Earliest middle Cambrian rocks in the Franconian Forest, formerly known as the ‘Galgenberg Formation’, include a moderately diverse fauna with a characteristic West Gondwanan, Atlas-type trilobite assemblage with often surprisingly well-preserved specimens. The hitherto inadequately characterised and poorly described assemblage includes Kingaspidoides frankenwaldensis, K. sp. aff. usitata, K. alberti sp. nov., K. meieri sp. nov., K.? sp. A, Ornamentaspis cf. crassilimbata, Latikingaspis sp. aff. alatus, Enixus sp. aff. juvenis, Acadoparadoxides sp. A, Parasolenopleura wurmi sp. nov., Parasolenopleura parabolica sp. nov. and Acanthomicmacca franconica Geyer, 2016. In addition to precise documentation of the species’ morphology and ontogenetic development, this study exemplifies allometric developments during the ontogeny of ellipsocephaloid and early solenopleurid trilobites, particularly Kingaspidoides and Parasolenopleura, and effects of deformation and distortion caused by diagenesis and tectonics. It further discusses the aspects of the trilobites’ ecology and taphonomy, and it characterises generic differences within the Kingaspis clade, particularly of Kingaspidoides, Latikingaspis and Ornamentaspis.  相似文献

Proschizophoria Maillieux is restudied and found to be related to the Silurian genusIdiorthis McLearn and a new genusCordatomyonia, type speciesCordatomyonia shupei, n. sp.Proschizophoria, Idiorthis, andCordatomyonia are united in the new subfamily Proschizophoriinae which is assigned to the dalmanellid family Rhipidomellidae. Rhipidomellidae and its included subfamilies Heterorthinae, Rhipidomellinae, and Proschizophoriinae are emended and newly diagnosed. A new dalmanellid genus,Megasalopina, is proposed for the Lower Devonian species“Dalmanella” elevata Williams & Breger and its allies. It is thought to have been derived from the draboviinid genusSalopina Boucot and therefore belongs to the Schizophoriidae.Dalmanellopsis Khalfin is removed from the synonymy ofLevenea and is shown to be related toSalopina.  相似文献

By dissolving Dachstein-limestone with acetic acid, Holothurian sclerites were obtained, i. e. sieve plates and wheels. One new species of the genusCalclamna, two new species of the genusCalclamnella, and the well known speciesFissobractites subsymmetrica Kristan-Tollmann were received within the family Calclamidae. For the first time the family Priscopedatidae is represented in the Triassic by two new species of the genusPriscopedatus and byStaurocumites cf.bartensteini Deflandre-Rigaud. Within the family Theeliidae four new species can be adjoined to the genusTheelia whileAcanthotheelia spinosa Frizzell & Exline could be confirmed by comparison.  相似文献

Sixteen yeast isolates identified as belonging to the genus Sugiyamaella were studied in relation to D-xylose fermentation, xylitol production, and xylanase activities. The yeasts were recovered from rotting wood and sugarcane bagasse samples in different Brazilian regions. Sequence analyses of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) region and the D1/D2 domains of large subunit rRNA gene showed that these isolates belong to seven new species. The species are described here as Sugiyamaella ayubii f.a., sp. nov. (UFMG-CM-Y607T = CBS 14108T), Sugiyamaella bahiana f.a., sp. nov. (UFMG-CM-Y304T = CBS 13474T), Sugiyamaella bonitensis f.a., sp. nov. (UFMG-CM-Y608T = CBS 14270T), Sugiyamaella carassensis f.a., sp. nov. (UFMG-CM-Y606T = CBS 14107T), Sugiyamaella ligni f.a., sp. nov. (UFMG-CM-Y295T = CBS 13482T), Sugiyamaella valenteae f.a., sp. nov. (UFMG-CM-Y609T = CBS 14109T) and Sugiyamaella xylolytica f.a., sp. nov. (UFMG-CM-Y348T = CBS 13493T). Strains of the described species S. boreocaroliniensis, S. lignohabitans, S. novakii and S. xylanicola, isolated from rotting wood of Brazilian ecosystems, were also compared for traits relevant to xylose metabolism. S. valenteae sp. nov., S. xylolytica sp. nov., S. bahiana sp. nov., S. bonitensis sp. nov., S. boreocarolinensis, S. lignohabitans and S. xylanicola were able to ferment d-xylose to ethanol. Xylitol production was observed for all Sugiyamaella species studied, except for S. ayubii sp. nov. All species studied showed xylanolytic activity, with S. xylanicola, S. lignohabitans and S. valenteae sp. nov. having the highest values. Our results suggest these Sugiyamaella species have good potential for biotechnological applications.  相似文献

The new genusViriatellina Bou?ek, 1964 unites the two older species namedNovakia gemündina Runzheimer, 1932 andTentaculites fuchsi Kutscher, 1931. ThusViriatellina gemuendina (Runzheimer) is cancelled, on the other handViriatellina fuchsi (Kutscher) remains valid. RecentlyViriatellina fuchsi (Kutscher) has been found in the tentaculitiferous limestone of Thuringia.  相似文献

The newly found tetracoralAngustiphyllum cuneiforme n. gen. n. sp. from theGosseletia-Sandstein (Couvinium) of Candás/Prov. Oviedo (Northern Spain) is described and designed an ancestor of the so called “cuneate corals”Homalophyllum Simpson, 1900,Xenocyathellus Bassler, 1937 andHomalophyllites Easton, 1944 from the Devonian and Mississippian of North-America. Because of their undoubtful genetic relations the whole group of cuneate corals is joined to the subfamily Homalophyllidae n. subfam. within the family ZaphrentoididaeSchindewolf, 1938. Evidently the evolution developed in a progressive orthogenetic manner from the new genesAngustiphyllum (Middle Devonian) toXenocyathellus (higher Middle Devonian) andHomalophyllites (Mississippian), whileHomalophyllum (Middle Devonian) separated from this line in a early stage and thenceforth had its own evolution.  相似文献

Relationship between roots and shoots ofPimpinella saxifraga L.,Petroselinum hortense Hoffm.,Lactuca sativa L., andBeta vulgaris subsp.esculenta (Salisbury) Gürke var.altissima Roessig was studied in irrigated and non-irrigated plants. It was found that the irrigation water did not influence distinctly the root-shoot ratio of the experimental plants. From the statical point of view, this relationship could be expressed by the following quantitative ratios for irrigated and non-irrigated plants: 3∶1 forPimpinella saxifraga L., 2∶1 forPetroselinum hortense Hoffm., 9∶1 forLactuca sativa L., and 1∶1 for beetroot. From the dynamic point of view it is possible to state that this ratio changes in the course of individual development. With plants cultivated for their aerial parts, it increased with age, while with plants cultivated for their roots, it decreased with age. The irrigation water produced much greater morphological changes (the shape and the surface area) in the root and shoot system of experimental plants.  相似文献

The diversity, taxonomy and distribution of the Opheliidae (Annelida: Polychaeta) in Icelandic waters is reviewed based on material collected during the BIOICE project. Nine opheliid species are recorded from Iceland; of these, three were previously reported in the area (Ophelia limacina, Ophelina cylindricaudata and O. acuminata), four are new for Icelandic waters (Ammotrypanella cf. arctica, Ophelina abranchiata, O. helgolandica and Tachytrypane jeffreisii), and two are new to science. Ophelina basicirra sp. nov. is distinguished by having a narrow anal tube with one short proximal anal cirrus in ventral position. Ophelina bowitzi sp. nov. is characterized by the small size of its anterior branchiae, which become larger in the middle and posterior body regions, and by an upwardly bent anal tube that is wide at the base and narrowing distally. The genera Euzonus, Armandia and Polyophthalmus are not represented in the BIOICE samples. The distribution of each species off Iceland is presented; one species is restricted to shallow waters of northwestern fjords, three species are found south of the GIF Ridge, and five species are circumicelandic. Several body characters with taxonomic relevance in some species are reviewed based on SEM images. Furthermore, as a first step towards a future revision of the genus Ophelina Örsted 1843 in North Atlantic waters, the status of each species originally described or subsequently reported from the area is commented on, and a key to the currently valid species is presented. Ophelina longicephala Hartmann-Schröder, 1977, formerly a subspecies of O. delapidans (Kinberg, 1866), is raised to species status.  相似文献

Eight species of Dactylogyridae were collected from the gills of the pintado-amarelo Pimelodus maculatus Lacépède in the Rio São Francisco in Brazil: Ameloblastella paranaensis (França, Isaac, Pavanelli &; Takemoto, 2003) Mendoza-Franco &; Scholz, 2009, A. satoi n. sp., Ameloblastella sp., Demidospermus armostus Kritsky &; Gutiérrez, 1998, D. cf. bidiverticulatum (Suriano &; Incorvaia, 1995) Kritsky &; Gutiérrez, 1998, D. ichthyocercus n. sp., D. paravalenciennesi Gutiérrez &; Suriano, 1992 and D. uncusvalidus Gutiérrez &; Suriano, 1992. Two new species, A. satoi n. sp. and D. ichthyocercus n. sp., are described, and A. paranaensis is redescribed. The Rio São Francisco represents new geographical records for the five previously described dactylogyrid species.  相似文献

The Bohemian speciesAnetoceras solitarius (Barrande 1865) is re-described, including the TurkishA. barrandei (De Verneuil 1866). The other Bohemian species areA. aff.advolvens Erben 1960 and?A. fritschi (Barrande 1877). A new speciesA. recticostatum n. sp. is described from the German Lower Devonian, and several still problematical species of the genus are discussed. Finally, the supposed phylogenetic position and the relations ofAnetoceras are pointed out. The Upper SiegenianA. hunsrueckianum Erben 1960 is regarded as most primitive coiled ammonoid and as connecting link between the bactritids, and early coiled ammonoids.Mimosphinctes Eichenberg is considered to be a descendant fromAnetoceras.  相似文献

The Coburg Sandstone member of the Hassberge Formation, Middle Keuper, Carnian, Upper Triassic, in the Germanic Basin of Central Europe contains spinicaudatan branchiopods which considerably broaden the known spectrum and provide important data on the phylogenetic history and intercontinental correlation of this systematic group. The spinicaudatan fauna for this lithostratigraphic unit is described in detail and includes Euestheria kozuri sp. nov., E.? sp. nov. A, Gregoriusella striatula sp. nov., Laxitextella freybergi Kelber and Kozur in Kozur and Weems, 2007, L. dorsorecta (Reible, 1962), and Laxitextella? sp. A. Additional discussions deal with Euestheria multicostata (Geyer, 1987), E. winterpockensis (Bock, 1953a), Laxitextella laxitexta (Sandberger in Jones, 1890), Laxitextella multireticulata (Reible, 1962), and “Laxitextella? hausmanni (Schmidt, 1938),” as well as problems with (sub)global zonations that are based on spinicaudatans and suggested to be of Carnian and Norian age.  相似文献

Here we report the results of an archaeobotanical study carried out on Ceramic Neolithic (2700–2000 bc) and Kushan period (ad 100–300) deposits at Kanispur, Kashmir, northern India. Botanical evidence from the Ceramic Neolithic phase reflects a nascent agriculture based on cold-tolerant crops (barley, wheats, lentil, field pea and grass pea) related to farming patterns of adjacent cultures and possibly evidence for the earliest cultivation in the valley. The Kushan period is characterized by a double-cropping pattern, suggesting a change in agricultural practices associated with a population recovery following a post-Neolithic decline. Finds of Juglans regia, and Prunus cf. amygdalus shells in ceramic Neolithic levels, and Vitis cf. vinifera, Emblica officinalis and Ziziphus cf. nummularia in addition to J. regia, and P. cf. amygdalus during Kushan times suggest that horticulture and foraging played an important role in the diet of the occupants. The present dataset provides new absolute dates for the subsistence economy of the Ceramic Neolithic population in the Kashmir Valley. We also present the oldest directly dated wheat and barley in Kashmir.  相似文献
