, the new genus includes Acryptolechia facunda (Meyrick, 1910) comb. n. from India and A. torophanes (Meyrick, 1935) comb. n. from China.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to a taxonomic revision of the genus Sensillonychiurus Pomorski & Sveenkova, 2006. Five new species of this genus, i.e. Sensillonychiurus mirussp. n., Sensillonychiurus taimyrensissp. n., Sensillonychiurus vegaesp. n., Sensillonychiurus vitimicussp. n., and Sensillonychiurus amuricussp. n., as well as three new species of the related genus Allonychiurus Yoshii, 1995, i.e. Allonychiurus subvolinensissp. n., Allonychiurus elikoniussp. n., and Allonychiurus unisetosussp. n. are being described from various regions of Eurasia. The diagnoses of both genera are amended to include described species. Two genera, Tantulonychiurus Pomorski, 1996 and Thibaudichiurus Weiner, 1996, are treated as junior synonyms of the genus Allonychiurus. Agraphorura eisi (Rusek, 1976) is transferred to Sensillonychiurus; Tantulonychiurus volinensis (Szeptycki, 1964) and Tantulonychiurus asiaticus Babenko, 2007 to Allonychiurus. A review of morphological peculiarities of Sensillonychiurus is performed, comparisons with the other genera of Thalassaphorurini given, and a key to the known species provided.  相似文献

The largest genus of the phylum Sipuncula is reviewed and a key provided to the six subgenera. Some historical comments are provided, particularly with reference to the recent monograph by Stephen & Edmonds (1972). It is noted, in concurrence with Gepner's (1965) views, that despite its large size, Golfingia is a natural unit and probably reflects the site of most rapid cladogenesis as well as being the most generalized, primitive genus. Ten species names (abnormis, cantabriensis, charcoti, derjugini, iniqua, kolense, pavlenkoi, profunda, pusilla, and sluiteri) are synonymized as well as one generic name (Nephasoma). The motivating force behind many of these changes was our consideration of species as populations rather than types. This work is based on the inspection of several type specimens as well as the authors' extensive experience with this genus.  相似文献

The avian genus Saxicola is distributed throughout Africa, Asia, Europe and various islands across Oceania. Despite the fact that the group has great potential as a model to test evolutionary hypotheses due to the extensive variability in life history patterns recorded between and within species, the phylogenetic relationships among species and subspecies of this genus are poorly understood. We undertook a systematic investigation of the relationships within this genus with three main objectives in mind, (1) to test the monophyly of the genus; (2) to ascertain geographical origin and dispersal sequence; and (3) to test for monophyly within the most morphologically diverse species, S. torquata and S. caprata. We studied sequence data from the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene from 11 of the 12 recognized species and 15 of the 45 described subspecies. Four clades, two exclusively Asian, one Eurasian, and the fourth encompassing Eurasia and Africa, were identified. Based on our analyses, monophyly of the genus Saxicola is not supported and an Asian origin for the genus can be inferred. Results from DIVA analyses, tree topology and nodal age estimates suggest independent colonisation events from Asia to Africa and from Asia to the Western Palearctic, with the Sahara desert acting as a natural barrier for S. torquata. Subspecies and populations of S. torquata are not monophyletic due to S. tectes, S. dacotiae and S. leucura grouping within this complex. Subspecies and populations of S. caprata are monophyletic. Importantly, within S. torquata and S. caprata, slight morphological traits and plumage colour pattern differences used to recognize subspecies are indicative of the greater cryptic diversification that has occurred within this genus.  相似文献

Recent and fossil (mid‐Cenozoic) specimens of the brachiopod Valdiviathyris quenstedti Helmcke, 1940 are described from New Zealand. The unusual median processes of this genus are shown to be the attachment sites of the brachial protractor muscles. Valdiviathyris is compared with Ancistrocrania, Neoancistrocrania and Novocrania and is considered to be a valid separate genus in the family Craniidae.  相似文献

Parrotfishes of the genus Sparisoma (Scaridae) are ecologically important tropical reef fishes restricted to the Atlantic Ocean. We investigated phylogenetic relationships among the eight extant species within this genus using mitochondrially encoded 12S and 16S ribosomal genes. Our molecular data support the view that (i) Sparisoma originated approximately 14-35 million years ago (mya), probably in the tropical western Atlantic, off Brazil; (ii) there have been at least four discrete bouts of cladogenesis within the genus, with the most recent one ( approximately 2.8-5.6 mya) involving four events in both the east and the west Atlantic and across the Atlantic; and (iii) the genus invaded the eastern Atlantic on two different occasions, probably by at least two different routes. The data also offer support for Bellwood's ideas concerning the evolutionary changes in adult feeding patterns and habitat use within Scarids. Specifically, they support the evolutionary position of the ecological traits of Sparisoma as intermediate within the family.  相似文献

The discovery of crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM) in the trees of Clusia: arrival in the limelight of international research 8 II. Phylogeny 8 III. Photosynthetic physiotypes 10 IV. Metabolic flexibility: organic acid variations 12 V. The environmental control of photosynthetic flexibility 13 VI. Phenotypic plasticity: physiotypes and morphotypes 16 VII. Ecological amplitude and habitat impact 16 VIII. Conclusions and outlook 21 Acknowledgements 22 References 22 Summary It is the aim of this review to present a monographic survey of the neotropical genus Clusia on scaling levels from molecular phylogeny, metabolism, photosynthesis and autecological environmental responses to ecological amplitude and synecological habitat impact. Clusia is the only dicotyledonous genus with real trees performing crassulacean acid metabolism (CAM). By way of introduction, a brief historical reminiscence describes the discovery of CAM in Clusia and the consequent increase in interest in studying this particular genus of tropical shrubs and trees. The molecular phylogeny of CAM in the genus is compared with that in Kalancho? and the Bromeliaceae. At the level of metabolism and photosynthesis, the great plasticity of expression of photosynthetic physiotypes, i.e. (i) C(3) photosynthesis, (ii) CAM including CAM idling, (iii) CAM cycling and (iv) C(3)/CAM-intermediate behaviour, as well as metabolic flexibility in Clusia is illustrated. At the level of autecology, the factors water, irradiance and temperature, which control photosynthetic flexibility, are assessed. The phenotypic plasticity of physiotypes and morphotypes is described. At the level of synecology, the ecological amplitude of Clusia in the tropics and the relations to habitat are surveyed.  相似文献

New species in the genus Fabriciola Friedrich are described. Fabriciola is defined by a single synapomorphy, the presence of non-vascularized, ventral filamentous appendages. Otherwise the genus is variable, with differences among species in chaetae, eyes, and peristomial organization. The new species, Fabriciola flammula, F. liguronis and F. parvus , reflect this heterogeneity. Fabriciola liguronis has spermathecae in the radiolar crown of females, the first record of these structures in Fabriciola , but F. flammula and F. parvus lack spermathecae. Sperm ultrastructure in all three species share apomorphies with other fabriciins, but vary in other respects. Fabriciola may be paraphyletic, but material of the type species F. spongicola (Southern, 1921) has been unobtainable so far, and detailed study of this species is required to define the genus Fabriciola adequately.  相似文献

This paper reports on results of several collecting trips of the authors in Turkey. In the course of this research, a long-lasting question was addressed. It could be proven that the nominal species Bulimus frivaldskyi L. Pfeiffer, 1847 is closely related to Meijeriella canaliculata Bank, 1985, and thus this species is shifted from the genus Ena Turton, 1831, to the genus Meijeriella Bank, 1985. Meijeriella canaliculata Bank, 1985, could be recorded from Turkey for the first time. The nomenclatural situation of the species Euchondrus septemdentatus (Roth, 1839) vs. its replacement name Euchondrus borealis (Mousson, 1874) is discussed. A new arrangement of the species formely comprised in the genus Zebrina Held, 1837 is presented, and the genera Rhabdoena Kobelt & Moellendorff, 1902, and Leucomastus A. Wagner, 1927 are re-established. The following species and subspecies new to science could be described: Vitrea gosteliisp. n. (Pristilomatidae), Turanena demirsoyisp. n., Euchondrus paucidentatussp. n., Rhabdoena gosteliisp. n. (all Enidae), Metafruticicola kizildagensissp. n. (Hygromiidae), and Assyriella thospitis menkhorstissp. n. (Helicidae). For several other species, new distribution records are listed.  相似文献
