Sesara triodon n.sp. is described from the Phu Pha Lom limestone area in Loei, northeastern Thailand. It possesses a small and depressed–conoid, transparent shell with a shiny external surface. The aperture possesses three apertural teeth, in contrast to other Thai species, Sesara parva Solem, 1966 (two teeth) and Sesara megalodon Blanford, 1902 (four teeth). The genital system of the new species has some distinctive characters, including a vagina longer than the free oviduct, and the epiphallic retractor caecum is rounded and bulbous. The radula has 104 rather straight rows of teeth, with each row having74–81 teeth. This is the easternmost record of the genus Sesara in Thailand.

A new species, Gymnemopsis phuwuaensis A. Kidyoo, has been discovered in northeastern Thailand and is here described and illustrated. An identification key to all species of the genus is provided. Photographs and a diagnostic comparison with the morphologically similar species G. calcicola Kerr, are also provided. Gymnemopsis phuwuaensis displays clear differences in form and color of the corolla as well as in size of bract and flower. A lectotype for Gymnemopsis pierrei is also designated.

Leopoldia tabriziana Jafari (Hyacinthaceae) from northwest of Iran (East Azarbaijan province) is described here and illustrated by a line‐drawing. It is similar to L. comosa Parl . but differs in having violet (not cream) pedicels in the fresh fertile flowers, oblong‐campanulate (not oblong‐urceolate) fertile flowers, triangular‐obovate (not globose‐obovate) sterile flowers, dark violet (not beige) fertile flowers and dark violet (not pale violet) sterile flowers with much shorter pedicels. Ixora clarae and I. elisae (Rubiaceae) are two endemic species described from New Caledonia. Ixora clarae is easily recognised by its (1–)3-flowered inflorescences, made up by thick and large flowers embedded in a calyculus. It is known from a few specimens collected on the nearest mountains by Nouméa, and is considered as endangered (EN). Ixora elisae is remarkable for its very enlarged campanulate calyx-limb. The latter one, from the Isle of Pines and Lifou, known by only two herbarium collections, is probably on its way to disappear in nature. Consequently, it is proposed to be classified as critically endangered (CR).

A new species of Annonaceae, Mitrephora sirikitiae , is described from Mae Hong Son Province in northern Thailand. It is easily distinguished from the seven species of Mitrephora previously recorded from Thailand due to its very large, showy flowers. It is most similar to M. winitii , but differs in its larger flowers, with inner petals that become undulate at maturity. The profuse blooming of the new species and its large flowers with mild fragrance suggest that may be of significant horticultural potential.

Aristolochia dinghoui is described from southwestern Thailand. It is morphologically similar toA. harmandiana Pierre ex Lecomte, from Cambodia and Laos, and also bears some resemblance toA. philippinensis Warb. andA. sericea Blanco, both from the Philippines. A key to these four species is included, and some of their diagnostic features are listed.

Miconia caiuia occurs only in the highly endangered submontane moist forests in the states of Alagoas, Pernambuco, and northern Bahia, Brazil. It belongs to Miconia section Miconia subsection Secundiflorae. This new species can be distinguished from other species in this subsection by the lepidote-stellate trichomes on young branches, petioles, inflorescences and hypanthia, leaves with suprabasal nerves and wrinkled/auriculate bases, abaxial leaf surfaces with only sparse trichomes, a 5-locular ovary, and large mature fruits (10–13?×?12–15 mm) with up to 15 seeds, which are 2.5–3.5 mm long.

We describe a new species of torrent-dwelling ranid frog of the genus Amolops from western to peninsular Thailand. Amolops panhai, new species, differs from its congeners by the combination of: small body, males 31-34 mm, females 48-58 mm in snout-vent length; head narrower than long; tympanum distinct; vomerine teeth in short, oblique patches; first finger subequal to second; disc of first finger smaller than that of second, with circummarginal groove; no wide fringe of skin on third finger; toes fully webbed; outer metatarsal tubercle present; supratympanic fold present; dorsolateral fold indistinct; axillary gland present; horny spines on back, side of head and body, and chest absent; large tubercles on side of anus absent; glandular fold on ventral surface of tarsus absent; nuptial pad and paired gular pouches present in male; white band along the upper jaw extending to shoulder absent; larval dental formula 7(4-7)/3(1). This new species is the second anuran discovered which has a disjunct distribution around the Isthmus of Kra.
