In the post-antibiotics era, prebiotics are proposed as alternatives to antibiotic growth promoters in poultry production. The goal of this study was to compare in ovo method of prebiotic delivery with in-water supplementation and with both methods combined (in ovo+in-water) in broiler chickens. Two trials were conducted. Trial 1 was carried out to optimize the doses of two prebiotics, DN (DiNovo®, extract of beta-glucans) and BI (Bi2tos, trans-galactooligosaccharides), for in ovo delivery. The estimated parameters were hatchability and bacteriological status of the newly hatched chicks. Prebiotics were dissolved in 0.2 ml of physiological saline, at the doses: 0.18, 0.88, 3.5 and 7.0 mg/embryo; control group (C) was injected in ovo with 0.2 ml of physiological saline. Trial 2 was conducted to evaluate effects of different prebiotics (DN, BI and raffinose family oligosaccharides (RFO)) delivered in ovo, in-water and in a combined way (in ovo+in-water) on broiler chickens performance. The results of the Trial 1 indicated that the optimal dose of DN and BI prebiotics delivered in ovo, that did not reduce chicks’ hatchability, was 0.88 mg/embryo (DN) and 3.5 mg/embryo (BI). Both prebiotics numerically increased number of lactobacilli and bifidobacteria in chicken feces (P>0.05). In Trial 2, all prebiotics (DN, BI and RFO) significantly increased BW gain compared with the C group (P<0.05), especially during the first 21 days of life. However, feed intake and feed conversion ratio were increased upon prebiotics delivery irrespective of method used. Injection of prebiotics in ovo combined with in-water supplementation did not express synergistic effects on broilers performance compared with in ovo injection only. Taken together, those results confirm that single in ovo prebiotics injection into the chicken embryo can successfully replace prolonged in-water supplementation post hatching.  相似文献

The aim of the investigation was to ascertain the influence of different doses of vitamin C injected at selected dates of incubation into the eggs of broiler breeders and Pekin ducks on hatchability. The injected vitamin C doses were administered into the air cell on the 13th, 15th and 17th days (3 and 6 mg--chickens) and on the 12th and 20th days (4 and 8 mg--ducks) of incubation. In the case of chickens, no significant differences were recorded between the control and experimental groups with regard to hatchability, although the highest value of hatchability from fertilized eggs was determined in the group injected with 6 mg of vitamin C on the 15th day of incubation. On the other hand, in ducks, significant differences were found between the control and experimental groups (4 mg of vitamin C administered on days 12 and 20 and 8 mg of vitamin C injected on day 20 of incubation) regarding hatchability. The value of this trait was higher in the group of eggs injected with ascorbic acid in comparison with the eggs which were not treated. On average, the difference amounted to 32.5 percentage points. Similarly, in the case of the number of dead embryos and unhatched chicks, better results were observed in the above-mentioned experimental groups. In summary, vitamin C injected into chicken eggs failed to influence hatchability. In the case of duck eggs, it was demonstrated that their injection on the 20th day of incubation with selected doses of vitamin C (4 and 8 mg/egg) improved hatchability by decreasing the proportions of dead and unhatched embryos.  相似文献

This study designed to determine effect of in ovo feeding of folic acid on subsequent growth performance and blood constituents levels in broilers. A total of 1000 fertile broiler eggs were divided into four groups. Control group (1) received no injection. In group 2, eggs received in ovo feeding of distiller water (40 µg). Group 3 received in ovo feeding of folic acid (40 µg). Groups 4 and 5 were similar to Group 3, except eggs injected with 80 and 120 µg of folic acid. All eggs were incubated and after hatch chickens were randomly assigned into their experimental groups. On days 1 and 42 post-hatch, chicken randomly selected and blood constituents, carcass characteristics, food intake, body weight gain and food conversion ratio were determined. According to the results, no significant difference detected on hatchability rate of the in ovo injected eggs (P?>?0.05). Dose dependent increase observed in glucose and folic acid levels in chicken in ovo injected with folic acid on day 1 post hatch (P?=?0.001). Blood glucose, folic acid and phosphorous levels increased (P?=?0.001) while cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL and LDL, calcium and alkaline phosphatase decreased in ovo injected with folic acid on day 42 post hatch (P?=?0.001). Food conversion ratio increased by in ovo injection of the folic acid (P?=?0.001). These results suggest folic acid had positive effects in broiler chicken.  相似文献

Raffinose family oligosaccharides (RFOs) fulfil multiple functions in plants. In seeds, they possibly protect cellular structures during desiccation and constitute carbon reserves for early germination. Their biosynthesis proceeds by the transfer of galactose units from galactinol to sucrose. Galactinol synthase (GolS), which mediates the synthesis of galactinol from myo-inositol and UDP-galactose, has been proposed to be the key enzyme of the pathway. However, no significant relationship was detected between the extractable GolS activity and the amount of RFOs in seeds from seven pea (Pisum sativum L.) genotypes selected for high variation in RFO content. Instead, a highly significant correlation was found between the levels of myo-inositol and RFOs. Moderately strong relationships were also found between sucrose and RFO content as well as between myo-inositol and galactinol. Further evidence for a key role of myo-inositol for the synthesis of galactinol was obtained by feeding exogenous myo-inositol to intact pea seeds and by the analysis of four barley (Hordeum vulgare L.) low phytic acid mutants. In seeds of three of these mutants, the reduced demand for myo-inositol for the synthesis of phytic acid (myo-inositol 1,2,3,4,5,6-hexakisphosphate) was associated with an increased level in myo-inositol. The mutants seeds also contained more galactinol than wild-type seeds. The results suggest that the extent of RFO accumulation is controlled by the levels of the initial substrates, myo-inositol and sucrose, rather than by GolS activity alone.  相似文献

Data from breeder hens and chicks are particularly critical for the development of vitamin B2 recommendations for organic poultry. To test safe thresholds of supplementation, 100 breeder hens (Hubbard JA 57 K) and ten cockerels were allocated to ten housing groups, with each receiving supplementation of either 4.0 (treatment CON) or 2.5 mg (treatment RED) riboflavin per kg feed. After 15 weeks of experimental feeding, 256 eggs were incubated. From the hatched chicks (Hubbard S757), 192 were allocated to four treatments based on their parents’ treatment (CON- or RED-) and on their own supplementation of either 4.0 (-CON) or 2.5 mg (-RED) riboflavin per kg feed. Two groups of each combination (CON-CON, CON-RED, RED-CON, RED-RED), each with 24 chicks of both sexes, were fattened for nine weeks and slaughtered. Analysis of total riboflavin (sum of native concentrations and supplements) in the parent’s feeds revealed an average, over the 15 weeks, of 7.8 and 5.8 mg per kg feed for CON and RED, respectively. Body weight, plumage integrity, gait appearance, footpad, claw and keel bone integrity, lesion scores, laying performance, and egg mass were found to be of similarly high levels for all hens without any treatment effects. Performance traits of the hens in both treatments reached the specifications of the producer for this genotype. Yolk and albumen riboflavin concentrations were not affected although yolk colour in the RED treatment group became darker. Fertility was not affected, and hatchability was 100 per cent. Total riboflavin concentrations in the broiler diets were on average, over 9 weeks, 8.2 and 6.1 mg/kg for CON and RED, respectively. In chicks, RED treatment of their parents led to significant depressions of feed intake and growth. The RED treatment of the chicks themselves also impaired growth. Growth rates of the CON-CON treatment were in line with the specifications of the producer for this genotype. Plumage scores, footpad integrity and walking appearance of the broilers, and dressing percentage of the carcasses were not affected by treatment. The RED treatment of chicks caused lower spleen and heart weights, while pancreas and liver weights, and liver riboflavin concentrations were not affected. In conclusion, supplementation of 4.0 mg/kg to organic diets did not evoke any health or performance problems for breeder hens or broiler chicks, while a supplementation level of 2.5 mg per kg feed led to reduced weight gains, although without any other riboflavin deficiency symptoms.  相似文献

Seed vigour is important for successful establishment and high yield, especially under suboptimal environmental conditions. In legumes, raffinose oligosaccharide family (RFO) sugars have been proposed as an easily available energy reserve for seedling establishment. In this study, we investigated whether the composition or amount of soluble sugars (sucrose and RFO) is part of the genetic determinants of seed vigour of Medicago truncatula using two recombinant inbred line (RIL) populations. Quantitative trait loci (QTL) mapping for germination rate, hypocotyl and radicle growth under water deficit and nutritional stress, seed weight and soluble sugar content was performed using RIL populations LR1 and LR4. Seven of the 12 chromosomal regions containing QTL for germination rate or post-germinative radicle growth under optimal or stress conditions co-located with Suc/RFO QTL. A significant negative correlation was also found between seed vigour traits and Suc/RFO. In addition, one QTL that explained 80% of the variation in the ratio stachyose/verbascose co-located with a stachyose synthase gene whose expression profile in the parental lines could explain the variation in oligosaccharide composition. The correlation and co-location of Suc/RFO ratio with germination and radicle growth QTL suggest that an increased Suc/RFO ratio in seeds of M. truncatula might negatively affect seed vigour.  相似文献

Older breeder flocks produce eggs with a relatively larger yolk and thereby a higher nutrient availability than young breeder flocks. To optimise nutrient utilisation and embryonic development throughout incubation and posthatch period, embryos originating from older breeder flocks may require a higher oxygen availability. The current study investigated effects of broiler breeder flock age and incubational oxygen concentration on embryonic metabolism and chicken development until 7-day posthatch. Similar sized eggs of a young (28–32 week) or old (55–59 week) Cobb 500 breeder flock were incubated at one of three oxygen concentrations (17%, 21% or 25%) from day 7 of incubation until 6 h after emergence from the eggshell. Posthatch, chickens were reared until 7 days of age. Egg composition at the start of incubation, heat production during incubation, and embryo or chicken development at embryonic day (ED)14 and ED18 of incubation, 6 h after hatch and day 7 posthatch were evaluated. An interaction was found between breeder age and oxygen concentration for yolk-free body mass (YFBM) at ED18. A higher oxygen concentration increased YFBM in the old breeder flock, whereas no difference was found between 21 and 25% oxygen in the young breeder flock. Yolk size was larger in the old compared to the young flock from ED0 until 6 h after hatch. Breeder flock age did not affect YFBM at ED14 and 6 h after hatch nor daily embryonic heat production, but there were some effects on relative organ weights. Chickens of the old compared to the young breeder flock showed a higher weight gain at day 7, but at a similar feed conversion ratio (FCR). A higher oxygen concentration during incubation stimulated embryonic development, especially between 17% and 21% of oxygen, in both flock ages. Although this growth advantage disappeared at 7 days posthatch, a low oxygen concentration during incubation resulted in a higher FCR at 7 days posthatch. Results indicated that breeder flock age seemed to influence body development, with an advantage for the older breeder flock during the posthatch period. Oxygen concentrations during incubation affected body development during incubation and FCR in the first 7 days posthatch. Although an interaction was found between breeder flock age and oxygen concentration at ED18 of incubation, there was no strong evidence that nutrient availability at the start of incubation (represented by breeder flock ages) affected embryo and chicken development at a higher oxygen concentration.  相似文献

The effects of aflatoxin on egg production, fertility, hatchability, and progeny performance were investigated by feeding dietary aflatoxin at dose levels of 0,5, and 10 mug/g to mature broiler breeder hens for 4 weeks. Sixteen hens were used for each dietary dose level. Egg production decreased significantly during weeks 3 and 4 after initiation of toxin feeding for hens fed 10 and 5 mum of aflatoxin per g of diet respectively. Whereas fertility was not affected by dietary aflatoxin, hatchability of fertile eggs decreased significantly within week 1 of toxin feeding. Hatchability of fertile eggs collected during week 1 of the treatment period was 95.1, 68.9, and 48.5% for the control, 5- and 10-mug/g groups, respectively. At the dose levels used in this study, no latent effects of the aflatoxin or its metabolites were observed on the performance of surviving chicks. Six hens from each experimental groups were necropsied at the end of the 4-week treatment period. These birds exhibited typical symptoms of aflatoxicosis, including enlarged, fatty and friable livers, and enlarged spleens.  相似文献

Copper sulfate can cause different pathologies in different organ systems during development. We determined the effects of toxic levels of copper sulfate on brain development in term Hubbard broiler chicks using stereological and biochemical analyses. Hubbard broiler chicken eggs were divided into three groups: controls with no treatment, sham-treated animals and an experimental group. On day 1, 0.1 ml saline was injected into the air chambers of the sham and experimental groups. The experimental group received also 50 μg copper sulfate. At term (day 21), all chick brains were removed and their volumes were determined using the Cavalieri volume estimation. Parallel biochemical analyses were carried out for glutathione and malondialdehyde levels in the brain tissues as indicators of oxidative damage. With copper treatment, the mean brain volume (8079 μm3) was significantly decreased compared to both the control (10075 μm3) and sham (9547 μm3) groups. Copper treatment (143.8 nmol/g tissue) showed significantly decreased malondialdehyde levels compared to the control (293.6 nmol/g tissue) and sham groups (268.8 nmol/g tissue). Copper treatment (404.5 nmol/g tissue) showed significantly increased malondialdehyde levels compared to the control (158.6 nmol/g tissue) and sham (142.8 nmol/g tissue) groups. The morphological and biochemical parameters we measured demonstrated that in term Hubbard broiler chicks, toxic levels of copper sulfate cause developmental and oxidative brain damage.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effects of Fadrozole hydrochloride and recombinant human insulin-like growth factor I (rhIGF-I) on female-to-male sex reversal, hatching traits, and body weight of broiler chickens. On the third day of incubation, fertile eggs were randomly assigned to five experimental groups comprising (i) Fadrozole (0.1 mg/egg), (ii) rhIGF-I (100 ng/egg), (iii) Fadrozole (0.1 mg/egg) + rhIGF-I (100 ng/egg), (iv) vehicle injection (10 mM acetic acid and 0.1% BSA), and (v) non-injected eggs. Eggs in the rhIGF-I-injected groups showed the mode of hatching time at the 480th hour of incubation, 12 hours earlier compared to the other groups, with no statistically significant difference in mortality and hatchability. On Day 1 and 42 of production, 90% of genetically female chicks were masculinized using Fadrozole treatment, while 100% female-to-male phenotypic sex reversal was observed in the Fadrozole+rhIGF-I group. Fadrozole equalized the body weight of both genders, although rhIGF-I was effective on the body weight of male chicks only. Interestingly, combined rhIGF-I and Fadrozole could increase the body weight in both sexes compared to the individual injections (P<0.05). These findings revealed that (i) IGF-I-treated chicken embryos were shown to be an effective option for overcoming the very long chicken deprivation period, (ii) the simultaneous treatment with Fadrozole and IGF-I could maximize the female-to-male sex reversal chance, (iii) the increase in the body weight of masculinized chickens via Fadrozole could be equal to their genetically male counterparts, and (iv) the IGF-I effectiveness, specifically along with the application of aromatase inhibitors in female chicks, indicates that estrogen synthesis could be a stumbling block for the IGF-I action mechanism in female embryos.  相似文献

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) is a precursor of the adrenocorticosteroid hormones that are common to all animals, including poultry. The study described herein was undertaken to investigate the effect of DHEA on lipid metabolism in broiler chickens during embryonic development and to determine the regulatory mechanisms involved in its physiological action. Treatment group eggs were injected with 50 mg DHEA diluted in 50 μL dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) per kg, while control group eggs (arbor acres [AA] fertilized) were injected with 50 μL DMSO per kg prior to incubation. Liver samples were collected on days 9, 14 and 19 of embryonic development as well as at hatching. Extracted proteins were analyzed by two dimensional gel electrophoresis (2-DE) in combination with western blotting for specific anti-phosphotyrosine. The differential spots were identified by matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-time of flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS) or MALDI-TOF-TOF-MS. Peptide mass fingerprinting (PMF) of the differentially-expressed proteins were performed using the MASCOT, Prospector or proFound server. Thirty-seven proteins and twenty-two tyrosine phosphorylation proteins were successfully identified. All 37 proteins and 22 tyrosine phosphorylation proteins exhibited a significant volume difference from the control group. These results demonstrated that DHEA increased the expression and level of tyrosine phosphorylation and sulfotransferase proteins in broilers (at pI 5.9), therefore promoting the biotransformation of DHEA. The expression of apolipoproteinA-I was increased in the DHEA treatment group, which facilitated the conversion of cholesterol to cholesterol esters. Also, DHEA increased the expression of peroxiredoxin-6 and its tyrosine phosphorylation protein levels, thus enhancing its anti-oxidative activity. Furthermore, pyruvate dehydrogenase expression was decreased and the level of its tyrosine phosphorylation proteins increased in the DHEA treatment group. Take together, those data indicate that DHEA reduces the supply of acetyl-CoA by inhibiting the activity of its target enzyme (i.e. pyruvate dehydrogenase), thus affecting both protein synthesis and phosphorylation level and decreasing fat deposition in broiler chickens during embryonic development, which could reflect a physiologically-relevant DHEA fat-reduction mechanism in the broiler chicken.  相似文献

Caffeine is one of the most frequently consumed psychoactive substances. It has been known for many years that caffeine at high concentrations exerts harmful effects on both women's and laboratory animals' fertility, moreover it may impair normal development of many organs in the prenatal period. So far there have been few studies performed that demonstrate teratogenic effects of caffeine on structures of the developing eye, particularly the cornea. The aim of the study was to show ultrastructural changes in the developing cornea, as the effect of caffeine administration to chicken embryos. The experimental materials were 26 chicken embryos from incubated breeding eggs. Eggs were divided into two groups: control (n=30) in which Ringer liquid was administrated, and experimental (n=30) in which teratogenic dose of caffeine 3.5mg/egg was given. In 36th hour of incubation solutions were given with cannula through hole in an egg shell directly onto amniotic membrane. After closing the hole with a glass plate and paraffine, eggs were put back to incubator. In 10th and 19th day of incubation corneas were taken for morphological analysis with a use of electron microscopy. Administration of caffeine during chicken development causes changes of collagen fibers of Bowman's membrane patterns and of the corneal stroma but it also changes proportion of amount of collagen fibers and of the stromal cells.  相似文献

Egg storage longer than 7 days is associated with negative effects on hatchability traits. Pre-storage incubation has been a suggested method to reduce the negative effects of long-term storage times by enhancing the developmental stage of the embryo and probably reducing the embryonic stress. The objective of the present study was to investigate the effects of pre-storage incubation and storage time on hatchability characteristics, chick quality and serum thyroid hormones, antioxidative properties and immunoglobulin Y (IgY) concentrations of newly hatched chicks at two breeder flock ages. A total of 8000 fertile eggs were obtained from two different ages of chicken breeder hens (Egyptian local cross, Inshas). Half of the eggs were collected from young breeder hens (28 weeks old) and the other half from old breeder hens (50 weeks old). In each breeder flock age, eggs were distributed in a completely randomized experimental design in a 2×4 factorial arrangement, with two storage periods (4 or 14 days) and four pre-storage incubation durations (0, 4, 6 or 8 h at 37.5°C). At 28 and 50 weeks of age, pre-storage incubation and its interaction with storage period influenced significantly the apparent fertility, hatchability of set eggs and hatchability of fertile eggs and this improvement in hatchability is attributed to the reduction in embryonic mortality (early, intermediate and late). Pre-storage incubation for 6 or 8 h elevated significantly the grade A chicks and reduced the grade B chicks in comparison with non-heated controls. Interestingly, for eggs stored for 14 days, pre-storage incubation for 6 or 8 h enhanced serum triiodothyronine, thyroxine, glutathione peroxidase activity, total antioxidant capacity and IgY concentrations significantly and decreased serum malondialdehyde concentration significantly in the newly hatched chicks. It could be concluded that pre-storage incubation enhanced the hatching results, improved the antioxidative properties, reduced lipid peroxidation and elevated the humoral immunity in the newly hatched chicks. Hence, several benefits might be gained by pre-storage incubation when fertilized eggs will be stored for long periods.  相似文献

The toxic effects of a widely used organophosphate insecticide (BI 58 EC containing 38% dimethoate as active ingredient) applied alone or in combination with cadmium sulphate modelling the heavy metal load of the environment were studied on chicken embryos in the early phase of development. Solutions and emulsions of different concentrations were made from the test materials and injected in 0.1 ml volume into the air space of eggs on the first day (day 0) of incubation. Subsequently, on days 2 and 3 of incubation permanent preparations were made from the embryos in order to study the early developmental stage. Embryos fixed on slides and stained with osmium tetroxide solution were studied under light microscope. Summarising the findings, it can be established that the embryotoxicity increased after the simultaneous administration of Cd-sulphate and 38% dimethoate containing insecticide formulation compared to the control or the individually treated groups.  相似文献

The initial eggs produced by broiler breeder hens are relatively small compared with later in the production cycle. An evaluation of indices related to hatchability is required when these eggs are to be used for the production of broiler chicks. Two experiments were conducted to evaluate characteristics related to the hatchability of eggs from pullet-to-breeder transition phase, at 25 and 27 weeks of age, and from the peak of production period and five weeks later, at 32 and 37 weeks of age. Eggs from birds 25 weeks had a lesser fertility in Experiment 1. Mortality occurred unevenly in early (1–5 days), middle (6–17 days) and late (18–21 days) incubation, and greater mortality was observed after the internal membrane was ruptured. The younger the hen, the lighter the egg, chick, and shell, and the longer the time required to complete the hatching process. In Experiment 2, greater mortalities were observed at the early period (1–5 days) and after “pipping” of the internal and external membranes. Embryos from heavy eggs of breeder hens 37 weeks of age took less time to complete the hatching process. Results indicated the larger the egg, the heavier the chick and shell, and the lesser the shell percentage. As breeder age advanced, characteristics related to egg fertility and hatchability improved.  相似文献

Cut sweet pea flowers were put in vase water containing 200 mg l–1 8-hydroxyquinoline sulfate (HQS), and 100 g l–1 sucrose was added to the solution during the first 24 h (initial treatment), from the 24th h on (late treatment) or throughout the experimental period (continuous treatment). The vase life of the florets in the control (with no sucrose added), initial-, late-, and continuous-treatment groups were 2.8, 6.0, 5.0 and 8.0 days, respectively. Climacteric ethylene production of the florets was the earliest in the control group followed by the late-, initial- and continuous-treatment groups, in this order. The concentrations of glucose, fructose and s ucrose at the 2nd day and later were the highest in the continuous-treatment group followed by the initial-treatment, late-treatment and control group, in this order. Thus, the correlation between sugar concentrations in petals and vase life was positive, whereas that between the sugar concentrations and ethylene production was negative. These results suggest that sugar concentration in petals affects the vase life of cut sweet pea flowers through ethylene production.  相似文献

Ajuga reptans is a frost-hardy, perennial labiate that is known for its high content of raffinose family oligosaccharide(s) (RFO). Seasonal variations in soluble nonstructural carbohydrate levels in above-ground parts of Ajuga showed that the RFO were by far the most predominant components throughout the whole year. RFO were lowest in summer (75 mg/g fresh weight) and highest in fall/winter (200 mg/g fresh weight), whereas sucrose and starch were only minor components. Cold treatment (14 d at 10/3[deg]C, day/night) of plants that were precultivated under warm conditions (25[deg]C) lowered the temperature optimum of net photosynthesis from 16[deg] to 8[deg]C, decreased the maximum rate, and increased the total nonstructural carbohydrate content of leaves by a factor of about 10, mainly because of an increase of RFO. The degree of polymerization of the RFO increased sequentially up to at least 15. A novel, galactinol-independent galactosyltransferase enzyme was found, forming from two molecules of RFO, the next higher and lower degree of polymerization of RFO. The enzyme had a pH optimum of 4.5 to 5.0 and may be responsible for RFO chain elongation. RFO were the main carbohydrates translocated in the phloem, with stachyose being by far the most dominant form. Studies of carbon balance during leaf development revealed a transition point between import and export at approximately 25% maximal leaf area. RFO synthesis could be detected even before the commencement of export, suggesting the existence of a nonphloem-linked RFO pool even in very young leaves. Taken together, it seems that Ajuga leaves contain two pools of RFO metabolism, a pronounced long-term storage pool in the mesophyll, possibly also involved in frost resistance, and a transport pool in the phloem.  相似文献

The present study examined the impacts of native, fermented or enzymatically treated peas (Pisum sativum L.) inclusion in broiler diets, on growth performance and nutrient digestibility. For the fermentation process, Madonna pea was mixed with water (1/1) containing 2.57×108 Bacillus subtilis (GalliPro®) spores/kg pea and then, incubated for 48 h at 30 °C. For the enzymatic treatment process, the used water for dough production contained three enzymes, AlphaGalTM (α-galactosidase), RONOZYME® ProAct and VP (protease and pectinases respectively – DSM, Switzerland) and the pea dough incubated for 24 h at 30°C. Nine corn-wheat-soybean diets were formulated by supplying 10%, 20% and 30% of the required CP with either native, fermented or enzymatically treated peas. Performance was recorded weekly and at the end of the experiment (day 35), apparent ileal digestibility (AID) of CP, amino acids (AA), crude fat, starch, Ca, P and K were determined. Data were subjected to ANOVA using GLM procedure with a 3×3 factorial arrangement of treatments. Both processes reduced α-galactosides, phytate, trypsin inhibitor activity and resistant starch in peas. Increasing levels of pea products up to 300 g/kg diet, reduced BW gain and feed intake (P⩽0.05). Broilers fed diets containing enzymatically treated pea had the best feed conversion ratio at day 35. Different types of pea product and their inclusion levels had no effect on AID of all nutrients. The interaction between type of the pea products and inclusion levels was significant for AID of starch. For native pea diets, 10% group showed similar AID of starch to 20% native pea but it had higher AID than 30% native pea. For fermented and enzymatically treated groups, all three levels displayed similar AID of starch. In conclusion, enzymatic treatment and fermentation could improve the nutritional quality of pea. Inclusion of enzymatically treated pea in broiler diets could improve broiler performance compared with other pea products while, it displayed neither positive nor negative impact on nutrient digestibility. The present findings indicate the feasibility of these processes, particularly enzymatic treatment, for improving the nutritional quality of pea as a protein source for broiler nutrition.  相似文献

Three new MHC haplotypes in broiler breeder chickens   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7
Six distinct serotypes of the chicken B blood group system (which encodes the major histocompatibility complex) were identified in a commercial broiler breeder line (Line C). The B serotypes were compared by B-G restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) analysis, allele-specific PCR typing test for B-LBII family genes and nucleotide sequence analysis of expressed B-F and B-LBII family genes. The results indicated the existence of seven distinct B haplotypes. Nucleotide sequence analysis demonstrated that three of the Line C haplotypes encode new B-F and B-LB alleles.  相似文献
