Energy‐storage technology is moving beyond lithium batteries to sodium as a result of its high abundance and low cost. However, this sensible transition requires the discovery of high‐rate and long‐lifespan anode materials, which remains a significant challenge. Here, the facile synthesis of an amorphous Sn2P2O7/reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite and its sodium storage performance between 0.01 and 3.0 V are reported for the first time. This hybrid electrode delivers a high specific capacity of 480 mA h g?1 at a current density of 50 mA g?1 and superior rate performance of 250 and 165 mA h g?1 at 2 and 10 A g?1, respectively. Strikingly, this anode can sustain 15 000 cycles while retaining over 70% of the initial capacity. Quantitative kinetic analysis reveals that the sodium storage is governed by pseudocapacitance, particularly at high current rates. A full cell with sodium super ionic conductor (NASICON)‐structured Na3V2(PO4)2F3 and Na3V2(PO4)3 as cathodes exhibits a high energy density of over 140 W h kg?1 and a power density of nearly 9000 W kg?1 as well as stability over 1000 cycles. This exceptional performance suggests that the present system is a promising power source for promoting the substantial use of low‐cost energy storage systems.  相似文献

A high‐performance anode material, MnNCN, is synthesized through a facile and low‐cost method. The relationship between electrochemical properties and chemical composition is explored on the scientific considerations that can provide an insight on designing expected materials. MnNCN with the long bonding length of 2.262 Å in Mn? N and weak electronegativity of 3.04 Pauling units in N leads to a lower charge/discharge potential than that of MnO owing to the character of chemical bonds transformed to covalent dominating from ionic dominating in MnO. Covalent character increases the ratio of sharing electrons that decreases the migration energy of electrons in electrochemical reaction, which enhances the reactive reversibility and stability of electrode material. MnNCN delivered a reversibly specific capacity of 385 mA h g?1 at 5 A g?1 in a Li‐ion half cell. Besides, a Li‐ion hybrid capacitor with a high voltage of 4 V presents energy and power densities of respective 103 Wh kg?1 and 8533 W kg?1 and cycles at 5 A g?1 without detectable degradation after 5000 cycles.  相似文献

Composites of polypyrrole (PPy) and Cladophora nanocellulose, reinforced with 8 μm‐thick chopped carbon filaments, can be used as electrode materials to obtain paper‐based energy‐storage devices with unprecedented performance at high charge and discharge rates. Charge capacities of more than 200 C g?1 (PPy) are obtained for paper‐based electrodes at potential scan rates as high as 500 mV s?1, whereas cell capacitances of ~60–70 F g?1 (PPy) are reached for symmetric supercapacitor cells with capacitances up to 3.0 F (i.e.,0.48 F cm?2) when charged to 0.6 V using current densities as high as 31 A g?1 based on the PPy weight (i.e., 99 mA cm?2). Energy and power densities of 1.75 Wh kg?1 and 2.7 kW kg?1, respectively, are obtained when normalized with respect to twice the PPy weight of the smaller electrode. No loss in cell capacitance is seen during charging/discharging at 7.7 A g?1 (PPy) over 1500 cycles. It is proposed that the nonelectroactive carbon filaments decrease the contact resistances and the resistance of the reduced PPy composite. The present straightforward approach represents significant progress in the development of low‐cost and environmentally friendly paper‐based energy‐storage devices for high‐power applications.  相似文献

The hybrid Mg2+/Li+ battery (MLIB) is a very promising energy storage technology that combines the advantage of the Li and Mg electrochemistry. However, previous research has shown that the battery performance is limited due to the strong dependence on the Li content in the dual Mg2+/Li+ electrolyte. This limitation can be circumvented by significantly improving the diffusion kinetics of Mg2+ in the electrode, so that both Li+ and Mg2+ ions can be utilized as charge carriers. Herein, a free‐standing interlayer expanded MoS2/graphene composite (E‐MG) is demonstrated as a cathode for MLIB. The key advantage of this cathode is to enable the efficient intercalation of both Mg2+ and Li+. The E‐MG electrode displays a reversible capacity of ≈300 mA h g?1 at 20 mA g?1 in an MLIB cell, corresponding to a specific energy density up to ≈316.9 W h kg?1, which is comparable to that of the state‐of‐the‐art Li‐ion batteries (LIBs) and has no dendrite formation. The composite electrode is stable against cycling with a coulombic efficiency close to 100% at 500 mA g?1. This new electrode design represents a significant step forward for building a safe and high‐density electrochemical energy storage system.  相似文献

The lithium (Li) metal battery (LMB) is one of the most promising candidates for next‐generation energy storage systems. However, it is still a significant challenge to operate LMBs with high voltage cathodes under high rate conditions. In this work, an LMB using a nickel‐rich layered cathode of LiNi0.76Mn0.14Co0.10O2 (NMC76) and an optimized electrolyte [0.6 m lithium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide + 0.4 m lithium bis(oxalato)borate + 0.05 m LiPF6 dissolved in ethylene carbonate and ethyl methyl carbonate (4:6 by weight)] demonstrates excellent stability at a high charge cutoff voltage of 4.5 V. Remarkably, these Li||NMC76 cells can deliver a high discharge capacity of >220 mA h g?1 (846 W h kg?1) and retain more than 80% capacity after 1000 cycles at high charge/discharge current rates of 2C/2C (1C = 200 mA g?1). This excellent electrochemical performance can be attributed to the greatly enhanced structural/interfacial stability of both the Ni‐rich NMC76 cathode material and the Li metal anode using the optimized electrolyte.  相似文献

Nanoporous carbons (NPCs) with engineered specific pore sizes and sufficiently high porosities (both specific surface area and pore volume) are necessary for storing energy in the form of electric charges and molecules. Herein, NPCs, derived from biomass pine‐cones, coffee‐grounds, graphene‐oxide and metal‐organic frameworks, with systematically increased pore width (<1.0 nm to a few nm), micropore volume (0.2–0.9 cm3 g?1) and specific surface area (800–2800 m2 g?1) are presented. Superior CO2, H2, and H2O uptakes of 35.0 wt% (≈7.9 mmol g?1 at 273 K), 3.0 wt% (at 77 K) and 85.0 wt% (at 298 K), respectively at 1 bar, are achieved. At controlled microporosity, supercapacitors deliver impressive performance with a capacity of 320 and 230 F g?1 at 500 mA g?1, in aqueous and organic electrolytes, respectively. Excellent areal capacitance and energy density (>50 Wh kg?1 at high power density, 1000 W kg?1) are achieved to form the highest reported values among the range of carbons in the literature. The noteworthy energy storage performance of the NPCs for all five cases (CO2, H2, H2O, and capacitance in aqueous and organic electrolytes) is highlighted by direct comparison to numerous existing porous solids. A further analysis on the specific pore type governed physisorption capacities is presented.  相似文献

Transition metal nitrides are promising energy storage materials in regard to good metallic conductivity and high theoretical specific capacity, but their cycling stability is impeded by the huge volume change caused by the conversion reaction mechanism. Here, a simple strategy to produce an intercalation pseudocapacitive‐type vanadium nitride (VN) by one‐step ammonification of V2C MXene for sodium‐ion batteries is reported. Profiting from a distinctive layered structure pillared by Al atoms in the layer spacing, it delivers a high capacity of 372 mA h g?1 at 50 mA g?1 and a desirable rate performance. More importantly, it shows remarkably long cycling stability over 7500 cycles without capacity attenuation at 500 mA g?1. As expected, it is found that the intercalation pseudocapacitance plays an important role in the excellent performance, by using in situ X‐ray diffraction and ex situ X‐ray absorption structure characterization. Even more remarkable, are the high energy and power density of the sodium‐ion capacitor after coupling with a carbon‐based cathode. The hybrid device possesses an energy density of 78.43 Wh kg?1 at power density of 260 W kg?1. The results clearly show that such a unique‐layered VN with outstanding Na storage capability is an excellent new material for energy storage systems.  相似文献

Despite recent advances, current polymeric organic cathode materials have failed to incorporate a high degree of lithium storage in a small molecular framework, resulting in low capacities relative to monomers. This report discloses the development of a lithium salt polymer of dihydroxyanthraquinone (LiDHAQS) capable of storing four Li+ per monomer. The combination of storing four Li+ per monomer and a low molecular weight monomer results in a capacity of 330 mA h g?1, a record for this class of material. The additional redox events responsible for added Li+ storage occur between 3.0 and 3.6 V versus Li/Li+ resulting in an average discharge potential of 2.5 V versus Li/Li+. These metrics combined yield a high energy density of 825 W h kg?1 which is a 55% improvement over commercial lithium cobalt oxide. The high performance of LiDHAQS makes it a promising material for next generation Li+ cathodes.  相似文献

With the rapidly growing demand for low‐cost and safe energy storage, the advanced battery concepts have triggered strong interests beyond the state‐of‐the‐art Li‐ion batteries (LIBs). Herein, a novel hybrid Li/Na‐ion full battery (HLNIB) composed of the high‐energy and lithium‐free Na3V2(PO4)2O2F (NVPOF) cathode and commercial graphite anode mesophase carbon micro beads is for the first time designed. The assembled HLNIBs exhibit two high working voltage at about 4.05 and 3.69 V with a specific capacity of 112.7 mA h g?1. Its energy density can reach up to 328 W h kg?1 calculated from the total mass of both cathode and anode materials. Moreover, the HLNIBs show outstanding high‐rate capability, long‐term cycle life, and excellent low‐temperature performance. In addition, the reaction kinetics and Li/Na‐insertion/extraction mechanism into/out NVPOF is preliminarily investigated by the galvanostatic intermittent titration technique and ex situ X‐ray diffraction. This work provides a new and profound direction to develop advanced hybrid batteries.  相似文献

Energy density (energy per volume) is a key consideration for portable, automotive, and stationary battery applications. Selenium (Se) lithium and sodium metal cathodes are created that are monolithic and free‐standing, and with record Se loading of 70 wt%. The carbon host is derived from nanocellulose, an abundant and sustainable forestry product. The composite is extremely dense (2.37 g cm?3), enabling theoretical volumetric capacity of 1120 mA h cm?3. Such architecture is fully distinct from previous Se–carbon nano‐ or micropowders, intrinsically offering up to 2× higher energy density. For Li storage, the cathode delivers reversible capacity of 1028 mA h cm?3 (620 mA h g?1) and 82% retention over 300 cycles. For Na storage, 848 mA h cm?3 (511 mA h g?1) is obtained with 98% retention after 150 cycles. The electrodes yield superb volumetric energy densities, being 1727 W h L?1 for Li–Se and 980 W h L?1 for Na–Se normalized by total composite mass and volume. Despite the low surface area, over 60% capacity is maintained as the current density is increased from 0.1 to 2 C (30 min charge) with Li or Na. Remarkably, the electrochemical kinetics with Li and Na are comparable, including the transition from interfacial to diffusional control.  相似文献

Sodium‐ion capacitors (SICs) are emerging energy storage devices with high energy, high power, and durable life. Sn is a promising anode material for lithium storage, but the poor conductivity of the a‐NaSn phase upon sodaition hinders its implementation in SICs. Herein, a superior Sn‐based anode material consisting of plum pudding‐like Co2P/Sn yolk encapsulated with nitrogen‐doped carbon nanobox (Co2P/Sn@NC) for high‐performance SICs is reported. The 8–10 nm metallic nanoparticles produced in situ are uniformly dispersed in the amorphous Sn matrix serving as conductive fillers to facilitate electron transfer in spite of the formation of electrically resistive a‐NaSn phase during cycling. Meanwhile, the carbon shell buffers the large expansion of active Sn and provides a stable electrode–electrolyte interface. Owing to these merits, the yolk–shell Co2P/Sn@NC demonstrates a large capacity of 394 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1, high rate capability of 168 mA h g?1 at 5000 mA g?1, and excellent cyclability with 87% capacity retention after 10 000 cycles. By integrating the Co2P/Sn@NC anode with a peanut shell‐derived carbon cathode in the SIC, high energy densities of 112.3 and 43.7 Wh kg?1 at power densities of 100 and 10 000 W kg?1 are achieved.  相似文献

A facile two‐step strategy is developed to design the large‐scale synthesis of hierarchical, unique porous architecture of ternary metal hydroxide nanowires grown on porous 3D Ni foam and subsequent effective sulfurization. The hierarchical Zn–Co–S nanowires (NWs) arrays are directly employed as an electrode for supercapacitors application. The as‐synthesized Zn–Co–S NWs deliver an ultrahigh areal capacity of 0.9 mA h cm?2 (specific capacity of 366.7 mA h g?1) at a current density of 3 mA cm?2, with an exceptional rate capability (≈227.6 mA h g?1 at a very high current density of 40 mA cm?2) and outstanding cycling stability (≈93.2% of capacity retention after 10 000 cycles). Most significantly, the assembled Zn–Co–S NWs//Fe2O3@reduced graphene oxide asymmetric supercapacitors with a wide operating potential window of ≈1.6 V yield an ultrahigh volumetric capacity of ≈1.98 mA h cm?3 at a current density of 3 mA cm?2, excellent energy density of ≈81.6 W h kg?1 at a power density of ≈559.2 W kg?1, and exceptional cycling performance (≈92.1% of capacity retention after 10 000 cycles). This general strategy provides an alternative to design the other ternary metal sulfides, making it facile, free‐standing, binder‐free, and cost‐effective ternary metal sulfide‐based electrodes for large‐scale applications in modern electronics.  相似文献

A simple ball‐milling method is used to synthesize a tin oxide‐silicon carbide/few‐layer graphene core‐shell structure in which nanometer‐sized SnO2 particles are uniformly dispersed on a supporting SiC core and encapsulated with few‐layer graphene coatings by in situ mechanical peeling. The SnO2‐SiC/G nanocomposite material delivers a high reversible capacity of 810 mA h g?1 and 83% capacity retention over 150 charge/discharge cycles between 1.5 and 0.01 V at a rate of 0.1 A g?1. A high reversible capacity of 425 mA h g?1 also can be obtained at a rate of 2 A g?1. When discharged (Li extraction) to a higher potential at 3.0 V (vs. Li/Li+), the SnO2‐SiC/G nanocomposite material delivers a reversible capacity of 1451 mA h g?1 (based on the SnO2 mass), which corresponds to 97% of the expected theoretical capacity (1494 mA h g?1, 8.4 equivalent of lithium per SnO2), and exhibits good cyclability. This result suggests that the core‐shell nanostructure can achieve a completely reversible transformation from Li4.4Sn to SnO2 during discharging (i.e., Li extraction by dealloying and a reversible conversion reaction, generating 8.4 electrons). This suggests that simple mechanical milling can be a powerful approach to improve the stability of high‐performance electrode materials involving structural conversion and transformation.  相似文献

The low capacity and unsatisfactory rate capability of hard carbon still restricts its practical application for Li/K‐ion batteries. Herein, a low‐cost and large‐scale method is developed to fabricate phosphorus‐doped hard carbon (PHC‐700) by crosslinking phosphoric acid and epoxy resin and followed by annealing at 700 °C. H3PO4 acts not only as a crosslinker to solidify epoxy resin for promoting the degree of graphitization and lowering the specific surface area, but also as phosphorus source for forming P? C and P? O bonds, thus providing more active sites for Li/K storage. As a result, the PHC‐700 electrode delivers a highly reversible capacity of 1294.8 mA h g?1 at 0.1 A g?1 and a capacity of 214 mA h g?1 after 10 000 cycles at 10 A g?1. As for potassium‐ion batteries, PHC‐700 exhibits a reversible capacity of 381.9 mA h g?1 at 0.1 A g?1 and a capacity of 260 mA h g?1 after 1000 cycles at 0.2 A g?1. In situ Raman and in situ NMR measurements reveal that the P‐containing bonds can enhance the adsorption to alkali metal ions, and the P? C bond can participate in electrochemical redox reaction by forming Lix PCy . Additionally, P‐doped hard carbon shows better structural/interfacial stability for improved long‐term cycling stability.  相似文献

Lithium‐ion capacitors (LICs) with capacitor‐type cathodes and battery‐type anodes are considered a promising next‐generation advanced energy storages system that meet the requirements of high energy density and power density. However, the mismatch of charge‐storage capacity and electrode kinetics between positive and negative electrodes remains a challenge. Herein, layered SnS2/reduced graphene oxide (RGO) nanocomposites are developed for negative electrodes and a 2D B/N codoped carbon (BCN) nanosheet is designed for the positive electrode. The SnS2/RGO derived from SnS2‐bonded RGO of high conductivity exhibits a capacity of 1198 mA h g?1 at 100 mA g?1. Boron and nitrogen atoms in BCN are found to promote adsorption of anions, which enhance the pseudocapacitive contribution as well as expanding the voltage of LICs. A quantitative kinetics analysis indicates that the SnS2/RGO electrodes with a dominating capacitive mechanism and a diminished intercalation process, benefit the kinetic balance between the two electrodes. With this particular structure, the LIC is able to operate at the highest operating voltage for these devices recorded to date (4.5 V), exhibiting an energy density of 149.5 W h kg?1, a power density of 35 kW kg?1, and a capacity retention ratio of 90% after 10 000 cycles.  相似文献

Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2), which possesses a layered structure and exhibits a high theoretical capacity, is currently under intensive research as an anode candidate for next generation of Li‐ion batteries. However, unmodified MoS2 suffers from a poor cycling stability and an inferior rate capability upon charge/discharge processes. Herein, a unique nanocomposite comprising MoS2 nanothorns epitaxially grown on the backbone of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and coated by a layer of amorphous carbon is synthesized via a simple method. The epitaxial growth of MoS2 on CNTs results in a strong chemical coupling between active nanothorns and carbon substrate via C? S bond, providing a high stability as well as a high‐efficiency electron‐conduction/ion‐transportation system on cycling. The outer carbon layer can well‐accommodate the structural strain in the electrode upon lithium‐ion insertion/extraction. When employed as an anode for lithium storage, the prepared material exhibits remarkable electrochemical properties with a high specific capacity of 982 mA h g?1 at 0.1 A g?1, as well as excellent long‐cycling stability (905 mA h g?1 at 1 A g?1 after 500 cycles) and superior rate capability, confirming its potential application in high‐performance Li‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Potassium‐ion hybrid capacitors (PIHCs), elaborately integrate the advantages of high output power as well as long lifespan of supercapacitors and the high energy density of batteries, and exhibit great possibilities for the future generations of energy storage devices. The critical next step for future implementation lies in exploring a high‐rate battery‐type anode with an ultra‐stable structure to match the capacitor‐type cathode. Herein, a “dual‐carbon” is constructed, in which a three‐dimensional nitrogen‐doped microporous carbon polyhedron (NMCP) derived from metal‐organic frameworks is tightly wrapped by two‐dimensional reduced graphene oxide (NMCP@rGO). Benefiting from the synergistic effect of the inner NMCP and outer rGO, the NMCP@rGO exhibits a superior K‐ion storage capability with a high reversible capacity of 386 mAh g?1 at 0.05 A g?1 and ultra‐long cycle stability with a capacity of 151.4 mAh g?1 after 6000 cycles at 5.0 A g?1. As expected, the as‐assembled PIHCs with a working voltage as high as 4.2 V present a high energy/power density (63.6 Wh kg?1 at 19 091 W kg?1) and excellent capacity retention of 84.7% after 12 000 cycles. This rational construction of advanced PIHCs with excellent performance opens a new avenue for further application and development.  相似文献

The polyanion Li7V15O36(CO3) is a nanosized molecular cluster (≈1 nm in size), that has the potential to form an open host framework with a higher surface‐to‐bulk ratio than conventional transition metal oxide electrode materials. Herein, practical rechargeable Na‐ion batteries and symmetric Li‐ion batteries are demonstrated based on the polyoxovanadate Li7V15O36(CO3). The vanadium centers in {V15O36(CO3)} do not all have the same VIV/V redox potentials, which permits symmetric devices to be created from this material that exhibit battery‐like energy density and supercapacitor‐like power density. An ultrahigh specific power of 51.5 kW kg?1 at 100 A g?1 and a specific energy of 125 W h kg?1 can be achieved, along with a long cycling life (>500 cycles). Moreover, electrochemical and theoretical studies reveal that {V15O36(CO3)} also allows the transport of large cations, like Na+, and that it can serve as the cathode material for rechargeable Na‐ion batteries with a high specific capacity of 240 mA h g?1 and a specific energy of 390 W h kg?1 for the full Na‐ion battery. Finally, the polyoxometalate material from these electrochemical energy storage devices can be easily extracted from spent electrodes by simple treatment with water, providing a potential route to recycling of the redox active material.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel freestanding core‐branch negative and positive electrode material through integrating trim aligned Fe2O3 nanoneedle arrays (Fe2O3 NNAs) is first proposed with typical mesoporous structures and NiCo2O4/Ni(OH)2 hybrid nanosheet arrays (NiCo2O4/Ni(OH)2 HNAs) on SiC nanowire (SiC NW) skeletons with outstanding resistance to oxidation and corrosion, good conductivity, and large‐specific surface area. The original built SiC NWs@Fe2O3 NNAs is validated to be a highly capacitive negative electrode (721 F g?1 at 2 A g?1, i.e., 1 F cm?2 at 2.8 mA cm?2), matching well with the similarly constructed SiC NWs@NiCo2O4/Ni(OH)2 HNAs positive electrode (2580 F g?1 at 4 A g?1, i.e., 3.12 F cm?2 at 4.8 mA cm?2). Contributed by the uniquely engineered electrodes, a high‐performance asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) is developed, which can exhibit a maximum energy density of 103 W h kg?1 at a power density of 3.5 kW kg?1, even when charging the device within 6.5 s, the energy density can still maintain as high as 45 W h kg?1 at 26.1 kW kg?1, and the ASC manifests long cycling lifespan with 86.6% capacitance retention even after 5000 cycles. This pioneering work not only offers an attractive strategy for rational construction of high‐performance SiC NW‐based nanostructured electrodes materials, but also provides a fresh route for manufacturing next‐generation high‐energy storage and conversion systems.  相似文献

An all‐organic battery consisting of two redox‐polymers, namely poly(2‐vinylthianthrene) and poly(2‐methacrylamide‐TCAQ) is assembled. This all‐organic battery shows excellent performance characteristics, namely flat discharge plateaus, an output voltage exceeding 1.3 V, and theoretical capacities of both electrodes higher than 100 mA h g?1. Both organic electrode materials are synthesized in two respective three synthetic steps using the free‐radical polymerization technique. Li‐organic batteries manufactured from these polymers prove their suitability as organic electrode materials. The cathode material poly(2‐vinylthianthrene) (3) displays a discharging plateau at 3.95 V versus Li+/Li and a discharge capacity of 105 mA h g?1, corresponding to a specific energy of about 415 mW h g?1. The anode material poly(2‐methacrylamide‐TCAQ) (7) exhibits an initial discharge capacity of 130 mA h g?1, corresponding to 94% material activity. The combination of both materials results in an all‐organic battery with a discharge voltage of 1.35 V and an initial discharge capacity of 105 mA h g?1 (95% material activity).  相似文献
