During a survey of Guatemalan herpetofauna in the summers of 1998–2000, 29 presumed new species of Eimeria Schneider, 1875 were found, seven of which have a distinct elongate-ellipsoidal shape (L/W ratio ≥ 1.7) and are described herein. Six of the seven new species are similar in oöcyst length, width and L/W ratio and sporocyst length, width and L/W ratio, lack a micropyle, oöcyst residuum, Stieda body, sub- and parastieda bodies, have a polar granule and sporocyst residuum, and their sporocysts appear to have dehiscence sutures. The seventh is slightly smaller and has sporocysts with a Stieda body. The new species are: E. coniophanes n. sp – whose sporulated oöcysts from Coniophanes fissidens are 29.2×14.9 (27–31×13–16) m, with sporocysts m; E. coniophis n. sp. –from Conophis lineatus are 32.0×16.5 (30–34×14–18) m, with sporocysts m; E. dryomarchoni n. sp. – from Drymarchon corais are 32.2×17.7 (31–34×17–19) m, with sporocysts m; E. leptophis n. sp. – from Leptophis mexicanus are 29.5×17.0 (28–31×16–18) m, with sporocysts m; E. oxybelis n. sp. – from Oxybelis aeneus are 31.8×16.5 (29–33×15–18) m, with sporocysts m; and E. scaphiodontophis n. sp. – from Scaphiodontophis annulatus are 30.0×15.3 (28–33×14–16) m, with sporocysts m. Sporulated oöcysts of E. siboni n. sp. from Sibon nebulata are 24.3×14.2 (21–27×13–16) m, with sporocysts m and with a Stieda body. We conclude that until all aspects of each life-cycle are known, it is prudent at this time to name all tetrasporocystic dizoic coccidia from snakes as members of Eimeria rather than place some of them in Choleoeimeria Paperna & Landsberg, 1989.  相似文献

Fifty environmental isolates of Vibrio species were isolated from water samples of Mai Po Nature Reserve and the Cape d’Aguilar Marine Reserve in Hong Kong and screened for the presence of plasmid. Mai Po is a wastewater-impacted area while the Cape d’Aguilar Marine Reserve is pristine natural marine water. Plasmid was found in Vibrio isolates from both sites at similar frequencies and each site showed distinctive plasmid profiles. These plasmid-bearing Vibrio isolates were identified as different species of the Vibrio genus by both biochemical test and subsequently full-length 16S rRNA sequences. Antibiotic resistance test showed that all these plasmid-bearing Vibrio isolates showed multiple resistance to 21 antibiotics tested. In addition, selective isolates also showed tolerance to 10 M Hg2+ in culture medium and they generally harbored large plasmid(s) (>‰30 kb). Our results show that the high frequency of plasmid in Vibrio species of both polluted and pristine environments may be ecologically important to the survival of these bacteria in the environment. The specific functioning of the cryptic plasmids remains the focus of current investigations.  相似文献

Gyrodactylus neili n. sp. (Monogenea: Gyrodactylidae) is described from the fins and body surface of Esox niger Lesueur (chain pickerel) (Esocidae) from the St. Croix River drainage, New Brunswick, Canada. G.␣neili n. sp. resembles most closely G. fryi Cone & Dechtiar, 1984, a parasite of E. masquinongy in North America, in having relatively large thin hamuli, well-developed marginal hook sickles with a relatively long, wide blade and short handle, a ventral bar with small antero-lateral processes and tongue-shaped membrane, and a cirrus with many small spines in two rows. The new species is easily separated from G. fryi by the length of the hamuli (70-76 m versus 92 m, respectively), by the distal width of the sickle (7–9 versus 14-16 m, respectively) and by subtle differences in the shape of the toe and heel of the marginal hook sickle. Sequence data (922 bp) of rDNA (internal transcribed spacers 1 and 2 and 5.8S) of G. neili n. sp. returned no identical matches in GenBank. The 5.8 sequence alone, however, was identical to morphologically similar gyrodactylids of the subgenus Gyrodactylus from cyprinid fishes in Eurasia. The discovery of G. neili n. sp. and features of its genetic makeup support the idea that this lineage parasitised ancestral cyprinids and that it radiated, possibly through predator/prey interactions, to an ancestor of contemporary Esox. It is concluded that DNA comparison of monogeneans on Holarctic freshwater hosts, such as E.␣lucius, may shed light on the nature of speciation of these parasites.  相似文献

Summary The intracellular mechanisms underlying oxidized low-density lipoprotein (oxLDL)-signaling pathways in platelets are not yet completely understood. Therefore, the aim of this study was to further examine the effects of oxLDL in prevention of platelet aggregation. In this study, oxLDL concentration-dependently (40–120 g/ml) inhibited platelet aggregation in human platelet-rich plasma stimulated by agonists. Moreover, oxLDL (40 and 80 g/ml) markedly decreased the fluorescence intensity of platelet membranes tagged with diphenylhexatriene. Rapid phosphorylation of a protein of Mr 47,000 (P47), a marker of protein kinase C activation, was triggered by PDBu (150 nM). This phosphorylation was markedly inhibited by oxLDL (40 and 80 g/ml) in phosphorus-32-labeled platelets. In addition, oxLDL (40 and 80 g/ml) markedly increased levels of cyclic AMP and cyclic AMP-induced vasodilator-stimulated phosphoprotein (VASP) Ser157 phosphorylation. The thrombin-evoked increase in pHi was inhibited in the presence of oxLDL (40 and 80 g/ml). These results indicate that the antiplatelet activity of oxLDL may involve the following pathways. (1) oxLDL may initially induce conformational changes in platelet membranes, leading to inhibition of the activation of protein kinase C, followed by inhibition of P47 protein phosphorylation, and intracellular Ca2+ mobilization. (2) oxLDL also activated formation of cyclic AMP and cyclic AMP-induced VASP Ser157 phosphorylation, resulting in inhibition of the Na+/H+exchanger; this leads to reduced intracellular Ca2+ mobilization, and ultimately to inhibition of platelet aggregation. This study further provides new insights concerning the effects of low concentrations of oxLDL on platelet aggregation.  相似文献

Canopy tree recruitment is inhibited by evergreen shrubs in many forests. In the southern Appalachian mountains of the USA, thickets of Rhododendron maximum L. restrict dominant canopy tree seedling survival and persistence. Using R. maximum as a model system, we examined available light under the thickets and the photosynthetic responses of seedlings of canopy tree species. We tested the hypothesis that the additional shading from under R. maximum drives carbon gain in seedlings below the threshold for growth and survival. A reduction in light under the thicket was found where canopy openness (derived from canopy photographs) under R. maximum was half the amount measured in forest without R. maximum. R.␣maximum also reduced direct radiation by 50% and diffuse radiation by 12–29% compared to forest without the shrub layer. Mean mid-day PPFD (photosynthetically active photon flux density between 1000 and 1400 h) under R. maximum (obtained from quantum sensors) was below 10 mol m−2 s−1 on both clear and overcast days and the amount of sunflecks greater than 10 mol m−2 s−1 PPFD was only 0–20 min per day. In contrast, forest without R. maximum received a mean PPFD of 18–25 mol m−2 s−1 on clear days and a cumulative sunfleck duration of 100–220 min per day in all sky conditions. Consistent with light availability between the sites, daily carbon gain in Quercus rubra L. seedlings was lower in forest with R. maximum compared to forest where the shrub was absent. The presence of the shrub layer also significantly suppressed average mid-day photosynthesis of both Q. rubra and Prunus serotina Ehrt. seedlings on 8 out of 11 measurement dates. However, parameters derived from light response curves between seedlings growing in forest sites with or without a thicket of R. maximum was significantly different only in A max (maximum photosynthetic rate), indicating a lack of further acclimation to the deeper shade under R. maximum. While the additional shade cast by R. maximum is sufficient to prevent the regeneration of tree seedlings under this shrub, there was sufficient heterogeneity in light under the thicket to imply that deep shade only partially explains the complete inhibition of regenerating canopy trees under R. maximum.  相似文献

Laticola dae n. sp. is described from specimens collected from the gill-filaments of the highfin grouper Epinephelus maculatus, a coral reef fish caught off Nouméa, New Caledonia, South Pacific. The species is characterised by a spoon-shaped sclerotised male copulatory organ, with four thin walls and 73–m in outer length, and a sclerotised vagina in form of a disc, 16–m in diameter, with a smaller hemisphere on one side. Laticola Yang et al., 2006 was described to accommodate diplectanids from Lates calcarifer (Centropomidae); this is the first Laticola described from a serranid. Other diplectanids, including several species of Pseudorhabdosynochus Yamaguti, 1958, were also found on the same species of fish; specimens of L. dae represented about half of the diplectanids collected; all other species were rare.

Laticola Yang et al., 2006 a été décrit pour rassembler des Diplectanidae de Lates calcarifer (Centropomidae) ; ceci est le premier Laticola décrit d’un Serranidae. D’autres Diplectanidae, y compris plusieurs espèces de Pseudorhabdosynochus, ont aussi été trouvés chez ce poisson ; les spécimens de L. dae représentaient environ la moitié des Diplectanidae récoltés, toutes les autres espèces étaient rares.

Viable microorganisms were found in Miocene lacustrine clays of the cypris formation excavated from 200-m below the surface as spoil during open-cast brown coal mining (Sokolov Brown Coal Basin, North-Western Bohemia, Czech Republic). Both saprotrophic microfungi of the genera Penicillium, Verticillium, Cladosporium and Aspergillus as well as heterotrophic bacteria were isolated from an intact sediment cores. Heterotrophic bacteria were classified by the MIS Sherlock System as representatives of genera Nocardiopsis, Arthrobacter, Micrococcus, Kocuria, Rothia, Clavibacter, Bacillus, Paenibacillus, Brevibacillus, Microbacterium, Acinetobacter and Pseudomonas. A bacterium found among the strains had an atypical fatty acids profile enriched by branched fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acid (18:36) and gave no MIS Sherlock match. Phospholipid fatty acids analysis indicates a relatively high (535 pmol g−1) but inhomogeneously distributed viable microbial biomass. Fatty acids analyses of non-fractioned lipids (representing viable, storage and dead biomass; 8390  pmol  g−1) detected rich and homogenous profiles with fungal, bacterial and actinomycetal markers but no protozoan and algal fatty acids markers.  相似文献

Genetically engineered pacemaking in ventricular cells has been achieved by down-regulation of the time independent inward rectifying current (I K1), or insertion of the hyperpolarisation-activated funny current (I f). We analyse the membrane system (i.e. ionic concentrations clamped) of an epicardial Luo-Rudy dynamic cell model using continuation algorithms with the maximum conductance () of I K1 and I f as bifurcation parameters. Pacemaker activity can be induced either via Hopf or homoclinic bifurcations. As K1 is decreased by ≈74%, autorhythmicity emerged via a homoclinic bifurcation, i.e., the periodicity first appear with infinitely large periods. In contrast, the insertion of f induced periodicity via a subcritical Hopf bifurcation at f≈ 0.25 mSμF−1. Stable autorhythmic action potentials occurred at f > 0.329 mSμF−1.  相似文献

Japanese pear (Pyrus pyrifolia Nakai) has a gametophytic self-incompatibility (GSI) mechanism controlled by a single S-locus with multiple S-haplotypes, each of which contains separate genes that determine the allelic identity of pistil and pollen. The pistil S gene is the S-ribonuclease (S-RNase) gene, whereas good candidates for the pollen S gene are the F-box protein genes. A self-compatible (SC) cultivar, ‘Osa-Nijisseiki’, which is a bud mutant of ‘Nijisseiki’ (S 2 S 4), has a stylar-part mutant -haplotype, which lacks the S 4-RNase gene but retains the pollen S gene. To delineate the deletion breakpoint in the -haplotype, we constructed a bacterial artificial chromosome (BAC) library from an S 4-homozygote, and assembled a BAC contig of 570 kb around the S 4-RNase. Genomic PCR of DNA from S 4- and -homozygotes and the DNA sequence of the BAC contig allowed the identification of a deletion of 236 kb spanning from 48 kb upstream to 188 kb downstream of S 4-RNase. The -haplotype lacks 34 predicted open reading frames (ORFs) including the S 4-RNase and a pollen-specific F-box protein gene (termed as S 4 F-box0). Genomic PCR with a primer pair designed from the deletion junctions yielded a product specific for the -haplotype. The product could be useful as a maker for early selection of SC cultivars harboring the -haplotype. Analysis of linkage disequilibrium (=mean squared correlation of allele frequencies at different gene loci) provides a means of estimating effective population size (N e) from a single sample, but this method has seen much less use than the temporal method (which requires at least two samples). It is shown that for realistic numbers of loci and alleles, the linkage disequilibrium method can provide precision comparable to that of the temporal method. However, computer simulations show that estimates of N e based on for unlinked, diallelic gene loci are sharply biased downwards ( in some cases) if sample size (S) is less than true N e. The bias is shown to arise from inaccuracies in published formula for when S and/or N e are small. Empirically derived modifications to for two mating systems (random mating and lifetime monogamy) effectively eliminate the bias (residual bias in % in most cases). The modified method also performs well in estimating N e in non-ideal populations with skewed sex ratio or non-random variance in reproductive success. Recent population declines are not likely to seriously affect , but if N has recently increased from a bottleneck can be biased downwards for a few generations. These results should facilitate application of the disequilibrium method for estimating contemporary N e in natural populations. This paper presents a mathematical model of the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Kunming,the provincial capital of Yunnan, China. The population is divided into several groups, with individuals possibly changing group. Two transmission routes of HIV are considered: needle sharing betweeninjecting drug users (IDUs) and commercial sex between female sex worker(FSWs) and clients. The model includes male IDUs who are also clients and female IDUs who are also FSWs. Groups are split in two—risky and safe—according to condom use and needle sharing. A system of partialdifferential equations is derived to describe the spread of the disease. For the simulation, parameters are chosen to fit as much as possibledata publicly available for Kunming. Some mathematical properties of the model—in particular the epidemic threshold R 0 which determines the goal of public health interventions—are also presented. Though the model couples two transmission routes of HIV, the approximation , with closed formulas for and , appears to be quite good. The critical levels of condom use and clean needle use necessary to stop both the sexual transmission and the transmission among IDUs can therefore be determined independently.  相似文献

A novel actinomycete strain YIM 31724T was isolated from a soil sample collected from Dali, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China. The strain is characterized by white to yellow white aerial mycelia, spiral spore chains and smooth spore surface. The cell wall of strain YIM 31724T contained LL-diaminopimelic acid (A2pm) and traces of meso-A2pm. Whole-cell hydrolysates contained mainly glucose and small amounts of galactose and xylose. The menaquinones were MK-9(H6) (31%) and MK-9(H8) (69%). Phosphatidylethanolamine was the diagnostic phospholipid. The DNA G+C content of strain YIM 31724T was 67.2 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the strain belongs to the genus Streptomyces, with highest similarity to Streptomyces rimosus subsp. rimosus JCM 4667T (rRNA gene sequence similarity value of 98.9%) and Streptomyces erumpens DSM 40941T (rRNA gene sequence similarity value of 98.7%). Based on its phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, including low DNA–DNA hybridization results, strain is proposed as the type strain of a novel species, Streptomyces daliensis sp. nov.  相似文献

Quantifying foliar stable carbon isotope discrimination (Δ) is a powerful approach for understanding genetic variation in gas exchange traits in large populations. The genetic architecture of Δ and third-year height is described for more than 1,000 clones of Pinus taeda tested on two contrasting sites. for Δ was 0.14 (±0.03), 0.20 (±0.07), and 0.09 (±0.04) at Florida, Georgia, and across sites, respectively. for stable carbon isotope discrimination ranged from 0.25 (±0.03) at the Florida site to 0.33 (±0.03) at the Georgia site, while the across-site estimate of was 0.19 (±0.02). For third-year height, ranged from 0.13 (±0.05) at the Georgia site to 0.20 (±0.06) at the Florida site with an across-site estimate of 0.09 (±0.05). Broad-sense heritability estimates for third-year height were 0.23 (±0.03), 0.28 (±0.03), and 0.13 (±0.02) at the Florida site, Georgia site, and across sites, respectively. Type B total genetic correlation for Δ was 0.70 ± 0.06, indicating that clonal rankings were relatively stable across sites, while for third-year height, rankings of clones were more unstable across the two trials . Third-year height and Δ were negatively correlated at the parental , full-sib family , and clonal levels, suggesting that genetic variation for Δ in P. taeda may be a result of differences in photosynthetic capacity. We conclude that Δ may be a useful selection trait to improve water-use efficiency and for guiding deployment decisions in P. taeda.  相似文献

The water-soluble cell wall polysaccharides from green seaweeds of Ulva spp. (Ulvales, Chlorophyta), referred to as ulvan, demonstrate composition- and structure-related functional properties. Mid-infrared spectroscopy combined with chemometric techniques was investigated as a means to rapidly predict the chemical composition of ulvan extracts. A calibration was realized with 41 ulvan extracts from two Ulva species. The variables studied included the constituent sugars (rhamnose, xylose, glucose, galactose, glucuronic acid, iduronic acid), protein, and sulfate contents. The correlation between Fourier transform infrared and chemical data was developed using partial least squares (PLS) regression with full cross-validation (leave one out). The coefficients of determination in cross-validation () and the standard error in cross-validation were determined for each variable. The PLS model validation resulted in a coefficient of determination () and a standard error in prediction. Good predictions were obtained for rhamnose ( = 0.9244), xylose ( = 0.8758), glucuronic acid ( = 0.9415), and sulfate ( = 0.9218), which are the main ulvan constituents. However, minor components such as proteins, glucose, galactose, and iduronic acid were not correctly predicted. This study showed that mid-infrared spectroscopy combined with PLS regression is a reliable and fast method for the quantification of the main chemical constituents of ulvan extracts.  相似文献

Among the two-center integrals occurring in the molecular context, the two-center overlap integrals are numerous and difficult to evaluate to a level of high accuracy. The analytical and numerical difficulties arise mainly from the presence of the spherical Bessel integrals in the analytic expressions of these molecular integrals. Different approaches have been used to develop efficient algorithms for the numerical evaluation of the molecular integrals under consideration. These approaches are based on quadrature rules, Levin’s u transform, or the epsilon-algorithm of Wynn. In the present work, we use the nonlinear transformation of Sidi. This transformation is shown to be highly efficient in improving the convergence of highly oscillatory integrals, and it has been applied to molecular multicenter integrals, namely three-center attraction, hybrid, two-, three-, and four-center two-electron Coulomb and exchange integrals over B functions and over Slater-type functions. It is also been shown that when evaluating these molecular multicenter integrals the transformation is more efficient compared with the methods cited above. It is now proven that the integrand occurring in the analytic expression of the two-center overlap integrals satisfies all the conditions required to apply the transformation. A highly accurate algorithm based on this transformation is now developed. Special cases are presented and discussed for a better optimization of the algorithm. The numerical results section illustrates clearly the high efficiency of our algorithm.  相似文献

Using a recombinant luminescent Nitrosomonas europaea assay to quantify biological nitrification inhibition (BNI), we found that a wild relative of wheat (Leymus racemosus (Lam.) Tzvelev) had a high BNI capacity and releases about 20 times more BNI compounds (about 30 ATU g−1 root dry weight 24 h−1) than Triticum aestivum L. (cultivated wheat). The root exudate from cultivated wheat has no inhibitory effect on nitrification when applied to soil; however, the root exudate from L. racemous suppressed formation and kept more than 90% of the soil’s inorganic-N in the -form for 60 days. The high-BNI capacity of L. racemosus is mostly associated with chromosome Lr#n. Two other chromosomes Lr#J, and Lr#I also have an influence on BNI production. Tolerance of L. racemosus to is controlled by chromosome 7Lr#1-1. Sustained release of BNI compounds occurred only in the presence of in the root environment. Given the level of BNI production expressed in DALr#n and assuming normal plant growth, we estimated that nearly 87,500,000 ATU of BNI activity ha−1 day−1 could be released in a field of vigorously growing wheat; this amounts to the equivalent of the inhibitory effect from the application of 52.5 g of the synthetic nitrification inhibitor nitrapyrin (one AT unit of BNI activity is equivalent to 0.6 μg of nitrapyrin). At this rate of BNI production it would take only 19 days for a BNI-enabled wheat crop to produce the inhibitory power of a standard commercial application of nitrapyrin, 1 kg ha−1. The synthetic nitrification inhibitor, dicyandiamide, blocked specifically the AMO (ammonia monooxygenase) pathway, while the BNI from L. racemosus blocked the HAO (hydroxylamine oxidoreductase) pathway in Nitrosomonas. Here we report the first finding of high production of BNI in a wild relative of any cereal and its successful introduction and expression in cultivated wheat. These results demonstrate the potential for empowering the new generation of wheat cultivars with high-BNI capacity to control nitrification in wheat-production systems. Hairy root cultures of Gentiana macrophylla were established by infecting the different explants four Agrobacterium rhizogenes strains namely A4GUS, R1000, LBA 9402 and ATCC11325, and hairy root lines were established with A. rhizogenes strain R1000 in 1/2 MS + B5 medium. Initially, 42 independent hairy root clones were maintained and seven clones belongs to different category were evaluated for growth, morphology, integration and expression of Ri T-DNA genes, and alkaloid contents in dry root samples. On the basis of total root elongation, lateral root density and biomass accumulation on solid media, hairy root clones were separated into three categories. PCR and Southern hybridization analysis revealed both left and right T-DNA integration in the root clones and RT-PCR analysis confirmed the expression of hairy root inducible gene. GUS assay was also performed to confirm the integration of left T-DNA. The accumulation of considerable amounts of the root-specific secoiridoid glucosides gentiopicroside was observed in GM1 ( and ) and the GM2 ( and DNA) type clones in considerably higher amount whether as two but callus-type clones (GM3) accumulated much less or only very negligible amounts of gentiopicroside. Out of four media composition the 1/2 MS + B5 vitamin media was found most suitable. We found that initial establishment of root cultures largely depends on root:media ratio. Maximum growth rate was recorded in 1:50 root:media ratio. The maximum biomass in terms of fresh weight (33-fold) was achieved in 1/2 MS + B5 media composition after 35 days in comparison to sixfold increase in control. The biomass increase was most abundant maximum from 15 to 30 days. Influence of A. rhizogenes strains and Ri plasmid of hairy root induction, the possible role of the TL-DNA and TR-DNA genes on growth pattern of hairy root, initial root inoculum:media ratio and effect of media composition is discussed.  相似文献

The archaeogastropod Haliotis iris possesses paired bipectinate gills and normally four to six shell holes. In still water, endogenous water flow entered the branchial chamber anteriorly to the left of the head and was exhaled primarily from the three most posterior holes. The first or second anterior aperture was occasionally weakly inhalant. Cardiac interaction superimposed an oscillatory component upon ciliary ventilation but did not augment mean flow. At normal endogenous flow rates 49% of oxygen was extracted from the branchial flow, increasing to 71% at lower flows. In still water, normoxic was 0.47 μmol g−1 h−1. Oxyregulation occurred down to with partial oxyregulation down to 45 Torr (P crit), and oxyconformity below this. The oxyregulatory plateau was absent in artificially ventilated animals but normoxic was higher (0.65 μmol g−1 h−1). Endogenous ventilation was unaffected by hypoxia to 15 Torr. Heart rate decreased by ~20% at 26 Torr before falling more steeply. Oxygen uptake from the branchial ventilation stream fully accounted for normoxic In hypoxia (<30 Torr), no uptake occurred from the head or foot despite extensive eversion of the epipodium. Blood oxygen measurements excluded the right mantle as a significant gas exchange organ. Changes in oxygen uptake caused by changes in the velocity of external water currents support the concept of induced ventilation and suggest that in still water aerobic respiration was ventilation-limited. Although ciliary ventilation appears adequate to support resting aerobic metabolism, induced ventilation may provide increased aerobic scope for activity and repayment of oxygen debt. Phosphorus content in sediment, water and tissues of three macrophyte species growing in Myall Lake, Australia were studied from January to November, 2004. The sites investigated were North–West (NW), North–East (NE), South–West (SW) bays and Central deep area of the lake (CL). The objective of this study was to investigate how total phosphorus (TP) in plant tissues relate to phosphorus pools and the role played by the aquatic macrophyte species under investigation in phosphorus recycling in the lake. Of the four investigated sites of the lake, TP in plant tissues were significantly higher in North–West and South–West bays compared to the rest. Najas marina had significantly higher TP content (e.g., 1.55 and 1.44 mg/g dw.; P < 0.05) for NW and SW respectively, than the other two species. N. marina is a rooted macrophyte while charophytes (C. fibrosa and Nitella hyalina) are pseudo-rooted macrophytes. Total phosphorus in the sediment and water column were significantly higher in Central deep area of the lake compared to the other three bays (P < 0.05, n 5). Soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP) and total dissolved phosphorus (TDP) in sediment pore water correlated significantly with phosphorus content in the tissue of N. marina ( ; ) as well as TP in sediment (␣ and ). Using the two-compartmental uptake model, it was observed that, sediment was the main compartment through which Ni. hyalina obtained phosphorus while for the other two species, water column was the uptake route for the phosphorus. These correlations suggest that, water column and sediments are important pathways for phosphorus uptake in plants.  相似文献

A simple theoretical model of a Darwinian system (a periodic system with a multiplication phase and a selection phase) of entities (initial form of polymer strand, primary mutant and satellite mutants) is given. First case: one mutant is considered. One individual of the mutant appears in the multiplication phase of the first generation. The probabilities to find N individuals of the mutant after the multiplication phase M of the n-th generation (with probability δ of an error in the replication, where all possible errors are fatal errors) and after the following selection phase S (with probability β that one individual survives) are given iteratively. The evolutionary tree is evaluated. Averages from the distributions and the probability of extinction are obtained. Second case: two mutants are considered (primary mutant and new form). One individual of the primary mutant appears in the multiplication phase of the first generation. The probabilities to find N p individuals of the primary mutant and N m individuals of the new form after the multiplication phase M of the n-th generation (probability ɛ of an error in the replication of the primary mutant giving the new form) and after the following selection phase S (probabilities β p and β m that one individual each of the primary mutant and of the new form survives) are given iteratively.
