The binding of [Dy(dmp)2Cl3(OH2)], where dmp is 2,9-dimethyl 1,10-phenanthroline, with Fish salmon DNA (FS-DNA) is investigated by absorption and emission spectroscopy, quenching studies, salt dependent, and gel electrophoresis. The binding constant (Kb) of the interaction is calculated as (1.27 ± .05) × 105 M?1 from absorption spectral titration data. The Stern–Volmer constant (KSV), thermodynamic parameters involves ΔG°, ?H°, and ?S° are calculated by fluorescent data and Van’t Hoff equation. The thermodynamic studies show that the reaction for the binding of the complex with FS-DNA is endothermic and entropically driven (Δ > 0, ΔH° > 0). The effect of the complex concentration on FS-DNA cleavage reactions is also investigated by gel electrophoresis. Furthermore, the Dy(III) complex has been screened for its antibacterial activity. The experimental results suggest that the Dy(III) complex binds significantly to FS-DNA by hydrophobic groove binding mode and the complex has more efficient antibacterial activity compared to its metal salt.  相似文献

As promising cathode materials, the lithium‐excess 3d‐transition‐metal layered oxides can deliver much higher capacities (>250 mAh g?1 at 0.1 C) than the current commercial layered oxide materials (≈180 mAh g?1 at 0.1 C) used in lithium ion batteries. Unfortunately, the original formation mechanism of these layered oxides during synthesis is not completely elucidated, that is, how is lithium and oxygen inserted into the matrix structure of the precursor during lithiation reaction? Here, a promising and practical method, a coprecipitation route followed by a microwave heating process, for controllable synthesis of cobalt‐free lithium‐excess layered compounds is reported. A series of the consistent results unambiguously confirms that oxygen atoms are successively incorporated into the precursor obtained by a coprecipitation process to maintain electroneutrality and to provide the coordination sites for inserted Li ions and transition metal cations via a high‐temperature lithiation. It is found that the electrochemical performances of the cathode materials are strongly related to the phase composition and preparation procedure. The monoclinic layered Li[Li0.2Ni0.2Mn0.6]O2 cathode materials with state‐of‐the‐art electrochemical performance and comparably high discharge capacities of 171 mAh g?1 at 10 C are obtained by microwave annealing at 750 °C for 2 h.  相似文献

Fullerene-based bi-functional nanocomposite thin film (Ag nanoparticles embedded in fullerene C70 matrix) is synthesized by thermal co-deposition method. Thermal stability of Ag-C70 nanocomposite is investigated by annealing the nanocomposite thin film at different temperatures from 80 to 350 °C for 30 min. Optical and structural properties of nanocomposite thin film with respect to high temperature are studied by UV-visible spectroscopy and x-ray diffraction, respectively. Transmission electron microscopy is performed to observe the temperature-dependent size evolution of Ag nanoparticles in fullerene C70 matrix. A large growth of Ag nanoparticles is observed with temperature especially above 200 °C due to enhanced diffusion of Ag in fullerene C70 at higher temperature and Ostwald ripening. The properties of metal-fullerene nanocomposite is not significantly affected up to a temperature of 150 °C. With a further increase in temperature, a major blue shift of ~?33 nm in SPR wavelength is seen at a temperature of 300 °C due to the thermal induced structural transformation of fullerene C70 matrix into amorphous carbon. A very large-sized Ag nanoparticle with a wide size distribution varying from 27.8 ± 0.6 to 330.0 ± 4.5 nm is seen at 350 °C and due to which, a red shift of ~?16 nm is obtained at this temperature. This study throws light on the thermal stability of the devices based on metal-fullerene bi-functional nanocomposite.  相似文献

Age, growth and density of Siberian sculpin (Cottus poecilopus) and young brown trout (Salmo trutta) within two sections of River Atna; above Lake Atnsjøen [Section 1 at altitudes between 739 and 715 m] and below Lake Atnsjøen [Section 2 at altitudes between 430 and 370 m] was studied during a 6-year period (1986–91). The water temperature was considerably lower in Section 1 than in Section 2, as the number of days with a water temperature above 10?°C (T D ≥ 10?° C ) from spring to August 1 ranged between 2–26 and 26–52 days, respectively. Juvenile brown trout (age 0+) attained a significantly smaller body size in Section 1 than in Section 2; mean length ±SD was 35 ± 8 mm (ranged 27–46) and 43 ± 7 mm (range 38–46), respectively. In Section 2, there was a highly positive correlation between the body length of 0+ brown trout and mean water temperature in June (p<0.005), and also to some extent in Section 1 (p=0.11). Individuals of age 1+ did not exhibit any such difference, while fish in age group 2+ were larger in Section 1 than in Section 2. By using the number of days with a water temperature between the range 5–10?°C (T D ≥ 5 ? 10?° C ) as test variables, we found a highly positive correlation between the August 1 body length of 0+ brown trout and T D ≥ 9?°C from spring to August 1 in Section 2 (p<0.05), as opposed to T D ≥ 7?°C for trout in Section 1 (p=0.11). Young Siberian sculpin (age 0+ and 1+) also exhibited slower growth in Section 1 than in Section 2, but this was not the case among older specimens. In the year with the lowest temperature measured (1987), no 0+ Siberian sculpin were caught in any of the two sections, indicating that low temperature affects their survival. Both species exhibited large spatial and temporal variation in density. Thus, data on abundance and growth sampled on one occasion at one site can not be regarded as representative for these two fish populations.  相似文献

Life table and predation of the predatory mite Neoseiulus longispinosus (Evans) on the red spider mite (RSM), Oligonychus coffeae (Nietner), a major pest of tea in India, were studied in the laboratory. Developmental time from egg to adult varied from 4 to 14 days at 30 to 15 °C, respectively; at 35 °C no larva survived. Survival of immature stages was more than 94 % at all temperatures. Threshold temperature for development of immature stages of females and males was 10 and 9.9 °C, respectively, and thermal constant was 84.03 degree-days for females and 80 for males. Sex ratio was female biased and temperature (20–30 °C) had no clear effect on sex determination. Egg hatchability was 73 % at 35 °C and >97 % at lower temperatures. Average number of eggs laid per female/day was higher at 30 °C than at 20 or 25 °C. The highest net reproductive rate (R 0) was 40.7, at 20 °C. Mean generation time (T) decreased from 28 to 13 days with temperature increasing from 20 to 30 °C. Weekly multiplication (6.5) and intrinsic rate of natural increase (r m ) (0.268) were highest at 30 °C. Males lived longer than females at every temperature tested. Longevity was highest at 20 °C (50 days for females and 55 for males). Survival and longevity were adversely affected by temperature above 30 °C. Daily consumption of prey increased with the advancement of predator’s life stages; adult females consumed the highest numbers of prey items, preferably larvae and nymphs.  相似文献

We tested the hypothesis that development of the Antarctic urchin Sterechinus neumayeri under future ocean conditions of warming and acidification would incur physiological costs, reducing the tolerance of a secondary stressor. The aim of this study is twofold: (1) quantify current austral spring temperature and pH near sea urchin habitat at Cape Evans in McMurdo Sound, Antarctica and (2) spawn S. neumayeri in the laboratory and raise early developmental stages (EDSs) under ambient (?0.7 °C; 400 µatm pCO2) and future (+2.6 °C; 650 and 1,000 µatm pCO2) ocean conditions and expose four EDSs (blastula, gastrula, prism, and 4-arm echinopluteus) to a one hour acute heat stress and assess survivorship. Results of field data from 2011 to 2012 show extremely stable inter-annual pH conditions ranging from 7.99 to 8.08, suggesting that future ocean acidification will drastically alter the pH-seascape for S. neumayeri. In the laboratory, S. neumayeri EDSs appear to be tolerant of temperatures and pCO2 levels above their current habitat conditions. EDSs survived acute heat exposures >20 °C above habitat temperatures of ?1.9 °C. No pCO2 effect was observed for EDSs reared at ?0.7 °C. When reared at +2.6 °C, small but significant pCO2 effects were observed at the blastula and prism stage, suggesting that multiple stressors are more detrimental than single stressors. While surprisingly tolerant overall, blastulae were the most sensitive stage to ocean warming and acidification. We conclude that S. neumayeri may be unexpectedly physiologically tolerant of future ocean conditions.  相似文献

We present the results of molecular dynamics simulations for alkali earth metal cations (Mg2+, Ca2+, Sr2+ and Ba2+) in an aqueous solution at 25°C using the extended simple point charge water potential with Ewald summation. The ion mobilities (defined by ui = DiziF/RT) obtained from the simulations are in good accord with the experimental measures. The strong divalent cation–water interactions explain well the static and dynamic properties of the alkali earth metal cations. The classical solvent-berg picture describes the ion mobilities of these cations in water adequately.  相似文献

The combustion method for preparation of compound material like Li Co 0.5 Ni 0.45 Ag0.05 O2 cathodes is widely selected because it has the virtue of simplicity and lower cost. It was prepared by firing a mixture of stoichiometric amounts lithium nitrate (LiNO3), cobalt nitrate (Co(NO3)2.6H2O), nickel nitrate (Ni(NO3)2. 6H2O) and silver nitrates (AgNO3). The as-synthesized material was subjected to (TGA/DSC) analysis to determine the optimum range of annealing temperatures at 800, 900, and 1000 °C for 8 h. The effect of annealing on the structural and morphological features can be represented by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive scattering (EDS), and transmutation electric microscopy (TEM), powders data from this method showed the coexistence of cubic Li Ni2O4 spinel structures at 400 °C. The optimum annealing result at 900 °C with constant duration 8 hours showed a single rhombohedra layered type Li Co 0.5 Ni 0.45 Ag0.05 O2 and polycrystalline structures.  相似文献

Abstract

This study evaluated the effect of temperature on morphometric features of the egg during the embryonic development of the prawn Macrobrachium americanum and the relationship with hatching and the survival of the larvae. Berried females were grouped (n = 3) and reared at three different temperatures, 26, 29, and 33 °C, for which seven developmental stages were recognized. At each stage, the apical and sagittal diameters of the eggs were measured, the volume was calculated, and the weights were recorded. Additionally, the duration of embryonic development, hatching percentage, and larval survival were determined. At 29 and 33 °C, the eggs’ volume increased by 50%, but at 26 °C, the increase was 25%. Larvae from eggs incubated at 33 °C died one day after hatching. At 29 °C, larvae survived until Zoea VII. Larvae from eggs incubated at 26 °C died at the end of Zoea I. The number of days of embryonic development was 20.5 ± 1.5 (26 °C), 15 ± 1 (29 °C), and 12 ± 1 (33 °C). A temperature of 29 °C was the most favorable for embryonic development in M. americanum.  相似文献

The fixation of dien-Pt on poly(I)·poly(C) leads to only minor changes in the uv and CD spectra at ambient temperature, showing that there is little perturbation of the secondary structure in the rb range studied (up to 0.30). However, the melting profiles show two steps. The Tm for strand separation increases linearly from 61°C (rb = 0) to 80°C (rb = 0.18), after which it declines on further increasing the rb. The second melting step is not complete at 100°C, and the magnitude of the absorbance change in this second step also appears to be at a maximum at rb = 0.18. Although dien-Pt can only coordinate to one base, the nmr spectra at 80°C also show a second type of interaction with the adjacent bases, which is only destroyed in the presence of a strong denaturing agent, 5M guanidinium hydrochloride. From these results and the spectrophotometric data, we observe that dien-Pt forms a triple sandwich by hydrogen bonding of the platinum amino groups to the adjacent hypoxanthine bases (N7). The presence of these hydrogen bonds accounts for the increased stability (maximal at one Pt to three hypoxanthine bases) and their rupture is seen in the second melting step. No interaction has been observed with poly(C) strand. Reaction of dien-Pt with poly(I) shows the formation of the same triple sandwich structure in the nmr spectra.  相似文献

There is limited knowledge of the effects of exposure to low temperatures in the unique Mediterranean climate plant species of Western Australia. We have thus investigated the effect of low temperature on cryogenic tolerance in Lomandra sonderi, an endemic perennial species of southwest Western Australia. Lomandra sonderi plants were preconditioned in tissue culture at constant 23 °C (12 h light/dark cycle) or alternating 20/?1 °C (16 h light and 8 h dark cycle). Shoot tips from both conditions were analysed for their phospholipid, sterol and soluble sugar compositions. Shoot tips were also cryoexposed via a droplet-vitrification protocol. Survival in both preconditioning regimes for cryoexposed and non-cryoexposed samples was the same, but plants from the 20/?1 °C regime displayed an improved tolerance to the overall cryopreservation process in both cryoexposed and non-cryoexposed samples, thereby eliminating exposure to liquid nitrogen as a primary cause of reduced post-cryogenic viability. Preconditioning of in vitro shoots of L. sonderi at 20/?1 °C induced significant increases in phosphatidylcholine (from 7.30 ± 3.46 to 22.2 ± 7.80 ng mg?1 FW) and increases in several soluble sugars (fructose, galactose, glucose, sucrose) compared to shoots incubated at 23 °C—changes consistent with known cold acclimation responses in plant species generally—but sterol content remained largely unchanged. Analysis of electrolyte leakage in shoot tips from both preconditioning regimes generated a significantly lower LT50 value in the 20/?1 °C samples (?5.45 ± 0.53 °C) over the 23 °C samples (?2.5 ± 0.08 °C). Increased tolerance to cryoexposure in L. sonderi appears to lie mainly with acclimation-induced changes in membrane composition and promotion of membrane stability and hence increased resistance to freeze damage.  相似文献

By means of differential scanning calorimetry, effects of systematic series of Group I and VII ions on the phase state of model multibilayer dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (di(14:0)PC) membranes have been studied at a lipid/ion molar ratio of 3/1. The sign-changing correlations between the ionic radii of cations and temperature shifts of di(14:0)PC phase transition were obtained. For cosmotropic Li+ and Na+, the observed shifts were positive (LiCl: ΔT m = 0.6°C; ΔT p = 1.9°C), whereas chaotropic K+ and Rb+ presence resulted in negative shifts (RbCl: ΔT m = ?0.3°C; ΔT p = ?2.5°C). The anions (Cl?, Br?, I?) showed a similar effect increasing with the ion chaotropicity. An essentially weaker effect of Cs+ as compared to other alkali metal ions (CsCl: ΔT m ≈ 0°C; ΔT p = ?0.1°C) can be one of the reasons of its accumulation in living organisms. Generalization of all available data allowed us to specify some important factors of lipid-ion interactions that should be taken into account in further investigations in this field.  相似文献

The effect of five constant temperatures of 21, 24, 27, 30 and 33 °C on adult life span, reproduction, oviposition behavior and larval developmental time of a bitter gourd inhabited coleopteran insect Epilachna dodecastigma (Wied.) (Coccinellidae) was determined in laboratory conditions under 70 ± 5 % relative humidity and a photoperiod of 12 L : 12 D. Larval developmental time of E. dodecastigma decreased as temperature increased from 21 to 33 °C. Life table data revealed that overall mortality was lowest at 27 °C and highest at 21 °C. Females lived longer than males at all temperatures; but longevity decreased with increase in temperature. Pre-oviposition period decreased significantly with increase in temperature up to 27 °C and thereafter increased at a slower rate; whereas oviposition period decreased significantly with increase in temperature. Fecundity and egg viability increased significantly with an increase in temperature up to 27 °C and thereafter decreased at a slower rate. The intrinsic rate of increase (r m ) was 0.1703, 0.1984, 0.2235, 0.2227 and 0.2181 day?1 at 21, 24, 27, 30 and 33 °C, respectively. The net reproductive rate and finite rate of increase was highest at 27 °C (R o  = 112.05; λ = 1.4233) and lowest at 21 °C (R o  = 51.23; λ = 1.2581).  相似文献

The susceptibility of the cigarette beetle Lasioderma serricorne (F.) to hypoxia was examined at three different oxygen concentrations (0.5?C0.8, 1.0?C1.3, and 2.0?C2.3?%) and four different temperature/humidity (RH) conditions: 30?°C/75?% RH, 25?°C/75?% RH, 20?°C/43?% RH, and 15?°C/43?% RH. The influence of humidity on mortality was also examined at three humidity levels (21, 43, and 75?% RH) at 1.0?C1.3?% oxygen (O2) and 25?°C. Our results revealed that adult beetles were the most tolerant at 2.0?C2.3?% O2 and that the larvae were the most tolerant at O2 levels <1.0?C1.3?%. Mortality increased with increasing temperatures and decreasing O2 concentrations. At 30?°C, 75?% RH, and 0.5?C0.8?% O2, the 99?% lethality (LT99) of larvae was 6.9?days; however, it increased to 20?days when the temperature was decreased to 25?°C or when O2 levels were increased to 1.0?C1.3?%. Humidity also influenced mortality of both larval and adult beetles. LT99 values for larvae at 25?°C and 1.0?C1.3?% O2 were 24.0, 44.6, and 50.2?days at 21, 43, and 75?% RH, respectively. Results of this study indicate that a controlled atmosphere (CA) with reduced oxygen levels (<0.5?C0.8?% O2) represents an effective measure for disinfesting stored tobacco as an alternative to conventional phosphine fumigation at temperatures >30?°C.  相似文献

Thrips tabaci Lindeman (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) is one of the most important pests of asparagus in China. In this study the effects of five constant temperatures (15, 20, 25, 30 and 35 °C) on the growth, survivorship and reproduction of Proprioseiopsis asetus (Chant) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) fed on T. tabaci was examined under laboratory conditions. Development time of immatures decreased with increasing temperature. The lower egg-to-adult developmental threshold (T 0) and thermal constant (K) of P. asetus were estimated at 15.2 °C and 75.8 degree days by means of a linear model. Fertilized females fed on T. tabaci produced offspring of both sexes, whereas the offspring sex ratio [♀/(♀ + ♂)] of P. asetus at 20–35 °C was female-biased (0.68–0.78) and not significantly influenced by temperature. Survivorship during immature development was significantly influenced by temperature, and was especially low at 15 °C. Pre- and post-oviposition periods of fertilized females shortened with the increase in temperature. The longest oviposition period was 20.4 days, at 25 °C, whereas at 15 °C the mites did not reproduce. Maximum average life time fecundity and mean daily fecundity was recorded at 25 and 35 °C, respectively; the intrinsic rate of increase ranged from 0.05 (20 °C) to 0.17 (35 °C). The results indicate the capability of P. asetus to develop and reproduce at a broad range of temperatures, especially above 25 °C, which can be used for better management of T. tabaci in asparagus.  相似文献

Abstract

Herein, we demonstrate that the degrees of catalytic performance of M-CeO2-based catalysts (M=Mn, Cu, Ru or Zr) for an ammonia selective catalytic reduction (NH3-SCR) of nitric-oxide (NO) can be estimated using three theoretical terms; (i) an oxygen vacancy formation energy of a catalyst, (ii) an adsorption energy of NO and (iii) an adsorption energy of NH3. Those terms predict the trend of the catalytic performance as the order; Mn–CeO2 > Cu–CeO2 > Ru–CeO2 > Zr–CeO2 > CeO2. To verify the theoretical prediction, the catalysts were synthesized and tested their performances on the NH3-SCR of NO reaction. The normalized NO conversion rates at low temperatures (100–200 °C) were measured for Mn–CeO2, Cu–CeO2, Ru–CeO2, Zr–CeO2 and CeO2 as 2.61–7.46, 1.30–6.82, 0.73–3.02, 0.81–3.31 and 1.55–2.33 mol s?1 m?2, respectively. In addition, a concept of a structure-activity relationship analysis shows a strong relationship between theoretical and experimental results. Consequently, an application of predicting the catalytic performance of catalysts from theoretical calculations prior the catalyst synthesis is useful in catalyst design and screening that can reduce time and cost.  相似文献

A greenhouse study was conducted to determine the effect of cadmium (Cd)-resistant Pseudomonas putida strain 710A and Commamonas aquatica strain 710B, used either alone or as a binary mixture on the toxicity of cadmium to mungbean [Vigna radiata (L.) wilczek] plants. The bacterial strains 710A and 710B, isolated from the Semra mines in Ranchi, India, were resistant to 0.5 mM and 1 mM, CdCl2 respectively. Moreover, both strains grew well at 10 °C and 30 °C. Of the two bacterial strains, strain 710B showed 129.6 and 83.5 times higher P solubilizing activity than strain 710A, when grown in liquid broth supplemented with cadmium at 10 °C and 30 °C, respectively. Furthermore, 16S ribosomal DNA (rDNA) sequencing identified 710A as a Pseudomonas putida strain and 710B as a Commamonas aquatica strain. The strain 710A significantly (p?<?0.05) stimulated the growth of roots (35.2 %) and shoots (30 %) of mungbean plants grown in soil treated with 110 μM CdCl2. However, the increase in the case of 710B was found to be 15.4 % and 5.17 %, respectively. The loss of chlorophyll content was replenished by up to 80 %, 66 %, and 77.3 % by inoculation of 710A, 710B and binary mixture, respectively. Moreover the strains were able to reduce Cd accumulation in roots and shoots. Most significantly, residual Cd concentration in soil was reduced in the presence of bioinoculants. However, in terms of efficiency, the strains were found to be in the following order: 710A?>?710A +710B?>?710B. The results suggest that P. putida 710A strain is a potentially effective candidate metal to be used for sequestering and as a growth-promoting bioinoculant in Cd polluted soil.  相似文献

The interaction between K2Cr2O7 and urease was investigated using fluorescence, UV-vis absorption, and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopy. The experimental results showed that the fluorescence quenching of urease by K2Cr2O7 was a result of the formation of K2Cr2O7–urease complex. The apparent binding constant K A between K2Cr2O7 and urease at 295, 302, and 309 K were obtained to be 2.14?×?104, 1.96?×?104, and 1.92?×?104 L mol?1, respectively. The thermodynamic parameters, Δ and Δ were estimated to be ?5.90 kJ mol?1, 43.67 J mol?1 K?1 according to the Van’t Hoff equation. The electrostatic interaction played a major role in stabilizing the complex. The distance r between donor (urease) and acceptor (K2Cr2O7) was 5.08 nm. The effect of K2Cr2O7 on the conformation of urease was analyzed using UV-vis absorption, CD, synchronous fluorescence spectroscopy, and three-dimensional fluorescence spectra, the environment around Trp and Tyr residues were altered.  相似文献

Clarity of fruit juices is desirable to maintain an aesthetically pleasing quality and international standards. The most commonly used enzymes in juice industries are pectinases. A partially-purified pectinmethylesterase from tomato was entrapped in calcium alginate beads and used for juice clarification. The activity yield was maximum at 1 % (w/v) CaCl2 and 2.5 % (w/v) alginate. The immobilized enzyme retained ~55 % of its initial activity (5.7 × 10?2 units) after more than ten successive batch reactions. The Km, pH and temperature optima were increased after immobilization. The most effective clarification of fruit juice (%T620 ~60 %) by the immobilized enzyme was at 4 °C with a holding time of 20 min. The viscosity dropped by 56 % and the filterability increased by 260 %. The juice remains clear after 2 months of storage at 4 °C.  相似文献

With respect to the limitations use of methyl bromide and phosphine, employing ionizing radiation to control stored product pests has attracted great attention. The aim of this study is the investigation of the combined effects of gamma irradiation as viable alternatives to synthetic insecticides and environmental management on mortality and sterility of Rhyzopertha dominica (Fabricius) in a wheat cultivar (Gascogen). The effect of doses range from 30 to 2000?Gy gamma irradiation in combination with manipulation of temperature (15, 21, 27 and 32?°C) and relative humidity (20%, 50%, 65% and 85%) on 5–10?days old adults of R. dominica in Gascogen cultivar of wheat were explored. The experiments were repeated three times and conducted in The Nuclear Agriculture Research School in Karaj and laboratory of shahid steki silo in shahre-kord. Probit analysis revealed that both temperature and relative humidity had combined effects when used with gamma irradiation. The lowest doses of gamma ray required to kill 25% (14.2?Gy) and 50% (610.8?Gy) of the population (LD25 and LD50) were recorded at 21?°C and 85% relative humidity respectively. The low dose for 99% mortality (LD99; 2386.7?Gy) was recorded for beetles maintained at 21?°C and 50% relative humidity. The effect of temperature (15, 21, 27 and 32?°C) on sterility caused by gamma irradiation was also investigated. The results showed that the F1 generation emerged only when the beetles were treated with doses of 0–100?Gy at 32?°C and 0–70?Gy at 27?°C. These results indicate that temperature and relative humidity play an important role in the susceptibility of the lesser grain beetle to gamma irradiation. The results suggest that controlling the efficiency of gamma radiation through environmental control allows the use of low doses of gamma radiation that have a less harmful effect on human health, non-target organisms and seed agronomic features.  相似文献
