Six new species of the genus Dicranosepsis Duda (Diptera, Sepsidae) from Vietnam, with a revised key to the species

The flies of the genus Dicranosepsis from Vietnam were investigated and classified taxonomically. Six new species (D. longa sp. nov., D. kurahashii sp. nov., D. monoseta sp. nov., D. sinuosa sp. nov., D. barbata sp. nov., and D. vietnamensis sp. nov.) are described and illustrated. Dicranosepsis is redefined and a revised key to the species is also provided.     

THREE NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS DIOSTRACUS FROM SOUTHWEST CHINA (DIPTERA: DOLICHOPODIDAE)*

Abstract Three new species of the genus Diostracus are described from Southwest China, namely D. albuginosus sp. nov., D. lamellatus sp. nov. and D. dicercaeus sp. nov. The type specimens are deposited in the author's collection.     

A STUDY OF CRYPTOLECHIA ZELLER (LEPIDOPTERA: OECOPHORIDAE) IN CHINA (I), WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF FIFTEEN NEW SPECIES

The present paper reports thirty‐three species of the genus Cryptolechia in China. Fifteen species are described as new to science: C. deflecta sp. nov., C. kangxianensis sp. nov., C. microbyrsa sp. nov., C. falsivespertina sp. nov., C. zhengi sp. nov., C. neargometra sp. nov., C. paranthaedeaga sp. nov., C. cornutivalvata sp. nov., C. fascirupta sp. nov., C. stictifascia sp. nov., C. jigongshanica sp. nov., C. mirabilis sp. nov., C. anthaedeaga sp. nov., C. gei sp. nov. and C. varifascirupta sp. nov. The genital structures of the new species are illustrated.     

STUDIES ON THE CHINESE COLEOPHORIDAE (LEPIDOPTERA): COLEOPHORA SALICORNIAE GROUP WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF TWELVE NEW SPECIES*

Abstract This paper deals with twenty-nine species of Coleophora salicorniae group of Coleophoridae. Among them, twelve species (Coleophora lativalva sp. nov., C. ossaedeaga sp. nov., C. pendulivalvula sp. nov., C. novisqualorella sp. nov., C. capitargentella sp. nov., C. curvidentatella sp. nov., C. dorsiproducta sp. nov., C. harbinensis sp. nov., C. xinjiangensis sp. nov…C. cuprea sp. nov., C. pallidiptera sp. nov. and C. resupina sp. nov.) are described as new to science and fifteen species are newly recorded from China. Carpochena halostachyos Falkovitsh is proposed as a synonym of Coleophora plicipunctella Chrètien. Genitalia of new species are illustrated and females of Coleophora armeniae Baldizzone et Patzak, C. carchara Falkovitsh and C. sequens Falkovitsh are described for the first time. A key to Chinese species of Coleophora salicorniae group is given.     

TWO NEW GENERA,FIVE NEW SPECIES AND ONE NEW SUBSPECIES OF FORDINAE (HOMOPTERA: PEMPHIGIDAE) FROM CHINA*

Abstract The present paper describes 2 new genera, viz_:Dimelaphis Zhang, gen. nov and Siciforda Zhang, gen. nov, 5 new species viz: Chaetogeoica ulmidrupa Zhang sp. nov, D. obtusifalcata Zhang, sp. nov., Forda auralenta Zhang et Qiao, sp. nov., F. multicoma Zhang, sp. nov. and S. sexiarticulata Zhang, sp.nov. and 1 new subspecies Paracletus cimiciformis zhanhuanus Zhang, ssp. nov. from China. All type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.     

Taxonomic and faunistic studies of the Sepsidae (Diptera) from Vietnam,with descriptions of six new species

A total of 52 species belonging to nine genera of the Sepsidae are reported from Vietnam. Of these, six species (Dicranosepsis splendifica sp. nov., D. trochanteris sp. nov., Mucha rectotibialis sp. nov., Perochaeta exilis sp. nov., Sepsis nigriminima sp. nov. and S. silvicola sp. nov.) are described as new to science. Eighteen species are newly recorded from Vietnam. Toxopoda pseudoviduata Ozerov, 2010 is synonymized with T. cavata Iwasa, 2008. The faunal composition of Vietnamese Sepsidae is divided into six groups based on distributional data and discussed. A key to the species of Vietnamese Sepsidae is also provided.     

TAXONOMICAL STUDIES ON ARGIDAE (HYMENOPTERA) OF CHINA— A NEW GENUS AND FIVE NEW SPECIES OF STERIC-TIPHORINAE*

Abstract A key is given for the known Palaearctic and Oriental genera of the family Argidae including a new genus from China. Ortasiceros gen. nov. with five new species, O. nigriceps sp. nov., O. zhengi sp. nov., O. breoicornis sp. nov., O. curvata sp. nov. and O. elevata sp. nov. are described and figured. A new tribe, Ortasicerini trib. nov., is erected for the new genus and Copidocerus Forsius 1921. The type specimens are deposited in the Insect Collection of Central South Forestry University, Zhuzhou, China.     

A TAXONOMIC STUDY OF THE GENUS XYSTOPHORA (LEPIDOPTERA:GELECHIIDAE) FROM CHINA*

Abstract The present paper deals with species of the genus Xystophora Wocke from China. Four species are described as new to science: Xystophora ingentidentalis sp. nov., Xystophora chengchengensis sp. nov., Xystophora paroisaccula sp. nov. and Xystophora novipsammitella sp. nov. Xystophora carchariella (Zeller) is reported for the first time from China. The genitalia figures of the new species and key to all the known Chinese species are provided.     

A STUDY ON CHINESE SPECIES OF AULOGYMNUS FORSTER (HYMENOPTERA: EULOPHIDAE)*

Abstract This paper treats Chinese species of Aulogymnus Förster which is newly recorded from China. Four new species, A. elevatus sp. nov., A. hyalopterus sp. nov., A. insculptus sp. nov., and A. longicalcar sp. nov. are described. All type specimens are deposited in the Zoological Museum, Institute of Zoology. Chinese Academy of Sciences.     

中国贵州长腹寄蝇属三新种记述（双翅目：寄蝇科）

记述采自贵州地区的长腹寄蝇属Dolichocoxys Townsend 3个新种:黄基长腹寄蝇D. flavibasis sp. nov.、黑腹长腹寄蝇D. obscurus sp. nov.和短柄长腹寄蝇D. brevis sp. nov.。文中附所有新种的详细描述、鉴别特征图、近缘关系的讨论及中国长腹寄蝇属分种检索表。新种的模式标本保存于贵州省安顺市疾病预防控制中心医学昆虫研究室。     

NINE NEW SPECIES OF PEMPHIGINAE (HOMOPTERA:PEMPHIGI-DAE) FROM CHINA*

Abstract The present paper describes 9 new species of Pemphiginae from China, vizr Mimeuria graminiradicis Zhang sp. nov., Pachypappa, aigkros Zhang sp, nov., P. tortuosae Zhang sp. nov., Pachypapella diquiplla Zhang sp. nov., Pemphigus turritus Zhang sp. nov., P. wuduenris Zhang sp. nov., Prociphilus aurus Zhang et Qiao sp. nov., P. emeiensis Zhang, sp. nov. and P. trinus Zhang sp. nov. All type specimens are deposited in the Institute of Zoology, Academia Sinica.     

A TAXONOMIC STUDY ON ASAPHES (HYMENOPTERA: PTEROMALIDAE) FROM CHINA,WITH DESCRIPTIONS OF FOUR NEW SPECIES*

Abstract This paper deals with six species of the pteromalid genus Asaphes from China, including four new species: Asaphes umbilicalis sp. nov., Asaphes globularis sp. nov., Asaphes siciformis sp. nov., and Asaphes oculi sp. nov. A key to the species based on the females is provided. The type specimens are deposited in the Zoological Museum, Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences, China.     

FIVE NEW SPECIES OF THE GENUS LEPTUS LATREILLE FROM MT. HUPINGSHAN OF HUNAN CHINA* (ACARI: ERYTHRAEIDAE)

Abstract This paper reports five new larval mite species belonging to the genus Leptus Latreille 1796, that is, L. hupingshunicus sp. nov., L. shimenensis sp. nov., L. brachypodos sp. nov., L. dolichopodos sp. nov., and L. sulciscutus sp. nov. All species were collected by using the Malaise Trap from Mt. Hupingshan, Shimen County, Hunan Province, China.     

Taxonomic review of Hemistola Warren, 1893 from China,with descriptions of seven new species (Lepidoptera: Geometridae,Geometrinae)

The genus Hemistola Warren from China is reviewed, and seven new species are described: H. viridimargo, sp. nov., H. glauca sp. nov., H. asymmetra sp. nov., H. arcilinea sp. nov., H. flavifimbria sp. nov., H. orbiculosoides sp. nov. and H. stueningi sp. nov. Two species, acyra and christinaria, are transferred from Hemistola to Maxates and Comostola, respectively: Maxates acyra comb. nov. and Comostola christinaria comb. nov. Including the 25 species previously known from China, a total of 32 species is now recorded. All Chinese species are redescribed. Generic characters based on all species are summarized. Illustrations of adults and genitalia are presented.     

STUDIES ON THE GENUS METALLUS FORBES OF CHINA (HYMENOPTERA:TENTHREDINIDAE)*

Abstract The genus Metallus Forbes from China is revised. Four new species are described in this paper: Metallus nigritarsus sp. nov., M. minutus sp. nov., M. bui sp. nov. and M. jingfanus sp. nov. The male of Metallus mai Wei and the female of Metallus wangi Wei are described for the first time.     

SHARKS OF THE ORDER CARCHARHINIFORMES FROM THE BRITISH CONIACIAN, SANTONIAN AND CAMPANIAN (UPPER CRETACEOUS)

Abstract: Bulk sampling of phosphate‐rich horizons within the British Coniacian to Campanian (Upper Cretaceous) yielded very large samples of shark and ray teeth. All of these samples yielded teeth of diverse members of the Carcharhiniformes, which commonly dominate the fauna. The following species are recorded and described: Pseudoscyliorhinus reussi ( Herman, 1977 ) comb. nov., Crassescyliorhinus germanicus ( Herman, 1982 ) gen. nov., Scyliorhinus elongatus ( Davis, 1887 ), Scyliorhinus brumarivulensis sp. nov., ?Palaeoscyllium sp., Prohaploblepharus riegrafi ( Müller, 1989 ) gen. nov., ?Cretascyliorhinus sp., Scyliorhinidae incertae sedis 1, Scyliorhinidae incertae sedis 2, Pteroscyllium hermani sp. nov., Protoscyliorhinus sp., Leptocharias cretaceus sp. nov., Palaeogaleus havreensis Herman, 1977 , Paratriakis subserratus sp. nov., Paratriakis tenuis sp. nov., Paratriakis sp. indet. and ?Loxodon sp. Taxa belonging to the families ?Proscylliidae, Leptochariidae and Carcharhinidae are described from the Cretaceous for the first time. The evolutionary and palaeoecological implications of these newly recognised faunas are discussed.     

UPDATING THE GENUS DICTYOSPHAERIUM AND DESCRIPTION OF MUCIDOSPHAERIUM GEN. NOV. (TREBOUXIOPHYCEAE) BASED ON MORPHOLOGICAL AND MOLECULAR DATA1

Recent molecular analyses of Dictyosphaerium strains revealed a polyphyletic origin of this morphotype within the Chlorellaceae. The type species Dictyosphaerium ehrenbergianum Nägeli formed an independent lineage within the Parachlorella clade, assigning the genus to this clade. Our study focused on three different Dictyosphaerium species to resolve the phylogenetic position of remaining species. We used combined analyses of morphology; molecular data based on SSU and internally transcribed spacer region (ITS) rRNA sequences; and the comparison of the secondary structure of the SSU, ITS‐1, and ITS‐2 for species and generic delineation. The phylogenetic analyses revealed two lineages without generic assignment and two distinct clades of Dictyosphaerium‐like strains within the Parachlorella clade. One clade comprises the lineages with the epitype strain of D. ehrenbergianum Nägeli and two additional lineages that are described as new species (Dictyosphaerium libertatis sp. nov. and Dictyosphaerium lacustre sp. nov.). An emendation of the genus Dictyosphaerium is proposed. The second clade comprises the species Dictyosphaerium sphagnale Hindák and Dictyosphaerium pulchellum H. C. Wood. On the basis of phylogenetic analyses, complementary base changes, and morphology, we describe Mucidosphaerium gen. nov with the four species Mucidosphaerium sphagnale comb. nov., Mucidosphaerium pulchellum comb. nov., Mucidosphaerium palustre sp. nov., and Mucidosphaerium planctonicum sp. nov.     

New grylloblattid insects (Insecta: Grylloblattida) from the Grès à Voltzia of the Vosges (Middle Triassic of France)

New grylloblattid insects (Grylloblattida) are described from the Grès à Voltzia of the Vosges (Anisian of Alsace and Lorraine, France): Chauliodites anisicus, sp. nov. (Chaulioditidae), Palaeomesorthopteron pullus gen. et sp. nov. (Mesorthopteridae), Megakhosarodes vosgesicus sp. nov. (Megakhosaridae), Dorniella elcanoides sp. nov., D. apectinata sp. nov., D. diluta sp. nov., D. ovalis sp. nov., Baharellinus umbrosus sp. nov. Embigryllus shcherbakovi gen. et sp. nov., and Vosgesopterum arzvillerensis gen. et sp. nov. (Blattogryllidae).
