NMR measurements of the diffusional permeability of the human adult red blood cell (RBC) membrane to water (P d) and of the activation energy (E a,d) of the process furnished values of P d ~ 4 × 10?3 cm/s at 25 °C and ~6.1 × 10?3 cm/s at 37 °C, and E a,d ~ 26 kJ/mol. Comparative NMR measurements for other species showed: (1) monotremes (echidna and platypus), chicken, little penguin, and saltwater crocodile have the lowest P d values; (2) sheep, cow, and elephant have P d values lower than human P d values; (3) cat, horse, alpaca, and camel have P d values close to those of humans; (4) guinea pig, dog, dingo, agile wallaby, red-necked wallaby, Eastern grey kangaroo, and red kangaroo have P d values higher than those of humans; (5) mouse, rat, rabbit, and “small and medium size” marsupials have the highest values of P d (>8.0 × 10?3 cm/s at 25 °C and >10.0 × 10?3 cm/s at 37 °C). There are peculiarities of E a,d values for the RBCs from different species. The maximum inhibition of diffusional permeability of RBCs induced by incubation with p-chloromercuribenzene sulfonate varied between 0 % (for the chicken and little penguin) to ~50 % (for human, mouse, cat, sheep, horse, camel, and Indian elephant), and ~60–75 % (for rat, guinea pig, rabbit, dog, alpaca, and all marsupials). These results indicate that no water channel proteins (WCPs) or aquaporins are present in the membrane of RBCs from monotremes (echidna, platypus), chicken, little penguin and saltwater crocodile whereas WCPs from the membranes of RBCs from marsupials have peculiarities.  相似文献

As part of a programme of comparative measurements of P d (diffusional water permeability) the RBCs (red blood cells) from dingo (Canis familiaris dingo) and greyhound dog (Canis familiaris) were studied. The morphologies of the dingo and greyhound RBCs [examined by light and SEM (scanning electron microscopy)] were found to be very similar, with regard to aspect ratio and size; the mean diameters were estimated to be the same (~7.2 μm) for both dingo and greyhound RBCs. The water diffusional permeability was monitored by using an Mn2+‐doping 1H NMR technique at 400 MHz. The P d (cm/s) values of dingo and greyhound RBCs were similar: 6.5×10?3 at 25°C, 7.5×10?3 at 30°C, 10×10?3 at 37°C and 11.5×10?3 at 42°C. The inhibitory effect of a mercury‐containing SH (sulfhydryl)‐modifying reagent PCMBS (p‐chloromercuribenzene sulfonate) was investigated. The maximal inhibition of dingo and greyhound RBCs was reached in 15–30 min at 37°C with 2 mmol/l PCMBS. The values of maximal inhibition were in the range 72–74% when measured at 25°C and 30°C, and ~66% at 37°C. The lowest value of P d (corresponding to the basal permeability to water) was ~2–3×10?3 cm/s in the temperature range 25–37°C. The E a,d (activation energy of water diffusion) was 25 kJ/mol for dingo RBC and 23 kJ/mol for greyhound RBCs. After incubation with PCMBS, the values of E a,d increased, reaching 46–48 kJ/mol in the condition of maximal inhibition of water exchange. The electrophoretograms of membrane polypeptides of the dingo and greyhound RBCs were compared and seen to be very similar. We postulate that the RBC parameters reported in the present study are characteristic of all canine species and, in particular in the two cases presented here, these parameters have not been changed by the peculiar Australian habitat over the millennia (as in the case of the dingo) or over shorter time periods, decades or centuries (as in the case of the domestic greyhound).  相似文献

The nature of internal and overall motions in native (double-stranded) and denatured (single-stranded) DNA fragments 120–160 base pairs (bp) long is examined by molecular-dynamics modeling using 13C-nmr spin-relaxation data obtained over the frequency range of 37–125 MHz. The broad range of 13C frequencies is required to differentiate among various models. Relatively narrow linewidths, large nuclear Overhauser enhancements (NOEs), and short T1 values all vary significantly with frequency and indicate the presence of rapid, restricted internal motions on the nanosecond time scale. For double-stranded DNA monomer fragments (147 bp, 24 Å diam at 32°C), the overall motion is that of an axially symmetric cylinder (τx = ~10?6 s;τZ = ~1.8 × 10?8s), which is in good agreement with values calculated from hydrodynamic theory (τx = ~1.8 × 10?6 s; τZ = ~2.7 × 10?8 s). The DNA internal motion can be modeled as restricted amplitude internal diffusion of individual C? H vectors of deoxyribose methine carbons C1′, C3′, and C4′, either with conic boundary conditions (τw = ~4 × 10?9 s, θcone = ~21°) or as a bistable jump (τA = τB = ~2 × 10?9 s, θ = ~15°). We discuss the critical role in molecular-dynamics modeling played by the angle (β) that individual C? H vectors make with the long axis of the DNA helix. Heat denaturation brings about increases in both the rate and amplitude of the internal motion (described by the wobble model with τW = ~0.2 × 10?9 s, θcone = ~50°), and overall motion is affected by becoming essentially isotropic (τx = τZ = ~5 × 10?8 s) for the single-stranded molecules. Since 13C-nmr data obtained at various DNA concentrations for C2′ of the deoxyribose ring is not described well by the above models, a new model incorporating an additional internal motion is proposed to take into account the rapid, extensive, and weakly coupled motion of C2′.  相似文献

Symbiodinium californium (#383, Banaszak et al. 1993 ) is one of two known dinoflagellate symbionts of the intertidal sea anemones Anthopleura elegantissima, A. xanthogrammica, and A. sola and occurs only in hosts at southern latitudes of the North Pacific. To investigate if temperature restricts the latitudinal distribution of S. californium, growth and photosynthesis at a range of temperatures (5°C–30°C) were determined for cultured symbionts. Mean specific growth rates were the highest between 15°C and 28°C (μ 0.21–0.26 · d?1) and extremely low at 5, 10, and 30°C (0.02–0.03 · d?1). Average doubling times ranged from 2.7 d (20°C) to 33 d (5, 10, and 30°C). Cells cultured at 10°C had the greatest cell volume (821 μm3) and the highest percentage of motile cells (64.5%). Growth and photosynthesis were uncoupled; light‐saturated maximum photosynthesis (Pmax) increased from 2.9 pg C · cell?1 · h?1 at 20°C to 13.2 pg C · cell?1 · h?1 at 30°C, a 4.5‐fold increase. Less than 11% of daily photosynthetically fixed carbon was utilized for growth at 5, 10, and 30°C, indicating the potential for high carbon translocation at these temperatures. Low temperature effects on growth rate, and not on photosynthesis and cell morphology, may restrict the distribution of S. californium to southern populations of its host anemones.  相似文献

The swimming performance of juvenile shortnose sturgeon (~16 cm TL, ~20 g), Acipenser brevirostrum, was quantified with regards to temperature (5 to 25°C) using both increased (Ucrit) and fixed velocity (endurance) tests in a laboratory setting. Sturgeons were found to show reduced Ucrit values at 5 and 10°C (25.99 and 28.86 cm s?1 respectively), with performance beginning to plateau at 15°C through 25°C (33.99 cm s?1). For the endurance protocol, fish were tested at speeds of 35, 40 and 45 cm s?1 at 5, 15 and 25°C. Performance within a single speed was similar at all temperatures, indicating the usage of anaerobic metabolism to fuel locomotion at these higher velocities. Overall, shortnose sturgeon demonstrated high tolerance towards a wide range of temperatures but showed few differences between performance levels at colder or warmer water conditions.  相似文献

The estuarine dinoflagellate, Prorocentrum mariaelebouriae (Parke & Ballantine 1957) Faust 1974 undergoes increases in pigmentation and photosynthetic efficiency within several days of downward light shifts. These changes can be described by first-order kinetics, as has been reported previously for Chlorophyll (Chl) a in several phytoplankton species. The studies described in this paper were conducted with isolates of populations of Prorocentrum from the Chesapeake Bay. We determined rates of adaptation to low-light for cultures grown at a range of photon flux densities (I0= 2.65–26.2 E.m?2, d?1, shifted to 6.3–7.0% I0) at three temperatures (10°, 15°, and 20° C), bracketing the conditions this species experiences in situ. In this paper, I report the time-course of changes in α, Pmax Chl a, peridinin, and Ik and first-order rate constants, K1 for changes in α, Chl a and peridinin. cell?1. K1 for changes in α cell?1 averaged 1.58 × 10?2 h?1 for conditions encompassing five light treatments and three temperatures; the corresponding mean for Chl a was 1.59 × 10?2 h?1. Increases in peridinin measured for five light treatments at 15° C showed a mean K1 of 1.22 × 10?2 h?1, Average percent changes in per cell α, Chl a, and peridinin ranged from 0.4–4.0% h?1 (10–90% d?1) following exposure to low-light. Photoadaptive changes are important to Prorocentrum because in nature it occupies turbid waters (Kt≥ 0.5 m?1) where the mixing depth often exceeds the depth of the photic layer. Cells are entrained beneath a seasonally-stable density discontinuity and are exposed to very low-light (< I E.m?2.d?1) for days to weeks during subpycnocline transport. The ability of this species to undergo changes in pigmentation and photosynthetic physiology confers increased efficiency of light harvesting and contributes to this species’survival in the estuary where it is an important component of the dinoflagellate flora.  相似文献

An extensive programme of comparative nuclear magnetic resonance measurements of the membrane diffusional permeability for water (Pd) and of the activation energy (Ea,d) of this process in red blood cells (RBCs) from 21 mammalian species was carried out. On the basis of Pd, these species could be divided into three groups. First, the RBC's from humans, cow, sheep and “large” kangaroos (Macropus giganteus and Macropus rufus) had Pd values 5 × 10−3 cm/s at 25°C and 7 × 10−3 cm/s at 37°C. The RBCs from other marsupial species, mouse, rat, guinea pig and rabbit, had Pd values roughly twice higher, whereas echidna RBCs were twice lower than human RBCs. The value of Ea,d was in most cases correlated with the values of Pd. A value of Ea,d -26 kJ/mol was found for the RBCs from humans and the species having similar Pd values. Low values of Ea,d (ranging from 15 to 22 kJ/mol) appeared to be associated with relatively high values of Pd. The highest value of Ea,d (33 kJ/mol) was found in echidna RBCs. This points to specialized channels for water diffusion incorporated in membrane proteins; a relatively high water permeability of the RBC membrane could be due to a greater number of channel proteins. There are, however, situations where a very high water permeability of RBCs is associated with a high value of Ea,d (above 25 kJ/mol) as in the case of RBCs from mouse, rat and tree kangaroo. Moreover, it was found that Pd in different species was positively correlated to the RBC membrane phosphatidylcholine and negatively correlated to the sphingomyelin content. This suggests that in addition to the number of channel proteins, other factors are involved in the water permeability of the RBC membrane.  相似文献

Abstract Using an open-system leaf chamber, gas exchange measurements on attached leaves of 3-4-year-old Golden Delicious apple trees, made through two seasons, provided data from which the parameters of a leaf photosynthesis model could be derived. The equation is: where C1 is internal CO2 concentration and Qp is the incident quantum flux. There was considerable leaf to leaf variation in the values of the parameters but no clear seasonal trends were established. The initial slope (a) had an average value of about 2.5 × 10?3 mg μmol?1? (i.e. quantum yield ~ 0.057); the mesophyll conductance (gm) was about 3.5 mm s?1 in extension leaves of trees carrying fruit and 2.5 mm s?1 in extension leaves of defruited trees. Differences between the values of gm for spur leaves with and without subtending fruits were not significant; 2.5 mm s?1 may be used. Dark respiration (Rd, mg m?2 s?1) increased exponentially with temperature (T°C); Rd~ 0.006 exp (0.09 T). At saturating photon flux density Pn was linearly related to Ci, up to Ci~ 250 mg m?3. Optimum temperatures for Pn were slightly different in the two years and were in the range 16-26°C.  相似文献

The effect of temperature on the silicon limited growth and nutrient kinetics of Stephanodiscus minutus Grun. was examined using batch and semicontinuous culture methods. Short-term batch culture methods gave maximum growth rates which were essentially constant over the temperature range of 10° to 20°C (μ3= 0.71–0.80 d?1). The half-saturation constant for growth (Ks) was significantly lowest at 10°C (Ks= 0.31 μM Si; 0.22–0.41), and higher at both 15°C (Ks= 1.03 μM Si; 0.68–1.47) and 20°C (Ks= 0.88 μM Si; 0.60–1.22). Two methods were used to evaluate the semicontinuous experiments. The Droop relationship showed that the minimum cell quota was about 1.50 × 10?7 nmol Si cell?1, but there was much overlap in the results at all three temperatures. The Monod growth relationship for the semicontinuous experiments gave estimates of Ks which were lowest at 15°C (Ks= 0.12 μM Si), and higher at 10°C (Ks= 0.68 μM Si) and 20°C (Ks= 1.24 μM Si), although 95% confidence intervals overlapped. The maximum growth rate estimates for the semicontinuous experiments were similar at 10° and 15°, and higher at 20°C, but the number of points used in making the calculations makes the results less reliable than those from batch cultures. Generally, there were no consistent significant differences in the silicon limited growth of S. minutus over the temperature range studied. Our values of Ks for S. minutus are the lowest recorded for a freshwater diatom, and are consistent with the distribution of this species in nature. Generally, this species becomes abundant in areas with high phosphorus loading and very low silicon levels (low Si:P loading rates). Stephanodiscus species are also fossil indicators of eutrophication in north temperate lakes.  相似文献

Growth responses of Pithophora oedogonia (Mont.) Wittr. and Spirogyra sp. to nine combinations of temperature (15°, 25°, and 35°C) and photon flux rate (50, 100, and 500 μmol·m?2·s?1) were determined using a three-factorial design. Maximum growth rates were measured at 35°C and 500 pmol·m?2·s?1 for P. oedogonia (0.247 d?1) and 25°C and 500 μmol·m?2·s?1 for Spirogyra sp. (0.224 d?1). Growth rates of P. oedogonia were strongly inhibited at 15°C (average decrease= 89%of maximum rate), indicating that this species is warm stenothermal. Growth rates of Spirogyra sp. were only moderately inhibited at 15° and 35°C (average decrease = 36 and 30%, respectively), suggesting that this species is eurythermal over the temperature range employed. Photon flux rate had a greater influence on growth of Spirogyra sp. (31% reduction at 50 pmol·m?2·s?1 and 25°C) than it did on growth of P. oedogonia (16% reduction at 50 μmol·m?2·s?1 and 35°C). Spirogyra sp. also exhibited much greater adjustments to its content of chlorophyll a (0.22–3.34 μg·mg fwt?1) than did P. oedogonia (1.35–3.08 μg·mg fwt?1). The chlorophyll a content of Spirogyra sp. increased in response to both reductions in photon flux rate and high temperatures (35°C). Observed species differences are discussed with respect to in situ patterns of seasonal abundance in Surrey Lake, Indiana, the effect of algal mat anatomy on the internal light environment, and the process of acclimation to changes in temperature and irradiance conditions.  相似文献

Aim of the present study was to characterize the pituitary GnRH receptor in white sturgeon, Acipenser transmontanus, using a superagonist analog of mammalian GnRH [D‐Ala6, des‐Gly10–Pro9]‐ethylamide and to investigate the possible effect of estradiol‐17β treatment on the concentration and affinity of the GnRH receptor in immature white sturgeon. The binding of 125I‐GnRH‐A to sturgeon pituitary receptors was rapid and saturable at 4°C and 20°C. However, maximal binding at 20°C was almost two‐fold greater than the highest binding noted at 4°C. Specific binding of radioligand was directly related to the amount of tissue included in the assay system over the range of 5–20 mg fresh tissue equivalents per ml. The binding capacity of 125I‐GnRH‐A with sturgeon pituitary tissue was much greater than radiolabeled GnRH. Administration of E2 to immature sturgeon caused an almost two‐fold increase in GnRH‐A binding capacity (E2 treated: Bmax = 2.87 fmoles 3 mg?1 FTE; control: Bmax = 1.70 fmoles 3 mg?1), and did not affect GnRH‐A binding affinity (E2 treated: Ka = 0.13 × 1011 m ?1; control: Ka = 0.15 × 1011 m ?1). Overall, the study provides evidence that the GnRH analog is effective for characterizing the GnRH receptor in white sturgeon; however, more experimentation is necessary to determine whether E2 administration to immature white sturgeon can increase the GnRH receptor capacity.  相似文献

Abstract

The effect of pH and temperature on the apparent association equilibrium constant (Ka) for the binding of the bovine and porcine pancreatic secretory trypsin inhibitor (Kazal-type inhibitor, PSTI) to human leukocyte elastase has been investigated. At pH8.0, values of the apparent thermodynamic parameters for human leukocyte elastase: Kazal-type inhibitor complex formation are: bovine PSTT – Ka = 6.3 × 104M?1, δ5G° = -26.9kJ/mol, δH° = +11.7kJ/mol, and δS° = +1.3 × 102 entropy units; porcine PSTI –Ka = 7.0 × 103M?1,δG° = -21.5kJ/mol, δH° = +13.0kJ/mol, and δS° = +1.2 × 102 entropy units (values of Ka δG° and δS° were obtained at 21.0°C; values of δH° were temperature independent over the range (between 5.0°C and 45.0°C) explored). On increasing the pH from 4.5 to 9.5, values of Ka for bovine and porcine PSTI binding to human leukocyte elastase increase thus reflecting the acidic pK-shift of the His57 catalytic residue from ?7.0, in the free enzyme, to ?5.1, in the serine proteinase: inhibitor complexes. Thermodynamics of bovine and porcine PSTI binding to human leukocyte elastase has been analyzed in parallel with that of related serine (pro)enzyme/Kazal-type inhibitor systems. Considering the known molecular models, the observed binding behaviour of bovine and porcine PSTI to human leukocyte elastase was related to the inferred stereochemistry of the serine proteinase/inhibitor contact region(s).  相似文献

Community metabolism and air-sea carbon dioxide (CO2) fluxes were investigated in July 1992 on a fringing reef at Moorea (French Polynesia). The benthic community was dominated by macroalgae (85% substratum cover) and comprised of Phaeophyceae Padina tenuis (Bory), Turbinaria ornata (Turner) J. Agardh, and Hydroclathrus clathratus Bory (Howe); Chlorophyta Halimeda incrassata f. ovata J. Agardh (Howe); and Ventricaria ventricosa J. Agardh (Olsen et West), as well as several Rhodophyta (Actinotrichia fragilis Forskál (Børgesen) and several species of encrusting coralline algae). Algal biomass was 171 g dry weight· m?2. Community gross production (Pg), respiration (R), and net calcification (G) were measured in an open-top enclosure. Pg and R were respectively 248 and 240 mmol Co2·m?2·d?1, and there was a slight net dissolution of CaCO3 (0.8 mmol · m?2·d?1). This site was a sink for atmospheric CO2 (10 ± 4 mmol CO2·m?2·d?1), and the analysis of data from the literature suggests that this is a general feature of algal-dominated reefs. Measurement of air-sea CO2 fluxes in open water close to the enclosure demonstrated that changes in small-scale hydrodynamics can lead to misleading conclusions. Net CO2 evasion to the atmosphere was measured on the fringing reef due to changes in the current pattern that drove water from the barrier reef (a C02 source) to the study site.  相似文献

The local electrostatic order in polyelectrolytic solutions has been studied by magnetic birefringence measurements on short segments (n ~ 34) of the (Tyr-Glu)n polypeptide in high magnetic fields up to 13 T. We give evidence that only above a critical polymer concentration do small domains exist within which the polymers show a parallel ordering. This structural order disappears suddenly at ionic strengths above about 5 × 10?2 M and above a melting temperature of about 50°C.  相似文献

The kinetics of the coil-to-helix transition of (dG-dC)3 in M NaCl, 45 mM sodium cacodylate, pH 7, were measured in H2O, D2O, 10 mol % ethanol, 10 mol % urea, and 10 mol % glycerol. At 43°C in H2O the recombination rate is 1.3 ± 0.2 × 107 M?1 s?1; the dissociation rate is 68 ± 10 s?1. The destabilization of the helix in 10 mol % ethanol and 10 mol % urea relative to water is primarily due to a large increase in the helix-dissociation rate. In 10 mol % glycerol, the destabilization of the helix is due to a decrease in the recombination rate and an increase in the dissociation rate. Above 20°C, two exponential decays longer than 1 μs are observed after a temperature jump. The slower relaxation time is 4–10 times faster than the bimolecular component and is independent of oligomer concentration. We attribute this relaxation to a rapid equilibrium between two helical states. At low temperatures and oligomer concentrations of 1 mM or greater, the helices aggregate in 1M NaCl. Experimental data are presented under conditions where aggregation is unimportant and evidence is given that the ΔH-determined spectroscopically is unaffected by aggregation.  相似文献

The z‐average mean‐square radius of gyration 〈S2z, the particle scattering function P(k), the second virial coefficient, and the intrinsic viscosity [η] have been determined for amylose tris(phenylcarbamate) (ATPC) in methyl acetate (MEA) at 25°C, in ethyl acetate (EA) at 33°C, and in 4‐methyl‐2‐pentanone (MIBK) at 25°C by light and small‐angle X‐ray scattering and viscometry as functions of the weight‐average molecular weight in a range from 2 × 104 to 3 × 106. The first two solvents attain the theta state, whereas the last one is a good solvent for the amylose derivative. Analysis of the 〈S2z, P(k), and [η] data based on the wormlike chain yields h (the contour length or helix pitch per repeating unit) = 0.37 ± 0.02 and λ?1 (the Kuhn segment length) = 15 ± 2 nm in MEA, h = 0.39 ± 0.02 and λ?1 = 17 ± 2 nm in EA, and h = 0.42 ± 0.02 nm and λ?1 = 24 ± 2 nm in MIBK. These h values, comparable with the helix pitches (0.37–0.40 nm) per residue of amylose triesters in the crystalline state, are somewhat larger than the previously determined h of 0.33 ± 0.02 nm for ATPC in 1,4‐dioxane and 2‐ethoxyethanol, in which intramolecular hydrogen bonds are formed between the C?O and NH groups of the neighbor repeating units. The slightly extended helices of ATPC in the ketone and ester solvents are most likely due to the replacement of those hydrogen bonds by intermolecular hydrogen bonds between the NH groups of the polymer and the carbonyl groups of the solvent. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The osmotic permeability coefficient (Pf) for water movement across Novikoff hepatoma cells was found to be 82 ± 3 (S.E.) · 10?5 cm · s?1 at 20°C. The corresponding diffusional permeability coefficient for 3HHO (Pd) was 97 ± 10 (S.E.) · 10?5 cm · s?1, therefore the ratio PfPd is close to unity. The apparent activation energy for water filtration was 10.4 ± 0.4 (S.E.) kcal · mol?1. This value is significantly greater than the activation energy for the self diffusion of water. The product of the hydraulic permeability coefficient and the viscosity coefficient for water was temperature-dependent. However, the product of the hydraulic permeability coefficient and the viscosity coefficient for membrane lipid did not vary with temperature. These data are interpreted as evidence for water movement across a lipid membrane barrier rather than through aqueous channels.  相似文献

We isolated the unialgal strain of Cylindotheca closterium (Ehrenb.) Reimann et J. C. Lewin and produced an axenic strain using an antibiotic cocktail of enriched f/2 artificial seawater medium. The optimal growth conditions were estimated under 27 different combinations of temperature, salinity, and nutrients, and mass culture was performed based on the best specific growth conditions. Its antioxidant activities were determined from the extracts of methanol, water, and enzymes (proteases and carbohydrases). The maximum specific growth rate (μmax) varied from 0.63 to 0.97 · d?1. The maximum cell density was 7.20 × 104 cells · mL?1, while the μmax was 0.82 · d?1 in culture conditions of 20°C, 30 psu (practical salinity unit), and “F” nutrient concentrations on day 10 of the culture period. The scavenging rates for 1,1‐diphenyl‐2‐picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical were 72.5% and 69.4% from Viscozyme and methanol extracts, respectively. The enzymatic extracts of C. closterium prepared by the hydrolyses of Amyloglucosidase (AMG) and Viscozyme showed 45.8% and 45.5% nitric‐oxide‐scavenging rates, slightly lower than the activity of alpha‐tocopherol (α‐tocopherol) but similar to butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT). The extract from methanol and water showed 44.8% and 44.4% scavenging rates, statistically similar with BHT. The metal‐chelating activities of the Kojizyme, Alcalase, methanol, Viscozyme, and Neutrase extracts were 67.1, 53.9, 53.2, 52.1, and 50.2 %, respectively, five to six times higher than the commercial antioxidants. The AMG, Viscozyme, and Neutrase extracts showed a remarkable linoleic acid peroxidation inhibition, which was higher than BHT and statistically similar with α‐tocopherol.  相似文献

Light intensity and temperature interactions have a complex effect on the physiological process rates of the filamentous bluegreen alga Anabaena variabilis Kütz. The optimum temperature for photosynthesis increased with increasing light intensity from 10°C at 42 μE·m?2·s?1 to 35°C at 562 μE·m?2·s?1. The light saturation parameter, IK, increased with increasing temperatures. The maximum photosynthetic rate (2.0 g C·g dry wt.?1·d?1) occurred at 35°C and 564 μE·m?2·s?1. At 15°C, the maximum rate was 1.25 g C·g dry wt.?1·d?1 at 332 μE·m?2·s?1. The dark respiration rate increased exponentially with temperature. Under favorable conditions of light intensity and temperature the percent of extracellular release of dissolved organic carbon was less than 5% of the total C fixed. This release increased to nearly 40% under combinations of low light intensity and high temperature. A mathematical model was developed to simulate the interaction of light intensity and temperature on photosynthetic rate. The interactive effects were represented by making the light-saturation parameters a function of temperature.  相似文献
