Cloning and characterization of genes encoded in dTDP-D-mycaminose biosynthetic pathway from a midecamycin-producing strain, Streptomyces mycarofaciens

Two subclusters from Streptomyces mycarofaciens,a midecamycin producer,were clonedand partially sequenced.One region was located at the 5' end of the mid polyketide synthase(PKS)genesand contained the genes midA,midB and midC.The other region was at the 3' end of the PKS genes andcontained midK,midI and midH.Analysis of the nucleotide sequence revealed that these genes encodedTDP-glucose synthase(midA),dTDP-glucose dehydratase(midB),aminotransferase(midC),methyltransferase(midK),glycosyltransferase(midI)and an assistant gene(midH).All of these genes areinvolved in the biosynthesis of dTDP-D-mycaminose,the first deoxysugar of midecamycin,and intransferring the mycaminose to the midecamycin aglycone in S.mycarofaciens.Similar to gene pairsdes Ⅷ/desⅦ in S.venezuelae and tylMⅢ/tylMⅡ in S.fradiae,the product of midH probablyfunctions as an auxiliary protein required by the MidI protein for efficient glycosyltransfer in midecamycinbiosynthesis.     

The finding of the genus Clonostachys （Hyphomycetes） in China

Clonostachys phyllophila and Clonostachys rogersoniana were isolated from rhizosphere soil of Allium tuberosum in Chaoyang, Liaoning Province. It is the first report of the genus in China. The species was described morphologically and illustrated in this paper, the culture was stored in the Culture Collection of Liaoning Center of Culture Collection （LCCC）.

Orbilia Fr. and Hyalorbilia Baral & G. Marson are the only genera currently accepted in the family Orbiliaceae which was established by Nannfeldt (Baral, 1994; Kirk et al., 2001). Hyalorbilia was erected by Baral and Marson (2001) based on unstalked asci arising from crosiers, with hemispherical apices without wall thickenings, some bipolar-symmetrical globose inclusion bodies in ascospores (living state), asci and paraphyses cohere in a gelatinous matrix, paraphyses with not or only slightly inflated apices, and an ectal excipulum of horizontally oriented textura rectangular.

Proviral genomic sequence analysis of Chinese donkey leukocyte attenuated equine infectious anemia virus vaccine and its parental virus strain Liaoning

Proviral DNA was extracted from donkey leukocyte infected with Chinese donkey leukocyte attenuated equine infectious anemia virus (DLA-EIAV), and peripheral blood lymphocytes (PBL) from a horse infected with the virulent EIAV strain Liaoning (EIAV L). The entire proviral DNA from both viruses was cloned and sequenced. The lengths of complete genomic sequences of DLA-EIAV and EIAV L provirus were 8266 bp and 8235 bp, respectively. Sequence comparison indicated that DLA-EIAV shares 97.0% and 97.5% in sequence homology with EIAV L and donkey-adapted EIAV (DA-EIAV), respectively. Lots of variations occurred in long terminal repeat (LTR, consisting of U3, R, U5), ORF S2, and envregions between DLA-EIAV and EIAV L. The nucleotide sequence differences of the two viruses in U3, R, U5, ORF S2, and env are 13.2%, 7.5%, 5.1%, 3.9%, and 2.7%, respectively, and predicted amino acid sequence differences in env and S2 coding regions are 4.4% and 8.8%, respectively. 青海特蚋亚属一新种(双翅目:蚋科)

Simulium (Tetisimulium) xiaodaoense sp. nov. is described based on the female specimens collected from Qinghai, China. This species is assigned to the subgenus Tetisimulium, and is closely related to S. (T.) tachengense An and Mahe, 1994 and S. (T.) wutaishanense An and Yan, 2003. However, it is clearly differentiated from them by the structure of gonapophyses, genital fork, genital plate, paraproct and cercus of the female. All the specimens are kept in the Medical Entomology Collection Gallery, Academy of Military Sciences, Beijing.     

细基格孢属一新种和两个中国新记录种

A new species and two new Chinese records in the genus Ulocladium from soil are reported. New species is Ulocladium leve, and the new records are U. alternariae and U. consortiale. Latin diagnosis of the new species is presented. Holotype specimen (dried culture) of the new species and dried cultures of two new records are deposited in the Herbarium of Shandong Agricultural University: Plant Pathology (HSAUP).     

贵州蓑藓属一新种

There are species of Macromitrium in Guizhou province China. Among them, 2 species are endemic species, M.cavalerier Card &; Ther. and M.fortu natii Card &; Ther. During a recent re-examination of some Macromitrium specime ns from this region. A taxon closely related to species of the M. ferriei Card &; Ther. was found to be different from any known species of Macromitrium and is described here as a new species.......
