Changes in total nitrogen and free amino acid contents in stemcuttings of Morus alba have been studied. The fresh and dryweights and total nitrogen amounts of the parent stems of cuttingsdecreased initially after cutting. Their increase follows theformation of main roots in cuttings, suggesting that, like carbohydrates, sugars and starch, stored nitrogenous substances are used forsprouting and rooting of cuttings. Amino acids found in stems, roots and shoots are those common in other higher plants withthe exception of pipecolic acid and 5-hydroxypipecolic acid.Significant changes in the levels of asparagine, proline, arginine,-aminobutyric acid and alanine in roots, bark and wood of parentstems were observed during cutting growth, whereas those ofother amino acids remained comparatively constant; the mostpredominant amino acid in the starting materials was proline.while that in the cuttings during growth was asparagine. Theresults suggest that, among free amino acids, asparagine, prolineand arginine play the major part in storage of nitrogen in mulberry. The importance of glut-amine and asparagine in nitrogen metabolismin mulberry has been discussed.  相似文献

Aims

This study aimed to identify amino acids that could act as chelators in enhancing absorption and translocation capabilities of a rare earth element (REE) lanthanum and yttrium in a non-hyperaccumulator plant.

Methods

We analysed correlations between amino acid, La and Y concentrations in xylem saps of the REE hyperaccumulator Phytolacca americana L., to identify functional amino acids in long-distance transportation processes. These were used as chelators to observe the efficacy of La uptake and translocation in REE non-hyperaccumulator tomato seedlings. Pot culture experiments were conducted using modified Hoagland solution artificially contaminated with REEs.

Results

Eighteen xylem sap amino acids were identified and measured in the xylem sap, using reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography. Aspartic acid, asparagine, histidine and glutamic acid may be related to xylem La and Y long-distance transportion in P. americana L. Extraneous aspartic acid, asparagine, histidine and glutamic acid enhanced La absorption in the whole tomato, compared with La alone. Moreover, the whole tomato La content increased by 449 μg and 139 μg in the presence of aspartic acid and asparagine as compared to P. americana L. Tryptophan insignificantly affected La uptake and translocation in tomato seedlings.

Conclusions

Aspartic acid and asparagine could potentially promote remediation of La contamination in soil when used as a chelator.  相似文献

Effects of external nitrogen supply on quantity and activityof ribulose 1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase (RuBPCase) in mulberryleaves (Morus alba L. cv. Shin-ichinose) were examined. PhotosyntheticCO2 fixation and the contents of chlorophyll and phosphoruswere increased by the increased N supply. RuBPCase-protein concentrationand its proportion to total soluble-protein or to total-N rosecorrespondingly as the N supply increased. Specific enzyme activityexpressed on a RuBPCase protein basis was not affected by theN supply. Morus alba L. (mulberry), N nutrition, RuBPCase protein content, photosynthesis  相似文献

Amino compounds representative of the major N solutes of xylem sap were pulse-fed (10 to 20 minutes) singly in 14C-labeled form to cut transpiring shoots of white lupin (Lupinus albus L.). 14C distribution was studied by autoradiography and radioassays of phloem sap, leaflet tissues, and shoot parts harvested at intervals after labeling. Primary distribution of N by xylem was simulated using a 20-minute labeling pulse followed by a 30-minute chase in unlabeled xylem sap. Shoots fed 14C-labeled asparagine, glutamine, valine, serine, or arginine showed intense labeling of leaflet veins and marked retention (35 to 78%) of 14C by stem + petioles. Shoots fed 14C-labeled aspartic acid or glutamic acid showed heaviest 14C accumulation in interveinal regions of leaflets and low uptake (11 to 20%) of 14C by stem + petioles. Departing leaf traces were major sites of uptake of all amino compounds, and the implications of this were evaluated. Fruits acquired only 1 to 5% of the fed label directly from xylem, but more than doubled their intake during the period 30 to 160 minutes after feeding through receipt of 14C transferred from xylem to phloem in stem and leaves. 14C-Labeled asparagine and valine transferred directly from xylem to phloem, but the 14C of 14C-labeled aspartic acid and arginine appeared in phloem mainly as metabolic products of the fed compound. The labeling of the soluble pool of leaflets reflected these differences. The significance of heterogeneity in distribution and metabolism of xylem amino compounds in the shoot was discussed.  相似文献

Xylem sap composition was examined in nodulated and nonnodulated cowpea (Vigna unguiculata [L.] Walp.) plants receiving a range of levels of NO3 and in eight other ureide-forming legumes utilizing NO3 or N2 as sole source of nitrogen. A 15N dilution technique determined the proportions of plant nitrogen derived from N2 in the nodulated cowpeas fed NO3. Xylem sap composition of NO3-fed, nodulated cowpea varied predictably with the relative extents to which N2 and NO3 were being utilized. The ratios of asparagine to glutamine (N/N) and of NO3 to ureide (N/N) in xylem sap increased with increasing dependence on NO3 whereas per cent of xylem nitrogen as ureide and the ratio of ureide plus glutamine to asparagine plus NO3 (N/N) in xylem sap increased with increasing dependence on N2 fixation. The amounts of NO3 and ureides stored in leaflets, stems plus petioles, and roots of cowpea varied in a complex manner with level of NO3 and the presence or absence of N2 fixation. All species showed higher proportions of organic nitrogen as ureide and several-fold lower ratios of asparagine to glutamine in their xylem sap when relying on N2 than when utilizing NO3. In nodulated (minus nitrate) cowpea and mung bean (Vigna radiata [L.] Wilczek) the percentage of xylem nitrogen as ureide remained constant during growth but the ratio of asparagine to glutamine varied considerably. The biochemical significance of the above differences in xylem sap composition was discussed.  相似文献

There are conflicting reports in the literature of the possible role of the ureides, allantoin and allantoic acid, in the nitrogen economy of Arachis species. Therefore, xylem sap composition in food peanut ( Arachis hypogaea L.), and two forage peanuts ( A. pintoi L. and A. glabrata Benth.) has been studied in detail. Xylem saps were collected from peanuts grown under different nutritional regimes and environmental conditions in the glasshouse and field in Australia, Malaysia and Indonesia, and the N-containing solutes analysed. The relative amounts and concentrations of ureides in these peanut exudates were compared with those of soybean ( Glycine max [L.] Merr.) – a species known to export ureides in its xylem stream as the major product of N2 fixation.
Xylem concentrations of ureides in soybean were high in N2-fixing plants (2.9 to 3.7 μmol ml−1), representing 60 to 88% of xylem solute nitrogen, but it contributed only 9% (0.7 μmol ml−1) if plants were unnodulated and supplied nitrate. In all species of peanut, concentrations of ureides measured in xylem sap were generally much smaller (0.02 to 0.37 μmol ml−1; 1–7% of xylem nitrogen) and were unaffected by peanut species or cultivar, rhizobial strain, plant size, growth rate, or stage of development, and were not related to N2 fixation (less than 0.1% of currently fixed nitrogen exported as ureides) or the assimilation of nitrate. Apparently high levels of ureides in sap from some field-grown plants were shown to be due to interference with the ureide colorimetric assay by some contaminating compound rather than represent increased ureides per se.  相似文献

Summary Comparisons were made of the levels of various solutes in xylem (tracheal) sap and fruit tip phloem sap of Lupinus albus (L.) and Spartium junceum (L.). Sucrose was present at high concentration (up to 220 mg ml-1) in phloem but was absent from xylem whereas nitrate was detected in xylem (up to 0.14 mg ml-1) but not in phloem. Total amino acids reached 0.5–2.5 mg ml-1 (in xylem) versus 16–40 mg ml-1 in phloem. Phloem: xylem concentration ratios for mineral nutrients (K, Na, Mg, Ca, Fe, Zn, Mn, Cu) spanned the range 0.7 to 20, the ratios generally reflecting an element's phloem mobility and its availability to the xylem from the roots. The accessibility of nitrate to xylem and phloem was studied in Lupinus. Increasing the nitrate supply to roots from 100 to 1000 mg NO3–Nl-1 increased nitrate spill over into xylem, but nitrate always failed to appear in phloem. However, phloem loading of small amounts of nitrate was induced by feeding 750 or 1000 mg NO3–Nl-1 directly to cut shoots via the transpiration stream. Transfer of reduced nitrogen to phloem was demonstrated by feeding 15NO3 to shoots and recovering 15N-enriched amides and amino acids in phloem sap. Increased nitrate supply to roots led to increased amino acid levels in xylem and phloem but did not alter markedly the balance between individual amino acids. The fate of xylem-fed 14C-labelled asparagine, glutamine and aspartic acid and of photosynthetically fed 14CO2 was studied in Spartium, with reference to phloem transport to seeds. Substantial fractions of the 14C of all sources appeared in non-amino compounds. [14C]asparagine passed largely in unchanged form to the phloem whereas the 14C from aspartic acid or glutamine appeared in phloem attached to other amino acids (e.g. asparagine and glutamic acid). Serine, asparagine and glutamine were the main amino compounds labelled in phloem sap after feeding 14CO2. The wide distribution of 14C amongst free and bound amino acids of seeds suggested that extensive metabolism of phloem-borne solutes occurred in the fruits.  相似文献

Pulse-chase feeding (30-120 minutes) of 14C-labeled nitrogenous compounds to cut transpiring shoots was used to investigate the early fate of the major xylem-borne solutes in N2-fixing soybean (Glycine max) plants at the V4 growth stage. By comparison with the foliar distribution of [14C]inulin (a xylem marker), it was determined that the phloem supply of allantoin, allantoic acid, asparagine, glutamine, aspartate, and arginine, respectively, provided about 20, 10, three, two, five, and 20 times the 14C delivered to the developing trifoliolate in the xylem stream. Recovery of unmetabolized asparagine, aspartate, and arginine in this indicator trifoliolate, and significant declines in the percentage of 14C from allantoic acid and allantoin recovered in the first trifoliolate, provided some support for the direct xylem-to-phloem transfer of these compounds, but did not preclude the involvement of indirect transfer. Data on stem retention and foliar distribution, expressed as a function of the relative xylem sap composition, indicated that ureides provide the major sources of nitrogen to all plant parts. There was no consistent distinction in distribution patterns between pairs of similar anionic and neutral compounds. The extent of xylem-to-phloem transfer among the ureido or the amino compounds was inversely related to its prominence in xylem sap.  相似文献

Kouchi, H. and Higuchi, T. 1988. Carbon flow from nodulatedroots to the shoots of soybean {Glycine max L. Merr.) plants:An estimation of the contribution of current photosynthate toureides in the xylem stream.–J. exp. Bot. 39: 1015–1023. Well-nodulated, water-cultured soybean plants were allowed toassimilate 13CO2 at a constant specific activity for 10 h andthe 13C-labelling of total carbon and ureides in xylem sap wasinvestigated. Labelled carbon appeared very rapidly in the xylem stream. Percentageof labelled carbon (relative specific activity, RSA) in xylemsap was 18% at 2 h after the start of 13CO2 assimilation andreached 53% at the end of the 10 h assimilation. The amountof labelled carbon exported from nodulated roots to the shootsvia the xylem during the 10 h labelling period accounted for33% of total labelled carbon imported into the nodulated roots.Ureides (allantoin and allantoic acid) in xylem sap were stronglydependent on currently assimilated carbon. The RSA of ureidesin xylem sap had reached 83% at the end of the assimilationperiod. Labelled carbon in ureides accounted for 51% of totallabelled carbon returned from nodulated roots to the shootsvia the xylem during the 10 h assimilation period. A treatmentwith 20 mol m–3 nitrate in the culture medium for 2 ddecreased the ureide concentration in the xylem sap slightly, but greatly decreased the RSA of ureides. By comparing the data with the results of analysis of the xylemsap of nodule-detached plants, it was concluded that the majorityof labelled carbon exported to the xylem stream from noduleswas in ureide form. A considerable amount of carbon was alsoreturned from roots to shoots via the xylem stream but it wasmore dependent on (non-labelled) carbon reserved in the roottissues. Quantitative changes in the free amino acids, sugars and adeninenucleotides in the hardwood stems of mulberry plants (Morusalba L.) were followed during bud opening. Following this, thestarch and ATP content decreased rapidly. The value of the adenylateenergy charge, ATP+; ADP/ATP + ADP+AMP, or ATP/ADP ratio becamelower. Asparagine, proline and arginine existed prominentlyat the onset of budding. After budding, the content of prolineand asparagine decreased consecutively, but that of arginineincreased initially and then decreased. Thus, the fluctuationsin the carbohydrate and amino acids metabolism in the hardwoodstems caused by budding was characterized by a rapid decreasein energy and carbohydrates reserves, and a concurrent decreasein proline and asparagine. The conversion of asparagine to arginineis also presumed to have taken place at the same time. Morus alba, mulberry, amino acids, carbohydrates, adenine nucleotides  相似文献

Transport of nitrogen in the xylem of soybean plants   总被引:54,自引:37,他引:17       下载免费PDF全文
Experiments were conducted to characterize the distribution of N compounds in the xylem sap of nodulated and nonnodulated soybean plants through development and to determine the effects of exogenous N on the distribution of N compounds in the xylem. Xylem sap was collected from nodulated and nonnodulated greenhouse-grown soybean plants (Glycine max [L.] Merr. “Ransom”) from the vegetative phase to the pod-filling phase. The sum of the nitrogen in the amino acid, nitrate, ureide (allantoic acid and allantoin), and ammonium fractions of the sap from both types of plants agreed closely with total N as assayed by a Kjeldahl technique. Sap from nodulated plants supplied with N-free nutrient solution contained seasonal averages of 78 and 20% of the total N as ureide-N and amino acid-N, respectively. Sap from nonnodulated plants supplied with a 20 millimolar KNO3 nutrient solution contained seasonal averages of 6, 36, and 58% of total N as ureide-N, amino acid-N, and nitrate-N, respectively. Allantoic acid was the predominant ureide in the xylem sap and asparagine was the predominant amino acid. When well nodulated plants were supplied with 20 millimolar KNO3, beginning at 65 days, C2H2 reduction (N2 fixation) decreased relative to nontreated plants and there was a concomitant decrease in the ureide content of the sap. A positive correlation (r = 0.89) was found between the ureide levels in xylem sap and nodule dry weights when either exogenous nitrate-N or urea-N was supplied at 10 and 20 millimolar concentrations to inoculated plants. The results demonstrate that ureides play a dominant role in N transport in nodulated soybeans and that the synthesis of ureides is largely dependent upon nodulation and N2 fixation.  相似文献

Amino acid composition of xylem (tracheal) sap and ethanolicextracts of shoots of mistletoes (Amyema spp. and Lysiana casuarinae)and their hosts were compared, using material collected in theirnative habitats. Data indicated that certain host xylem soluteswere transferred directly to the parasite xylem, while otherswere either not absorbed or were metabolized prior to transfer.Certain solutes were major constituents of parasite xylem, butundetected or only in trace amount in the host. Shoot aminoacid pools of parasites differed markedly from those of hosts. The mistletoe, Amyema preissii, exhibited differential storageand transport of arginine when parasitizing three differentspecies, but accumulated proline on only two of these hosts.Host- specific amino acids (djenkolic acid in Acacia saligna, and tyramine in Acacia acuminata) were transported and accumulatedin relatively large amounts by the parasite, but were not detectedin other associations. Proline was the major solute of Amyemalinophyllum parasitizing Casuarina obesa, but arginine predominatedin Lysiana casuarinae on the same host. However, when L. csuarinaeparasitized A. linophyllum, in turn parasitic on C. obesa, theLysiana accumulated equal amounts of proline and arginine andmore asparagine than when directly on the Casuarina. Xylem feedingof 15N-labelled aspartic acid or 13N-(amide labelled) asparagineto cut shoots or whole haustoria-bearing plants of the mistletoeA. preissii resulted in 68–73% of the 15N of aspartateand 24–30% of that of asparagine appearing in ethanol-solubleshoot amino compounds other than the fed solute. 15N labellingpatterns of detached shoots were not noticeably different fromthat of whole plants suggesting that the haustorium had relativelylittle effect on processing incoming solutes. Alanine, glutamine, and arginine were principal recipients of 15N from aspartate, alanine and glutamine in the case of fed asparagine. It is estimatedthat 24% of the carbon requirements for dry matter accumulationin Amyema linophyllm were met by intake of xylem sap solutesfrom its host Casuarina obesa. Seedlings (180-d-old) of Casuarina cunninghamianaM L., C. equisetifoliaMiq. and C. glauca Sieber inoculated with each of two differentsources of Frankia, were analysed for translocated nitrogenouscompounds in xylem sap. Analyses were also made on sap fromnodulated and non-nodulated plants of C. glauca grown with orwithout a range of levels of combined nitrogen. Xylem exudateswere collected from stems, roots, and individual nodules ofnodulated plants and from stems and roots of non-nodulated plants. While the proportional composition of solutes varied, the samerange of amino compounds was found in xylem sap from the threedifferent symbioses. In C. glauca asparagine was the major aminoacid in the root sap followed by proline, while in symbioticC. cunninghamiana arginine accounted for more than 25% of theamino compounds. Citrulline was the major translocated productfound in the stem exudate of symbiotic C. equisetifolia. Increasingconcentrations of ammonium nitrate in the nutrient solutionresulted in increasing levels of free ammonia and glutaminein xylem sap from stems of nodulated and non-nodulated C. glauca, but there was relatively little change in the prominent solutes,e.g. citrulline, proline, and arginine. The composition of nitrogenoussolutes in stem or root exudates of C. glauca was similar tothat of exudate collected from individual nodules and on thisbasis it was not possible to distinguish specific products ofcurrent N2 fixation in xylem. The main differences in N solutecomposition between the symbioses were apparently due to hostplant effects rather than nodulation or the levels of combinedN. Also, the data indicate that the use of the proportion ofN in sap as citrulline (or indeed any other organic N solute)could not be used as an index of nitrogen fixation.  相似文献

Samples of tracheal sap of Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck cv. Washington Navel were taken from field trees throughout the year and the nitrogen composition of the sap was determined. The nitrogenous fraction of the sap was composed mainly of free amino acids (92–97% of total nitrogen) and nitrates throughout the year. Proline was the most abundant amino acid during almost the entire cycle, and its concentration was especially high during the autumn and winter period. Nevertheless, a significant part (40–60%) of the total organic nitrogen was transported as arginine. Total nitrogen as well as amino acids and nitrates were maximal at spring flush. At spring flush and summer flush there was also a diversification of α-amino nitrogen among different amino acids. During the spring flush, nitrates, asparagine and γ-aminobutyric acid in the xylem sap seemed to have a radicular origin, whereas glutamic acid and arginine were released from the surrounding parenchyma. The results suggest a metabolic transformation in the wood parenchyma of nitrogenous compounds coming from the roots (including reduction of nitrates) and a turnover of different nitrogen metabolites between the xylem and surrounding cells.  相似文献

Tomato plants were grown to the five-leaf stage under uniformconditions in a growth room with a daily light period of 15h. Plants were sampled at intervals through 24 h periods andthe free ninhydrin-positive compounds determined in roots, bleedingsap, stems and shoots (mainly leaves), using ion-exchange columnchromatography and a lithium-buffer separation system. The compoundspresent and their range of concentrations are given for twooccasions: after illumination for 8 hand after 5 h of darkness. Data for -aminobutyric acid (GAB), glutamic acid, glutamine, alanine, aspartic acid and ammonia are summarized graphicallyfor all occasions and for all parts of the plant; asparaginefor sap only. The data were examined for correlations betweenthese substances for both light and dark conditions. Relative amounts of free acids were: root glutamine> glutamicand GAB > aspartic > alanine; bleeding sap glutamine >asparagine > GAB > aspartic> alanine; stem glutamine> glutamic > GAB and aspartic > alanine; shoot (leaf)GAB and glutamine > aspartic > alanine and glutamic. Patternsof change were as follows: in the root GAB and glutamic weresimilar and unlike glutamine; alanine did not change;sap ammonia,GAB and alanine were parallel, glutamine was similar to theseonly in light; in the stem glutamine and glutamic tended toaccumulate in parallel in light, but GAB did not; in the shoot(leaf) GAB and glutamine were similar except that the formeraccumulated more rapidly in the initial light period; glutamicacid and alanine were similar to each other but distinct fromGAB and glutamine. The relatively large amounts of GAB in tomato plants and themagnitude of the changes occurring in light and darkness seemindicative of its importance as a temporary storage productfor protein amino acids, but the factors controlling accumulationand utilization in different parts of the plant are unknown.  相似文献

Tracheal sap was extracted from sections of stems (0.5 to 1.5 cm in diameter and 7.5 to 15.0 cm in length) of orange trees (Citrus sinensis (L.) Osbeck cv. Washington Navel) by using a combination of the vacuum and liquid displacement methods. The volume of sap obtained and its concentration of nitrogenous compounds were dependent on the volume of displacing liquid used for the extraction. Four ml of water-saturated 1-butanol extracted essentially all of the xylem fluid present in the stem sections without apparent production of artifacts. The time of sampling affected the nitrogen concentration of the tracheal sap, but not the content of xylem nitrogen per volume of stem material. The orientation of the stems in the tree and the diameter of the stems had an effect on their contents of xylem nitrogen, with southeastern orientation and thinner stems showing higher concentrations. We could not detect the presence of ammonium, nitrites or proteins in the tracheal sap of orange trees. Most of the nitrogen was present as amino acids and about 2% of the total in the form of nitrates. The qualitative composition of amino acids, as determined by TLC, was the same both in winter and spring tracheal sap. The main components of the sap were proline and arginine in winter, and these amino acids together with asparagine and aspartic acid in spring.  相似文献

The effects of medium nitrogen sources on the recalcitrant nature of Prosopis alba clone B2V50 in tissue culture were compared involving shoot development using axillary bud explants from 2 to 4-year-old greenhouse-grown trees. A significant difference (P<0.05) was found between the amino acids aspartic acid and glutamic acid and their corresponding amide-containing compounds asparagine and glutamine. A comparison between amide and ureide nitrogen sources showed that allantoin, a ureide, was an acceptable replacement for asparagine or glutamine. Allantoin, asparagine, and glutamine could be used as the sole nitrogen sources. Allantoin at a concentration of 20 mM was adopted for use in future research. Although shoots were consistently induced, all explants showed complete shoot-tip necrosis after 12 weeks of in vitro culture.  相似文献

The principal forms of amino nitrogen transported in xylem were studied in nodulated and non-nodulated peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.). In symbiotic plants, asparagine and the nonprotein amino acid, 4-methyleneglutamine, were identified as the major components of xylem exudate collected from root systems decapitated below the lowest nodule or above the nodulated zone. Sap bleeding from detached nodules carried 80% of its nitrogen as asparagine and less than 1% as 4-methyleneglutamine. Pulse-feeding nodulated roots with 15N2 gas showed asparagine to be the principal nitrogen product exported from N2-fixing nodules. Maintaining root systems in an N2-deficient (argon:oxygen, 80:20, v/v) atmosphere for 3 days greatly depleted asparagine levels in nodules. 4-Methyleneglutamine represented 73% of the total amino nitrogen in the xylem sap of non-nodulated plants grown on nitrogen-free nutrients, but relative levels of this compound decreased and asparagine increased when nitrate was supplied. The presence of 4-methyleneglutamine in xylem exudate did not appear to be associated with either N2 fixation or nitrate assimilation, and an origin from cotyledon nitrogen was suggested from study of changes in amount of the compound in tissue amino acid pools and in root bleeding xylem sap following germination. Changes in xylem sap composition were studied in nodulated plants receiving a range of levels of 15N-nitrate, and a 15N dilution technique was used to determine the proportions of accumulated plant nitrogen derived from N2 or fed nitrate. The abundance of asparagine in xylem sap and the ratio of asparagine:nitrate fell, while the ratio of nitrate:total amino acid rose as plants derived less of their organic nitrogen from N2. Assays based on xylem sap composition are suggested as a means of determining the relative extents to which N2 and nitrate are being used in peanuts.  相似文献

The effects of several growth regulators and amino acids onin vitro organogenesis of Torenia fournieri Lind. were determinedusing internodal segments. Treatment with 2,4-D1 resulted innodular callus formation, while NAA and IAA induced roots constantlybut much less frequently shoot buds. Individually BA, zeatin, and 4-PU induced bud formation, but these shoot buds did notdevelop further. Formation of buds by cytokinin was influencedby a simultaneous application of NAA or 2,4-D, but not of IAA,its degree being reduced when BA was simultaneously appliedwith NAA or 2,4-D. When zeatin or kinetin was added with NAA,numerous roots were induced. The effects of various L-amino acids on in vitro organogenesiswere also investigated using the defined medium in which KNO3was a principal source of nitrogen. The formation of buds wasconsiderably stimulated by alanine and asparagine, and slightlyby glutamic acid in the medium containing both NAA and BA, inwhich bud formation was easily induced. On the other hand, allamino acids except for glutamic acid and aspartic acid inhibitedroom formation in this medium. Root formation was greatly stimulated by proline, alanine, glutamine, glutamic acid, and aspartic acid, and slightly by arginine andtryptophan in the medium containing NAA but no BA. Glutamicacid and aspartic acid also enhanced bud formation in this medium.  相似文献

The present work deals with the effect of six amino acids: asparagine, aspartic acid, glutamic acid, glycine, serine, and tryptophan,on growth and gametangial formation in Riccia gangetica. Allthe amino acids tested enhance vegetative growth, and amongthese glutamic acid proves best. The total number of rhizoidsis reduced in response to amino acids. Aspartic acid and glutamicacid favour antheridial production. In contrast, asparagine, serine, and tryptophan enhance archegonial formation, and amongthese asparagine elicits the best response. Glycine proves bestfor antheridial production, and also increases the number ofarchegonia. Key words: Riccia gangetica, Amino acids, Growth, Gametangial formation  相似文献
