The aim of this study was to examine the effects of training at the same time of the day on the diurnal variations of anaerobic performances to provide some recommendations to adjust training hours with the time of the day of competitive events. Thirty participants underwent 8 weeks of lower-extremity progressive resistance training performed 3 times per week designed to promote muscular strength and power. These subjects were randomly assigned to a morning training group (MTG, 07:00-08:00 hours, n = 10), an evening training group (ETG, 17:00-18:00 hours, n = 10), and a control group (CG, completed all tests but did not train, n = 10). Performance in the squat jump, the countermovement jump, the Wingate and 1 repetition maximum (1RM) during leg extension, leg curl, and squat tests was recorded just before and 2 weeks after an 8-week course of regular training. For all the subjects, the morning and evening tests were scheduled at the same time of the day as for the morning and evening training sessions. Before training, the results indicated a significant increase in performance from morning to evening tests (ca. 2.84-17.55% for all tests) for all groups. After training, the diurnal variations in anaerobic performances were blunted in the MTG. In fact, there was no significant difference in muscular power or strength between morning and evening tests. However, these intradaily variations in anaerobic performances persisted in the ETG and CG. From a practical point of view, adaptation to strength training is greater at the time of the day at which training was scheduled than at other times.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of training at the same time of day on diurnal variations of technical ability and swimming performance, to provide some recommendations with regard to adjusting training hours in accord with the time of day of competitive events. Eighteen participants volunteered for this study, and these were randomly assigned to either a morning training group (MTG, who trained only between 07:00 and 08:00 h, n = 6), an evening training group (ETG, who trained only between 17:00 and 18:00 h, n = 6), or a control group (CG, did not train but participated in all tests, n = 6). Swimming performance and technical ability – (i) stroke parameters: swim velocity (V), stroke rate (SR), and stroke length (SL); and (ii) motor organization: arm stroke phases and arm coordination (Idc) – were recorded 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after an 8-week regular training period. For all participants, the morning and evening tests were scheduled at the same time of day as the morning and evening training sessions. After training, the major finding of this study was that both ETG and the CG showed significantly lower P, V, SR, phase (B), phase (C), and Idc values in the morning than in the evening. However, P, V, SR, phase (B), phase (C), and Idc of the MTG measured at 07:00 and 17:00 h did not differ. Thus, training at a specific time of day increased performance in MTG at this time and modified the diurnal variation of swim performance. This study indicates that training at a specific time of day can result in marked changes in both swimming performance and technical aspects of swimming. Furthermore, training in the morning improved morning swimming performance and its components, and the amplitude of the morning–evening difference decreased. Training in the evening improved swimming performance and its components more in the evening than the morning, and the amplitude of the morning–evening difference increased.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of electrostimulation strength training (ES) and time-of-day on immune response and anaerobic performances during short-term maximal exercise. In randomized order, 24 active men divided into three groups: MTG (n=8): training times 07:00–08:00h; ETG (n=8): training times 17:00–18:00h; and CG (n=8) and were asked to perform a 30-s Wingate test (i.e. peak (PP), mean (MP)) and strength (1-RM) before (T0) and after four weeks of training (T1) at 08:00h and 18:00h. Our results showed that oral temperature, PP (p<0.05), MP (p<0.05), and Interleukine-6 levels (IL-6) (p<0.001) were significantly higher at 18:00h compared to 08:00h in all groups. However, 1-RM was not affected by the time-of-day (p>0.05). Likewise, IL-6 increased after exercise at T0 and T1 in CG, ETG, and MTG (p<0.001). Moreover, ES training leads an improvement in performances (p<0.05) with an increase in the tight circumference for the MTG (p<0.01) at the same time-of-training (08:00h) without affecting the immune response (p>0.05). In fact, the amplitude of variation was disappeared in MTG after ES. However, the ES did not affect the PP, MP, and 1-RM in ETG with no change in the tight circumference. A significant increase in IL-6 at the same time-of-training (p<0.05) was observed on ETG. For CG, no significant change was observed after ES compared with pre-training. In conclusion, ES training in the morning is a potent strategy to counteract the decrease in anaerobic performances without affecting inflammatory response compared to the evening training.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine the effects of 3 and 5 weeks of detraining after 14 weeks of resistance training at a specific time of day on performances during the squat jump (SJ) and the maximal voluntary contraction (MVC). Thirty-one healthy male physical education students (age: 23.1 ± 1.0 years; height: 176.1 ± 6.3 cm; weight: 74.9 ± 10.9 kg) were randomly assigned to either a morning training group (MTG, training between 07:00 and 08:00 h, n = 10), an evening training group (ETG, training between 17:00 and 18:00 h, n = 11) or a control group (CG, no training, n = 10). Participants then performed eight test sessions (twice per day, at 07:00 and 17:00 h) over the course of four phases: during pre-training, immediately post-training, and after 3 and 5 weeks of detraining. Before each test session, oral temperature was recorded. During the first 12 weeks of resistance training, participants performed 3 sets of 10 repetitions to failure (10-RM) for 4 exercises (squat, leg press, leg extension and leg curl, with 2 min of recovery between each exercise); during the last two weeks, training intensity increased to 8-RM with 3 min of recovery between each exercise. Oral temperature was significantly higher at 17:00 than 07:00 h during all test periods (p < 0.05). Likewise, SJ and MVC performances were significantly higher at 17:00 h than 07:00 h during all four test days in ETG and CG, and before training and 3 and 5 weeks after training in MTG (p < 0.05). For both training groups, most SJ and MVC performances (except MTG at 07:00 h and ETG at 17:00 h) returned to baseline values after 5, but not after 3, weeks of detraining. This study showed that 14 weeks of training at a specific time of day blunted the diurnal variation of MVC and SJ in the MTG. The improvement in performance brought about by resistance training was partially retained after 3 weeks of detraining (unless training had taken place at a non-habitual time of day) but was lost after 5 weeks of detraining. During adolescence and early adulthood, most humans are predisposed developmentally, both biologically and socially, toward evening/night activity. The morningness-eveningness (M-E) tendency to be an evening-preferring (E-type) rather than a morning-preferring (M-type) or intermediate/neither (N-type) "chronotype" may affect athletic performance at various times of day. This study evaluated M-E effects on rowing performance of an intact, experienced, university club crew with near-daily early morning (0500-0700 hours) and late afternoon (1630-1800 hours) training schedules. The hypothesis tested was that chronotype would modify circadian effects during morning and afternoon performances. Eight men and eight women (mean age 19.6 +/- 1.5 years) were tested in a randomized, counterbalanced design. A standard qualifying 2000-m ergometer rowing sprint and a nonroutine standing broad jump task were measured during early morning and late afternoon, separated by 3 days of rest. Each subject's chronotype was determined using two standard self-rating M-E scales, resulting in eight E-type (three women/five men), four M-type (two women/two men), and four N-type (three women/one man) subjects. The rowing results show that E-type and N-type subjects did not differ between morning and afternoon rowing performances, whereas M-type subjects rowed significantly faster in the morning. In contrast, the standing broad jump showed no consistent time-of-day or chronotype effect. These findings suggest that basic performance timing in young athletes is determined to some extent by naturally occurring M-E predispositions. Further, modification of time-of-day influences may be possible by routine practice at the same time each day, as was suggested here by the absence of evening superiority in performances. Understanding their personal M-E tendencies could allow young athletes to arrange training schedules at specific times of day to help counteract any natural circadian influences that might work against their performance.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to examine how combined strength and endurance training in the morning and evening influences the adaptations in strength and endurance performance, perception of time management, psychological well-being and sleep. The combined training period lasted for 24 weeks and the participants were divided into the morning training (MG, n = 18), evening training (EG, n = 24) and control groups (CG, n = 10). Isometric leg press force (iLP), maximal oxygen consumption (VO2max), sleep behavior, fatigue, time management, motivation, self-esteem and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) were assessed. Morning to evening difference in iLP was observed in both MG and EG at Pre and Post, with higher force values in the evening, but not for VO2max. iLP force increased significantly in EG in the morning (p < 0.001) and evening (p = 0.010). VO2max increased in MG and EG both in the morning (both p < 0.001) and in the evening (MG: p < 0.001; EG: p = 0.003). Participants of the present study slept 7–8 h per night and the self-reported sleep duration, get-up time and the average time to go to bed were similar between the groups and did not change from Pre to Post. From HRQoL dimensions, the score for bodily pain decreased in MG (p = 0.029) and significant between-group differences were observed for Pre-Post changes in MG and EG (p = 0.001) as well as between MG and CG (p < 0.001). In vitality, a significant between-group difference was observed for Pre to Post changes in MG and EG (p = 0.014). Perception of time management decreased in EG (p = 0.042) but stayed unchanged for MG and CG. For the intrinsic motivation to participate, significant between-group differences were observed for MG and EG (p = 0.033) and between MG and CG (p = 0.032) for Pre to Post changes. Self-esteem improved in MG (p = 0.029) and EG (p = 0.024). The present combined strength and endurance training program performed in the morning and in the evening led to similar improvements in strength and endurance performance. Training in the morning or in the evening did not disrupt the already good sleep behavior and it was able to further increase the self-esteem. Although training in the morning hours may leave more time for free time activities or social life (i.e. family and friends) compared to the evening training, it might be more challenging to stay motivated to participate in prolonged training programs in the morning hours.  相似文献

The chaining of elephants at night is a common management strategy in zoos, yet the costs and benefits of such a strategy are relatively unknown. A study of three unchained female African elephants was undertaken to document their nocturnal behavior. The subjects were observed between the hours of 1800 and 0800 for 10 weeks in the summer of 1992 (total of 172 hr) and 14 weeks in the summer of 1994 (total of 153 hr). Scan data were collected every 5 min to gather information on activity budgets, social proximity, and space utilization. All‐occurrence data were collected on social and non‐social behaviors. In each year of the study, the subjects spent equivalent amounts of time eating, lying, standing, and walking. Additionally, subjects spent half of their time within one body length of another animal and utilized all three available enclosures. Social and non‐social behaviors were frequent, and these data plus the activity profiles reveal the animals generally were most active between the hours of 1800 and 2400 and 0600 and 0700. The findings suggest that the use of no restraints is currently an effective strategy for this elephant group. The high activity levels observed during many of the early evening hours suggest that zoos could permit increased activity and social interactions by extending the hours when the elephants are unchained. This article focuses on physical performances after training at a specific time of day. To date, although the effect of time of day on aerobic performances appears to be equivocal, during anaerobic exercises, the effect of time of day has been well established with early morning nadirs and peak performances in the late afternoon. These diurnal rhythms can be influenced by several factors such as the regular training at a specific time of day. Indeed, regular training in the morning hours may increase the lower morning performances to the same or even higher level as their normal diurnal peak typically observed in the late afternoon by a greater increase of performance in the evening. However, regular training in the evening hours may increase the morning-evening (i.e., amplitude of the rhythm) difference by a greater increase of performance in the late afternoon. Therefore, adaptations to training are greater at the time of day at which training is regularly performed than at other times. Nevertheless, although modifications in resting hormones concentrations could explain this time-of-day specific adaptations, precise information on the underlying mechanisms is lacking.  相似文献

Diurnal variations in ventilatory and cardiorespiratory responses to submaximal treadmill exercise were analysed in 11 eumenorrhoeic women and in 10 women using monophasic oral contraceptives. Subjects performed submaximal treadmill exercise at three intensities averaging 7, 8, and 9 km x h(-1), each for 4 min at 0800, 1300 and 1700 hours, assigned randomly on 3 separate days. Rectal temperature was measured before (T(rec(b))) and after (T(rec(a))) exercise. Cardiac frequency (f(c)), ventilation (V(E)), oxygen uptake (VO(2)), carbon dioxide output (VCO(2)), and respiratory exchange ratio (R) were assessed in the last minute of each stage of the exercise. Both T(rec(b)) and T(rec(a)) increased from 0800 to 1700 hours (P < 0.001). For a given submaximal work rate, VO(2) and VCO(2) were higher in the afternoon compared to the morning. Similarly, R was increased at 1700 hours compared to 0800 hours during the recovery period following exercise (P < 0.05). However, V(E) did not vary significantly during the day at any of the running intensities. No significant interactions (group x time of day) were observed in any of the studied parameters. In contrast to ventilation, the VO(2) and VCO(2) of the females during submaximal exercise were both affected by the time of day, without any differences between eumenorrhoeic women and users of oral contraceptives.  相似文献

The present paper endeavored to elucidate the topic on the effects of morning versus evening resistance training on muscle strength and hypertrophy by conducting a systematic review and a meta-analysis of studies that examined time of day-specific resistance training. This systematic review was performed in accordance with the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines with searches conducted through PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and SPORTDiscus databases. The Downs and Black checklist was used for the assessment of the methodological quality of the included studies. Studies that examined the effects of time of day-specific resistance training (while equating all other training variables, such as training frequency and volume, between the groups) on muscle strength and/or muscle size were included in the present review. The random effects model was used for the meta-analysis. Meta-analyses explored (1) the differences in strength expression between morning and evening hours at baseline; (2) the differences in strength within the groups training in the morning and evening by using their post-intervention strength data from the morning and evening strength assessments; (3) the overall differences between the effects of morning and evening resistance training (with subgroup analyses conducted for studies that assessed strength in the morning hours and for the studies that assessed strength in the evening hours). Finally, a meta-analysis was also conducted for studies that assessed muscle hypertrophy. Eleven studies of moderate and good methodological quality were included in the present review. The primary findings of the review are as follows: (1) at baseline, a significant difference in strength between morning and evening is evident, with greater strength observed in the evening hours; (2) resistance training in the morning hours may increase strength assessed in the morning to similar levels as strength assessed in the evening; (3) training in the evening hours, however, maintains the general difference in strength across the day, with greater strength observed in the evening hours; (4) when comparing the effects between the groups training in the morning versus in the evening hours, increases in strength are similar in both groups, regardless of the time of day at which strength assessment is conducted; and (5) increases in muscle size are similar irrespective of the time of day at which the training is performed.  相似文献

Nine insulin-dependent diabetic patients were examined for insulin requirement, counterregulatory hormones, and receptor binding during their connection to glucose-controlled insulin infusion system. They were of 103% ideal body weight. A diet of 45% carbohydrate, 20% protein and 35% fat was divided into three meals and three snacks averaging the daily calorie intake of 1859 kcal. Following an equilibrating phase of 14 hours after the connection to the glucose-controlled insulin infusion system the blood samples were taken at 0800, 1200 and 1800. The insulin infusion rate increased at 0300 in the early morning from 0.128 mU/kg/min to 0.221 mU/kg/min (P less than 0.02). The postprandial insulin infusion rate jumped from 0.7 U/h (0700-0800) to 7.5 U/h (0800-0900). The calorie related and carbohydrate related insulin demands after breakfast were also highest and declined after lunch respectively (1.16 uU/kg/min kj vs. 0.61 uU/kg/min kj, P less than 0.05 and 236 mU/g CHO vs. 129 mU/g CHO and 143 mU/g CHO). Of the counterregulatory hormones the cortisol showed a significant diurnal rhythm to insulin demands. The insulin tracer binding was higher at 0800 before breakfast than that at 1200 before lunch (P less than 0.05). The increased binding could be better attributed to receptor concentration change than to affinity change. The cause of insulin relative insensitivity in the morning could be due to altered liver response to the cortisol peak in type 1 diabetics. The preserved variation of insulin binding in our patients might be referred to feeding.  相似文献

The present experiment aimed at knowing how a gradual changes of room temperature (T(a)) and light in the evening and early morning could influence circadian rhythms of core temperature (T(core)), skin temperatures, urinary 6-hydroxymelatonin sulfate and waking sensation just after rising in humans. Two kinds of room environment were provided for each participant: 1) Constant room temperature (T(a)) of 27 degrees C over the 24 h and LD-rectangular light change with abrupt decreasing from 3,000 lx to 100 lx at 1800, abrupt increasing from 0 lx to 3,000 lx at 0700. 2) Cyclic changes of T(a) and with gradual decrease from 3,000 lx to 100 lx onset at 1700 (twilight period about 2 h), with gradual increasing from 0 lx to 3,000 lx onset at 0500 (about 2 h). Main results are summarized as follows: 1) Circadian rhythms of nadir in the core temperature (T(core)) significantly advanced earlier under the influence of gradual changes of T(a) and light than no gradual changes of T(a) and light. 2) Nocturnal fall of T(core) and morning rise of T(core) were greater and quicker, respectively, under the influence of gradual changes of T(a) and light than no gradual changes of T(a) and light. 3) Urinary 6-hydroxymelatonin sulfate during nocturnal sleep was significantly greater under the influence of gradual changes of T(a) and light. 4) Waking sensation just after rising was significantly better under the influence of gradual changes of T(a) and light. We discussed these findings in terms of circadian and thermoregulatory physiology.  相似文献

Twenty-nine (17 men, 12 women) collegiate track and field athletes were randomly divided into a creatine monohydrate (CM, n = 10) group, creatine monohydrate and glutamine (CG, n = 10) group, or placebo (P, n = 9) group. The CM group received 0.3 g creatine.kg body mass per day for 1 week, followed by 0.03 g creatine.kg body mass per day for 7 weeks. The CG group received the same creatine dosage scheme as the CM group plus 4 g glutamine.day(-1). All 3 treatment groups participated in an identical periodized strength and conditioning program during preseason training. Body composition, vertical jump, and cycle performances were tested before (T1) and after (T2) the 8-week supplementation period. Body mass and lean body mass (LBM) increased at a greater rate for the CM and CG groups, compared with the P treatment. Additionally, the CM and CG groups exhibited significantly greater improvement in initial rate of power production, compared with the placebo treatment. These results suggest CM and CG significantly increase body mass, LBM, and initial rate of power production during multiple cycle ergometer bouts.  相似文献

Six replicate trials were conducted to determine the short-term temporal dynamics and the effects of foliar applications of nutrients on the phylloplane yeast community of tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.). In each trial, 2% sucrose + 0.5% yeast extract solution or sterile deionized water (control) was applied to the experiment plots. Twelve hours post-treatment (at 0600 hours), leaf samples were collected and yeast colony-forming units (cfu) were enumerated by dilution plating. This process was repeated at 1200, 1800, and 2400 hours in each trial. Significant differences were observed between the number of yeast cfu and the time at which the samples were collected. On average, the number of yeast cfu recovered was significantly less at 1800 hours and significantly greatest at 2400 hours when compared with all other sampling times. Averaged over all time intervals, we observed a trend of increased yeast abundance in turf treated with the nutrient solution compared with control treatments. In a separate investigation, atmospheric yeast abundance above the canopy of tall fescue was assessed in the morning (0900) and in the afternoon (1500) using a Thermo Andersen single stage viable particle sampler. In 5 of the 6 trials of this experiment, atmospheric yeast abundance was significantly greater in the morning than in the afternoon. Results suggest the following colonization model: phylloplane yeasts on tall fescue reproduce during the late evening and early morning, stabilize during the late morning and early afternoon through exchange of immigrants and emigrants, and decline during the late afternoon and (or) early evening.  相似文献

The prevalence of hazardous incidents induced by attentional impairment during night work and ensuing commute times is attributable to circadian misalignment and increased sleep pressure. In a 10-day shift work simulation protocol (4 day shifts and 3 night shifts), the efficacies of 2 countermeasures against nighttime (2300 to 0700 h) attentional impairment were compared: (1) Morning Sleep (0800 to 1600 h; n = 18) in conjunction with a phase-delaying light exposure (2300 to 0300 h), and (2) Evening Sleep (1400 to 2200 h; n = 17) in conjunction with a phase-advancing light exposure (0300 to 0700 h). Analysis of the dim light salivary melatonin onset indicated a modest but significant circadian realignment in both sleep groups (evening sleep: 2.27 +/- 0.6 h phase advance, p < 0.01; morning sleep: 4.98 +/- 0.43 h phase delay, p < 0.01). Daytime sleep efficiency and total sleep time did not differ between them or from their respective baseline sleep (2200 to 0600 h; p > 0.05). However, on the final night shift, the evening sleep subjects had 37% fewer episodes of attentional impairment (long response times: 22 +/- 4 vs. 35 +/- 4; p = 0.02) and quicker responses (p < 0.01) on the Psychomotor Vigilance Task than their morning sleep counterparts. Their response speed recovered to near daytime levels (p = 0.47), whereas those of the morning sleep subjects continued to be slower than their daytime levels (p = 0.008). It is concluded that partial circadian realignment to night work in combination with reduced homeostatic pressure contributed to the greater efficacy of a schedule of Evening Sleep with a phase-advancing light exposure as a countermeasure against attentional impairment, over a schedule of Morning Sleep with a phase-delaying light exposure. These results have important implications for managing patients with shift work disorder.  相似文献

Possible relationships between coitus and serum gonadotrophin levels and ovulation in the rat were investigated. Female rats were mated betw een 1700 and 1730 or between 1800 and 1830 hours. 1.3 ml of blood was withdrawn by cardiac puncture 30 minutes postcoitus for luteinizing hormone (LH) analysis. After autopsy on the morning of estrus, counts were made of tubal ova, and LH and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) were measured in terminal blood from all animals. Those mated at 1700-1730 with no cardiac puncture showed significantly more ova than those with cardiac puncture (p less than .05) and those which were neither mated nor received cardiac puncture (p les than .05). No differences were found between those mated at 1800-1830 hours because of the large variance in each group. Coitus during the time of normal mating did not increase LH levels 30 minutes postmating or terminal LH and FSH levels. Terminal LH levels were significantly increased in the no cardiac puncture-no mate animals (p less than .05) in comparison with the cardiac puncture-no mate animals.  相似文献

Temporal airborne bacterial concentrations and meteorological conditions were measured above a grass seed field in the Willamette River Valley, near Corvallis, Oreg., in the summer of 1993. The concentration of airborne bacteria had a maximum of 1,368.5 CFU/m(sup3), with a coefficient of variation of 90.5% and a mean of 121.3 CFU/m(sup3). The lowest concentration of bacteria occurred during the predawn hours, with an average of 32.2 CFU/m(sup3), while sunrise and early evening hours had the highest averages (164.7 and 158.1 CFU/m(sup3), respectively). The concentrations of bacteria in the atmosphere varied greatly, with a maximum difference between two 2-min samples of 1,995 CFU/m(sup3). The concentrations of bacteria in the atmosphere could be divided into five time periods during the day that were thought to be related to the local diurnal sea breeze and Pacific Coast monsoon weather conditions as follows: (i) the nighttime minimum concentration, i.e., 2300 to 0600 h; (ii) the sunrise peak concentration, i.e., 0600 to 0800 h; (iii) the midday accumulating concentration, i.e., 0800 to 1515 h; (iv) the late-afternoon sea breeze trough concentration, i.e., 1515 to 1700 h; and (v) the evening decrease to the nighttime minimum concentration, i.e., 1700 to 2300 h. The sunrise peak concentration (period ii) is thought to be a relatively general phenomenon dependent on ground heating by the sun, while the afternoon trough concentration is thought to be a relatively local phenomenon dependent on the afternoon sea breeze. Meteorological conditions are thought to be an important regulating influence on airborne bacterial concentrations in the outdoor atmosphere in the Willamette River Valley.  相似文献

The 100-m and 400-m swim time, tethered swimming forces, mood states and self-ratings of well-being of 27 competitive swimmers were measured before and after 4 weeks of intense training and after 1 week and 2 weeks of tapering for major competition. The swimmers were divided into three groups. Each group completed one of three taper regimes similar to those currently performed by swimmers in preparation for competition: (a) reduced training frequency according to each athlete's daily ratings of well-being, (b) reduced training volume, and (c) reduced training volume and intensity. Significant improvements in the Profile of Mood States measures of tension, depression and anger (P < 0.05) were observed after 1 week of tapering, with significant improvements in total mood disturbance and fatigue (P < 0.05) and peak tethered swimming force (P < 0.01) after 2 weeks. Non-significant improvements in 100-m and 400-m swim time (P > 0.05) were observed and no significant differences were revealed among the three tapering techniques. These data highlighted the importance of providing sufficient recovery before competition, since 1 week of reduced training was not long enough to maximise the benefits of tapering. Nine rowers (six men of the regional and three women of the national top class) participated in the study. During 7 consecutive weeks of the competition period serum testosterone (T), SHBG, cortisol (C) and urea were determined at the same time every morning under fasting conditions. From the concentrations of T and SHBG the free testosterone fraction (T/SHBG) was calculated, and from the concentrations of T and C the ratio of T/C was derived. The object of the investigation was to gather information on a potentially altered anabolic-catabolic hormone relationship dependent upon the intensity of the individual training periods. All rowers showed a continuous decrease in T, T/SHBG and T/C during the observation period. A week of regenerative training halted the decrease. In two of the oarsmen who discontinued their training after 2 and 3 weeks respectively, T, T/SHBG and T/C showed a normalization in the following weeks. In all subjects the concentrations of urea increased during the first 2 weeks and decreased during the subsequent weeks of intense training and competition. The findings suggest an increase in catabolic activity in periods of intensive physical strain, including competitions. Regenerative phases of training seem to reduce the anabolic-catabolic imbalance.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to examine time-of-day effects on short-term performance in obese young men. In a balanced study design, 30 boys were divided into two groups: obese (OG; n = 15) and non-obese (CG; n = 15) groups. Both groups performed anaerobic tests of strength and power (squat-Jump, SJ; counter-movement jump, CMJ; 10-m sprint; and 30-m sprint) at 08:00 and 17:00 h on separate days. The results showed morning–evening differences in all variables in CG, with significant increases at 17:00 h (around the time of peak temperature) in comparison with 08:00 h (p < 0.01) for OG. However, such morning-evening differences were not found in the OG, except for the 30-m sprint. Obesity affects the diurnal variation on performances of 30-m sprint with a significant decrease in the evening for OG of 1.23% (p < 0.01). A correlation between anaerobic performance and oral temperature was observed only in the 30-m sprint test. In conclusion, the findings of the present study indicated that obesity is a problem that can affect circadian rhythms and performance in obese young men; therefore, preventing childhood obesity should become a top priority in efforts to improve performance and health.  相似文献
