A new species ofCroton,C. dissectistipulatus, is described from Amazonian Brazil. This species is superficially similar toC. timandroides from northeastern and southeastern Brazil, but differs in having petiolate leaves with glandular margins, persistent stipules, conspicuous racemose inflorescences, staminate flowers having externally glabrous sepals and 3 stamens, and pedicellate pistillate flowers. The systematic position ofC. dissectistipulatus relative to the sections ofCroton is discussed.  相似文献

During a study of the genus Phyllanthus (Phyllanthaceae) in Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, a new species Phyllanthus gongyloides Cordeiro & Carneiro-Torres sp. nov. was found and is described and illustrated here. It is probably endemic to the area and is placed in subgen. Phyllanthus , sect. Phyllanthus , subsect. Clausseniani G. L. Webster. A new couplet to Webster's available key to the subsection is provided . © 2004 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society , 2004, 146 , 247–250.  相似文献

Schefflera aurata, a new species of Araliaceae endemic to the restinga forests of southern Bahia, Brazil, is described and illustrated. It is probably related toS. morototoni, but can be distinguished by leaflets with strongly coriaceous blades, cuspidate apices, goldensericeous indument of the abaxial surfaces, partial inflorescences with 8–12 subsessile flowers, elongated ovaries, and distinctly larger fruits.  相似文献

Three new species of BrazilianDendropanax from the rain forests of Bahia state are described and illustrated.Dendropanax amorimii, endemic to the rain forests near Boa Nova, in southern Bahia, is characterized by compound umbellate inflorescences with elongated primary branches each having a proximal whorl of bracts, and by leaves with well-developed tertiary venation.Dendropanax bahiensis, endemic to the Atlantic rain forests of southern Bahia, is distinguished by its large and membranous leaves with reddish schizogenous glands on the abaxial surface and by the reduced and branched inflorescences with short-pedicellate flowers and large fruits.Dendropanax geniculatus, an endemic species from the “matas de grotão” of Serra da Chapadinha, Chapada Diamantina, is characterized by simple and usually geniculate inflorescences bearing long-pedicellate flowers and fruits.  相似文献

Inga unica Barneby & J. W. Grimes, notable for a syndrome of: a) softly pilose foliage, b) emarginate leafstalks lacking nectaries, c) leaflets 2–3 pairs, of moderate size, d) filiform pliant peduncles, e) globose capitula, f) elongate linear floral bracts persistent after fall of the flowers, g) calyx more than half as long as corolla, and h) thin-textured fruit shattering after falling, is described, figured, and discussed. It appears related toI. (Leptinga) nutans (Vellozo) Martius ex Bentham.  相似文献

Summary   Croton imbricatus L. R. Lima & Pirani from Bahia, C. muellerianus L. R. Lima from Paraná and C. pygmaeus L. R. Lima from Rio Grande do Sul are described and illustrated. They are included in Croton section Lamprocroton (Müll. Arg.) Pax because they are much branched subshrubs or shrubs, bearing leaves with a lepidote indumentum (at least in part), inflorescences lacking bisexual cymules, and pistillate flowers with bifid styles.
Résumé   Croton imbricatus L. R. Lima & Pirani da Bahia, C. muellerianus L. R. Lima do Paraná e C. pygmaeus L. R. Lima do Rio Grande do Sul s?o descritas e ilustradas. Elas s?o representantes de Croton section Lamprocroton (Müll. Arg.)

Croton campanulatus, a new species from southeastern Brazil in the states of Minas Gerais and Rio de Janeiro, is here described and illustrated. Morphological data indicate that this species belongs to Croton section Cleodora based on its arborescent habit, pistillate flowers with imbricate sepals, reduced petals, and multifid styles that are fused at the base.  相似文献

One new species and one new variety ofBauhinia subg.Phanera sect.Caulotretus are described. Both taxa are tendrilled lianas with woody fruit and both are apparently endemic to Southern Bahian moist forest.Bauhinia carvalhoi has the smallest entire leaves known in the section.Bauhinia angulosa var.bahiana apparently replaces, in “Mata higrófila sul Bahiana”, the typical variety from southeastern Brazil. A key to the three taxa of this section known from Bahia is provided.  相似文献

A new species of Sauvagesia is described and illustrated under the name Sauvagesia paniculata. This new species is morphologically similar to the acicular-leaved species of the subsect. Vellozianae. However, S. paniculata can be clearly differentiated from the other acicular-leaved species by the paniculate inflorescence. Other diagnostic characters of S. paniculata include the shorter pedicel and longer leaves. This new species seems to be narrowly endemic to the “campo rupestre” vegetation in the Esbarrancado mountain range of Mucugê, in the Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil.  相似文献

This is the first comparative study of floral structure of the recently established new family Picrodendraceae (part of Euphorbiaceae s.l.) in Malpighiales. Nine species of eight (out of ca. 28) genera were studied. Female flowers are mainly completely trimerous, and in such flowers the perianth consists of one or two whorls of sepals. A floral disc (which probably functions as a nectary) is mostly present. The free parts of the carpels are simple (unbranched) in all ten species studied. Each carpel contains two crassinucellar, anatropous or hemitropous, epitropous (antitropous) ovules, which are covered by a large obturator. The inner integument is thicker than the outer (equally thick in two species studied), and commonly both integuments form the micropyle. In mature ovules the vascular bundle commonly branches in the chalaza, with the branches extending to the base of the inner integument but not entering it. A nucellar cap and, less often, a nucellar beak is formed. Floral structure supports the close relationship of Picrodendraceae with Phyllanthaceae and Euphorbiaceae s.str. within Malpighiales, as suggested (but not yet strongly supported) by some recent published molecular analyses. These three families share a unique combination of characters, including (1) unisexual, apetalous trimerous flowers, (2) crassinucellar ovules with a nucellar beak, (3) a large obturator, and (4) explosive fruits with carunculate seeds.  相似文献
