The objective of this study was to determine how the coronary artery stems develop in the chick embryo. The hearts of 51 ink-injected and cleared chick embryos, aged embryonic days 6, 6.5, 7, 7.5, 9, and 10, were dissected, examined, and selectively photographed. Two representative hearts from each group were paraffin embedded, serially sectioned at 10 microns, and examined for aortic endothelial budding. We found that the proximal coronary artery did not appear to grow outward from the aorta as commonly described in the literature. It appeared to originate from a capillary ring which encircled the aortic and pulmonary outflow tracts. On embryonic day 7.5, one to three channels arising from this ring penetrated each aortic sinus, in an area of darker textured endothelium. Histologically and grossly, multiple channels were still apparent on day 9, particularly in the left coronary artery. One of these channels always became dominant to form the stem. Each stem, which varied in length from embryo to embryo, always ended in a plexus of sinusoidal endothelial tubes. By day 10, the coronary artery stems were longer, with many major branches. Histologically, evidence of multiple channels still was visible. It is significant that channels from the bulbar vascular ring penetrated the aorta at very specific points in the aortic sinuses and did not penetrate the pulmonary trunk or other aortic sites. We believe this fact indicates that the penetration of the aortic sinuses by channels from the bulbar vascular ring represents a controlled invasion of the aorta.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Corrosion casting and immunohistochemical staining with anti‐alpha smooth muscle actin and anti‐CD34 was utilized to demonstrate the capillary plexus and venous system in control and malformed mouse hearts. METHODS: Outflow tract malformations (e.g., double outlet right ventricle, transposition of the great arteries, and common truncus arteriosus) were induced in progeny of pregnant mice by retinoic acid administration at day 8.5 of pregnancy. RESULTS: Although control hearts exhibited areas in which capillaries tended to be oriented in parallel arrays, the orientation of capillaries in the respective areas of malformed hearts was chaotic and disorganized. The major branch of a conal vein in control hearts runs usually from the left side of the conus to its right side at the root of the pulmonary trunk and opens to the right atrium below the right auricle; thus, it has a curved course. On the other hand, a conal vein in malformed hearts courses from the left side or from the anterior side of the conus and tends to traverse straight upwards along the dextroposed aorta or along the aortopulmonary groove with its proximal part located outside of the heart. Other cardiac veins in outflow tract malformations are positioned in the same locations as in control hearts. CONCLUSIONS: We postulate that the changed location of the conal vein and disorganized capillary plexus result from malformed morphogenesis of the outflow tract and/or a disturbed regulation of angiogenic growth factor release from the adjacent environment. Thirty-one hearts with anomalous conotruncus (common arterial trunk, hypoplasia of the aorta with transposition, atresia of the pulmonary trunk) have been studied. There are some peculiarities in anatomy and topography of the coronary sinus, concerning its sources, that is veins forming the venous sinus, position and interrelations with the venous sulcus and with the interatrial septum, size and form of the ostium and valve of the coronary sinus. The most amount of the anatomical peculiarities of the sinus are observed in the preparations, where the anomalous conotruncus is combined with absence of one or both cardiac septa.  相似文献

Avian embryo experiments proved an ingrowth model for the coronary artery connections with the aorta. However, whether a similar mechanism applies to the mammalian heart still remains unclear. Here we analyzed how the main coronary arteries and their orifices form during murine heart development. Apelin (Apln) is expressed in coronary vascular endothelial cells including peritruncal endothelial cells. By immunostaining, however, we did not find Apln expression in endothelial cells of the aorta during the period of coronary vessel development (E10.5 to E15.5). As a result of this unique expression difference, AplnCreERT2/+ genetically labels nascent coronary vessels forming on the heart, but not the aorta endothelium when pulse activated by tamoxifen injection at E10.5. This allowed us to define the temporal contribution of these distinct endothelial cell populations to formation of the murine coronary artery orifice. We found that the peritruncal endothelial cells were recruited to form the coronary artery orifices. These cells penetrate the wall of aorta and take up residence in the aortic sinus of valsalva. In conclusion, main coronary arteries and their orifices form through the recruitment and vascular remodeling of peritruncal endothelial cells in mammalian heart.  相似文献

We report a case of anterior myocardial infarction due to a Stanford type A aortic dissection involving the left main trunk of the coronary artery. Acute myocardial infarction due to extension of an acute Stanford type A aortic dissection is an infrequent but devastating situation. In our case a spontaneous aortocoronary dissection involving the Valsalva sinus and the ascending aorta with a history of hypertension is the most plausible cause. Emergent aortic replacement and revascularisation was performed. (Neth Heart J 2007;15:263-4.)  相似文献

To elucidate whether the extent of element accumulation in the arteries and cardiac valves with aging was different between different races, the authors investigated the accumulation of elements in the arteries and cardiac valves of the Thai with aging and the relationships among elements in the cardiac valves. After ordinary dissection at Chiang Mai University was finished, 16 arteries and 4 cardiac valves were resected and element contents were determined by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. In the 16 arteries, the average content of calcium was the highest in the site of the abdominal aorta ramifying into the common iliac arteries, and it decreased in the order internal iliac, coronary, abdominal aorta, common iliac, external iliac, superior mesenteric, inferior mesenteric, thoracic aorta, brachial, radial, common carotid, subclavian, ulnar, axillary, renal, and internal thoracic arteries. The average contents of phosphorus and magnesium in respective arteries were parallel with the average contents of calcium, except for the coronary artery. In comparison with the arteries of the Japanese, the trend of calcium accumulation in the arteries of the Thai was almost similar to that in the arteries of the Japanese, except for the coronary artery and thoracic aorta. The calcium accumulation in the coronary artery was much higher in the Thai than in the Japanese, whereas that in the thoracic aorta was lower in the Thai than in the Japanese. Regarding elements in the cardiac valves, the calcium content increased remarkably in the seventies in the aortic valve and in the nineties in the pulmonary valve, but it hardly increased in both the mitral and tricuspid valves with aging. The average content of calcium was the highest in the aortic valve, and it decreased in the order pulmonary, tricuspid, and mitral valves. Regarding the relationship among elements in the aortic valves, it was found that there were extremely significant direct correlations among the contents of calcium, phosphorus, and magnesium, whereas there were significant direct correlations between zinc and either calcium or phosphorus contents. Although significant correlations were found between sulfur and the other element contents in the aortic valves of the Japanese, no significant correlations were found between them in the aortic valves of the Thai. In the mitral valves, extremely or very significant direct correlations were found among the contents of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, and sulfur, with some exceptions that there were no significant correlations between phosphorus and either magnesium or sulfur contents. In addition, no significant correlation was found in the calcium content between the aortic valve and coronary artery in the same individuals.  相似文献

Noncoronary vasa vasorum have been described as networks of microvessels in the wall of arteries and veins. However, we have shown, using microcomputerized tomography (micro-CT) imaging methods, that porcine coronary vasa vasorum have a tree-like branching structure similar to the vasculature in general. In this study, we elucidate functional aspects of coronary vasa vasorum perfusion territories. Three pig hearts were injected with radiopaque Microfil via the coronary sinus to fill the left anterior descending coronary arteries (LADs) retrogradely at atmospheric pressure. In three other hearts, LADs were injected antegradely at 100-mmHg pressure via the left main carotid artery. Additionally, six LADs were injected in vivo with a suspension of 100- or 300-microm-diameter microspheres before harvesting of the hearts and injection of the LADs with Microfil. All harvested LADs were scanned intact with micro-CT (20 microm cubic voxels). The spatial density of vasa vasorum (no. of vasa/mm2) was measured in 20-microm-thick cross sections (at 0.4-mm intervals). Retrogradely injected LADs showed high and uniformly distributed vasa vasorum densities in the adventitia (means +/- SE; 5.38 +/- 0.09 vs. 3.58 +/- 0.1 vasa/mm2 in antegradely prepared LADs; P < 0.001). Antegradely prepared LADs showed patchy distributed, low-vasa-vasorum-density territories especially on the myocardial side of the coronary artery wall (epicardial density: 4.29 +/- 0.13 vasa/mm2 vs. myocardial density: 2.80 +/- 0.1 vasa/mm2, P < 0.001). Microembolization reduced vasa vasorum densities significantly (100-mum-diameter microspheres: 3.26 +/- 0.07 vasa/mm2, P < 0.05; 300-microm-diameter microspheres: 2.66 +/- 0.07 vasa/mm2, P < 0.001 vs. antegrade controls) and increased the size of low-vasa-vasorum-density territories. We conclude that coronary vasa vasorum are functional endarteries not connected via a plexus. This characteristic may have a significant impact on the spatial distribution of perfusion and drainage of the coronary vessel wall.  相似文献

N‐(2‐Aminoethyl)ethanolamine (AEEA) induced malformations of the great vessels in the offspring of rats treated during gestation and early lactation (Schneider et al., 2012. Birth Defects Res B Dev Reprod Toxicol [in press]). The aim of this study was to determine if in utero exposure alone was sufficient to induce these malformations or whether a peri‐postnatal exposure or physiological component was required. Three groups of five time‐mated female Wistar Han rats were administered AEEA (250 mg/kg/day) by gavage from gestation day (GD) 6 to GD 19 (groups 1 and 2) or from GD 6 to postnatal day 3 (group 3). Animals were euthanized on GD 21 (group 1) or postnatal day 4 (groups 2 and 3), and the hearts of the offspring were examined for changes to the great vessels. The incidence of malformations in group 1 was 91.1%, and primarily consisted of high aortic arch and abnormal carotid course. One fetus had an aortic aneurysm. All fetuses in groups 2 and 3 were malformed, primarily exhibiting abnormal carotid course and aneurysms, which mainly affected the aorta, ductus arteriosus, and pulmonary trunk. The incidence of high aortic arch was lower relative to group 1. Aneurysms were more prevalent in group 3 compared to group 2. These findings indicate that exposure to AEEA during gestation alone was sufficient to induce malformations of the great vessels and aneurysms, which may be triggered by physiological changes that occur during or after birth, but that the critical period of susceptibility to AEEA‐induced aneurysms in the rat extends beyond gestation into the early postnatal period.  相似文献

Background. Before coronary evaluation by modern imaging techniques was feasible, premorbid diagnoses of coronary artery anomalies (CAAs) were usually made fortuitously by invasive coronary angiography (ICA). However, this technique is limited by its invasive and projectional nature. Coronary magnetic resonance angiography (CMRA) and multi-slice computed tomography (MSCT) broadened clinical information by enabling visualisation of the coronary arteries in their anatomical environment. Methods. This case series visualises and reviews anomalous coronary artery from the opposite sinus (ACAOS) and coronary artery fistulae. All CAAs were detected by means of 64-slice dual source computed tomography after 1000 cardiac scans at the Erasmus MC, Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Results. Eight ACAOS cases, one anomalous left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) and one congenital aneurysm of an aortic sinus were found. Seven out often detected CAAs were considered malignant whereas three CAAs of the ACAOS type (retroaortic path) were considered benign. Significant coronary artery disease was found in three out of eight ACAOS cases. In one of the ACAOS cases complete evaluation of the anomalous coronary artery was limited by motion artifacts. All five cases of right ACAOS were referred for MSCT because the right coronary artery could not be located by invasive angiography. Conclusion. All CAAs were easy to diagnose because of 3D imaging and high temporal and spatial resolution. High resolution made it possible to not only depict coronary artery abnormalities, but also to quantify luminal and vessel properties such as stenosis grade, aspects of plaque, anomalous vessel length, luminal area ratio and the asymmetry ratio. Because of its comprehensiveness, MSCT can be an effective imaging modality in patients suspected of coronary artery abnormalities caused by coronary artery disease, CAAs, or a combination of both. To elucidate whether the accumulation of elements occurred simultaneously in the various arteries with aging, the authors investigated age-related changes of elements in the eight arteries, such as the thoracic and abdominal aortas and the coronary, common carotid, pulmonary, splenic, common iliac, and uterine arteries, and the relationships in the element contents among their arteries. After ordinary dissection by medical students was finished, the thoracic and abdominal aortas and the coronary, common carotid, pulmonary, splenic, common iliac, and uterine arteries were resected from the subjects, who ranged in age from 58 to 94 yr. The element contents were analyzed by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. It was found that the accumulation of Ca was the highest in the common iliac artery and decreased in the order of the uterine artery, abdominal aorta, coronary artery, thoracic aorta, splenic artery, common carotid artery, and pulmonary artery. Regarding the relationships in the element contents among the eight arteries, it was found that there were significant direct correlations in the contents of Ca, P, Mg, Zn, Fe, and Na between the coronary and splenic arteries, and there were significant correlations in the contents of Ca, P, and Mg between the abdominal aorta and pulmonary artery.  相似文献

To explore reasons for a high accumulation of Ca and P occurring in the coronary artery of Thai with aging, the authors investigated age-related changes of elements in the coronary artery, ascending aorta near the heart, and cardiac valves in single individuals, and the relationships in the elements between the coronary artery and either the ascending aorta or cardiac valves. After an ordinary dissection by medical students at Chiang Mai University was finished, the anterior descending arteries of the left coronary artery, ascending aortas, mitral valves, and aortic valves were resected from the subjects. The subjects consisted of 17 men and 9 women, ranging in age from 46 to 76 yr. The element content was analyzed by inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometry. The average content of Ca and P was the highest in the coronary artery and decreased in the order aortic valve, ascending aorta, and mitral valve. The Ca, P, and Mg content increased in the coronary artery in the fifties and in the ascending aorta, aortic valve, and mitral valve in the sixties. It should be noted that the accumulation of Ca, P, and Mg occurred earlier in the coronary artery than in the ascending aorta, aortic valve, and mitral valve. It was found that with respect to the Ca, P, Mg, and Na contents, the coronary artery correlated well with both the aortic valve and ascending aorta, especially with the aortic valve, but it did not correlate with the mitral valves. This finding suggests that the accumulation of Ca, P, Mg, and Na occurs in the coronary artery together with the aortic valve and ascending aorta, but not together with the mitral valve. Because regarding the accumulation of Ca, P, and Mg, the ascending aorta and aortic valve are preceded by the coronary artery, it is unlikely that the accumulation of Ca, P, and Mg spreads from the ascending aorta or aortic valve to the coronary artery.  相似文献

This study focuses on the dynamic flow through the fetal aortic arch driven by the concurrent action of right and left ventricles. We created a parametric pulsatile computational fluid dynamics (CFD) model of the fetal aortic junction with physiologic vessel geometries. To gain a better biophysical understanding, an in vitro experimental fetal flow loop for flow visualization was constructed for identical CFD conditions. CFD and in vitro experimental results were comparable. Swirling flow during the acceleration phase of the cardiac cycle and unidirectional flow following mid-deceleration phase were observed in pulmonary arteries (PA), head-neck vessels, and descending aorta. Right-to-left (oxygenated) blood flowed through the ductus arteriosus (DA) posterior relative to the antegrade left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT) stream and resembled jet flow. LVOT and right ventricular outflow tract flow mixing had not completed until approximately 3.5 descending aorta diameters downstream of the DA insertion into the aortic arch. Normal arch model flow patterns were then compared to flow patterns of four common congenital heart malformations that include aortic arch anomalies. Weak oscillatory reversing flow through the DA junction was observed only for the Tetralogy of Fallot configuration. PA and hypoplastic left heart syndrome configurations demonstrated complex, abnormal flow patterns in the PAs and head-neck vessels. Aortic coarctation resulted in large-scale recirculating flow in the aortic arch proximal to the DA. Intravascular flow patterns spatially correlated with abnormal vascular structures consistent with the paradigm that abnormal intravascular flow patterns associated with congenital heart disease influence vascular growth and function.  相似文献

The formation of the coronary vessel system is vital for heart development, an essential step of which is the establishment of a capillary plexus that displays a density gradient across the myocardial wall, being higher on the epicardial than the endocardial side. This gradient in capillary plexus formation develops concurrently with transmural gradients of myocardium-derived growth factors, including FGFs. To test the role of the FGF expression gradient in patterning the nascent capillary plexus, an ectopic FGF-over-expressing site was created in the ventricular myocardial wall in the quail embryo via retroviral infection from E2-2.5, thus abolishing the transmural gradient of FGFs. In FGF virus-infected regions of the ventricular myocardium, the capillary density across the transmural axis shifted away from that in control hearts at E7. This FGF-induced change in vessel patterning was more profound at E12, with the middle zone becoming the most vascularized. An up-regulation of FGFR-1 and VEGFR-2 in epicardial and subepicardial cells adjacent to FGF virus-infected myocardium was also detected, indicating a paracrine effect on induction of vascular signaling components in coronary precursors. These results suggest that correct transmural patterning of coronary vessels requires the correct transmural expression of FGF and, therefore, FGF may act as a template for coronary vessel patterning.  相似文献

Coronary artery anomalies and aortic valve morphology in the Syrian hamster   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In the Syrian hamster, anomalies in the origin of the left coronary artery are significantly associated with the bicuspid condition of the aortic valve. In this species, bicuspid aortic valves are expressions of a trait, the variation of which takes the form of a phenotypic continuum, ranging from a tricuspid aortic valve with no commissural fusion to a bicuspid aortic valve with the aortic sinuses located in ventrodorsal orientation and devoid of any raphe. The intermediate stages of the continuum are represented by tricuspid aortic valves with a more or less extensive fusion of the ventral commissure and bicuspid aortic valves with a more or less developed raphe located in the ventral aortic sinus. The present study was designed to decide whether there is a gap between tricuspid and bicuspid aortic valves regarding the incidence of coronary artery anomalies, or whether this incidence varies according to the different tricuspid and bicuspid morphotypes of the continuum. The study was carried out in Syrian hamsters belonging to a single inbred family with a high incidence of tricuspid aortic valves with fusion of the ventral commissure, bicuspid aortic valves, and anomalies in the origin of the left coronary artery, i.e. single right coronary artery ostium in aorta, anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the pulmonary artery, and anomalous origin of the left coronary artery from the dorsal aortic sinus. The specimens were examined by means of a stereomicroscope and, in several cases, scanning electron microscopy was also used. The relationships between anomalous coronary artery patterns and aortic valve morphologies were tested using a logistic regression model. The results obtained indicate that there is no discontinuity between tricuspid and bicuspid aortic valves regarding the incidence of coronary artery anomalies. The probability of occurrence of anomalous coronary artery patterns increases continuously according to the deviation degree of the aortic valve from its normal (tricuspid) design. The present findings suggest that in the Syrian hamster, the morphogenetic mechanisms involved in the formation of congenital anomalous aortic valves and anomalies in the origin of the left coronary artery, respectively, are strongly related from an aetiological viewpoint.  相似文献

Methyl methacrylate vascular corrosion replicas were used to examine the macrocirculation in the head region and the microcirculation of respiratory vessels in the air-breathing swamp eel Monopterus cuchia. Fixed respiratory tissue was also examined by SEM to verify capillary orientation. The respiratory and systemic circulations are only partially separated, presumably resulting in supply of mixed oxygenated and venous blood to the tissues. A long ventral aorta gives rise directly to the coronary and hypobranchial arteries. Two large shunt vessels connect the ventral aorta to the dorsal aorta, whereas the remaining ventral aortic flow goes to the respiratory islets and gills. Only two pairs of vestigial gill arches remain, equivalent to the second and third arches, yet five pairs of aortic arches were identified. Most aortic arches supply the respiratory islets. Respiratory islet capillaries are tightly coiled spirals with only a fraction of their total length in contact with the respiratory epithelium. Valve-like endothelial cells delimit the capillary spirals and are unlike endothelial cells in other vertebrates. The gills are highly modified in that the lamellae are reduced to a single-channel capillary with a characteristic three-dimensional zig-zag pathway. There are no arterio-arterial lamellar shunts, although the afferent branchial artery supplying the gill arches also supplies respiratory islets distally. A modified interlamellar filamental vasculature is present in gill tissue but absent or greatly reduced in the respiratory islets. The macro- and micro-circulatory systems of M. cuchia have been considerably modified presumably to accommodate aerial respiration. Some of these modifications involve retention of primitive vessel types, whereas others, especially in the microcirculation, incorporate new architectural designs some of whose functions are not readily apparent.  相似文献

Embryonic development of the proepicardium and coronary vessels   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
In the last few years, an increasing interest in progenitor cells has been noted. These cells are a source of undifferentiated elements from which cellular components of tissues and organs develop. Such progenitor tissue delivering stem cells for cardiac development is the proepicardium. The proepicardium is a transient organ which occurs near the venous pole of the embryonic heart and protrudes to the pericardial cavity. The proepicardium is a source of the epicardial epithelium delivering cellular components of vascular wall and interstitial tissue fibroblasts. It contributes partially to a fibrous tissue skeleton of the heart. Epicardial derived cells play also an inductive role in differentiation of cardiac myocytes into conductive tissue of the heart. Coronary vessel formation proceeds by vasculogenesis and angiogenesis. The first tubules are formed from blood islands which subsequently coalesce forming the primitive vascular plexus. Coronary arteries are formed by directional growth of vascular protrusions towards the aorta and establishing contact with the aortic wall. The coronary vascular wall matures by attaching smooth muscle cell precursors and fibroblast precursors to the endothelial cell wall. The cells of tunica media differentiate subsequently into vascular smooth muscle by acquiring specific contractile and cytoskeletal markers of smooth muscle cells in a proximal - distal direction. The coronary artery wall matures first before cardiac veins. Maturity of the vessel wall is demonstrated by the specific shape of the internal surface of the vascular wall.  相似文献

It has not been possible to measure wave speed in the human coronary artery, because the vessel is too short for the conventional two-point measurement technique used in the aorta. We present a new method derived from wave intensity analysis, which allows derivation of wave speed at a single point. We apply this method in the aorta and then use it to derive wave speed in the human coronary artery for the first time. We measured simultaneous pressure and Doppler velocity with intracoronary wires at the left main stem, left anterior descending and circumflex arteries, and aorta in 14 subjects after a normal coronary arteriogram. Then, in 10 subjects, serial measurements were made along the aorta before and after intracoronary isosorbide dinitrate. Wave speed was derived by two methods in the aorta: 1) the two-site distance/time method (foot-to-foot delay of pressure waveforms) and 2) a new single-point method using simultaneous pressure and velocity measurements. Coronary wave speed was derived by the single-point method. Wave speed derived by the two methods correlated well (r = 0.72, P < 0.05). Coronary wave speed correlated with aortic wave speed (r = 0.72, P = 0.002). After nitrate administration, coronary wave speed fell by 43%: from 16.4 m/s (95% confidence interval 12.6-20.1) to 9.3 m/s (95% confidence interval 6.5-12.0, P < 0.001). This single-point method allows determination of wave speed in the human coronary artery. Aortic wave speed is correlated to coronary wave speed. Finally, this technique detects the prompt fall in coronary artery wave speed with isosorbide dinitrate.  相似文献

Chick embryos incubated for 72-80 hours were exposed to various volumes (0.20-0.40 m1/egg) of 50% ethyl alcohol. Examination of embryos at day 14 of incubation showed that higher doses of ethanol decreased the survival rate of embryos compared with control embryos. Three major categories of cardiovascular malformations were observed in this study: intracardiac anomalies characterized primarily by isolated ventricular septal defect, ventricular septal defect with overriding aorta, double outlet right ventricle or common aorticopulmonary trunk; aortic arch anomalies; and subclavian artery anomalies. Frequencies of embryos with intracardiac anomalies were equal to or greater than 64.8% in the six groups exposed to ethanol. Administration of ethanol also induced high frequencies of embryos with subclavian artery anomalies (11.2-89.1%). Absence or hypoplasia of the right and/or left secondary subclavian artery was commonly associated with persistence of the corresponding primary subclavian artery. Bilateral absence and/or hypoplasia of the secondary subclavian arteries was more common than unilateral anomalies, whereas absence of the left secondary subclavian artery was more commonly observed than an absent right secondary subclavian artery. No embryos in the two control groups combined (n = 94) demonstrated aortic arch or subclavian artery anomalies.  相似文献

The morphological innervation pattern of developing fetal and neonatal rabbit hearts was delineated histochemically by a cholinesterase/silver procedure and immunohistochemically with the monoclonal antibody HNK1, an antibody which recognizes some cells derived from neuroectoderm. Cholinesterase-containing nerves appeared distally on the outflow tract by gestational day 15 (G15). Isolated cells with cholinesterase-stained fine processes were present near the base of the pulmonary trunk. HNK1 antibody stained the same nerves and ganglia revealed by the cholinesterase reaction and other nerves in the rabbit heart. It was used to confirm that cells with fine neuron-like processes were present before nerve ingrowth. The G14 heart contained many HNK1 staining cells in the right atrium, outflow, and inflow tracts; cells with fine processes were few but increased at G16. By G17, a plexus of interweaving nerves and associated cells began to form at the base of the pulmonary trunk. Fine nerves encircled the base of the aorta, and others crossed the intercaval region dorsally. At G19, nerves 1) extended downward from a rich "bulbar" plexus along the front ventricular surface, 2) grew near the epicardial surface at the base of the heart along the atrial floor and ventricular roof, 3) traversed the vena cavae and intercaval region to enter the atrial roof, and 4) crossed the coronary sinus to reach the back ventricular walls. By G23, cholinesterase-staining nerves and ganglia in the atria and, epicardially, in the ventricles formed the general innervation pattern of the newborn and adult rabbit heart.  相似文献

The plasma concentration of 6-keto-PGF1 alpha, the stable degradation product of prostacyclin, was similar in the radial and pulmonary arteries and in the coronary sinus before and after the induction of the anesthesia in patients undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery. After the beginning of the mechanical ventilation and anesthesia the pulmonary vascular resistance decreased although no changes were detected in the plasma levels of 6-keto-PGF1 alpha or TXB2. During the prebypass period after the sternotomy and cannulation of the large vessels the plasma level of 6-keto-PGF1 alpha was increased similarly in the radial and pulmonary arteries and even more in the coronary sinus. During the cardiopulmonary bypass the concentration of 6-keto-PGF1 alpha remained at the increased level as compared to the values before the anesthesia. This indicates that pulmonary circulation is perhaps not the main source of prostacyclin in man. The plasma level of TXB2 was increased during the prebypass period significantly only in the coronary sinus, but during the bypass also in the radial artery. The concentration ratio of 6-keto-PGF1 alpha/TXB2 was increased significantly during the prebypass period in the radial and pulmonary arteries. At the same time the pulmonary vascular resistance was, however, returned to the preanesthesia level and was thus not decreased. The vascular resistance in the systemic circulation was increased during the prebypass period. The plasma level of 6-keto-PGF1 alpha or TXB2 in the radial and pulmonary arteries did not correlate significantly with the total vascular resistance in the systemic and pulmonary circulation, respectively. The vascular resistance in the coronary circulation did not correlate significantly with TXB2 level in the radial artery or coronary sinus. There was, however, a slight positive correlation between the blood flow and the concentration of TXB2 in the coronary sinus (r = 0.76, P less than 0.01). Coronary sinus flow did, however, not correlate with the plasma level of 6-keto-PGF1 alpha in the radial artery or coronary sinus. These results indicate that the detected plasma concentrations of prostacyclin and thromboxane A2 have no significant effects on the total vascular resistance in vivo.  相似文献
