Luminescent lanthanide (III) ions have been exploited for circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) for decades. However, very few of these studies have involved chiral samarium (III) complexes. Complexes are prepared by mixing axial chiral ligands (R/S))‐2,2’‐bis(diphenylphosphoryl)‐1,1′‐binaphthyl (BINAPO) with europium and samarium Tris (trifluoromethane sulfonate) (Eu (OTf)3 and Sm (OTf)3). Luminescence‐based titration shows that the complex formed is Ln((R/S)‐BINAPO)2(OTf)3, where Ln = Eu or Sm. The CPL spectra are reported for Eu((R/S)‐BINAPO)2(OTf)3 and Sm((R/S)‐BINAPO)2(OTf)3. The sign of the dissymmetry factors, gem, was dependent upon the chirality of the BINAPO ligand, and the magnitudes were relatively large. Of all of the complexes in this study, Sm((S)‐BINAPO)2(OTf)3 has the largest gem = 0.272, which is one of the largest recorded for a chiral Sm3+ complex. A theoretical three‐dimensional structural model of the complex that is consistent with the experimental observations is developed and refined. This report also shows that (R/S)‐BINAPO are the only reported ligands where gem (Sm3+) > gem (Eu3+).  相似文献

Bis(azido)bis(phosphine)-Pd(II) and -Pt(II) complexes, [M(N3)2L2] {L = PMe3, PEt3, PMe2Ph, dppe = 1,2-bis(diphenylphosphino)ethane}, underwent 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition with organic chiral isothiocyanates (R-NCS: R = (S)-(+)-1-phenylethyl, (R)-(−)-1-phenylethyl, (±)-1-phenylethyl, (S)-(+)-1-indanyl) to give the corresponding tetrazole-thiolato Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes, trans-[M{S[CN4(R)]}2L2] or [M{S[CN4(R)]}2(dppe)]. Spectroscopic (IR and NMR) and X-ray structural analyses of the products showed that the absolute configuration of the starting organic isothiocyanates is retained throughout the reaction. Further treatments of the isolated tetrazole-thiolato complexes with electrophiles such as HCl or benzoyl chloride produced heterocyclic compounds containing a tetrazole thione or a tetrazolyl sulfide group. In addition, organic tetrazole thiones, [S = {CN4H(R)}] containing a chiral moiety, were prepared from NaN3 and R-NCS in the presence of water.  相似文献

Fluoxetine is used clinically as a racemic mixture of (+)‐(S) and (–)‐(R) enantiomers for the treatment of depression. CYP2D6 catalyzes the metabolism of both fluoxetine enantiomers. We aimed to evaluate whether exposure to gasoline results in CYP2D inhibition. Male Wistar rats exposed to filtered air (n = 36; control group) or to 600 ppm of gasoline (n = 36) in a nose‐only inhalation exposure chamber for 6 weeks (6 h/day, 5 days/week) received a single oral 10‐mg/kg dose of racemic fluoxetine. Fluoxetine enantiomers in plasma samples were analyzed by a validated analytical method using LC‐MS/MS. The separation of fluoxetine enantiomers was performed in a Chirobiotic V column using as the mobile phase a mixture of ethanol:ammonium acetate 15 mM. Higher plasma concentrations of the (+)‐(S)‐fluoxetine enantiomer were found in the control group (enantiomeric ratio AUC(+)‐(S)/(–)‐(R) = 1.68). In animals exposed to gasoline, we observed an increase in AUC0‐∞ for both enantiomers, with a sharper increase seen for the (–)‐(R)‐fluoxetine enantiomer (enantiomeric ratio AUC(+)‐(S)/(–)‐(R) = 1.07), resulting in a loss of enantioselectivity. Exposure to gasoline was found to result in the loss of enantioselectivity of fluoxetine, with the predominant reduction occurring in the clearance of the (–)‐(R)‐fluoxetine enantiomer (55% vs. 30%). UV, circular dichroism (CD), fluorescence and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) spectra were recorded for a set of four related [2.2.1] bicyclic compounds ((1S,4S)‐and (1R,4R)‐1,7,7‐trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptan‐2‐one, namely (1S)‐ and (1R)‐camphor ( 1 ), (1S,4R)‐4,7,7‐trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]hept‐5‐en‐2‐one, (1S)‐dehydro‐epicamphor ( 2 ), (1S,4S)‐1,7,7‐trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptane‐2,5‐dione, (1S)‐5‐oxocamphor ( 3 ), (1S,4R)‐ and (1R,4S)‐1,7,7‐trimethylbicyclo[2.2.1]heptane‐2,3‐dione, (1S)‐ and (1R)‐camphorquinone ( 4 )) and a set of three related [2.2.2] bicyclic compounds (1S,4S)‐bicyclo[2.2.2]octan‐2,5‐dione (saturated diketone ( 5 )), (1R,4R)‐bicyclo[2.2.2]oct‐7‐en‐2,5‐dione (unsaturated diketone ( 6 )), ((1S,4S)‐bicyclo[2.2.2]oct‐7‐en‐5(S)‐ol‐2‐one (which we refer to as unsaturated hydroxy‐ketone ( 7 )). For the latter three compounds also mid‐IR vibrational circular dichroism (VCD) spectra were recorded and are presented. Time‐Dependent Density Functional (TD‐DFT) calculations provide a satisfactory interpretation of both absorption and emission chiroptical spectra and permit insight into ground and excited state electronic properties. Summary In order to enforce different spatial orientations in the C-terminal hexapeptide of neurotensin (NT8–13) and to gain information about the importance of the 10–11 peptide bond for binding to NT receptors, the Pro10-Tyr11 fragment has been replaced with (2R,8S,8aR)-, (2S,8S,8aR)-, (2S,8S,8aS)-, (2S,8R,8aS)- and (2R,8R,8aS)-8-amino-2-benzyl-3-oxoindolizidine-2-carboxylic acid. Molecular dynamics calculations and energy minimization studies have shown that, contrarily to the Pro-Tyr moiety, none of these indolizidines display a tendency to adopt type I and III -turns, but those having (8S,8aR) or (8R,8aS) stereochemistry essentially adopt extended conformations and the (8S,8aS) stereoisomer prefers a nonstandard folding. The four diastereomeric NT8–13 analogues incorporating (8S,8aR) or (8R,8aS) indolizidines displayed binding affinities for the brain NT receptor similar to that of [Ala11]-NT8–13 and only five- to ninefold lower than that of the corresponding analogue, [Phe11]NT8–13. Although this slight decrease could be attributed to differences in conformational behavior between these constrained NT8–13 analogues and [Phe11]NT8–13 or NT8–13, it is not clear whether the -turn around Pro10-AA11 (AA=Phe, Tyr) is conserved upon receptor binding. An excessive restriction in the motions of the aromatic side chain, imposed by the highly steric constraint of the indolizidine moiety, emerges as an alternative explanation. The findings reported here demonstrate the possibility of replacing the Pro10-Tyr11 dipeptide in NT8–13 with a non-peptide residue without affecting considerably the affinity for brain NT receptors.  相似文献

A series of sequential polypeptides (LysiRj)n (R is Leu, Ser, or Gly) and random copolypeptides, (Lysx, Leuy)n, were synthesized. Their conformation in NaDodSO4 solution was determined by CD. Only (Lys-Leu)n, (Lys-Ser)n, and (Lys3-Ser)n adopt a stable β-form in the surfactant solution; (Lys-Ser2)n, (Lys-Ser3)n, (Lys2-Ser2)n, and (Lys2-Ser)n have an unstable β-form, which reverts to an unordered form in high NaDodSO4 concentrations, even though both Ser and DodSO-bound Lys+ are β-formers. In contrast, (Lys-Gly)n remains unordered in NaDodSO4 solution. On the other hand, Lys-rich (Lys2-Leu)n forms an unstable helix and (Lys2-Leu2)n a stable helix in NaDodSO4 solution. In 25 mM NaDodSO4 (Lysx, Leuy)n also forms a helix up to x = 75 and reverts to the β-form at x = 90. This compares with the helical conformation of (Lysx, Alay)n up to x = 65 and its β-form at x = 90, suggesting that Leu is an even stronger helix-former than Ala. Our results may provide a plausible explanation for the increase in helicity and disruption of the β-form for many proteins in NaDodSO4 solution, that is, the polypeptide chain of a protein usually favors a helical conformation over a β-form in the presence of excess surfactant.  相似文献

In this paper, we have studied the chiroptical properties of a family of o‐oligo(phenyleneethynylene) (o‐OPE) derivatives with different steric hindrance. Experimental results show high dissymmetry factors (gabs and glum up to 1.1 × 10?2) and very similar electronic circular dichroism (ECD) and circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) for all the derivatives that make this basic o‐OPE scaffold a robust pure organic emitter. Vibrational circular dichroism spectra are used to characterize conformational properties in solution. Density functional theory and time‐dependent density functional theory calculations support experimental results also proving that ECD and CPL are almost exclusively linked to helical moiety and not to size or conformation of substituents. As chiroptical properties of these emitters are independent of substituents, this OPE scaffold can be used as basic skeleton for the design of sensing probes with high CPL efficiencies.  相似文献

Manganese(II) complexes [Mn(L)X2] were prepared and characterized, where L is a neutral di-Schiff base ligand incorporating pyridylimine donor arms, including (1R,2R)-N,N′-bis(2-pyridylmethylidene)-1,2-diphenylethylenediimine (L1), (1R,2R)-N,N′-bis(6-methyl-2-pyridylmethylidene)-1,2-cyclohexyldiimine (L2), or (1R,2R)-, (1S,2S)- or racemic N,N′-bis(2-pyridylmethylidene)-1,2-cyclohexyldiimine (L3), and X =  or Cl. Product complexes were structurally characterized, specifically including [Mn(R,R-L1)(NCCH3)3](ClO4)2, [Mn(R,R-L2)(OH2)2](ClO4)2 and racemic [Mn(L3)Cl2]. The first of these complexes features a heptacoordinate ligand field in a distorted pentagonal bipyramid, and the latter two are hexacoordinate, but retain equatorially monovacant pentagonal bipyramidal structures. Complexes [Mn(L3)X2] (X = Cl, ) were reacted with the primary phosphine FcCH2PH2 (Fc = -C5H4FeC5H5), H2O and ethyldiazoacetate (EDA). The first two substrates prompted reactivity at a single ligand imine bond, resulting in hydrophosphination and hydrolysis, respectively. Complexes of the derivative ligands were also structurally characterized. Evidence for EDA activation was obtained by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry, but catalytic carbene transfer was not obtained.  相似文献

Arachidonate 5-lipoxygenase purified from porcine leukocytes transformed arachidonic acid to 5-hydroperoxy-6,8,11,14-eicosatetraenoic acid. By the leukotriene A synthase activity of the same enzyme the product was further metabolized to leukotriene A4 (actually detected as 6-trans-leukotriene B4, 12-epi-6-trans-leukotriene B4, abd 5,6-duhydroxy-7,9,11,14-eicosatetraenoic acids). The enzyme was incubated with [10-DR-3H]- or [10-LS-3H]- labeled arachidonic acid, and 6-trans-LTB4 and its 12-epimer were analyzed. More than 90% of 10-DR-hydrogen was lost while about 100% of 10-LS-hydrogen was retained, indicating a stereospecific hydrogen elimination from C-10 during the formation of leukotriene A4.  相似文献

New neprilysin inhibitors containing an α-mercaptoketone HSC(R1R2)CO group, as zinc ligand were designed. Two parameters were explored for potency optimization: the size of the inhibitor which could interact with the S1, S1′ or S2′ domain of the enzyme and the nature of the substituents R1, R2 of the mercaptoketone group. Introduction of a cyclohexyl chain in R1, R2 position and a (3-thiophen)benzyl group in position R3 (compound 12n) yielded to the most potent inhibitor of this series with a Ki value of 2 ± 0.3 nM. This result suggests that this new inhibitor interacts within the S1, S1′ domain of NEP allowing a pentacoordination of the catalytic Zn2+ ion by the mercaptoketone moiety.  相似文献

Phthalides and their precursors have demonstrated a large variety of biological activities. Eighteen phthalides were synthesized and tested on the stored grain pest Rhyzopertha dominica. In the screening bioassay, compounds rac‐(2R,2aS,4R,4aS,6aR,6bS,7R)‐7‐bromohexahydro‐2,4‐methano‐1,6‐dioxacyclopenta[cd]pentalen‐5(2H)‐one ( 15 ) and rac‐(3R,3aR,4R,7S,7aS)‐3‐(propan‐2‐yloxy)hexahydro‐4,7‐methano‐2‐benzofuran‐1(3H)‐one ( 17 ) showed mortality similar to the commercial insecticide, Bifenthrin® (≥90 %). The time (LT50) and dose (LD50) necessary to kill 50 % of the R. dominica population were determined for the most efficacious phthalides 15 and 17 . Compound 15 presented the lowest LD50 (1.97 μg g?1), being four times more toxic than Bifenthrin® (LD50=9.11 μg g?1). Both compounds presented an LT50 value equal to 24 h. When applied at a sublethal dose, both phthalides (especially compound 15 ), reduced the emergence of the first progeny of R. dominica. These findings highlight the potential of phthalides 15 and 17 as precursors for the development of insecticides for R. dominica control.  相似文献

We analyzed 17 months (August 2005 to December 2006) of continuous measurements of soil CO2 efflux or soil respiration (RS) in an 18‐year‐old west‐coast temperate Douglas‐fir stand that experienced somewhat greater than normal summertime water deficit. For soil water content at the 4 cm depth (θ) > 0.11 m3 m?3 (corresponding to a soil water matric potential of ?2 MPa), RS was positively correlated to soil temperature at the 2 cm depth (TS). Below this value of θ, however, RS was largely decoupled from TS, and evapotranspiration, ecosystem respiration and gross primary productivity (GPP) began to decrease, dropping to about half of their maximum values when θ reached 0.07 m3 m?3. Soil water deficit substantially reduced RS sensitivity to temperature resulting in a Q10 significantly < 2. The absolute temperature sensitivity of RS (i.e. dRS/dTS) increased with θ up to 0.15 m3 m?3, above which it slowly declined. The value of dRS/dTS was nearly 0 for θ < 0.08 m3 m?3, thereby confirming that RS was largely unaffected by temperature under soil water stress conditions. Despite the possible effects of seasonality of photosynthesis, root activity and litterfall on RS, the observed decrease in its temperature sensitivity at low θ was consistent with the reduction in substrate availability due to a decrease in (a) microbial mobility, and diffusion of substrates and extracellular enzymes, and (b) the fraction of substrate that can react at high TS, which is associated with low θ. We found that an exponential (van't Hoff type) model with Q10 and R10 dependent on only θ explained 92% of the variance in half‐hourly values of RS, including the period with soil water stress conditions. We hypothesize that relating Q10 and R10 to θ not only accounted for the effects of TS on RS and its temperature sensitivity but also accounted for the seasonality of biotic (photosynthesis, root activity, and litterfall) and abiotic (soil moisture and temperature) controls and their interactions.  相似文献

This study provides the first measurements of the standard respiration rate (RS) and growth dynamics of European sardine Sardina pilchardus larvae reared in the laboratory. At 15° C, the relationship between RS (µl O2 individual?1 h?1) and larval dry mass (MD, µg) was equal to: RS = 0·0057(±0·0007, ± s.e.)·MD0·8835(±0·0268), (8–11% MD day?1). Interindividual differences in RS were not related to interindividual differences in growth rate or somatic (Fulton's condition factor) or biochemical‐based condition (RNA:DNA).  相似文献

Abstract: [(2S,2′R,3′R)-2-(2′,3′-[3H]Dicarboxycyclopropyl)glycine ([3H]DCG IV) binding was characterized in vitro in rat brain cortex homogenates and rat brain sections. In cortex homogenates, the binding was saturable and the saturation isotherm indicated the presence of a single binding site with a KD value of 180 ± 33 nM and a Bmax of 780 ± 70 fmol/mg of protein. The nonspecific binding, measured using 100 µM LY354740, was <30%. NMDA, AMPA, kainate, l (?)-threo-3-hydroxyaspartic acid, and (S)-3,5-dihydroxyphenylglycine were all inactive in [3H]DCG IV binding up to 1 mM. However, several compounds inhibited [3H]DCG IV binding in a concentration-dependent manner with the following rank order of potency: LY341495 = LY354740 > DCG IV = (2S,1′S,2′S)-2-(2-carboxycyclopropyl)glycine > (1S,3R)-1-aminocyclopentane-1,3-dicarboxylic acid > (2S,1′S,2′S)-2-methyl-2-(2-carboxycyclopropyl)glycine > l -glutamate = ibotenate > quisqualate > (RS)-α-methyl-4-phosphonophenylglycine = l (+)-2-amino-3-phosphonopropionic acid > (S)-α-methyl-4-carboxyphenylglycine > (2S)-α-ethylglutamic acid > l (+)-2-amino-4-phosphonobutyric acid. N-Acetyl-l -aspartyl-l -glutamic acid inhibited the binding in a biphasic manner with an IC50 of 0.2 µM for the high-affinity component. The binding was also affected by GTPγS, reducing agents, and CdCl2. In parasagittal sections of rat brain, a high density of specific binding was observed in the accessory olfactory bulb, cortical regions (layers 1, 3, and 4 > 2, 5, and 6), caudate putamen, molecular layers of the hippocampus and dentate gyrus, subiculum, presubiculum, retrosplenial cortex, anteroventral thalamic nuclei, and cerebellar granular layer, reflecting its preferential (perhaps not exclusive) affinity for pre- and postsynaptic metabotropic glutamate mGlu2 receptors. Thus, the pharmacology, tissue distribution, and sensitivity to GTPγS show that [3H]DCG IV binding is probably to group II metabotropic glutamate receptors in rat brain.  相似文献

To investigate annual variation in soil respiration (R S) and its components [autotrophic (R A) and heterotrophic (R H)] in relation to seasonal changes in soil temperature (ST) and soil water content (SWC) in an Abies holophylla stand (stand A) and a Quercus-dominated stand (stand Q), we set up trenched plots and measured R S, ST and SWC for 2 years. The mean annual rate of R S was 436 mg CO2 m−2 h−1, ranging from 76 to 1,170 mg CO2 m−2 h−1, in stand A and 376 mg CO2 m−2 h−1, ranging from 82 to 1,133 mg CO2 m−2 h−1, in stand Q. A significant relationship between R S and its components and ST was observed over the 2 years in both stands, whereas a significant correlation between R A and SWC was detected only in stand Q. On average over the 2 years, R A accounted for approximately 34% (range 17–67%) and 31% (15–82%) of the variation in R S in stands A and Q, respectively. Our results suggested that vegetation type did not significantly affect the annual mean contributions of R A or R H, but did affect the pattern of seasonal change in the contribution of R A to R S.  相似文献

Two new sterols 1 and 2 and five known ones 3 – 7 were isolated for the first time from the fruiting bodies of Cortinarius glaucopus. Their structures were established by 1‐ and 2D‐NMR spectra and HR‐FABS‐MS. The relative configuration of 1 was firmly determined by comparison of the observed 1H–1H couplings and NOESY correlations, with those predicted for the computed geometries of the conformers. Calculations were performed by means of DFT with the B3LYP functional at 6‐31 + G(d,p) level of theory, in CHCl3 as the solvent. The structures of the new ergosterol derivatives, called glaucoposterol A ( 1 ) and B ( 2 ), were thus established as (3S,5R,7R,10R,13R,17R,20S,22R,23R,24R)‐5,6‐epoxy‐3,7,23‐trihydroxystrophast‐8‐en‐14‐one and (22E,3S,5S,9S,10R,13R,17R,20R,24R)‐3,5‐dihydroxyergosta‐6,8(14),22‐trien‐15‐one, respectively. Moreover, the configuration of known strophasterol C ( 3 ) was determined as (3S,5R,6S,7R,10R,13R,17R,20S,22S,24R). Glaucoposterol A ( 1 ) and strophasterol C ( 3 ) represent the second finding in nature of steroids with the rare strophastane skeleton.  相似文献

Dependency of specific leaf area (SLA) on shoot diameter (x) was studied forCryptomeria japonica foliage shoot segments about 5 cm in length taken from 18 branches at different height levels on 3 trees in August 1987. The leaf area of a shoot segment (S) was defined as half the sum of the needle area (s) estimated by the allometric relationship betweens and needle length. The dry weight of woody tissue (W w) and needles (W n) of a segment and itsS were divided by the segment length (L) to give linear densities asW w/L,W n/L andS/L, respectively. The densities were related tox by power-form equations.S/L values tended to be constant around 1.2 [cm2 cm−1] within the discussed range ofx, whileW w/L andW n/L values clearly increased withx. The approximately reciprocal relationship between average needle area (s) and linear density of the number of needles supported the fact thatS/L values were roughly constant regardless ofx.SLA andSNA were defined asS/(W w+W n) andS/W n, respectively. TheSLA-x relationship expected from the average value ofS/L and theW w/L-x and theW n/L-x relationships was well fitted to the observed decrease inSLA with increasingx. SNA also decreased asx increased. Variations inSLA andSNA among the shoot segments with similarx were not systematically related to their height levels. An empirical equation with a maximum value ofx (Xmax) was also proposed in order to formulate theSLA-x relationship.  相似文献

The epimeric diterpenes (+)‐(1S,3E,7E,11S,12S)‐verticilla‐3,7‐dien‐12‐ol ( 1 ), isolated from Bursera suntui, and (+)‐(1S,3E,7E,11S,12R)‐verticilla‐3,7‐dien‐12‐ol ( 2 ), isolated from Bursera kerberi, gave the same Wagner‐Meerwein rearrangement product (?)‐(1E,4Z,8Z,11S,12R)‐phomacta‐1,(15)4,8‐triene ( 3 ). The Et2O:BF3‐induced transformations evidence that verticillenes and phomactanes, both containing the bicyclo[9.3.1]pentadecane skeleton, are biogenetically related through the verticillen‐12‐yl cation ( A + ), which also is a key intermediate in the biosynthetic pathways to generate antitumor taxanes. Molecular modeling using the Monte Carlo protocol, followed by density functional theory (DFT) geometry optimization employing the hybrid functionals B3LYP and B3PW91, both with the DGDZVP basis set, secured the configuration of 3 as followed from the good agreement between the calculated and experimental vibrational circular dichroism spectra. Similar DFT calculations allowed determining the absolute configuration of (+)‐(1R,4R,5R,8S,9S,11S,12R,15R)‐1,15:4,5:8,9‐triepoxyphomactane ( 9 ), which surprisingly derives from epoxidation of the second minimum energy conformer of 3 .  相似文献

The absolute stereochemistry of fatty acid (FA) desaturation in Bombyx mori and Manduca sexta female pheromone glands (PGs), catalysed by FA-CoA Δ11-(Z)-desaturases, was determined using chiral, specifically labelled palmitic acids {[2,2,3,4,5,5,6,6,7,8,9,9,11,12−2H14]–(11R,12S)−1 and [2,2,3,4,5,5,6,6,7,8,9,9,11,12−2H14]–(11S,12R)−1)} as metabolic probes. The (11R,12S)−1 acid was converted in PGs of treated virgin females to labelled methyl (11Z)-hexadecenoate ([2H14]−2, Mw=282 Da). In incubations with the opposite enantiomer two deuterium atoms from (11S,12R)−1 were removed, yielding [2H12]−2 of Mw=280 Da. These results were confirmed by methylthiolation of [2H14]−2 and [2H12]−2 with a dimethyl disulfide/iodine mixture. Mass spectra of the DMDS adducts directly showed the distribution of deuterium atoms in the labelled methyl esters of 2. The data consistently indicate, that the studied insects possess Δ11-(Z)-desaturases with pro-(R) C(11)-H and pro-(R) C(12)-H stereospecificity, catalysing a syn-elimination of two hydrogen atoms.  相似文献

Compounds based on the pyrroloquinoxaline system can interact with serotonin 5‐HT3, cannabinoid CB1, and μ‐opioid receptors. Herein, a chiral pool synthesis of diastereomerically and enantiomerically pure bromolactam (S,R,R,R)‐ 14A is presented. Introduction of the cyclohexenyl ring at the N‐atom of (S)‐proline derivatives 8 or methyl (S)‐pyroglutamate ( 12 ) led to the N‐cyclohexenyl substituted pyrrolidine derivatives 4 and 13 , respectively. All attempts to cyclize the (S)‐proline derivatives 4 with a basic pyrrolidine N‐atom via [3 + 2] cycloaddition, aziridination, or bromolactamization failed. Fast aromatization occurred during treatment of cyclohexenamines under halolactamization conditions. In contrast, reaction of a 1:1 mixture of diastereomeric pyroglutamates (S,R)‐ 13bA and (S,S)‐ 13bB with LiOtBu and NBS provided the tricyclic bromolactam (S,R,R,R)‐ 14A with high diastereoselectivity from (S,R)‐ 13bA , but did not transform the diastereomer (S,S)‐ 13bB . The different behavior of the diastereomeric pyroglutamates (S,R)‐ 13bA and (S,S)‐ 13bB is explained by different energetically favored conformations.
