脆弱刚毛藻(Cladophora fracta)是一种大型丝状绿藻,生境分布广泛。然而,对于岩溶泉域分布的刚毛藻研究较少,它们的遗传多样性、生物地理亲缘性和生理特性都有待于深入研究。该研究对我国北方地区五个典型岩溶泉域的50个脆弱刚毛藻样本进行了形态学和分子系统学描述。主要研究目标:(1)对我国北方地区五个典型岩溶泉的刚毛藻生境进行描述;(2)根据形态学特征和分子序列对藻体进行鉴定;(3)探究生境对藻体生理特性的影响。结果表明:基于SSU和LSU序列的结果,发现所分析的50株刚毛藻个体为同一种,同时还发现了13个不同的核糖体基因型。基于SSU和LSU的系统发育树,刚毛藻属均未能形成单系分支,分布在三个不同的分支上。13个样本基因型在SSU和LSU树中的位置相似,与Cladophora vagabunda有很高的序列同源性,但是形态特征却差异很大。从显微结构结果来看,五个岩溶泉域采集到的刚毛藻在细胞直径上无显著差异,藻体的形态特征与脆弱刚毛藻相一致。但是,岩溶泉域采集的藻体细胞直径比文献报道中在湖泊和河流中采集的脆弱刚毛藻直径要大。另外,仅在两个地点(XA和ST)采集的标本中发现有假根状分枝。因此,基于形态学和分子序列的结果,将这五个泉域的刚毛藻鉴定为脆弱刚毛藻(Cladophora fracta)。  相似文献

Thompson Run, a headwater stream in central Pennsylvania (U.S.A.), supports an impaired macroinvertebrate community downstream of the outlet of a detention pond that receives urban runoff. To determine if toxicity from the metals or other pollutants in urban runoff contributed to impairment, we exposed adult, male Gammarus minus to urban runoff during a 42-day in situ bioassay that included 12 rain events. Test animals were collected from a site upstream of the detention pond outlet using two methods: precopula pair separation and sieving. Water quality, temperature and tissue metal concentrations were measured during the bioassay. The survival of precopula G. minus was lower (p=0.048) at a site downstream of the detention pond outlet compared to a site upstream of it, but the survival of sieved G. minus was not different between sites (p=0.803). Large hourly increases in temperature (up to 6.6 °C) and major reductions in water quality including order of magnitude increases in suspended materials (measured as turbidity) and the concentrations of copper, zinc and lead occurred downstream of the detention pond outlet during stormflow (i.e. following rain events). In contrast, changes in temperature and water quality were minor upstream of the pond outlet throughout the bioassay. Copper and cadmium concentrations in leaf samples and copper, zinc and lead concentrations in G. minus samples were significantly higher downstream of the pond outlet than they were upstream of it. Despite harsh conditions downstream of the pond outlet (i.e. metal contamination, inputs of suspended materials and rapid temperature increases), the in situ bioassay did not convincingly demonstrate that urban runoff was toxic to adult, male G. minus.  相似文献

In the context of rising seawater temperatures associated with climate change, the issue of whether coral holobionts deal with this challenge by shuffling their associations with stress‐ and/or heat‐tolerant Symbiodinium, by generating heat‐resistant host genotypes, or both is important for coral survival. In this study, the composition of communities of the endosymbiont Symbiodinium and the population genetics of the coral host Platygyra verweyi were examined in a reef impacted by hot‐water discharged from the outlet of a nuclear power plant in operation in Kenting, Southern Taiwan since 1984. The water at this site is 2.0–3.0 °C warmer than adjacent reefs in summer, which have an average seawater temperature of 29.0 °C. The data were compared with those for the same species at other sites within 12 km of the outlet site. Platygyra verwyei was associated with one or both of Symbiodinium types C3 (heat sensitive) and D1a (heat tolerant) at all sites with the latter being the dominant at the nuclear power plant outlet. The proportion of C3 in populations increased gradually with increasing distance from the hot‐water discharge. Genetic analysis of the Platygyra verweyi host using mitochondrial and nuclear markers showed no genetic differentiation among sites. Changes in the composition of Symbiodinium types associated with P. verweyi among closely located sites in Kenting suggested that this coral might have acclimatized to the constant thermal stress by selective association with heat‐tolerant Symbiodinium types, whereas the role of the host in adaptation was inconclusive.  相似文献

淡黄金花茶(Camelia flavida)是一种具有淡黄色花瓣的金花茶植物,为喀斯特典型的耐阴灌木。基于广西弄岗喀斯特季节性雨林15 hm2(300 m×500 m)监测样地,利用13对微卫星(SSR)标记,探讨喀斯特地貌对淡黄金花茶的精细空间遗传结构(SGS)、基因流和小尺度范围遗传分化的影响。结果表明:(1)淡黄金花茶在50 m距离内产生显著的SGS,在灌木类型和依赖种子传播的物种中具有中等程度的SGS强度(Sp=0.0248);(2)淡黄金花茶种子和花粉传播平均距离较短,分别为12.47 m和29.03 m,72.2%花粉和81.0%种子的传播距离均主要是在20 m内;(3)淡黄金花茶在小尺度范围(种群间距离1 km)的4个种群,甚至相距100 m的两个斑块产生了显著的遗传分化。喀斯特生境地貌对淡黄金花茶的基因流产生阻碍作用,从而导致淡黄金花茶在小尺度范围产生遗传分化。  相似文献

This study documents the status of forest vegetation in the karst region of Los Haitises National Park, Dominican Republic, following the abandonment of pastures (5 years), young (5 years) `conucos' (mixed plantings), old (7–30 years) conucos, and cacao plantations (>25 years). We compared these sites to vegetation characteristics of patches of forest in karst valleys (`old forest'–too old to know their exact land use) and on mogote tops with no recent history of human disturbance. The youngest sites date to when squatters were removed from Los Haitises National Park. Forest structure (density, basal area, and species richness of woody plants 1 cm DBH) were all significantly affected by land use. Density was highest in intermediate-aged valley sites (old conucos) and mogote tops, while both basal area and species richness tended to increase with age of abandonment. Although cacao plantations had been abandoned for more than 25 years the species diversity was low, due to continued regeneration of this persistent crop. Abandoned pastures had the greatest nonwoody biomass and were dominated by the fern Nephrolepis multiflora which had completely replaced pasture grasses. An ordination of the woody plant communities separated the mogote tops from valleys, emphasizing the strong control that topography has on the forest community in moist and wet tropical forests on karst substrates. Valley sites were arranged in the ordination in order of their age, suggesting a successional sequence converging on the composition of the `old forest' sites.  相似文献

为了探究不同种植方式下草本植物对喀斯特"土层浅薄"和"岩溶干旱"生境的养分调节响应,选择苇状羊茅(Festuca arundinacea)和黑麦草(Lolium perenne)为研究材料,在盆栽水分控制条件下设置了2种土壤厚度[对照土壤厚度(T_(CK))和浅土(T_S)]、2种水分处理[对照水分(W_(CK))和干旱(W_D)]和2种种植方式(单种和混种),研究土壤厚度和水分减少对混种下两种草本植物元素含量、积累和分配的影响。结果表明:(1)与对照组(CK:T_(CK)W_(CK))相比,在浅土组(S:T_SW_(CK))、干旱组(D:T_(CK)W_D)和浅土+干旱组(SD:T_SW_D),苇状羊茅和黑麦草的地上和根系C和N含量在单种和混种下(浅土除外)显著增加,P含量和各部分元素积累量显著降低;而苇状羊茅的根系各元素分配比在3种低资源水平下(S、D、SD)由单种时增加转为混种时降低,而黑麦草的根系营养元素分配比在浅土中增加,但在干旱处理下减少。(2)在对照资源水平下(CK),混种后苇状羊茅的地上部分C含量、根系P含量、地上、地下和总的元素积累量和根系元素分配比显著高于单种,而在3种低资源水平下达到各参数在单种和混种下无显著差异。(3)在各资源水平下,混种后黑麦草各部分C、N、P的含量、积累量和根系元素分配比大体上与单种无显著差异。结果表明,在低资源水平下,苇状羊茅和黑麦草通过增加C和N元素含量表现出较强的资源获取和防御能力。在混种条件下,苇状羊茅能够通过调节自身元素的积累和分配来提高竞争力,而黑麦草保持相对恒定的策略来响应竞争。  相似文献

Little Mere (Cheshire) is a small (2.7 ha) and shallow (average depth 0.7 m) fertile lake in Cheshire, UK. Nymphaeids cover almost 40 % of its entire surface during the growing season (April to October) and practically all the rest is covered by a mixed community of submerged plants. The lake was intensively sampled for plant-associated Cladocera and zooplankters from April 1998-April 2000. Samples were collected at five sites across the lake, three of them located within lily beds, the other two over submerged plant beds of mixed composition. Specific sampling techniques were developed for floating lily leaves, petioles, submerged plants and water. Significant horizontal differences were identified for most cladoceran species, both open-water and plant-associated, for chydorid periphyton scrapers and for filter-feeders. Daphnia hyalina (L.) and Ceriodaphnia sp were significantly more abundant in lily beds than in more open water in both growing seasons, suggesting lily beds are an effective refuge against fish predation. Size-structure and egg-ratio data support this contention. Egg-ratio models were examined for Daphnia hyalina and Simocephalus vetulus (O.F. Müller), a plant-associated cladoceran. The fertility of S. vetulus in lily beds was generally high throughout growing seasons. The construction of egg-ratio models for this species was hampered by their generally very patchy distributions.  相似文献

The impact that the alien mussel Musculista senhousia has on benthic biodiversity and community structure was investigated in two Italian transitional environments, where the species was particularly abundant: the Sacca di Goro (Adriatic Sea), and the Rio Padrongiano Deltaic area (Sardinia, Tyrrhenian Sea). Sampling campaigns were conducted by sampling mussel beds from each of two different patch size classes (small: <1.0 m2, and large: >10.0 m2), and the surrounding bare sediments. At both study sites, mussel density varied greatly with time within and between patches. Despite the huge difference in benthic species complement at Goro and Padrongiano (33 and 115 taxa, respectively), at both sites the presence of mussel patches had a gross positive effect on the benthic community. At Goro, many trophic guilds showed a positive relationship with mussel abundance. At Padrongiano, a continuous and directional process of patches colonization (both large and small) through time seemed evident, while at Goro the process was interrupted by high-summer mortalities. At both study sites, M. senhousia played a double role: (1) as secondary substratum, enhancing the environmental structural complexity, and (2) as densely aggregated, living organisms, thus giving rise to a number of possible interactions with other invertebrates. Potted two-year-old lemon trees [Citrus limon (L.) Burm. f.], cv. Verna grafted on sour orange (C. aurantium L.) rootstock, growing in greenhouse, were subjected to drought for 33 d. Control plants were daily irrigated at field capacity. Values of sap flow (SF) were compared with transpiration (E) rates measured gravimetrically. The results underlined the robustness and high sensitivity of the compensation heat-pulse technique for estimating transpiration on a wide range of SF. Good direct correlations between E and SF rates on an instantaneous and daily basis were obtained in both treatments. On a daily basis, a common calibration curve can be used for both irrigation treatments. On an instantaneous basis, changes in SF were matches by similar changes in E in both treatments, although the relationships between these parameters presented different intercepts in each treatment. Sap flow rates were influenced by weather conditions in trees growing in non-limiting soil water conditions. Five three- to four-year old created palustrine/emergent wetland sites were compared with five nearby natural wetlands of comparable size and type. Hydrologic, soil and vegetation data were compiled over a nearly two-year period (1988-90). Created sites, which were located along major highways, exhibited more open water, greater water depth, and greater fluctuation in water depth than natural wetlands. Typical wetland soils exhibiting mottling and organic accumulation were wanting in created sites as compared with natural sites. Typha latifolia (common cattail) was the characteristic emergent vegetation at created sites, whereas a more diverse mosaic of emergent wetland species was often associated with Typha at the natural sites. Species richness was slightly higher in created (22–45) vs. natural (20–39) wetlands, but the mean difference (33 vs. 30) was not significant. Nearly half (44%) of the 54 wetland taxa found at the various study sites were more frequently recorded at created than natural wetlands. The presence of mycorrhizae in roots of Typha angustifolia (narrow-leaved cattail) and Phragmites australis (common reed) was greater at created than natural wetlands, which may be related to differential nutrient availability. Wildlife use at all sites ranged from occasional to rare, with more sightings of different species in the natural (39) than created (29) wetlands. The presence of P. australis and introduced Lythrum salicaria (purple loosestrife) may pose a threat to future species richness at the created sites. One created site has permanent flow-through hydrology, and its vegetation and wildlife somewhat mimic a natural wetland; however, the presence of P. australis and its potential spread pose an uncertain future for this site. This study suggests the possibility of creating small palustrine/emergent wetlands having certain functions associated with natural wetlands, such as flood water storage, sediment accretion and wildlife habitat. It is premature to evaluate fully the outcome of these wetland creation efforts. A decade or more is needed, emphasizing the importance of long term monitoring and the need to establish demonstration areas.  相似文献

Penetration of Allium cepa epidermal cells (white, yellow, and red varieties) by Botrytis allii induced a response by host protoplasts in normal tissue which was not observed when penetrations were made in protoplast-free host cell walls. Callose and auto-fluorescing substances (possibly phenolic compounds) were located at the penetration sites only in normal host cells containing protoplasts. Lignin tests were negative. Halos were clearly visible in both types of tissue. Autofluorescence was observed at penetration sites in normal cells of all cultivars but general wall background autofluorescence was not observed in white onions. Autofluorescence was generally yellow green and when treated with ammonium hydroxide became green. Treatment with sodium hydroxide abolished autofluorescence. No attempt was made to isolate the autofluorescing material.  相似文献

The chromosomal characteristics, locations and variations of two classes of ribosomal DNA (5S and 18S) were studied in European grayling karyotype (Thymallus thymallus, Salmonidae). Major rDNA sites as revealed by sequential CMA3/Ag staining and confirmed by in situ hybridization with a 18S rDNA probe were situated in two loci and were found to be polymorphic in size and displaying several distinct forms. The 5S rDNA was located by PRINS on three pairs of subtelocentric chromosomes, additional minor signal was present at the centromere of one metacentric element. 5S sites were not associated with NORs. The dosage compensation mechanism was proposed as an explanation of high frequency of lethal rDNA-deleted forms of the NOR-bearing chromosomes. Double variable pattern in the number and location of NORs supported the bi-directional evolution of salmonid rDNA loci.  相似文献

Survival rates of both early and middle instar larvae of the nymphalid butterfly, Sasakia charonda, were estimated to be lowest on test trees planted in a meadow (site A), intermediate in a small, narrow secondary deciduous broadleaf forest (small patch, site B) and highest in a large secondary deciduous broadleaf forest (large forest, site C). The larval mortality rates due to predation by tree-climbing predators from the ground (tree climbing predator) such as ants and the larvae of carabids were estimated to be greater at sites A and B than those at site C. The number of predatory ants climbing test trees was significantly greater at sites A and B than at site C, and the ants harvested honeydew from aphids living on tree leaves at those two sites. Aphid densities were significantly higher on trees at sites A and B than at site C, and aphid densities and numbers of predatory ants were significantly and positively correlated at sites A and B. In an experiment controlling aphid density per branch on test trees, the numbers of ants and the mortality rates of S. charonda larvae were greater on branches with high aphid densities than on those with low aphid densities at both sites A and B. These results suggest that the aphid density per host tree was higher in the meadow and the small patch than in the large forest; at both sites these higher aphid densities attracted higher numbers of predatory ants to test trees, and as a result, mortality rates of S. charonda larvae were increased.  相似文献

A small irrigation diversion dam near Chiloquin, Oregon, was removed and replaced with a pump station to improve fish passage for Lost River suckers (Deltistes luxatus) and shortnose suckers (Chasmistes brevirostris) entering the Sprague River on their spawning migrations. During the developmental phase of the pump station, a need was identified to better understand the larval drift characteristics of these endangered catostomids in order to reduce entrainment into the irrigation system. The spatial, seasonal, and diel distribution of drifting larvae was measured during the 2004 spawning season at two proposed sites on the Williamson River where the pump station could be located. Larval drift for both species coincided with the irrigation season making them subject to entrainment into the irrigation system. Drift occurred almost exclusively at night with larvae entering the drift at sunset and exiting the drift at sunrise. Nighttime larval densities were concentrated near the surface and at midchannel at both sites. Densities were generally greater on the side of mid-channel with greater flow. During early morning sampling we detected a general shift in larval drift from surface to subsurface drift. We also observed an increase in larval densities towards the shore opposite from the proposed pump station at the upper site whereas larval densities remained high at midchannel at the lower site. During daytime sampling, the few larvae that were collected were distributed throughout the water column at both pump sites. This study found that larvae drifting during all time periods were generally distributed further across the cross section, deeper in the water column, and closer to where the proposed water withdrawal structure would be built at the downstream site when compared to the upstream site. Recommendations were provided to locate the withdrawal facility at the upstream site and operate it in a manner such that larval entrainment would likely be minimized.  相似文献

2014年11—12月和2015年4月,采用样方法对新疆乌伦古河流域冷季和暖季早期蒙新河狸(Castor fiber birulai)巢穴特征和巢址生境选择进行了调查研究。确定冷季160个蒙新河狸巢穴和暖季早期158个蒙新河狸巢穴,其中61个地面巢平均长(2.54±1.69)m,宽(1.68±0.91)m,高(0.54±0.32)m。与冷季相比,暖季早期蒙新河狸利用的巢穴生境具有河宽、水域面积、水深和植物郁闭度较大,河岸坡度较小的特征,是由季节更替导致的温度等气候变化引起的,而在其他生态因子选择上无差异(P0.05)。以冷季为例,蒙新河狸巢址生境选择特征表现为:(1)地理分布因子:海拔1000m,临近水域河岸1.0m、坡度75°、水深1.0m、河面宽度和面积适中;(2)隐蔽因子:巢穴隐蔽级较高,附近的植物特征(郁闭度高,乔木密度大、灌木密度低以及高度低)也辅助实现了较好的隐蔽性;(3)干扰因子:巢穴位置选择最近公路或居民点的河流异侧;(4)食物因子:巢穴多选择在密度较高的柳树林中,且距离冬季食物堆较近。建议:寻找适合蒙新河狸生存的其他潜在生境;减少在蒙新河狸生活流域修建水坝,或者在其附近修建蒙新河狸迁徙通道;加强蒙新河狸分布区的保护管理。  相似文献

Food uptake ofDreissena polymorpha from two shallow water sites and one site at a 9 m depth in lakes was monitored over the course of 1 1/2 years. Feeding was characterized by the filtration capacity and ingestion capacity (i.e. the unrestricted maximum rates) at ambient temperature. The available food was estimated as seston dry weight, as seston ash free dry weight and as seston volume (sum of the volumes of the particles in the water column). The filtration capacity and ingestion capacity varied strongly during the course of the year by more than 1:10, with maximum values during late spring and early summer. The filtration capacity was correlated with water temperature, the ingestion capacity with temperature and seston concentration. However, at identical water temperatures both capacities were higher in spring than in autumn. At the 9 m site, filtration and ingestion capacity was also significantly influenced by lack of oxygen caused by stratification during summer. In the allometric equations by which both capacities (C) were related to body weightW (C=a W b ), an exponent b of 0.89±0.14 (mean±95% confidence interval) was calculated for the filtration capacity and 1.00±0.18 for the ingestion capacity. Both exponents did not vary significantly during the course of the year. The seasonal trend of the incipient limiting concentration (i.e. the seston concentration at which the intestine is filled to its capacity when the animal filters at maximum rate) was less pronounced. It showed a significantly positive correlation with seston concentration and a negative correlation with temperature. Except during the spring bloom, the incipient limiting concentration was in the range of the seston volume registered at the sites. Gross growth efficiencies were highly variable. An annual average between 5 and 20% was calculated. Growth efficiencies were lower at the shallow water sites with the highest seston concentrations.  相似文献

The macroinvertebrate communities of 16 karst springs in the Southern Limestone Alps (Slovenia, SE Europe), were studied from May to September 1999, together with the major chemical parameters of the water and selected physical characteristics of the springs. The springs are located in an area of 800 km2, between 410 and 955 m a.s.l., and drain into two rivers whose catchments are separated by mountain ranges up to 2864 m. The Soča river drains into the Adriatic Sea and the Sava into the Black Sea. Springs showed relatively large fluctuations in discharge and small variations in temperature (normally about 1 °C) during the period of study. Seventy macroinvertebrate taxa were collected. Chironomidae (Diptera), Limnephilidae (Trichoptera), Enchytraeidae (Oligochaeta), Tricladida (Turbellaria) and Belgrandiella kuesteri (Gastropoda) were the most widespread taxa, collected from the majority of sampling sites. The environmental characteristics showed a great heterogeneity, and there was a large variation in the taxonomic composition and relative abundance of taxa between springs and during seasons. The coexistence of taxa with highly divergent ecological requirements is characteristic of the spring communities studied. They range from stygobionts and spring-restricted species to ubiquitous species. The differences observed in spring fauna in the two river catchments were probably dictated by differences in local environmental parameters and not by the geographical location in the different river catchments.  相似文献

Mile-a-minute weed, Persicaria perfoliata (L.) H. Gross (Polygonaceae), is an annual vine from Asia that has invaded the eastern US where it can form dense monocultures and outcompete other vegetation in a variety of habitats. The host-specific Asian weevil Rhinoncomimus latipes Korotyaev (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) was first released in the US in 2004 as part of a classical biological control program. The weevil was intensively monitored in three release arrays over 4 years, and field cages at each site were used to determine the number of generations produced. The weevil established at all three sites and produced three to four generations before entering a reproductive diapause in late summer. Weevils dispersed at an average rate of 1.5–2.9 m wk−1 through the 50 m diameter arrays, which had fairly contiguous mile-a-minute cover. Weevils dispersing in the broader, more variable landscape located both large monocultures and small isolated patches of mile-a-minute 600–760 m from the release within 14 months. Weevil density ranged from fewer than 10 to nearly 200 weevils m−2 mile-a-minute weed. Mile-a-minute cover decreased at the site with the highest weevil density. The production of P. perfoliata seed clusters decreased with increasing weevil populations at two sites, and seedling production declined over time at two sites by 75% and 87%. The ability of the weevil to establish, produce multiple generations per season, disperse to new patches, and likelihood of having an impact on plants in the field suggests that R. latipes has the potential to be a successful biological control agent.  相似文献

Summary The water relations of Picea abies in a healthy stand with green trees only and a declining stand with trees showing different stages of needle yellowing were investigated in northern Bavaria. The present study is based on observations of trees differing in their nutritional status but apparently green on both sites in order to identify changes in the response pattern which might be caused by atmospheric concentrations of air pollutants and could lead to the phenomenon of decline. Transpiration was measured as water flow through the hydroactive xylem using an equilibrium mass-flow measurement system. Total tree transpiration was monitored diurnally, from July 1985 until October 1985 at both sites. The relationship between transpiration and meteorological measurements indicated that transpiration was a linear function of the vapor pressure deficit. No differences in transpiration of green trees were observed between the two sites. Canopy transpiration was 57%–68% of total throughfall and 41%–54% of total rainfall. Due to this positive water balance, soil water potential at 10 and 20 cm depths remained close to-0.02 MPa (max.-0.09 MPa) for most of the summer. Soil water potential was correlated with the difference between the weekly precipitation and transpiration. No differences in the water relations of apparently healthy trees in the two P. abies stands were observed. It is concluded that differences between green trees at the two sites in terms of nutrient relations or growth rate cannot be explained by changes in whole-tree transpiration or soil water status.  相似文献

Survival, growth and hatching of brown trout Salmo trutta embryos were studied using in situ incubation experiments in two lake outlet streams in Finland. The experimental design in both streams included an outlet site and a reference site far downstream. The date of hatching was recorded and the Elliott–Hurley model was then used to predict the time of emergence based on water temperature. For data analyses, the incubation period was divided into 'winter' (from fertilization to mid March) and 'spring' (from mid March until the end of the experiment). Temperature of the large-lake outlet remained at 1° C through the winter, while in other sites temperature was close to 0° C. In spring, temperature increased more slowly in the large-lake outlet. The survival of embryos was overall very high, from 83 to 98%, and they were larger in the outlets than in the downstream sites. Embryos hatched at the large-lake outlet in March, and 3–5 weeks later in the other sites. Although there were considerable between-site differences in hatching intervals, difference in expected 50% emergence dates of the earliest and latest site was only 4 days. Thus, any growth advantage that the outlet embryos had in winter disappeared by the end of the alevin period. Lake outlets, however, may be important for age 0 year brown trout later during the summer when other stream habitats do not provide adequate food resources.  相似文献
