Résumé Dans 4 familles où se trouvait un malade atteint de poliomyélite on a examiné les sérums de la phase aiguë et de la phase de convalescence des malades et des autres membres de famille pour chercher la présence d'anticorps neutralisant trois souches du virus poliomyélitique (Lansing, SK et MM) et le virus de la chorioméningite lymphocytaire. Dans deux familles au moins, les recherches indiquent que les anticorps contre la souche Lansing ne se forment que comme conséquence spécifique d'une infection, éventuellement asymptomatique, par un virus poliomyélitique d'une structure antigène apparentée à celle de la souche Lansing. Dans une famille le sérum de la phase aiguë d'un malade et le sérum de sa mère, contenaient des anticorps tandis que le sérum de son père et d'une soeur ne neutralisait pas la souche Lansing. Dix semaines après, les sérums du père et de la soeur avaient obtenu un pouvoir neutralisant contre cette souche, bien que ni l'un ni l'autre n'aient été malades. Ceci pourrait indiquer la possibilité d'une infection par contact direct dans la famille.  相似文献

Résumé Le virus de la densonucléose est thermorésistant. Il n'est pas inactivé après traitement avec des solvants de lipides. Aucun pouvoir hémagglutinant n'a été mis en évidence avec des érythrocytes d'espèces variées. Ces propriétés sont comparées à celles desParvovirus.
Summary The densonucleosis virus is thermoresistant. It is not inactivated after treatment with lipid solvents. Attempts to demonstrate hemagglutination of DNV, using different erythrocytes, were unsuccessful. These properties are compared to those of Parvoviruses.

European and US drug regulatory authorities have recently warned against the use of selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) in childhood and adolescent depression. Through an extensive literature review on the use of SSRIs to treat depression in children and adolescents — including psychiatric clinical trials, pharmacology, and drug safety data — we will: i) describe the main arguments justifying various regulatory decisions; ii) present published data and subsequent meta-analyses; iii) discuss how to integrate the recommendations into daily clinical practice, freeing professionals from a Manichean approach. We reach the limits of evidence-based medicine, which provide the basis of the scientific work of the regulatory authorities.  相似文献

Sterility is a potential toxic effect of chemotherapy. This risk is well established for alkylating agents, but is less clearly defined for anthracyclines, methotrexate and fluorouracil and poorly defined for alkaloids, platinum, etoposide and taxanes. The main predictive factors for ovarian toxicity are the additive effect of cytotoxic drugs, the cumulative dose of each drug and the patient’s age. This effect of chemotherapy is evaluated on menstrual cycles, hormonal assays and the number of pregnancies observed in patient cohorts. Chemotherapy induces destruction of oocytes and granulosa cells. In mice, it has been shown that adriamycin may induce oocyte apoptosis, which can be prevented by modulation of cycle cell signalling (dysregulation of Bax gene or, on the contrary, expression of its antagonist gene Bcl-2 or inhibition of apoptosis with sphingosine-1-phosphate or caspase inhibitors). Clinical data in the literature are usually based on retrospective studies and are somewhat confused: global fertility after MOPP chemotherapy for Hodgkin’s disease is about 20%, adjuvant chemotherapy with CMF, F(A)C or TAC for breast cancer induces amenorrhea in 50% to 70% of cases, PVB or BEP chemotherapy for ovarian germ cell tumors has little effect on fertility when the uterus and one ovary can be preserved, and the majority of women treated with methotrexate, actinomycin D or various combinations for persistent trophoblastic disease remain fertile. Preservation of fertility is a major goal for cancer patients receiving chemotherapy: in vitro fertilization could preserve the couple’s fertility, but is usually not feasible as it would delay initiation of chemotherapy until after stimulation of ovulation; oocyte or ovarian tissue cryopreservation is at the stage of research; oral contraceptives have not been demonstrated to be effective to preserve ovarian function; gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists prevent cyclophosphamide toxicity in rat and monkey ovaries, and a few pilot clinical studies suggest that chemotherapy-induced amenorrhea could be prevented by administration of GnRH analogues simultaneously to chemotherapy, but randomised studies are necessary.  相似文献

Summary The archipelago opposite Senj (Croatian Coast) is very exposed to the Bora hurricanes accompanied by air dryness, salt spray, and periodic coast icing. Therefore the xerohalophytic flora of this area is very interesting. Four new taxa from there are described:Astragalus glacialis n. spec. subsp.glacialis s. s. and subsp.uraganicus n. subsp.,Allium horvatii n. spec., andPinus nigra Arn. subsp.croatica n. subsp., a stenoendemic relict near extinction on the isle of Prvi.  相似文献

Ultrasonography (US) is presently routine part of the investigation of infertile men with low volume ejaculate. It provides excellent depiction of the congenital or acquired obstructive lesions of the reproductive system, particulary in its distal part. For 10 years, we performed a US examination of the kidneys, the scrotum contents and transrectal US (TRUS) in every case a excretory cause of male hypofertility could be suspected. In selected patients, MR imaging (with endorectal coil) appears usefull. We describe the normal and abnormal anatomy of the epididymis, vas deferens, seminal vesicle (SV) and ejaculatory ducts in male infertility with US and MRI. Dilatation of the small ducts in the epididymis and sometimes in the testis at scrotal US is suggestive of a downstream obstacle. Sometimes these dilatation could appear as small hypoechoic areas in the epididymis. In contrast, post-inflammatory changes are hyperechoic but often associated with dilatations. TRUS permits to confirm the absence of the vas deferens in congenital bilateral absence of vas deferens (CBAVD): it shows the absence of the ampullae and severe abnormalities of the SV. In case of unilateral absence of the vas deferens, the association with a homolateral kidney agenesis does not lead to the screening for mutations in the cystic fibrosis gene, but suggests a wolffian duct abnormality. MRI (with endorectal coil) is indicated when TRUS is unconclusive. Scrotal US permits to guide semen aspiration and TRUS is indicated to eliminate a distal obstruction when a surgical anastomosis is planed. TRUS (as well as scrotal US) can suggest an obstacle when dilatation of one or several segments of the seminal tract is observed. Sometimes the cause is obvious with imaging: CBAVD, prostatic cyst, inflammatory and post-infectious changes, lithiasis etc. However, it remains many cases where US is only one component of the therapeutic decision, besides clinical examination, sperm count, FSH level and biochemical sperm markers.  相似文献

Résumé Au microscope électronique, l'action de la méthyltestostérone sur les cellules rénales de l'Epinoche femelle se traduit par une cytodifférenciation conduisant à la formation de cellules glandulaires muqueuses. Elle a lieu simultanément à deux niveaux distincts:Au niveau du tubule proximal, le premier signe visible de cytodifférenciation est une activation du nucléole, accompagnée par une augmentation de taille des cellules. Puis on assiste à un développement de l'ergastoplasme et de l'appareil de Golgi et à l'élaboration de deux types de sécrétions: d'abord des granules de 2000–2500 Å, ensuite des grains de mucigène typiques, qui subissent rapidement une transformation muqueuse.Une cytodifférenciation régressive intervient en même temps. Elle concerne la pinocytose apicale qui disparaît.Au niveau des tubules collecteurs, la cytodifférenciation se traduit par la formation d'un mucus hyalin d'origine golgienne. Elle s'accompagne également d'une disparition de la pinocytose.La méthyltestostérone est capable de provoquer, chez la femelle, une cytodifférenciation rénale identique à celle que l'on observe chez le mâle pendant la période de reproduction. La transformation muqueuse des cellules rénales est donc sous le contrôle de la seule testostérone, qui déclenche au niveau cellulaire un ensemble de processus conduisant à la formation de mucus.Au microscope électronique, on constate que l'élaboration de mucus prêt à l'excrétion est achevée au bout de trois jours dans les tubules proximaux alors que dans les tubules collecteurs elle ne demande que 24 heures.
Action of methyl testosterone on the cytodifferentiation of the kidney of the female three-spined Stickleback
Summary At the microscopic level, the action of methyl testosterone on the cells of the kidney of the female three-spined Stickleback gives raise to a cytodifferentiation which leads to the formation of mucous glandular cells. This action is evident at two different levels:At the level of the proximal tubule, the first visible sign of cytodifferentiation is an activation of the nucleolus, accompanied by a growth of the cell size. Then a rapid development of the ergastoplasm and the Golgi apparatus takes place, which leads to the elaboration of two types of secretory particles: granules of 2000–2500 Å in diameter appear first, then typical mucigen granules become visible. These latter undergo a rapid mucous transformation.A regressive cytodifferentiation occurs at the same time. It concerns the apical pinocytosis which disappears in the cells undergoing the glandular differentiation.At the level of the collecting tubules, the cytodifferentiation is characterized by the elaboration of a clear mucus which originates in the Golgi apparatus and migrates to the apex of the cells. A disappearance of the pinocytosis is also noticeable.In the kidney of the female, methyl testosterone induces a cytodifferentiation which is identical to that occuring in the male during the breeding period. So the mucous transformation of renal cells is under the control of a single hormone: the testosterone, which is able to give raise to a succession of phenomena leading to the formation of a mucous secretion.With the electron microscope, it is possible to demonstrate that three days are necessary for the elaboration of the mucus ready to be discharged in the lumen of the renal proximal tubules. In the collecting tubules, the reaction occurs more quickly, after only two days of treatment.

Summary The activities of (±)-abscisic acid and a number of compounds derived from p-coumaric acid and coumarin and their interaction with gibberellic acid in the control of the elongation of the first wheat leaf are examined. (±)-Abscisic acid strongly inhibits leaf growth in the presence as well as in the absence of gibberellic acid, but the inhibition is greater in the presence of gibberellic acid (3 g/l already have an observable effect). Among other compounds, only ferulic acid and coumarin significantly reduce leaf elongation, and they are effective only at high concentrations (1.44 · 10-4 M/l).  相似文献

Résumé Le présent travail expose quelles sont les réactions de la cellule végétale lorsque cette dernière est soumise à l'association d'un toxique et d'un « mouillant » (Netzmittel).Les variables sont: la nature de la cellule végétale, celle du toxique et celle du mouillant.Alors que les mouillants cationiques, eux-mêmes toxiques, exercent une simple action additive, les mouillants anioniques révèlent dans de nombreux cas une synergie de toxicité. Celle-ci se manifeste surtout avec les champignons et les bactéries Gram+, les végétaux supérieurs se montrant indifférents. Cette synergie varie également avec la structure moléculaire du mouillant.Les mouillants non ioniques peuvent au contraire exercer une action antagoniste, c'est-à-dire diminuer la toxicité.Ce dernier phénomène se produit dans certains cas à la suite d'une réaction chimique entre le mouillant et le toxique; la nature de la cellule est alors indifférente. Dans d'autres cas, il y a absence de réaction chimique et le phénomène ne se produit qu'avec certains types de cellules (champignons surtout).La nature chimique du toxique joue, dans la synergie, un rôle moins important que dans l'antagonisme.Des hypothèses sont formulées pour tenter d'élucider le mécanisme des cas de synergie et d'antagonisme.  相似文献

Two computation methods are explained; theirobject is the estimation of the velocity of animals which are known by their footprints, and in the case of the first method, by their skeletons as well.The first method is based on the compound pendulum theory, because during the slow walking gait, the motion of the leg is similar to the oscillation of a pendulum, for the computation of the velocity (v), are considered: moment of inertia (I), radius of gyration (P) and period (T), time in seconds to cover one stride (E) in the case the maximum angle of divarication (δ) of the leg with the vertical is ≤20°. A comparison with the formula of Alexander (1976) is discussed.The second method concerns saltator animals. It is based on the fondamental laws of dynamics. With the length of the jump (E) it is possible to estimate the velocity of the trackmaker (v) and the height of the jump (K). For the vertebrates the angle of the trajectory with the horizontal plan (α) is between 20 and 45°. Thus, the result of this method is an interval of estimation in which the velocity is included.These methods do not give precise results. But these approximations supply valid informations on the velocity of extinct or living animals and can lead to the estimation of their maximum speed if the parameters E, T, vary. The problem of the errors is also discussed. It is shown that the errors in estimating the parameters have a no significant influence on the results.  相似文献

The cytokinin activities of various 6-acylaminopurines, 6-alkylaminopurines, 6-acylamino-9-benzyl-purines as well as a series of isosteric-nitrogen derivatives of N6-(γ, γ-dimethylallyl)adenine (I6Ade) have been tested using the tobacco pith and the pea bud bioassays. The interactions between active, slightly active and inactive compounds have been studied with the last assay. Acylation decreases the biological activity; e.g., N6-benzoyl and N6-furoyladenines are less active than Na6-benzyladenine and kinetin. Substitution at the 9-position reduces (tobacco-pith assay) or suppresses (pea-bud assay) the phytohormonal activity of otherwise active 6-acylaminopurines. In isosteric derivatives, maximum activity occurs when the side chain has the same length as in 16Ade. After the analysis of interactions between more or less active compounds, it is suggested that the differences in cytokinin activity could be related to unequal affinities for a hypothetical receptor site.  相似文献

Jusqu’ au milieu des années 80, la seule stratégie de dépistage consistait à proposer une amniocentèse aux femmes agées de 38 ans et plus. Puis, les progrès liés au développement de l’échographie ont permis de révéler des malformations fœtales, ce qui a ouvert la voie au dépistage des anomalies chromosomiques chez les femmes plus jeunes. Enfin, la mise en évidence de marqueurs biochimiques dans le sérum maternel au 2ème trimestre de la grossesse a conduit à une extension du dépistage de la trisomie 21 à toutes les femees enceintes quel que soit leur age, que le fœtus présente ou non des malformations visibles à l’échographie.  相似文献
