小黄斑蜂属Anthidiellum Cockerell,1904为中国首次报道的属.记述中国切叶蜂科小黄斑蜂属AnthidiellumCockerell,小黄斑蜂亚属Anthidiellum s.str.Cockerell的种类,并编制了3新种的检索表,3新种是:大盾小黄斑蜂Anthidiellum(s.str.)scutellatum sp.nov.,北方小黄斑蜂Anthidiellum(s.str.)borealis sp.nov.,新疆小黄斑蜂An-thidiellum(s.str)xinjiangensis sp.nov..模式标本均保存于中国科学院动物研究所.     

尖唇叶蜂属系统分类研究(膜翅目:叶蜂科)

尖唇叶蜂属Adamas Malaise是中国新记录属。本文记述1个中国新记录种：宽缘尖唇叶蜂Adamas jakowleffi(Konow,1897)和4个新种：黄尾尖唇叶蜂A.caudatus sp.nov.,平行尖唇叶蜂A.parallelus sp.nov.,徐氏尖唇叶蜂A.xuisp.nov.和吕氏尖唇叶蜂A.lui sp.nov.,给出了详细描述和形态特征图,并编制了分种检索表。详细讨论了尖唇叶蜂属的系统学地位,初步分析了6个已知种之间的关系,认为A.jakowleffi(Konow)和A.ermak Zhelochovtsev,A.caudatus和A.parallelus.A.xui和A.lui分别构成一对姊妹种关系。尖唇叶蜂属上颚不对称,左上颚具1个大型基齿,右上颚单齿,唇基缺口深,侧叶尖,前翅臀室具很短的倾斜横脉,前胸侧板腹侧接触面窄或无,后胸后背板中央甚狭,后足基跗节很短等,表明本属是平背叶蜂亚科成员,系统学地位介于Allantini族和Empriini族之间,并自成一族——尖唇叶蜂族Adamasini。

记述采自中国甘肃的钩瓣叶蜂属3新种,肿跗钩瓣叶蜂Macrophya incrassitarsalia Wei et Wu,sp.nov.,黑体钩瓣叶蜂Macrophya melanosomata Wei et Xin,sp.nov.和白转钩瓣叶蜂Macrophya leucotrochanterata Wei et Li,sp.nov..新种模式标本保存于中南林业科技大学昆虫模式标本室.

Alocanthedon, a new subgenus of Chalicodoma from Southeast Asia (Hymenoptera, Megachilidae)

A new subgenus, Alocanthedon Engel and Gonzalez subgen. n., is described for five species of unusual Southeast Asian bees in the genus Chalicodoma Lepeletier de Saint Fargeau (Megachilinae: Megachilini). The subgenus is most noteworthy for the deep postgenal depression or furrow in males (bordered outwardly near the base of the mandible by a protuberant, thick lamella) and the presence of a dense patch of black setae posteriorly in the forewing medial cell (except in one species) [resembling the dense patch of setae among the submarginal cells of Thrinchostoma Saussure (Halictidae: Halictinae: Halictini)]. The subgenus is characterized and distinguished from the related Callomegachile Michener. A key to the following five species presently included in the subgenus is provided: Chalicodoma aterrimum (Smith), Chalicodoma atratiforme (Meade-Waldo) comb. n., Chalicodoma memecylonae Engel sp. n., Chalicodoma odontophorum Engel sp. n., and Chalicodoma apoicola Engel sp. n.Chalicodoma (Callomegachile) atratiforme sininsulae (Cockerell) is newly placed in synonymy with C. (C.) fulvipenne (Smith). Species have been collected from Memecylaceae (Myrtales) and Fabaceae (Fabales). The phylogenetic relationships of Alocanthedon among other Megachilini are briefly elaborated upon.

Are pollination "syndromes" predictive? Asian dalechampia fit neotropical models

Using pollination syndrome parameters and pollinator correlations with floral phenotype from the Neotropics, we predicted that Dalechampia bidentata Blume (Euphorbiaceae) in southern China would be pollinated by female resin-collecting bees between 12 and 20 mm in length. Observations in southwestern Yunnan Province, China, revealed pollination primarily by resin-collecting female Megachile (Callomegachile) faceta Bingham (Hymenoptera: Megachilidae). These bees, at 14 mm in length, were in the predicted size range, confirming the utility of syndromes and models developed in distant regions. Phenotypic selection analyses and estimation of adaptive surfaces and adaptive accuracies together suggest that the blossoms of D. bidentata are well adapted to pollination by their most common floral visitors.     

Neoselachian sharks and rays from the British Bathonian (Middle Jurassic)

Extensive sampling of Bathonian sediments from localities across southern and central England has produced over 8000 neoselachian teeth. These comprise diverse faunas, with over 25 species being represented in total, most of them previously undescribed. Seventeen new species and seven new genera are named: Palaeoscyllium tenuidens sp. nov., Praeproscyllium oxoniensis gen. et sp. nov., Eypea leesi gen. et sp. nov., Proheterodontus sylvestris gen. et sp. nov., Paracestracion bellis sp. nov., Palaeobrachaelurus mussetti sp. nov., Heterophorcynus microdon gen. et sp. nov., Dorsetoscyllium terraefullonicum gen. et sp. nov., Ornatoscyllium freemani gen. et sp. nov., Pseudonotidanus semirugosus gen. et sp. nov., Synechodus duffini sp. nov., Protospinax magnus sp. nov., P. bilobatus sp. nov., P. carvalhoi sp. nov., Belemnobatis kermacki sp. nov., B. stahli sp. nov. and Spathobatis delsatei sp. nov. In addition, a new family, the Pseudonotidanidae fam. nov., is defined and the status of Paranotidanus Ward and Thies, 1987, Hybodus levis Woodward, 1889 and Breviacanthus brevis (Phillips, 1871) are discussed. These taxa show strong facies specificity, with different species being restricted to different palaeoenvironments.
