A new heteronemertean is described, Gastropionsanmatiensis n. gen. et n. sp. from Caleta de LosLoros, San Matías Gulf, Argentine Republic(41&; deg;S; 64° 05′ W). G. sanmatiensis is mainly defined by: (1) the structure ofits proboscis sheath; (2) enteronephridia and exonephridiasituated in the anterior part of the oesophagus; (3) a sphincterbetween the oesophagus and the intestine; (4) anintestinal sphincter.
