The degree of immune response to corpuscular antigen and macrophage reaction within 24 hours after thermal injury were examined in a comparative study. The number of antibody-producing cells, antigen engulfment and elimination by the cells of peritoneal exudate, their adhesiveness to glass, and cathepsin activity in the cells of peritoneal exudate and the spleen were determined. Mice subjected to thermal burns showed suppressed immune response and decreased functional activity of the cells of the monocytic phagocyte system within the first 24 hours, which was manifested by a decrease in the adhesiveness of these cells to glass, and their ability to engulf and destroy xenogenic erythrocytes. 相似文献

The functional activity of phagocytic cells in 52 salmonellosis patients was studied with regard to the following characteristics: percent share of phagocytosis, phagocytic index, nitro blue tetrazolium test results, digestive activity. In patients with the unfavorable course of salmonellosis (the formation of carrier state) disturbances in the bactericidal activity of neutrophils and monocytes were established. For 32 patients leukinferon was included in the complex of etiotropic and pathogenetic treatment. The preparation was introduced in 3 intramuscular injections of 10,000 I. U. at intervals of 48 hours (the course of treatment); 10 days after the last injection this course was repeated. The use of leukinferon restored the normal functioning of phagocytes and the number of T-lymphocytes. 相似文献

One of the main problems of the modern medicines within the last 10-15 years has been so-called drug disease. Toxic effect of the aminoglucoside antibiotics and streptomycin on the vestibular and auditory analysers is one of frequent and severe complications of their use. According to the author's observations treatment of 200 patients with streptomycin resulted in affection of their hearing in 40 to 80 cases. The ototoxicity was confirmed by audiograms, while the level of clinical signs and subjective complains did not always coincided with the audiograms. Audiometry should be performed at the beginning of the treatment and before the repeated courses of streptomycin therapy, and later it should be repeated during the treatment course every 10-15 days. Under the experimental conditions low doses of streptomycin used at early stages induced fine damages in the sensor cells of the cochlea which could be detected only histochemically. 相似文献

Novoimanine is an antibacterial drug from Hypericum perforatum L. When used in the bacteriostatic concentration, i.e. 0.5 gamma/ml, it induced release of potassium ions from the cells of Staphylococcus aureus 209P and had no effect on release of the UV-absorbing compounds and 14C-amino acids. In addition, incubation of the cells with novoimanine (2.5--50 gamma/ml) provided "preservation" in them of the earlier absorbed 14C-amino acids, while in the control cells their level decreased. In a concentration of 100 gamma/ml novoimanine stimulated activity of ATP-ase and alkaline phosphatase by 34 and 37-57 per cent respectively. Histones F1 and F3 of the calf thymus induced an intensive release of 14C-amino acids from the cells of staphylococci and increased the activity of ATP-ase by 6-10 times. The data of the study suggested that the effect of novoimanine on the cytoplasmic membrane was limited and different from that on the polycationic antibacterial agents. 相似文献

Superoxide radical production by mouse phagocytic spleen cells was shown to be essentially increased 2 hours following intraperitoneal injection of hydrocortisone acetate at a dose of 50 mg/kg body weight. The addition of hydrocortisone to the suspension of mouse spleen cells has resulted in linear dependence of hormone concentration in the incubation medium on the maximum rate of superoxide radical production. The mechanism of hydrocortisone stimulating effect on the activity of plasma membrane-located NAD(P)H-oxidase of phagocytic cells is being discussed. 相似文献

The effects of anxiety on the external respiration system and respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RSA) were studied in healthy subjects in real-life conditions. Changes in external respiration parameters and heart rate variability (HRV) in students going to take their end-of-term exams were assessed relative to a midterm period, and the cardiorespiratory system was monitored in a longitudinal study for 50 days. The function of the cardiorespiratory system was characterized by measuring external respiration parameters and calculating HRV parameters. State anxiety (SA) was assessed using Spielberger’s scale. An increase in SA before an exam was accompanied by a higher breathing rate, a higher tidal volume, and lower HRV indices, especially those related to respiratory sinus arrhythmia (HF and HF norm). The changes in the parameters depended on the increase in SA. A negative correlation was observed between midterm HF and pre-exam SA. The longitudinal study revealed a distinct negative correlation between respiratory sinus arrhythmia parameters and peak expiratory flow (PEF) and a positive correlation between SA and PEF in the majority of subjects. Changes in cardiorespiratory parameters depended on the changes in SA in the longitudinal study. An increase in SA was accompanied by substantial changes in respiratory sinus arrhythmia (RAS) and external respiration parameters, and their correlation was assumed to indicate that modification of parasympathetic activity plays a leading role in increasing PEF. 相似文献

An effect of cimetidine on ECG records has been investigated in a group of 40 patients with gastric or duodenal ulcers and coexisting circulatory disorders. For this purpose ECG has been recorded with Holter's technique (Medilog 2000) together with ECG-recording using high amplifying technique. An intravenous injection of 200 mg of cimetidine produced in some of patients inhibition of the sinus rhythm atrio-ventricular conduction disturbances as well as changes in the end phase of ECG ventricular image. The authors suggest, that intravenous administration of cimetidine to patients with cardiac diseases should be monitored with ECG recording. 相似文献

Visually evoked potentials were used to determine the spatial contrast response function of the visual system and the visual acuity of the pigeon. The spatial contrast response describes the relationship between the contrast in a pattern of vertical stripes, whose luminance is a function of position, and the amplitude of the visually evoked response at various spatial frequencies for a given temporal frequency (pattern reversal frequency); it indicates how particular spatial frequencies are attenuated in the visual system. The visually evoked responses were recorded using monopolar stainless steel electrodes inserted into the stratum griseum superficiale of the optic tectum; the depth of penetration was determined on the basis of a stereotactic atlas. The stimulus patterns were generated on a video monitor placed 75 cm in front of the animal's eye perpendicular to the optic axis. The spatial contrast response function measured at 10% contrast and 0.5 Hz reversal frequency shows a peak at a spatial frequency of 0.5 c/deg, corresponding to 1 degree of visual angle, and decreases progressively at higher spatial frequencies. The high-frequency limit (cut-off frequency) for resolution of sinusoidal gratings, estimated from the contrast response function, is 15.5 c/deg, corresponding to a visual acuity of 1.9 min of arc. 相似文献

Recent findings suggest that extracellular ubiquitin has pleiotropic effects on host defence mechanisms, but its cellular mechanism of action is not yet understood. Using fluorescence and in vivo confocal microscopy, we observed uptake of N-terminal fluorescein-labelled ubiquitin into human PBMC and MonoMac 6 cells. Immunoblotting experiments indicated that extracellular ubiquitin is then rapidly conjugated to a multitude of intracellular proteins. LPS and lipoteichoic acid significantly increased uptake and subsequent conjugation to intracellular proteins dose dependently. This mechanism showed saturation kinetics with a K(d) value for ubiquitin in the low nanomolar range (<10 nmol/L) and a B(max) value of 0.14-0.27 micromol ubiquitin/mg protein. These results suggest that the monocytic ubiquitin system can be targeted with physiologically relevant concentrations of extracellular ubiquitin during inflammation. This concept could provide a simple explanation for a multitude of extracellular ubiquitin's actions and open up new strategies to influence ubiquitin-dependent intracellular processes. 相似文献

The nitric oxide (NO) precursor L-arginine was found to decrease the amplitude and the quantum content of the EPPs and to increase the amplitude of the AP third deflection in the frog neuromuscular junction of the m. cutaneous pectoris preparation. Inhibitor of the NO synthase NG-nitro-L-arginine methylester exerted opposite effects. The data obtained suggest that endogenous NO is produced in the neuromuscular synapse area and can modify the work of potassium ion channels. 相似文献

We measured the chemiluminescence (CL) of human neutrophils (PMNLs) exposed to different concentrations of ofloxacin (2, 4, and 6 μg/ml) readily achievable in therapy. CL reaction during zymosan phagocytosis by PMNLs obtained from human healthy volunteers was registered in a computer-linked LKB 1251 luminometer. Ofloxacin did not induce significant variations on the respiratory burst of PMNLs. 相似文献
