The flavonoid profiles of seven species ofAbrotanella and one species ofIschnea have been shown to be based upon kaempferol 3- and quercetin 3-O-glycosides and a delphinidin glycoside. Glucosides, glucuronides, arabinosides, diglucosides, and rutinosides of the flavonols were identified. The profile ofIschnea consisted solely of quercetin 3-O-glucoside and 3-O-arabinoside whereas the profiles of theAbrotanella species were more varied. Although infraspecific variation was not investigated in this study, the flavonoid chemistry of the two genera is in accordance with the flavonoid variation described for other members ofSenecioneae which are primarily flavonol producers. Based on the known phylogeny and biogeography, the flavonoid distribution from the perspective of long-distance dispersals across the Pacific is discussed. Such events should lead to genetic bottle-neck situations and depauperate flavonoid profiles. A summary of current flavonoid knowledge in theSenecioneae is supplied.  相似文献

Two new flavonol glucosides have been identified in Ephedra alata, namely, herbacetin 8-methyl ether 3-O- glucoside-7-O-rutinoside and herbacetin 7-O-(6″-quinylglucoside). The known flavonoids vicenin II, lucenin III, kaempferol 3-rhamnoside, quercetin 3-rhamnoside and herbacetin 7-glucoside were also found. The structure of the isolated compounds was determined mostly by FABMS and 1H NMR spectroscopy. The final structure of the new compounds and of herbacetin 7-glucoside was confirmed by 13C NMR spectroscopy.  相似文献

Seven flavonol glycosides were isolated from the leaves ofT. apetalon. They were identified chromatographically and spectrally to be: quercetin/kaempferol 3-O-α-arabinopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-galactopyranoside (TQ and TK), quercetin/kaempferol 3-O-[2‴-O-acetyl-α-arabinopyranosyl]-(1→6)-β-galactopyranoside (TAQ and TAK), quercetin 3-O-β-glucoside (ISQ), isorhamnetin 3-O-α-arabinopyranosyl-(1→6)-β-galactopyranoside (TI) and isorhamnetin 3-O-[2‴-O-acetyl-α-arabinopyranosyl]-(1→6)-β-galactopyranoside (TAI). TQ, TAQ, TI and TAI were major constituents. This is the first report on two new isorhamnetin-type glycosides, TI and TAI. The seven flavonol glycosides identical to those ofT. apetalon were isolated and identified in the leaves ofT. kamtschaticum; TQ and TAQ were also major components, but TI and TAI were only minor components. TI and TAI were not detected in the leaves ofT. tschonoskii. These leaf-flavonoid patterns were discussed from a chemosystematic point of view. UV-absorbing substances were isolated from the translucent bracts of Rheum nobile, which grows in the alpine zone of the eastern Himalayas. Nine kinds of the UV-absorbing substances were found by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and paper chromatography (PC) surveys. All of the five major compounds are flavonoids, and were identified as quercetin 3-O-glucoside, quercetin 3-O-galactoside, quercetin 3-O-rutinoside, quercetin 3-O-arabinoside and quercetin 3-O-[6-(3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaroyl)-glucoside] by UV, 1H and 13C NMR, mass spectra, and acid hydrolysis of the original glycosides, and direct PC and HPLC comparisons with authentic specimens. The four minor compounds were characterised as quercetin itself, quercetin 7-O-glycoside, kaempferol glycoside and feruloyl ester. Of those compounds, quercetin 3-O-[6-(3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaroyl)-glucoside] was found in nature for the first time. The translucent bracts of R. nobile accumulate a substantial quantity of flavonoids (3.3–5 mg per g dry material for the major compounds). Moreover, it was clarified by quantitative HPLC survey that much more of the UV-absorbing substances is present in the bracts than in rosulate leaves. Although the flavonoid compounds have been presumed to be the important UV shields in higher plants, there has been little characterisation of these compounds. In this paper, the UV-absorbing substances of the Himalayan R. nobile were characterised as flavonol glycosides based on quercetin.  相似文献

Three acylated flavonol diglucosides, kaempferol 3-O-β-(6″-O-E-p-coumaroylglucoside)-7-O-β-glucoside; quercetin 3-O-β-(6″-O-E-p-coumaroylglucoside)-7-O-β-glucoside; isorhamnetin 3-O-β-(6″-O-E-p-coumaroylglucoside)-7-O-β-glucoside were isolated from the whole plant aqueous alcohol extract of Lotus polyphyllos. The known 3,7-di-O-glucosides of the aglycones kaempferol, quercetin and isorhamnetin were also characterized. All structures were established on the basis of chemical and spectral evidence.  相似文献

Three flavonol glycosides were identified in the leaves ofTrillium undulatum. The main glycoside was kaempferol 3-O-α-rhamnosyl-(1→2)-O-[α-rhamnosyl-(1→6)]-β-glucoside; the glycosidic sugars and their linkage pattern were quite different from those of the leaf flavonoids ofT. tschonoskii, T. apetalon, T. Kamtschaticum, T. erectum andT. grandiflorum. Two minor compounds were kaempferol/quercetin 3-O-rutinoside. Part 2 in the series “Studies of the flavonoids of genusTrillium”. We examined the foliar flavonoids of Chrysanthemum arcticum subsp. arcticum and yezoense, and related Chrysanthemum species. Five flavonoid glycosides (luteolin 7-O-glucoside and 7-O-glucuronides of luteolin, apigenin, eriodictyol and naringenin) were isolated from these taxa. Luteolin 7-O-xylosylglucoside, luteolin, apigenin and quercetin 3-methyl ether were found in subsp. yezoense as very minor compounds that were not recognised by high-performance liquid chromatography/photodiode array (HPLC/PDA). The related species C. yezoense contained acacetin 7-O-rutinoside and some methoxylated flavone aglycones as major compounds. Thus, C. arcticum was distinguished from C. yezoense according to their flavonoid profiles.  相似文献

Structures and levels of anthocyanin-related compounds were analyzed during the development of marginal picotee petals in white-center and white-marginal cultivars of Petunia hybrida. In the white site of a white-center cultivar, higher concentrations of quercetin derivatives possessing 7-O-glucoside and/or 3′-O-glucoside occurred than in the colored site, suggesting that these two quercetin glycosylation steps are site-specifically regulated. The boundary areas of petal coloration were composed of cells showing various color densities, whose uniformity among adjacent cells varied between these cultivars. These results indicate diversity in spatiotemporal regulation of anthocyanin biosynthesis and flavonol glycosylations between Petunia cultivars during marginal picotee formation. Perianth parts, in particular, tepals of Echinocereus triglochidiatus var. gurneyi yielded a complex mixture of dihydroflavonols and dihydroflavonol 7-O-glucosides. Dihydroquercetin and its 7-O-glucoside were the predominant compounds while dihydrokaempferol and dihydromyricetin and their 7-O-glycosides were present in lesser amounts. Quercetin 7-O-glucoside was the principal flavonol glycoside: others present were quercetin and kaempferol 3-O-glucosides and 3-O-rhamnosylglucosides. The epidermis and spines yielded only traces of presumed flavonols as determined by two-dimensional TLC. No flavonoids were detected in the cortex tissue. This is the first report of dihydroflavonol derivatives from the Cactaceae and constitutes the first record of flavonoids from Echinocereus.  相似文献

From the blue seed coats ofOphiopogon jaburan, a new flavonol glycoside was isolated as needles and determined to be kaempferol 3-O-β-d-galactoside-4′-O-β-d-glucoside (OK-2) by UV and NMR spectral analyses. OK-2 and kaempfrol 3, 4′-di-O-β-d-glucoside (OK-1), which was detected previously, in the blue seed coat were present in a molar ratio of about 13:7. OK-2 was newly found as a factor causing the blueing effects on ophionin which is a main anthocyanin in the blue seed coats. The mixture of 4.8×10−3 M OK-2 and 2.5×10−3 M ophionin in Mcllvaine's buffer solution (pH 5.6) showed stable blue color, and the absorption spectrum of the mixture showed two absorption peaks and a shoulder in visible reasion, coinciding with that of the fresh blue seed coat. The effect of ophionin and OK-2 co-pigmentation on the blue color of seed coat ofO. jaburan was discussed.  相似文献

An enzyme,S-adenosyl-l-methionine: flavonoid 7-O-methyltransferase (F7OMT), catalyzing the transfer of the methyl group fromS-adenosyl-l-methionine (SAM) to the 7 position of sophoricoside (5, 7, 4′-trihydroxyisoflavone 4′-O-glucoside) and some of the other flavonoids, was detected in extracts from leaves ofPrunus x yedoensis, and it was partially purified (about 203-fold) by a combination of gel filtration and ion-exchange column chromatographies. F7OMT was isolated as a soluble enzyme with a pH optimun of 7.5 in K-phosphate buffer. The molecular mass of F7OMT, which had an isoelectric point at pH 4.1, was estimated by elution from a column of Sephadex G-100 to be about 36 kDa. The activity of F7OMT was stimulated by 14 mM 2-Co2+ and reagents that react with sulfhydryl groups. The apparentKm values for sophoricoside, its aglycone genistein (5, 7, 4′-trihydroxyisoflavone) and quercetin were 1.49, 2.19 and 1.89 μM, respectively. The apparentKm value for SAM as methyl donor was 2.08 mM. The specificity of F7OMT for methyl acceptors was not strict; flavonols, flavanones and flavanonols in addition to isoflavones served as methyl acceptor. An examination ofP. x yedoensis leaves during spring and autumn showed variations in the activities of F7OMT and UDP-glucose: isoflavone 4′-O-glucosyltransferase (I4′ GT). The activities of F7OMT and I4′GT increased in enlarging leaf tissues and then markedly declined when the leaves approached maturation. In autumn leaves F7OMT activity was scarcely detected, but a small peak of I4′GT activity was observed during autumnal reddening.  相似文献

Japonolirion, comprising Japonolirion osense Nakai, which occurs on serpentinite at two widely separated localities in Japan, has been considered as an isolated taxon, but more recently has been proved by molecular evidence to be a sister group to an achlorophyllous, mycoheterotrophic genus, Petrosavia. In an effort to research possible characters linking these groups, we analyzed the flavonoid compounds obtained from leaves of Japonolirion using UV spectra, mass spectrometry and 1H and 13C nuclear magnetic resonance, and acid hydrolysis of the original glycosides as well as direct thin layer chromatography and high performance liquid chromatography comparisons with authentic specimens. As a result, we identified seven flavonoids, of which two were major components identified as 6-C-glucosylquercetin 3-O-glucoside and isoorientin. The remaining five were minor components identified as 6-C-glucosylkaempferol 3-O-glucoside, quercetin 3-O-glucoside, quercetin 3-O-arabinoside, vicenin-2 and orientin. Both 6-C-glucosylquercetin 3-O-glucoside and 6-C-glucosylkaempferol 3-O-glucoside were recorded for the first time in nature. Because of their restricted occurrence in angiosperms, both C-glycosylflavonols and 3-O-glycosides of C-glycosylflavonols may be significant chemical markers for assessing relationships of J. osense.  相似文献

The flavonoids of an additional eight species of Clibadium have been determined. The compounds are derivatives of kaempferol, quercetin and quercetagetin. O-Methylated quercetagetin derivatives were found in several taxa with the possibility that 6-methoxykaempferol may also exist in one collection. Kaempferol and quercetin exist as 3-O-glucosides, galactosides, rhamnosides, rutinosides and diglucosides although not all glycosides occur in each taxon. Quercetagetin derivatives occur as 7-O-glucosides. Observations on these newly investigated species confirm previous work in the genus that three types of flavonoid profiles exist: (1) kaempferol and quercetin 3-glycosides; (2) kaempferol and quercetin 3-glycosides plus quercetagetin 7-glucoside; and (3) kaempferol and quercetin 3-glycosides plus quercetagetin 7-glucoside and O-methylated derivatives of quercetagetin.  相似文献

Haplophyllum pedicellatum, H. robustum and H. glabrinum all yielded the known compound gossypetin 8,3′-dimethyl ether 3-rutinoside. In addition the first two species afforded isorhamnetin and its 3-rutinoside. A new glycoside, gossypetin 8,3′-dimethyl ether 3-glucoside was obtained from H. pedicellatum together with the 3-malonylrutinoside, 3-malonylglucoside and 3-galactoside of isorhamnetin plus kaempferol 3-malonylglucoside. H. robustum yielded isorhamnetin 7-glucoside and 3-glucoside and quercetin 3-galactoside, while H. glabrinum was found to contain gossypetin 8-methyl ether 3-malonylrutinoside in addition to kaempferol and isorhamnetin 3-glucoside.  相似文献

The fresh leaves of Hillebrandia sandwicensis and 126 Begonia taxa were chemotaxonomically surveyed for flavonoids. Of their taxa, H. sandwicensis and 119 species, one variety and three hybrids were analyzed for flavonoids for the first time. Ten flavonols and eleven C-glycosylflavones were isolated and characterized as quercetin 3-O-rutinoside (1), kaempferol 3-O-rutinoside (2), isorhamnetin 3-O-rutinoside (3), quercetin 3-O-glucoside (4), quercetin 3-methyl ether 7-O-rhamnosylglucoside (5), quercetin 3,3'-dimethyl ether 7-O-rhamnosylglucoside (6), quercetin glycoside (13), quercetin glycoside (acylated) (14), kaempferol glycoside (17) and quercetin 3-O-rhamnoside (18) as flavonols, and isovitexin (7), vitexin (8), isoorientin (9), orientin (10), luteolin 6-C-pentoside (11), luteolin 8-C-pentoside (12), schaftoside (15), isoschaftoside (16), chrysoeriol 6,8-di-C-pentoside (19), apigenin 6,8-di-C-arabinoside (20) and isovitexin 2''-O-glucoside (21) as C-glycosylflavones. Quercetin 3-O-rutinoside (1) alone was isolated from H. sandwicensis endemic to Hawaii. Major flavonoids of almost Begonia species was also 1. Begonia species were divided into two chemotypes, i.e. flavonol containing type and C-glycosylflavone containing type. Of 14 section of the Begonia, almost species of many section, i.e. sect. Augustia, Coelocentrum, Doratometra, Leprosae, Loasibegonia, Monopteron and Ruizoperonia, were flavonol types. On the other hand, C-glycosyflavone type was comparatively most in sect. Platycentrum.  相似文献

Bioconversion of quercetin glucosides using four generally recognized as safe (GRAS) organisms (Aspergillus oryzae, Bacillus subtilis, Lactobacillus plantarum, and Saccharomyces cerevisiae) was evaluated by measuring changes in the levels of quercetin compounds of onion. Of the four organisms, S. cerevisiae increased the content of quercetin-3-O-β-d-glucoside (III; isoquercitrin) and quercetin (IV), whereas decreasing quercetin-3,4′-O-β-d-glucoside (I) and quercetin-4′-O-β-d-glucoside (II). Also, S. cerevisiae converted authentic compound I to III, and II to IV, respectively. These results suggest that S. cerevisiae can be used to increase the levels of isoquercitrin (III), the most bioavailable quercetin compound in onion.  相似文献
