产卵期家蝇MuscadomesticaL .卵巢中的信息化学物质诱引家蝇产卵。行为试验表明 ,雌蝇产卵时优先选择被成熟卵巢污染过的发酵麦麸 ,诱集的产卵百分率依次为 :发酵麦麸 + 1对卵巢 >湿麦麸+ 1对卵巢 >发酵麦麸 >湿麦麸 ;卵巢提取物同样对产卵雌蝇有诱集活力。产卵雌蝇卵巢正己烷、二氯甲烷以及乙酸乙酯的提取物均能诱集雌蝇产卵 ,诱集的产卵百分率依次为 :雌蝇卵巢正己烷提取物 >乙酸乙酯提取物 >二氯甲烷提取物。推测家蝇卵巢中的信息化学物质可能含有家蝇产卵聚集信息素的组分。  相似文献

Houseflies ovariectomized within 12 h after emergence do not produce (Z)-9-tricosene nor demonstrate the shift from alkene to alkane synthesis that is typcal of flies with developing ovaries. A single injection of 20-hydroxyecdysone at doses of 0.1 to 10 μg will induce the pattern in ovariectomized insects that is characteristic of flies with ovaries. Furthermore, this pattern persists for 3 days, but by 6 days after hormone injection, the synthesis of (Z)-9-tricosene stops and more alkenes are produced than alkanes. A post-hormone treatment time of 16 h was required before detectable amounts of (Z)-9-tricosene appeared on ovariectomized flies. Multiple injections of 20-hydroxyecdysone at doses of 50 ng into ovariectomized flies induced (Z)-9-tricosene synthesis and a shift in alkene to alkane synthesis. Thus, 20-hydroxyecdysone was able to act as an ovarian substitute in ovariectomized flies by stimulating pheromone synthesis.  相似文献

Chemical signals play an important role in spider sexual communication, yet the chemistry of spider sex pheromones remains poorly understood. Chemical identification of male-produced pheromone-mediating sexual behaviour in spiders has also, to our knowledge, not been reported before. This study aimed to examine whether chemically mediated strategies are used by males of the spider Pholcus beijingensis for increasing the probability of copulation. Based on data from gas chromatography–mass spectrometry analysis, electroantennography assay and a series of behavioural tests, we verified that (Z)-9-tricosene is a male-specific compound in the spider P. beijingensis. This compound acts as an aphrodisiac: it increases the likelihood that a female will mate. Mate-searching males release (Z)-9-tricosene to stimulate sexual behaviour of conspecific females. In the two-choice assay, however, sexually receptive females show no preference to the chambers containing (Z)-9-tricosene. This indicates that the male pheromone of P. beijingensis is not an attractant per se to the conspecific females. This is, to our knowledge, the first identification of a male-produced aphrodisiac pheromone in spiders.  相似文献

An ovitrap (BR-OVT) based on physical and chemical stimuli for attracting gravid Culex quinquefasciatus (Diptera: Culicidae) females was developed and evaluated under laboratory and field conditions. Attractants were assayed using alternative chamber bioassays prior to being used in the BR-OVT oviposition trap. A significant preference of gravid females for sites containing conspecific egg rafts was observed, as a response to the natural oviposition pheromone, as well as for sites treated with the synthetic pheromone erythro-6-acetoxy-5-hexadecanolide. Five- to 20-day old grass infusion was strongly attractive to gravid females for laying eggs. On the other hand, entomopathogenic Bacillus sphaericus (Bs) did not influence the choice of an oviposition site when used in combination with grass infusion and can therefore be used as a larvicide in ovitraps. Results from field trials showed that the BR-OVT with grass infusion and with or without Bs works as a preferred oviposition site for Cx. quinquefasciatus. The BR-OVT was more effective for egg collection when placed indoors and comparison with the number of egg rafts laid in cesspits over 40 days indicates that this very simple ovitrap may be a useful tool for monitoring populations of the most important of the vectors of bancroftian filariasis.  相似文献

The non-polar components of female body wax and pheromone gland extracts of the yellow peach moth synergistically enhanced male behavioral responses from close to pheromone sources in wind tunnel tests when mixed with an aldehyde pheromone blend. When the non-polar fractions (NPFs) of female body wax were further separated by column chromatography, synergistic activities were found in the 3 and 50% ether in hexane fractions, and they additively increased male responses. The main components of the first fraction were (Z)-9-tricosene, (Z)-9-pentacosene, (Z)-9-heptacosene, (Z)-9-nonacosene and (Z)-9-hentriacontene. Only (Z)-9-heptacosene showed a significant synergistic effect in enhancing male responses, but the other components had no effect. A mixture of the five monoenyl hydrocarbons lost activity at lower doses than 5 ng. Natural ratios of these hydrocarbons in the female body wax and pheromone gland extracts were similar, but the amount of (Z)-9-heptacosene in the female body wax was significantly higher than in the pheromone gland extracts. We conclude that (Z)-9-heptacosene increases male responses to aldehyde pheromones, and unknown component(s) in the 50% ether in the hexane fraction are required for full synergistic enhancement by the NPFs of the female body wax and the pheromone gland extracts.  相似文献

Pheromone production in the housefly was monitored during oögenesis and in ovariectomized insects by gas-liquid chromatography (GLC) and radio-GLC. The presence of vitellogenic ovaries was required for the initiation of (Z)-9-tricosene (muscalure), (Z)-9,10-epoxytricosane and (Z)-14-tricosen-10-one synthesis. Methylalkane synthesis was enhanced by developing ovaries. Insects ovariectomized within 12 hr after emergence produced no detectable amounts of (Z)-9-tricosene, C23 epoxide nor C23 ketone and synthesized less methylalkanes than the controls. This effect was reversed by ovary implants. When flies were ovariectomized after oviposition, synthesis of (Z)-9-tricosene, C23 epoxide and C23 ketone continued. Thus, initiation of the synthesis of these C23 pheromone compounds required a vitellogenic ovary, but the ovary was not required to maintain synthesis.  相似文献

在中国许多地区, 大头金蝇Chrysomya megacephala F.已侵入过去由家蝇Musca domestica L.占绝对优势的垃圾生态位, 逐渐成为城市蝇类的优势种. 为了解单独和混合饲养时食物种类对家蝇和大头金蝇幼虫生长发育的影响, 在室内观察了野外大头金蝇和家蝇F1代在湿麦麸、猪瘦肉以及两者混合物上的产卵选择和生活史. 结果显示: (1)大头金蝇嗜在含有猪瘦肉的基质上产卵, 而家蝇嗜在含有麦麸的基质上产卵;(2)初孵家蝇和大头金蝇幼虫都能在含有瘦肉的食物上发育至成虫. 在麦麸上, 初孵家蝇幼虫能发育至成虫, 而初孵和2龄大头金蝇幼虫在进入下一龄期前全部死亡, 但少数3龄大头金蝇幼虫能发育至成虫;(3)等量初孵家蝇与大头金蝇在含有猪瘦肉的食物上共同生长时, 与家蝇相比, 大头金蝇的发育历期较短、存活率较高. 与家蝇在麦麸上共同生长时, 与在麦麸上独立生长的同龄大头金蝇相比, 大头金蝇的发育历期较短、存活率较高. 这些结果表明, 共生时家蝇可促进大头金蝇对植物质营养的利用, 这也许是大头金蝇能成功侵入家蝇占绝对优势的垃圾生态位的一个重要原因.  相似文献

Using gas chromatography the relative amounts of (Z)-9-tricosene (muscalure) and some other hydrocarbons on the cuticle of 1- to 20-day-old houseflies (Musca domestica L.) from different strains were determined. Flies from a WHO strain, in culture since 1961, and first-generation laboratory-cultured flies from two wild-type strains from a poultry breeding and a cow-house with pigsty, respectively, were compared. On WHO females hydrocarbons with 23–25 C atoms constituted about 65% of the total hydrocarbons, whereas on wild-type females less than 2% of these compounds was present. (Z)-9-tricosene comprised up to 20–30% of the total hydrocarbons on 5- to 20-day-old WHO females, whereas less than 0.5% (Z)-9-tricosene was present on the wild-type females. We also compared the amounts of (Z)-9-tricosene and some other hydrocarbons on female houseflies, kept in culture in the laboratory for several generations. It appeared that whereas on first-generation wild-type females hardly or no (Z)-9-tricosene could be detected, the amounts of this substance had increased considerably after some tens of generations in the laboratory. It is suggested that this was due to selection in subsequent generations of high-density populations. Production of (Z)-9-tricosene and of tricosane was shown to be closely linked. Selection did not affect the production of other cuticular hydrocarbons by the females. It is suggested that in mixed populations (both sexes together in a cage) in the course of time (Z)-9-tricosene is transferred from females to males and (Z)-9-heptacosene from males to females. It is concluded that reproductive ability of houseflies does not primarily depend on the amounts of (Z)-9-tricosene on females, although higher amounts of this substance may increase contacts between males and females.  相似文献

Secondary metabolites produced by Trichoderma viride, a deuteromycetes fungus, under submerged culture condition were formulated and evaluated for oviposition attractancy against gravid females of Culex quinquefasciatus mosquito. At a concentration of 10 g ml-1 the formulation showed remarkable attractancy with an oviposition active index (OAI) of +0.52. When the oviposition attractancy of the formulation was compared with a known oviposition attractant, p-cresol, both at 10 g ml-1, the former was found to be more attractive to result in 70% egg laying than the later with 30% egg laying. Thin layer chromatography fractions of the secondary metabolites showed that a fraction with Rf value of 0.88 was highly active as oviposition attractant with an OAI of +0.65. Further work on identification of the active principle(s) of the microbial formulation might lead to an oviposition attractant useful in mosquito vector management.  相似文献

作物秸秆是重要的农业资源,为有效利用作物秸秆,本文利用枯草芽胞杆菌发酵玉米秸秆,配制成人工饲料来饲养家蝇。从菌液加入量和发酵天数来考察对家蝇饲养效果的影响,结果表明:枯草芽胞杆菌菌液加入量为3 mL(3.2×10~(11)cfu/mL),发酵天数3d时对家蝇饲养效果较好,幼虫质量为16.91g,与不加菌液的对照组(13.30g)相比存在显著性差异(P0.05)。经过枯草芽胞杆菌发酵和家蝇幼虫处理后,玉米秸秆的纤维素、半纤维素、木质素的绝对含量都显著降低(P0.05)。经过家蝇取食后的饲料残渣,经检测,有机质等均达到国家标准。最优家蝇饲料配方为:枯草芽胞杆菌菌液加入量3mL(3.2×10~(11) cfu/mL),发酵天数3d,玉米秸秆和麦麸各125g,每250g饲料添加初孵幼虫200mg。本研究利用枯草芽胞杆菌发酵玉米秸秆,提高其营养价值,并进一步饲养家蝇,为秸秆的资源化利用和家蝇规模化饲养奠定了基础。  相似文献

When the female housefly retains eggs, vitellogenesis in the penultimate oöcytes is suppressed during continued protein feeding. Allatectomy of gravid females or of females with developing oöcytes did not prevent maturation of a second batch of eggs. This result does not support the claim of Adams (1970) that an oöstatic hormone, produced by ovaries with retained eggs, inactivates the corpus allatum (CA) and thereby prevents development of the next batch of eggs.The report of Adams and Hintz (1969) that the CA regulates egg maturation depends on their removal of ring gland, which they incorrectly refer to as ‘allatectomy’. In the present report, removal of the ring gland from 1 day old females suppressed egg development, whereas removal of the CA alone did not. Therefore, sufficient CA hormone for reproduction was secreted within 24 hr of emergence, and it was the removal of the corpus cardiacum, and not the CA, that had prevented egg development in the experiments of Adams and Hintz.  相似文献

本试验旨在研究用部分麦麸替代基础日粮中的玉米对蛋鸡生产性能的影响。选取24周龄的海兰褐蛋鸡600只,随机分为5组,每组6个重复,每个重复20只。对照组饲喂基础日粮,试验组分别饲喂麦麸替代基础日粮中玉米的5%,10%,15%,20%的试验日粮,预饲期7 d,正式试验期35 d。结果表明:麦麸替代玉米提高了平均日采食量、平均蛋重、产蛋率、料蛋比、蛋比重和哈夫单位(P<0.05)。试验表明,麦麸替代玉米,可以提高蛋鸡生产性能,改善蛋品质,且替代10%的玉米效果最佳。  相似文献

The silk produced by the group-living mite Tetranychus urticae provides group protection and is used as an informative material during habitat settlement, egg laying, mating, and dispersal events. In this context, cues contained in the silk and other materials produced by mites [eggs, black faeces (BF) and white faeces + silk (WFS)] were investigated. Chemical compounds were extracted by hexane or methanol, and choice tests were used to determine the individual attractiveness of each extract. For both solvents, individuals did not respond to the extract from eggs and WFS. BF extracts were attractive for both solvents. After separating the BF methanol extract into four different chemical components using thin layer chromatography, no component was determined to be responsible for mite attraction. This work supports the evidence that the faeces of T. urticae do contain substances that promote behavioural changes. Not particular chemical compounds but combinations of them seem to induce the mites’ preference. Moreover, the response of mites to chemicals seemed to be context dependent as mites belonging to populations with different densities differed in their attraction to BF extracts.  相似文献

The egg load of lab-cultured Cotesia marginiventris (Cresson) (Hymenoptera: Braconidae), a solitary koinobiont endoparasitoid of noctuid caterpillars, was determined in this study. Information on egg load may provide clues to more efficient in vivo rearing of C. marginiventris. I tested the hypothesis that egg load, defined as the number of mature oöcytes (i.e., fully chorionated eggs) found in adult females, was related to body size. Cotesia marginiventris females possessed two ovaries and two ovarioles per ovary; mature eggs were found in ovaries and oviducts. Newly-emerged females held an average of 149 mature eggs. Immature eggs were slightly visible in the distal portions of the ovarioles; they were not counted. Egg load was marginally related to body size (i.e., hind tibia length). The results of this study suggest that (1) body size can sometimes predict egg load or potential fecundity of lab-cultured C. marginiventris and (2) an efficient rearing system that exploits the potential fecundity of C. marginiventris might involve using young females and allowing them to oviposit in new hosts, each day, for up to a week.  相似文献

Gravid females of Caligus rogercresseyi were collected from Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) from a farm located at Chiloe Island (42°40′S73°15′W), Chile, to obtain information about the reproductive output of this parasite in vitro. The egg strings removed from the females were incubated under controlled conditions to obtain virgin adult females. One female which had mated only once produced eleven generations of eggs strings in a period of 74 days. The first egg strings of the females obtained in vitro were produced at 389 degree days (°D) after egg incubation, while the next generations of eggs strings were produced with a periodicity between 4 and 6 days dependent on the water temperature. The average length of the egg string was 3.1 mm and the mean number of eggs per string was 31. The values recorded in captivity for the egg string length and the number of eggs per string, were lower than the values recorded in gravid females from the field. One female survived for 79 days and males, maintained separately from the females, survived for 60 days.  相似文献

Area‐wide environmentally friendly pest control methods such as the sterile insect technique (SIT) are being developed and improved to contribute in managing agricultural, environmental and public health problems. A key aspect to evaluate performance of sterile males is to directly measure sterility induction in the field. Sterility induction has been estimated for tephritid fruit flies by recovering egg from host fruit in the field, the method is, however, impractical, and past efforts to develop artificial egg‐laying devices have not prospered. Here, we evaluated response of wild gravid Ceratitis capitata (Medfly) females to long‐distance fruit‐based chemical attractants, visual and tactile stimuli to develop an artificial egg‐laying device. The device combining the most attractive features was further tested under two deployment schemes. Finally, devices and deployment tactics were used to compare fertility levels between feral Medfly females under conventional management and under SIT. Agar spheres wrapped in plastic film, baited with pressed peach juice and visually enhanced with yellow discs received more egg than other combinations of attractive features. Such devices also received more eggs when deployed on fruitless trees and when placed on the orchard perimeter. The egg hatch in an orchard under conventional management was estimated at 86%, whilst egg hatch in an area under SIT was reduced to 31%. The egg‐laying devices are therefore useful to measure sterility induction and can be further improved by refining long‐distance attraction and deployment schemes.  相似文献

Host plant choice is of vital importance for egg laying herbivorous insects that do not exhibit brood care. Several aspects, including palatability, nutritional quality and predation risk, have been found to modulate host preference. Olfactory cues are thought to enable host location. However, experimental data on odor features that allow choosing among alternative hosts while still in flight are not available. It has previously been shown that M. sexta females prefer Datura wrightii compared to Nicotiana attenuata. The bouquet of the latter is more intense and contains compounds typically emitted by plants after feeding-damage to attract the herbivore’s enemies. In this wind tunnel study, we offered female gravid hawkmoths (Manduca sexta) odors from these two ecologically relevant, attractive, non-flowering host species. M. sexta females preferred surrogate leaves scented with vegetative odors form both host species to unscented control leaves. Given a choice between species, females preferred the odor bouquet emitted by D. wrightii to that of N. attenuata. Harmonizing, i.e. adjusting, volatile intensity to similar levels did not abolish but significantly weakened this preference. Superimposing, i.e. mixing, the highly attractive headspaces of both species, however, abolished discrimination between scented and non-scented surrogate leaves. Beyond ascertaining the role of blend composition in host plant choice, our results raise the following hypotheses. (i) The odor of a host species is perceived as a discrete odor ‘Gestalt’, and its core properties are lost upon mixing two attractive scents (ii). Stimulus intensity is a secondary feature affecting olfactory-based host choice (iii). Constitutively smelling like a plant that is attracting herbivore enemies may be part of a plant’s strategy to avoid herbivory where alternative hosts are available to the herbivore.  相似文献

Understanding the factors that influence the choice of substrate for oviposition by the malaria mosquito is critical to efforts directed to the management of the disease and vector control measures aimed at modifications of larval habitat. The influence of black and white substrates on Anopheles sinensis (Wiedemann) (Culicidae: Anophelinae) female oviposition behavior and egg-hatching rate and the presence of substances associated with egg laying were studied. Results from the no-choice tests showed that the number of eggs laid on black substrate was significantly greater than that laid on white substrate. Results from the dual-choice tests revealed that gravid females showed stronger preference for the black substrate than that for the white substrate. Furthermore, the egg-hatching rate on white substrate was significantly lower than that observed on black substrate. Results from the three-choice tests showed that substance of egg origin was associated with the black substrates (UBS) that were attractive for and stimulated oviposition. The results of this study suggest that there might be some compounds in the black substrates which play a positive role in the oviposition behavior of female mosquitoes and in the development of eggs and that eggs might produce and release active substances that attract females and stimulate oviposition. These results could be important as regards to the optimization of mosquitoes raised for experimental purposes and the control of malaria mosquitoes by altering the oviposition behavior of gravid females.  相似文献

The role of olfactory cues for host search is much less investigated in day‐active butterflies than in their relatives, the nocturnal moths. The goal of this study was to investigate whether host‐plant volatiles from foliar extracts of hop, Humulus lupulus L. (Cannabaceae), evoke electroantennographic (EAG) responses, increase landing rates, and stimulate egg‐laying behavior of gravid Polygonia c‐album L. (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae) females. Eighty‐nine volatile compounds were detected in a non‐concentrated methanol extract of hop by gas chromatography–mass spectrometry, 11 of which elicited an EAG response. Concentration of the crude extract significantly reduced landing rates on artificial leaves treated with the sample due to loss of volatile compounds, but after landing the oviposition response of gravid females was not affected. A mixture of eight commercially available EAG‐active volatiles increased the landing rate of gravid females to their source but did not act as oviposition stimulants. Dividing the volatile compounds into two groups – consisting of (1) hexanal, (E)‐2‐hexenal, octanal, nonanal, and decanal, and (2) sulcatone, humulene, and benzyl alcohol – obliterated effectiveness, revealing synergism between compounds. Although volatiles did not stimulate oviposition, they significantly contributed to the distribution of eggs by increasing the landing rates on treated artificial leaves.  相似文献

The production of Cyclosporin A using wheat bran as the solid substrate was attempted using Tolypocladium sp. and it was found that the yield was 10 times more than the yield obtained by submerged fermentation. Hydrolysing the wheat bran using dilute HCl was found to increase the yield. Different solvents were used for the optimization of extraction of Cyc A from the fermented bran.  相似文献
