The translocation of manganese (Mn), nickel (Ni), cobalt (Co), zinc (Zn) and cadmium (Cd) in white lupin (Lupinus albus cv. Amiga) was compared considering root-to-shoot transport, and redistribution in the root system and in the shoot, as well as the content at different stages of cluster roots and in other roots. To investigate the redistribution of these heavy metals, lupin plants were labelled via the root for 24 h with radionuclides and subsequently grown hydroponically for several weeks. 54Mn, 63Ni and 65Zn were transported via the xylem to the shoot. 63Ni and 65Zn were redistributed afterwards via the phloem from older to younger leaves, while 54Mn remained in the oldest leaves. A strong retention in the root was observed for 57Co and 109Cd. Cluster roots contained higher concentrations of all heavy metals than noncluster roots. Concentrations were generally higher at the beginning of cluster root development (juvenile and immature stages). Mature cluster roots also contained high levels of 54Mn and 57Co, but only reduced concentrations of 63Ni, 65Zn and 109Cd.  相似文献

Abstract

Soil pollution by heavy metals, particularly lead, is an important environmental concern; the bioavailability of such pollutants is strongly dependent on their chemical form. Here, the speciation of Pb(II) in soil fractions as a function of time shortly after its incorporation is studied, using a selective sequential extraction method. The sample came from an Argentinean Pampas region and was extensively characterised, including Rietveld analysis of the silt+clay fraction XRD pattern to find the major mineral components. Experiments were run twice, once in the winter and once in the summer. The results show different speciation time profiles in both cases, showing faster changes in winter due to the higher water content. The summer experiment corresponds to an earlier stage in the speciation profile evolution compared with winter. The soluble/exchangeable fraction decreases with time in summer but shows a lower and constant value in the winter. A high proportion is found to be adsorbed onto the stable (aluminosilicates+quartz) mineral fraction. The results strongly suggest that, even at a short time following soil pollution with Pb, a high proportion is adsorbed onto the mineral fraction, with only a low fraction being bioavailable. The most stable (mineral incorporated) form is observed to increase with time. Soil water content appears to be more important than temperature in determining the differences between the two.  相似文献

The bioaccumulation and rhizofiltration potential of P. stratiotes for heavy metals were investigated to mitigate water pollution in the Egyptian wetlands. Plant and water samples were collected monthly through nine quadrats equally distributed along three sites at Al-Sero drain in Giza Province. The annual mean of the shoot biomass was 10 times that of the root. The concentrations of shoot heavy metals fell in the order: Fe < Mn < Cr < Pb < Cu < Zn < Ni < Co < Cd, while that of the roots were: Fe < Mn < Cr < Pb < Zn < Ni < Co < Cu < Cd. The bio-concentration factor (BCF) of most investigated heavy metals, except Cr and Pb, was greater than 1000, while the translocation factor (TF) of most investigated metals, except Pb and Cu, did not exceed one. The rhizofiltration potential (RP) of heavy metals was higher than 1000 for Fe, and 100 for Cr, Pb and Cu. Significant positive correlations between Fe and Cu in water with those in plant roots and leaves, respectively were recorded, which, in addition to the high BCF and RP, indicate the potential use of P. stratiotes in mitigating these toxic metals.  相似文献

从白车轴草(Trifolium repens)自然种群中采集无白车轴草单孢锈菌病史的无性系(clones)17个,有白车轴草单孢锈菌病史的无性系14个,分别作为抗病型和感受型植物实验材料;采集白车轴草单孢锈菌(Uromyces trifolii-repentis)菌系(strains)10个,作为病菌实验材料.分别设置并进行了两个温室实验、一个田间盆栽实验和一个原生长地移栽实验,实验处理上分对照、单菌系接种和10个菌系接种等3种.实验结果表明,无论是用单菌系接种还是10个菌系接种,植株发病的概率和程度均与其抗病性有关,抗病型植株(无病史)发病的概率和程度显著低于感受型(有病史)植株.在相同处理的实验中(无论是田间实验还是温室实验),无病史植株和有病史植株的生长无显著差异;不同处理田间实验植株的生长有显著差异,病情愈重,生长愈差.无病史植株的抗病性明显强于有病史植株.但是,原生长地的移栽实验结果表明,在无病原菌存在的情况下,有病史植株的(叶)生长显著好于无病史植株.可以认为,研究生物个体对环境因子反应性差异的实验应当在自然条件下和自然梯度范围内进行.  相似文献

Hickory and peanut hydrochars were chemically activated with KOH and H3PO4 and tested for their ability to remove methylene blue and lead from aqueous solutions. The physicochemical characteristics of the activated hydrochars determined were surface area, pore volume, and elemental composition. Kinetics and isotherm studies were then conducted on methylene blue adsorption. Compared to their nonactivated counterparts, the chemically activated hydrochars had higher surface areas and more functional groups. Activated hydrochars also had greater methylene blue and lead adsorption rates, which can be attributed to the improved physicochemical characteristics. H3PO4 activated hydrochars removed more contaminants than the corresponding KOH ones.  相似文献

代谢组学作为系统生物学的一部分,因其具有分析速度快的特点,被广泛用于生物医学等方面的研究。目前代谢组学在环境毒理学方面的研究主要针对单一污染物,但也需要考虑到被污染地的复杂情况。通过介绍代谢组学及其发展历程,总结了目前主流代谢组学技术的各自特点,讨论了代谢组学在环境重金属、有机污染物和抗生素中的毒性评估以及环境胁迫耐受性中的评价等方面内容,综述了其在环境毒理学中的应用,并指出其应用不足,旨在为代谢组学应用于环境毒理学的研究提供参考。  相似文献

BACKGROUND AND AIMS: The uptake, translocation and redistribution of the heavy metals zinc, manganese, nickel, cobalt and cadmium are relevant for plant nutrition as well as for the quality of harvested plant products. The long-distance transport of these heavy metals within the root system and the release to the shoot in young wheat (Triticum aestivum 'Arina') plants were investigated. METHODS: After the application of 65Zn, 54Mn, 63Ni, 57Co and 109Cd for 24 h to one seminal root (the other seminal roots being excised) of 54-h-old wheat seedlings, the labelled plants were incubated for several days in hydroponic culture on a medium without radionuclides. KEY RESULTS: The content of 65Zn decreased quickly in the labelled part of the root. After the transfer of 65Zn from the roots to the shoot, a further redistribution in the phloem from older to younger leaves was observed. In contrast to 65Zn, 109Cd was released more slowly from the roots to the leaves and was subsequently redistributed in the phloem to the youngest leaves only at trace levels. The content of 63Ni decreased quickly in the labelled part of the root, moving to the newly formed parts of the root system and also accumulating transiently in the expanding leaves. The 54Mn content decreased quickly in the labelled part of the root and increased simultaneously in leaf 1. A strong retention in the labelled part of the root was observed after supplying 57Co. CONCLUSIONS: The dynamics of redistribution of 65Zn, 54Mn, 63Ni, 57Co and 109Cd differed considerably. The rapid redistribution of 63Ni from older to younger leaves throughout the experiment indicated a high mobility in the phloem, while 54Mn was mobile only in the xylem and 57Co was retained in the labelled root without being loaded into the xylem.  相似文献

Plants of Indian mustard (Brassica juncea) were treated with either 50 μM Cd, 250 μM Zn, or 25 μM Cd+125 μM Zn and the progression of chlorosis in the mature leaves monitored. As relative chlorophyll (Chl) contents in the mature leaves decreased to 75, 50, and 25 % relative to controls, both mature and young leaves were harvested and the Chl pools extracted. The metal treatments caused a greater loss of Chl b than Chl a. As mature leaves underwent progressive chlorosis, the young leaves displayed a characteristic over-greening, due largely to increased content of Chl b. However, as the young leaves began to experience chlorosis, a greater loss of Chl b was also observed. Thus during metal induced chlorosis, there is a preferential turnover of the Chl b pool in mature and young leaves.  相似文献

Compound contamination in soil, caused by unreasonable waste disposal, has attracted increasing attention on a global scale, particularly since multiple heavy metals and/or organic pollutants are entering natural ecosystem through human activities, causing an enormous threat. The remediation of co-contaminated soil is more complicated and difficult than that of single contamination, due to the disparate remediation pathways utilized for different types of pollutants. Several modern remediation technologies have been developed for the treatment of co-contaminated soil. Biological remediation technologies, as the eco-friendly methods, have received widespread concern due to soil improvement besides remediation. This review summarizes the application of biological technologies, which contains microbial technologies (function microbial remediation and composting or compost addition), biochar, phytoremediation technologies, genetic engineering technologies and biochemical technologies, for the remediation of co-contaminated soil with heavy metals and organic pollutants. Mechanisms of these technologies and their remediation efficiencies are also reviewed. Based on this study, this review also identifies the future research required in this field.  相似文献

We present a mechanistic model which describes root uptake and leaching of heavy metals in the plant root zone, accounting for solution- and surface-complexation, (kinetic) mineral dissolution, heavy metal diffusion towards the root, root uptake, root exudation, ligand degradation and convective-dispersive transport of the soluble species. The model was used to simulate the influence of EDTA addition on Cu transport and plant uptake and the effect of oxalate exudation by roots on Cu transport and bioavailability using parameter values from the literature. In the simulations we assumed that free Cu2+ is the bioavailable form. Under slightly acidic conditions (pH 6) the model predicted that EDTA stabilizes Cu while at a slightly alkaline pH (pH 7.5), EDTA mobilizes Cu. The addition of EDTA approximately halved the cumulative Cu uptake after 360 days at pH 4.5, and reduced the uptake by a factor of 100 and 1000 at pH 6 and 7.5, respectively. Although the total dissolved concentration was increased, plant uptake was reduced by the formation of bio-inavailable complexes. The exudation of oxalate resulted in a decrease of the Cu concentration breaking through below the root zone, due to sorption of Cu-oxalate. In the presence of dissolved organic carbon (DOC), the exudation of oxalate increased Cu leaching considerably at pH 6 and 7.5. In the absence of DOC, the exudation of oxalate reduced Cu uptake due to the formation and adsorption of Cu-oxalate on goethite surface sites. Exudation of oxalate in the presence of DOC resulted in a further decrease of Cu uptake. Oxalate gradually takes over from DOC in binding Cu due to simultaneous production of oxalate and leaching of DOC. The simulations show that addition or exudation of ligands does not necessarily increase the solubility, transport and bioavailability of metals. Depending on the conditions (mainly the pH), also reduced transport and uptake can be observed, either by formation of ternary surface complexes or reduction of free metal concentration. 目前水溶性有机质(Dissolved Organic Matter)已逐步成为陆地生态系统中的一个研究热点。系统地评述了陆地生态系统中DOM的组成特点及其环境效应。尽管关于陆地生态系统中DOM的研究还不完善,至今对其性质,组成和分类方法等问题看法不一,但现有结果已经表明DOM是一种十分活跃的重要化学组分,它对陆地生态系统中污染物质的溶解,吸附,解吸,吸收,迁移和生物毒性,微生物活动以及土壤形成过程等均有显著的影响。影响DOM在地生态系统中的环境效应的主要因素包括:DOM与污染物的络合作用,污染物溶解/沉淀作用,土壤对DOM的吸附作用,土壤质地,酸碱缓冲作用等。  相似文献

The influence of Fe nutrition on the distribution of the heavy metals Fe, Mn, Zn, and Cu and of the heavy metal chelators nicotianamine (NA) and citrate in 6 different shoot and 3 different root parts and in xylem exudate of a NA-containing tomato wild type and its NA-less mutant was investigated. Under the same Fe supply the mutant showed higher Fe, Mn, and Zn concentrations in all organs investigated, with exception of the shoot apex. The Cu concentration in the mutant was only in root parts higher than in the wild type but much lower in leaves. Analyses of xylem exudate showed that Fe, Mn, and Zn were readily translocated by both genotypes from the roots to the shoot at all levels of Fe supply, whereas in the absence of NA, Cu was only poorly transported. Citrate as main Fe chelator in the xylem was present in high concentrations in xylem exudate of the wild type under low Fe supply but in the mutant also at 10 M FeEDTA. NA occurred in xylem exudate of the wild type in concentrations high enough to chelate heavy metal ions.Generally, high Fe supply induced a decrease of Mn, Cu, and Zn concentrations in all organs of the wild type whereas high concentrations were observed in most cases under Fe deficiency. A positive correlation between Fe supply and NA concentration existed only in the shoot apex and in the xylem exudate of wild type plants. From the correlation between Cu and NA translocation and from the high stability constant of the NA-Cu-complex (log K=18.6) it is concluded that NA is a chelator for Cu in the xylem, whereas the translocation of Fe, Mn, and Zn is independent of NA.  相似文献

The interactions between Meloidogyne javanica, Fusarium udum and Rhizobium on pigeon pea, in the presence of nickel (Ni) and cobalt (Co) as soil pollutants, were studied. In single inoculations, M. javanica caused a reduction in plant growth, particularly at higher inoculum levels (1000 and 10 000 JJ2). Fusarium udum induced wilting symptoms and the higher concentrations of Ni and Co suppressed plant growth. Meloidogyne javanica and F. udum interacted to show more severe wilting symptoms than F. udum alone. Wilting was completely inhibited by Ni but reductions in plant growth and nodulation occurred. In the presence of Ni, M. javanica did not cause galling but nodulation was suppressed. Cobalt also suppressed wilting and nodulation but interacted with M. javanica to increase root galling and to reduce plant growth by a greater amount than the total of reductions caused by the individual treatments.  相似文献

Changes of water and suspended sediment composition during three single flood events were investigated in two small catchments in the Mosel region. In addition to suspended sediment characteristics (turbidity, loss on ignition, density, chlorophyll content), several different nutrients and heavy metals were determined in the dissolved and particulate phase. The flood events investigated were characterized by a single peaked hydrograph. In contrast suspended sediment concentrations and the other parameters showed more complex behaviour. The transport of suspended sediment was not only controlled by discharge magnitude. In the course of a flood event different suspended sediment sources are activated. Using the chemograph and the timing of samples collected during the hydrograph these suspended sediment sources can be identified. In addition to the remobilization of sediment and channel erosion, inputs of suspended solids from a sewage plant, road discharge, topsoil and interflow could be identified.  相似文献

Sediment resuspension plays a dominant physical role in downstream transport of sediment-bound, or in-place pollutants. During resuspension, however, numerous sorption reactions may alter contaminant phase distributions. Previous field resuspension studies on heavily contaminated sediments (Theis et al., 1988, J. Great Lakes Res. 14, 216) showed parallel trends in metal partitioning with pH and time for each of 7 metals (Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, Pb, Zn), when pH was < 7.5 during resuspension. To improve our ability to interpret follow-up laboratory partitioning experiments using sediments from the field sites, we conducted an evaluation of sediment sample storage as a potential factor leading to field-laboratory partitioning differences. Although metal sorption observed in the laboratory differed substantially from that observed in the field, sample storage effects, reported as holding time and changes in solid phase metal fractionation, gave minimal support for the hypothesis that sample storage caused the differences. It appears, rather, than our in vitro batch equilibrium systems incompletely replicated those attributes of a sediment-water system that are relevant to adsorption and desorption of heavy metals during a resuspension event. Accordingly, we conclude that a general improvement in the understanding of contaminant partitioning would result if future studies would assign greater importance to evaluating the effects of relevant physical phenomena on partitioning (e.g. particle interaction and shear stress), in addition to such widely studied chemical determinants as pH, time, and metal species.  相似文献

Nested PCR is a highly sensitive procedure for monitoring species of arbuscular mycorrhizal (AM) fungi and for determining their abundance in planta and in soil. DNA sequence variability in the D1 and D2 domains of the large ribosomal subunit is sufficient to design primers which discriminate between AM fungi at the species level. The usefulness of this molecular approach is illustrated in the present study on the differential impact of sewage sludges on a community of three AM fungi (Glomus mosseae, Glomus intraradices, Gigaspora rosea). Nested PCR was applied to trypan blue-stained mycorrhizal root fragments and soil mycelium from pot cultures of Medicago truncatula inoculated with the three fungi separately or together, and grown in sand containing sewage sludge that had been enriched or not with metallic or organic pollutants. G. intraradices and Gig. rosea varied in behaviour depending on whether they were inoculated alone or as a mixed community. G. mosseae showed a similar sensitivity towards each sewage sludge whether in community or alone, making it a potential candidate for ecotoxicological tests using M. truncatula to evaluate the quality or potential toxicity of sewage sludges which are widely used as fertilizers in agricultural lands. Total body burdens of Zn, Pb, Al and Cu were measured in Swedish marine nemerteans sampled from an area close to a major source of pollution. Accumulation patterns varied both seasonally and spatially. The results suggest that nemerteans may be useful bioindicator species in environmental monitoring programmes.  相似文献
