Using the drop-diffusate technique, a number of isoflavonoid phytoalexins have been obtained from the excised, fungus-inoculated leaflets of 41 species belonging to the legume genus Trigonella. Leaf diffusates variously contained pterocarpan (medicarpin and maackiain) and isoflavan (vestitol and sativan) derivatives previously associated with genera closely allied to Trigonella. In diffusates from T. calliceras, medicarpin was accompanied by a phytoalexin (designated TC-1) provisionally identified as a new hydroxylated pterocarpan. Most of the Trigonella species were also examined for their ability to release coumarin upon tissue maceration. The combined phytoalexin/coumarin data suggest that three major intrageneric chemical divisions occur in Trigonella; two of these apparently link the genus to Medicado/Factorovskya and Melilotus respectively, whilst the third provides some evidence for a connection with Trifolium. The taxonomic aspects of these findings are discussed in the light of earlier morphological studies which provided evidence for a distinct floral dichotomy amongst Trigonella species.  相似文献

Dermacentor reticulatus and D. marginatus exhibit overlapping phenotypes. The possibility of conspecificity was investigated on the nucleotide level by comparing DNA sequences of the second internal transcribed spacer (ITS 2) of the rDNA gene. The inter-specific polymorphism was more than 20-times greater than the intra-specific polymorphism of 3 D. reticulatus strains of different geographic origins. Furthermore, the degree of polymorphisms between D. reticulatus and D. marginatus was found to be of the same order of magnitude as that between D. andersoni and D. variabilis, for which separate species status is accepted. These genomic findings do not support a possible conspecificity of D. reticulatus and D. marginatus.  相似文献

The unique co-occurrence of thyriothecia belonging to three fossil genera of epiphyllous fungi, Stomiopeltites Alvin & Muir (Micropeltidaceae), Callimothallus Dilcher, and Trichothyrites Rosendahl (Microthyriaceae), are reported on the leaves of the same host plant, Cunninghamia shangcunica Kodrul, Gordenko & Sokolova from the Oligocene Shangcun Formation of the Maoming Basin, South China. In China, Stomiopeltites is identified for the first time, Callimothallus is known from the Oligocene and Miocene of Guangxi and Zhejiang provinces, and Trichothyrites previously has been found only in the Eocene palynological assemblages of the Maoming Basin. The presence of abundant and diverse epiphyllous micromycetes, together with the taxonomic composition of the Shangcun megaflora and pollen assemblage, as well as quantitative climatic estimates obtained using Climate Leaf Analysis Multivariate Program, confirm the existence of a warm and humid climate in this region during the late early Oligocene. The geographic and stratigraphic distributions, comparisons with extant analogues, as well as ecological and paleoclimatic implications of the fossil fungi are discussed.  相似文献

The Teloschistaceae is a widespread family with considerable morphological and ecological heterogeneity across genera and species groups. In order to provide a comprehensive molecular phylogeny for this family, phylogenetic analyses were carried out on sequences from the nuclear ribosomal ITS region obtained from 114 individuals that represent virtually all main lineages of Teloschistaceae. Our study confirmed the polyphyly of Caloplaca, Fulgensia and Xanthoria, and revealed that Teloschistes is probably non-monophyletic. We also confirm here that species traditionally included in Caloplaca subgenus Gasparrinia do not form a monophyletic entity. Caloplaca aurantia, C. carphinea and C. saxicola s. str. groups were recovered as monophyletic. The subgenera Caloplaca and Pyrenodesmia were also polyphyletic. In the subgenus Caloplaca, the traditionally recognized C. cerina group was recovered as monophyletic. Because this study is based solely on ITS, to maximize taxon sampling, the inclusion of phylogenetic signal from ambiguously aligned regions in MP (recoded INAASE and arc characters) resulted in the most highly supported phylogenetic reconstruction, compared with Bayesian inference restricted to alignable sites.  相似文献

Hairy root cultures of three species of legume, Lotus corniculatus, Trifolium repens and T. pratense were established using a wild-type strain (C58C1 with pRi 15834) of Agrobacterium rhizogenes. Southern hybridization analysis confirmed that the lines were genetically transformed. Copy numbers of TL-DNA in different lines varied from one to eight. Examination of the transformed root cultures revealed changes in anatomy, morphology and cytology. Plants that had regenerated from hairy roots of L. corniculatus showed changes in morphology, physiology and cytology but no change in several parameters of nitrogen fixation activity.  相似文献

A new genus is recognized on the basis of wind-dispersed fruits from the Eocene of western North America and Miocene of eastern Asia. The fruits consist of an accrescent hypogynous calyx of five obovate sepals and one or more globose fruit bodies. Although the fossils were formerly placed in the extant genera Porana (Convolvulaceae) and Astronium (Anacardiaceae), our investigation of numerous specimens from several floras in the western United States (e.g., Florissant, Green River, Clarno) and Canada (Whipsaw Creek, British Columbia) and the Yilan and Shanwang floras of China reveals unique characters that indicate that the fossils are a distinct genus, which we name Chaneya. Unlike Porana and Astronium, the fossil calyces have stomata that are longitudinally aligned, and early stages of fruit development show a gynoecium of five apocarpous carpels, of which only one or two usually enlarge at maturity. Precise systematic placement of the fossil genus is uncertain, but similarities to the extant Picrasma of the Simaroubaceae are suggestive of possible affinities. Two species are recognized: Chaneya tenuis (Lesq.) comb. nov., from the Eocene of western North America and northeastern China, and Chaneya kokangensis (Endo) comb. nov., from the Miocene of eastern Asia.  相似文献

嶂山化石地点位于淮河下游、马陵山南端的人工河——新沂河的河床上。该化石点最早报道于1953年,是淮河下游为数不多的更新世化石点之一。本文报道了嶂山化石点近年新出土的一批动物化石,动物群包括:龟鳖类、扬子鳄(相似种)、虎、淮河古菱齿象、蒙古野驴、梅氏犀、李氏野猪、河套大角鹿、葛氏斑鹿和草原野牛。嶂山的扬子鳄(相似种)是该物种在更新世化石记录中分布最北的,而草原野牛则是该物种最靠南的化石记录。嶂山的古菱齿象被归入淮河古菱齿象,因其齿板数多于纳玛古菱齿象,而牙齿尺寸大于诺氏古菱齿象。嶂山河套大角鹿的下颌提供了该物种仅有的下颊齿列长度数据,证明晚更新世的河套大角鹿具有相对弱的角枝、纤细的下颌和延长的齿列,支持了中国大角鹿属(Sinomegaceros)在角枝粗壮度、下颌肿厚度和齿列长度之间的演化关联性。嶂山动物群中蒙古野驴、河套大角鹿是典型的晚更新世物种,且成员多为绝灭种,推断年代很可能为晚更新世的早段。嶂山动物群组合反映了相对温暖湿润的气候,显示当时的骆马湖一带兼有湿地、森林和草地。嶂山化石点也为马陵山地区旧石器遗存的相关研究提供了新的生物地层学参照。  相似文献

Molecular phylogenetic and comparative morphological studies provide evidence for the recognition of a new family, Chorioactidaceae, in the Pezizales. Four genera are placed in the family: Chorioactis, Desmazierella, Neournula, and Wolfina. Based on parsimony, likelihood, and Bayesian analyses of LSU, SSU, and RPB2 sequence data, Chorioactidaceae represents a sister clade to the Sarcosomataceae, to which some of these taxa were previously referred. Morphologically these genera are similar in pigmentation, excipular construction, and asci, which mostly have terminal opercula and rounded, sometimes forked, bases without croziers. Ascospores have cyanophilic walls or cyanophilic surface ornamentation in the form of ridges or warts. So far as is known the ascospores and the cells of the paraphyses of all species are multinucleate. The six species recognized in these four genera all have limited geographical distributions in the northern hemisphere.  相似文献

Nutritional stress during the dry summer period is considered as a primary factor limiting goat production in the Mediterranean region. This study was conducted to determine if the browse of deciduous woody fodder plants is useful as a supplement for goats grazing kermes oak shrublands during July and September. Browses used were of Amorpha fruticosa L., Carpinus orientalis Mill., Colutea arborescens L., Fraxinus ornus L., Ostrya carpinifolia Scop. and Robinia pseudoacacia L.. Treatments included: (1)–(6) kermes oak (Quercus coccifera L.) shrubland plus fresh branches (2 kg/animal/day) of one of the above fodder plants as browse supplement, (7) kermes oak shrubland plus 0.25 (July) or 0.5 (September) kg alfalfa pellets/animal/day and (8) grazing in kermes oak shrubland as a control. Fodder plants produced high amounts of grazable material during summer whose quality ranged from medium (Carpinus, Fraxinus, Ostrya) to high (Amorpha, Colutea and Robinia). Goats ingested higher (p ≤ 0.05) browse of Fraxinus (268 g DM) and Ostrya (285 g DM) than the remaining browses (22–177 g DM) and alfalfa pellets (170 g DM) during July, but of Robinia and alfalfa (469 and 434 g DM, respectively) in September. During September, intake of all supplement feeds increased compared to July except for Ostrya, which remained constant. Goats supplemented by alfalfa pellets and browse supplements gained weight in both these periods in contrast to the animals grazing only kermes oak shrubland, except for Amorpha and Colutea in July. It is concluded that during summer, when the forage quality of kermes oak shrubland declines, browse supplement with certain deciduous woody fodder plants allows weight gains similar to those of alfalfa pellets; thereby, improving grazing animal performance.  相似文献

Isoetes coreana Chung and Choi is on the list of critically endangered species in South Korea. Using randomly amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD) markers, we investigated the genetic diversity within and between seven local populations of I. coreana. Ten RAPD primers produced a total of 94 bands, of which 59 (62.8%) were polymorphic. A low level of genetic diversity was recognized within the populations of I. coreana: polymorphic loci (P), with values ranging from 3.4% to 33.9%, and a mean value of 15.5% being observed. Analysis of molecular variance (AMOVA) showed that genetic diversity was greater among populations (81.6%) than within populations (19.7%) or among the three regions included in this study (Han River, Youngsan River, and Nakdong River). In addition, a high degree of genetic differentiation (θB = 0.742) was detected among the populations. These results indicate that genetic differentiation has occurred very rapidly. However, the rate of gene flow between populations was found to be as low as 0.059, irrespective of the genetic and geographical distances between the populations, which indicates that genetic drift must have played an important role in forming the present populations of I. coreana. Because a reduction of genetic diversity as a result of genetic drift is undesirable, increasing the gene flow between populations of Korean quillwort I. coreana should be considered as a conservation strategy.  相似文献

The ichnogenus Schaubcylindrichnus has been considered as a cluster of multiple J-shaped tubes, all of which show congruency. Based on such a reconstruction, the trace fossil has commonly been regarded as dwelling tubes of gregarious, head-down deposit-feeding animals.

Well-preserved specimens of Schaubcylindrichnus are found in Miocene and Pleistocene strata of Japan. The trace fossil consists of a bundle of closely spaced, thickly lined tubes, each of which shows a gentle bow-like bend curving downward in a vertical to oblique plane. As individual tubes in a single bundle frequently show size-gradation of diameter, branching and/or cross-cutting, it is probable that the bundle was formed through successive burrowing by a solitary producer. In a longitudinal section of well-preserved specimens, a funnel-like, sediment-filled structure, which is attached to an upper end of a limb of the bow-shaped bundle, is observed. At the other end of the limb, there is a mound-like structure of sediment that is piled up from the bedding surface. The trace fossil was probably a burrow system of a solitary funnel-feeding animal, like an enteropneust.

According to comparisons with type specimens of the ichnospecies of Schaubcylindrichnus, namely, topotypes of Schaubcylindrichnus coronus and holotype and paratypes of S. freyi, S. freyi can be regarded as a junior synonym of S. coronus. As the topotype specimens of S. coronus have many common features with the traces in Japan, the latter should be included in the former. S. coronus therefore is concluded as the burrow system of a solitary funnel feeder.  相似文献

Examination of the aerial parts of Eriostemon coccineus and Philotheca citrina has shown both to contain the unusual pyranocoumarins avicennol, avicennin and cis-avicennol. Three minor coumarins isolated from P. citrina have been identified as avicennol methyl ether, cis-avicennol methyl ether and avicennol ethyl ether. Philotheca citrina also yielded another pyranocoumarin, dipetalolactone, and the common lignan sesamin. Eriostemon coccineus, in addition to coumarins, gave the furoquinoline alkaloids maculosidine and γ-fagarine and two dihydrocinnanic acid derivatives, eriostoic acid and a new compound with a substitution pattern comparable to cis-avicennin and which has been assigned the trivial name cis-avicennic acid. The co-occurrence of these rare pyranocoumarins supports the contention that Philotheca is closely allied to certain taxa currently placed in Eriostemon sect. Nigrostipulae.  相似文献

唇鱼骨和间鱼骨均为分布较广的初级淡水鱼类,是理想的亲缘地理研究材料;且两者形态特征较为相似,不易鉴别,故两者的分布记述和物种有效性存在争议.为了解我国南部唇鱼骨和间鱼骨的群体遗传结构并探讨两者的物种有效性,本研究对8条水系的唇鱼骨和9条水系的间鱼骨共130尾个体的COIND5基因序列片段进行了测定,并对这两个基因的组合序列(2151 bp)进行了分析.结果表明: 在130尾个体的COIND5基因组合序列中,共有196个核苷酸变异位点,共检测出50个单倍型,单倍型多样性为0.964,核苷酸多样性为0.019,遗传多样性较高.基于COIND5基因组合序列构建的 NJ 树显示,所有种群可分为两支,支系Ⅰ包含了韩江和九龙江的全部单倍型以及瓯江的部分单倍型,余下的单倍型组成了支系Ⅱ.两支系间的遗传距离为0.036,而唇鱼骨与间鱼骨之间的遗传距离为0.027.单倍型网络图表明,韩江、九龙江种群和其他水系种群分化较大;漠阳江种群由海南岛种群扩散而来;海南岛各种群及漠阳江种群的单倍型分支与珠江水系单倍型的分支之间的亲缘关系较近,与长江水系单倍型分支之间的亲缘关系则较远;湘江、桂江和柳江之间的亲缘关系较近.AMOVA分析结果显示,地理区之间的变异约占71.2%,地理区内种群间变异约占16.6%,种群内的变异占12.2%,表明其遗传分化主要来自地理区之间.错配分析及中性检验结果显示,全部种群、唇鱼骨种群、间鱼骨种群、支系Ⅰ和支系Ⅱ在历史上均没有发生过明显的扩张.  相似文献

Both the fossil record and molecular data support a long evolutionary history for the Araceae. Although the family is diverse in tropical America today, most araceous fossils, however, have been recorded from middle and high latitudes. Here, we report fossil leaves of Araceae from the middle-late Paleocene of northern Colombia, and review fossil araceous pollen grains from the same interval. Two of the fossil leaf species are placed in the new fossil morphogenus Petrocardium Herrera, Jaramillo, Dilcher, Wing et Gomez-N gen. nov.; these fossils are very similar in leaf morphology to extant Anthurium; however, their relationship to the genus is still unresolved. A third fossil leaf type from Cerrejón is recognized as a species of the extant genus Montrichardia, the first fossil record for this genus. These fossils inhabited a coastal rainforest ~60-58 million years ago with broadly similar habitat preferences to modern Araceae.  相似文献

Based on characters of the fertile fronds, two species of fossil ferns from the Lower Cretaceous Potomac Group of the U.S.A., originally described as species of Osmunda by Fontaine in 1889, are transferred to the genus Anemia. The two species display primitive characters for that genus. Analysis of these and other characters of Anemia and related species, using parsimony and compatibility programs, suggests possible phylogenetic arrangements and facilitates delimination of three taxonomic units within Anemia that were already distinct during Cretaceous time. The subgenera Coptophyllum and Anemia are shown to be paraphyletic in the suggested phylogenies and the schemes agree with the known stratigraphy of the fossil ferns.  相似文献

The Petunia system is described together with its possible use for molecular research on floral development. Developmental mutants are described in some detail. The most interesting mutants are Blind and Green petals. In both the appearance of only the petals has changed, in Blind towards antheroid tissue, in Green petals towards sepals. A crude lipase prepared from Carica pentagona Heilborn latex was explored as an effective enantioselective biocatalyst for the hydrolytic resolution of (R,S)-naproxen 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl ester in water-saturated organic solvents. Comparisons of the enzyme performance with that from Carica papaya lipase indicated that both lipases showed low tolerance to the hydrophilic solvent and were inhibited by (S)-naproxen and 2,2,2-trifluoroethanol. Improvements on the enzyme activity and enantioselectivty were demonstrated when both lipases in partially purified forms were employed. By using the thermodynamic analysis, the enantiomeric discrimination was mainly driven by the difference of activation enthalpy for all reaction systems except for employing Carica papaya lipase as the biocatalyst for (R,S)-fenoprofen 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl thioester.  相似文献

Genetic variation at 33 enzymic and other protein loci was examined for 16 populations of Cottus confusus and six populations of C. cognatus from the Flathead River system in north-western Montana. Expression of alternate alleles at six loci permits complete separation of the two species. Allozymic variation in Cottus from one locality indicates the existence of a narrow zone of hybridization between the two species. Hybridization occurs in a disturbed habitat where hypolimnion release of water from a dam maintained for power generation has resulted in altered thermal regimes and habitat structure.  相似文献

以塔里木盆地南缘关键物种疏叶骆驼刺为材料,研究了不同盐渍土壤生境(轻度盐渍土、中度盐渍土、重度盐渍土)下其器官间Na+、K+、Ca2+、Mg2+的分布、吸收及运输特征,以探讨疏叶骆驼刺对自然盐渍生境的适应特性.结果表明: 在轻度和中度盐渍土生境,Na+在各器官中的分布规律为茎≈刺>叶>根,而在重度盐渍土生境,Na+分布规律为叶>茎≈刺>根;Ca2+和Mg2+在疏叶骆驼刺体内的分布规律为叶>刺>茎>根.随着土壤含盐量的增加,疏叶骆驼刺体内各器官Na+含量都增大,而叶片中K+含量呈下降趋势;根和叶器官中K+/Na+值明显降低,各器官中Ca2+/Na+、Mg2+/Na+值都降低.盐渍生境下,疏叶骆驼刺体内Ca2+选择性运输系数和Mg2+选择性运输系数均为茎-叶>茎-刺>根-茎.疏叶骆驼刺为适应盐渍生境,在土壤含盐量较低时,将Na+聚集于茎和刺;而在土壤含盐量较高时,则将Na+聚集于叶片.此外,Ca2+和Mg2+可能是疏叶骆驼适应盐渍生境的无机渗透调节物质.  相似文献
